In addition to this Trade Deficit, U.S. exporters face possible 5 to 10 percent taxes in the form of sales taxes from some provinces and the federal government. Mr. Trump is trying to level the playing field which will even this deficit. This is fair for both parties. if a country with a net deficit puts 25% tariffs on the net credit trader, and the net credit puts on 25%, the net deficit profits substantially overall, they collect more tariffs, consumers just buy local, so more national business growth etc. i.e. canada is screwed, the us does well out of this. if the us put on 100% tariffs on canada, that country would go bankrupt, and the us would be fine.

The US manufacturers don't make a single small car in thos country that can compete with European cars. US agricultural products are laced with poisonous chemicals that are outlawed in the EU because they kill people. Tariffs have never worked, history has shown that all they do is raise the cost to the consumer and the profits to the corporations. We put tariffs on washing machines once and then the manufacturers her in the USA also raise the prices on dryers also even though there was no tariff on them. Corporate greed will use this to gouge us the consumers.

If look at another perspective, if Trump did not impose tarrifs, then Canada will continue to sell the cars back to US for high profits. Trump mentioned about this, he is not happy.
