I would respectfully point out that in my opinion the problem is that too many immigrants from one particular culture (in this case, Indians, but it's also the Chinese,) have been allowed in to settle almost entirely in one particular area of a city. In Ontario it's Brampton. In B.C. (where I live) it's Surrey. This stretches Canada's resources, having classrooms almost full of Indian kids who are learning English as a second language. For years we've had to put up with young Indian males street racing in their expensive cars on our cities late at night... to their mothers they are 'princes,' and they act like it and believe they can do exactly as they like. Then there's the issue of how many of their extended family members are also allowed in - resulting in way too many elderly Indians who don't speak a word of English and probably never will, so we have to provide translation services for them in our hospitals and govt. offices. The other issue I have a problem with is there's a tendency with Indians to 'skirt the rules.' There have been a few significant accidents on our highways caused by young Indian male drivers operating huge rigs which they are ill-equipped to drive, which seems to indicate they got their licences fraudulently. There's also been an increase in so-called 'honour killings' (e.g. MURDER!) as well as young girls being subjected to FGM (Female Genital Mutilation.) As an immigrant myself, born and raised in the UK, I'm used to living among Indians, and in fact have always really liked them (and especially their food, which definitely improved the British restaurant scene!) but it's time to limit the numbers. My story is similar to yours Alina, moved to Canada at 15 y.o., lived there for 20 yrs and now moved away. It's been hard, Canada has been the place I'd call home and thinking that I may never come back to live there is a little heart wrenching. I recently worked in a fast food restaurant owned by a foreign national, to begin with there was about a half and half mix between the foreign students and Canadians, it was well run, nice place to work and we pretty much got along, suddenly the owner started advertising for help only in his own language newspaper, as the usual turnover took place all the new hires were of his nationality, students who were limited to 20 hours per week wound up working more hours than the full time workers which in my books left me wondering how much studying they were getting in, Covid hit, I asked the boss if he was going to sign up for getting us paid instead of laying us off, he said he wasn't eligible for that program and laid us off, after he laid us off he applied for and got on the program, suddenly names the Canadian supervisor had never seen working for us appeared on the payroll and mysteriously when we got back to normal and got called back they never did appear in our restaurant. I'm not a racist, have always loved working with other nationalities, but rules are there for a reason and need to be enforced, a lot of folks are taking advantage of our lax enforcement. If you want to work in Canada you should apply for the permit before you come, if you come as a student you need to be a student, if you come as a refugee you should declare that status before you get on a plane. When we have people living on the streets and in cars because housing is not affordable we need to question how many folks we are bringing in.

After high school, I moved to Montreal to work as a fashion designer, (I have to mention the shock I experienced whenever I would fly into Toronto for business... when I went to get a taxi, there was always a massive line of Indian taxi drivers standing outside next to their taxis. I had the feeling that I was no longer in Canada, but somehow ended up in India?) Having lived in Montreal for 30 years, I recently moved to Guelph Ontario, to be closer to family and I was shocked to see how many Indians had moved there, (going to the dog park, I was informed by the people there, that Brampton was called Bramladesh and Guelph was turning into another Bramladesh.) There was a massive temple built in Guelph a few years ago and suddenly Guelph was invaded by Indian immigrants, with every house put up for sale bought by an Indian family, (the husband, his wife and their kids, the brother and his wife, their mother and father, all living in a 3 bedroom house with 3 cars in a 1 car driveway, (for some strange reason they all choose to dig up the black asphalt driveway and replace it with white concrete??) So yeah, the white people in Guelph are fleeing en mass, as it becomes impossible to sit in the back yard, or open a window, without choking on the powerful stench of spices coming from the Indians living next door... it's like being punched in the face from the horrific smell when you walk your dog and pass by one of their homes! That said, it feels like their goal is 'global domination' and with 2 billion people living in India today, it's just a matter of time before they all decide to leave the most over populated, the most polluted and the most corrupt country on the planet, and move to Canada!

I am reading the comments and it seems like most people commenting didn’t actually take the time to listen to the interview. He is calling out the government out for political and reactionary changes based on sliding poll numbers as opposed to a coherent immigration policy. He specifically says that this government allowed certain sectors to get addicted to temporary foreign workers. These changes are political as this government is more concerned with political survival than the needs of Canada and Canadians.

It appears that the huge increase of immigrants to Canada came at the expense of poor screening process by Immigration Canada. It is true that you can't demand higher education for people you expect to perform menial jobs, but no one wants these jobs especially in a country with such high living costs, and such poor outlook of social advancement. Every society on earth have a lower social segment of uneducated and poor individuals. Unfortunately a portion of these lower class Indians landed in Canada, and aren't contributing to their new country, or to India itself. As usual, they generally are single young males; a similar situation can be appreciated in Europe with Muslim and African individuals. I can't say how many times I've received calls or e-mails from scammers from India, Pakistan, Russia, Nigeria, and China. We, in the West as common citizens, are the targets of criminals around the world trying to exploit us. If landed immigrants aren't of any positive influence to Canada, they should be denied citizenship and expelled from the country.

Now it is open and clear that education or so called skill enhancement education programs for foreign students is a scam. They just want their money(many times what Canadians pay), and no skills to give them in return. Its broken in a way that they also can't apply to another country. I am 45yo and from Brazil. I visited Canada for the 1st time when I was 12. I fell in love with it. Decided I would live there some day.\n\nTen years ago I returned with my wife. The idea was to show her around and see if she was onboard with my plan. She loved it!!!\n\nI am the kind of guy who plans ahead (military...). Our plan was to get papers in order and apply for residency so we would move there around 2025 or 2026.\n\nOur plans started to change about 5 years ago with all the madness that came to Canada during and after the 2020 flu season. \n\nWe recently got our permanent residency elsewhere with better climate, great food, lower costs and much more freedom. \n\nWe are moving next year. \n\nBut Canada taught us that one has to be paying attention to the signs. As a FRENCH individual, I would\nSay this!!! WHY would you or even plan to come to a country that rejects you??? Why waste your money to come here???? Why immigrate here??? Lately, I have my older brother move back to France and my 2 daughters NOT willing to stay in Canada (they hate the Canadian education system here)! My wife wants to fly back to France and so am I and we will as soon as we can!!!! As for me … I HATE the Canadian healthcare system (rigid and INEFFICIENT) with all its stupid waiting times and lack of humanity and transparency!!! In France NO ONE has to wait 6 years (I heard this many times from friends) for an operation or 15 weeks to see pediatrician!!! I do not like the taxes, nor the hidden racism that is WAY WORSE than AMERICA (I have a coloured friend who knows well and who snobbed racist Canadians by speaking French to them. This friend of mine is in fact… a French citizen himself). I hate the Canadian transportation system, the banking system which is designed to STEAL from people!!! In Europe, there is NI Credit score and NO easy loans and you do not get indebted as in this rubbish country of GREEDY THIEVES (the Canadian bid corps) called Canada!!! Now Imagine How Native Canadians feel every time they see a European calling him/herself as a real Canadian. You don't see future in Canada, but you can return back to your home country. But for Native Canadians, they don't have present and they can't go anywhere else, bcz its their home land, home country. It's like someone comes to your house as a guest, then they force you to live in one corner while captures the rest of the house and now even give some rooms of your house on rent, and takes that rent, gives you no facility, nothing. Back in the late 1990s I made serious plans to emigrate to Canada. My country seemed to me a black endless hole from politics to daily life. I even learnt French because my plan was to settle in Quebec. Time went by and, sadly, Canada has gone downward. My country has fared a littlet better since myymid twenties. I left Canada finally after many many years of debating for myself. It’s the best thing I ever did. I have a really good job, that pays me more than three times my monthly overhead. After literally struggling in Canada for 30+ years as an adult trying to keep a job amongst colleagues that hate you for everything that I was and wasn’t, had and didn’t have. Canada has no functional method for dealing with corruption. No practical way to correct itself. Born and raised in Canada but left in 1999. I have only been back 3 times and although I retired in 2015, I have decided to not move back, maybe never. I am absolutely heart broken about it because I love the country I grew up in. Been traveling full time ( no home base ) since retirement and we keep looking for a place to call home. We are ending a 2+ year stay in South America and are now headed to Japan, just for the heck of it, change of scenery. We are not too keen on hot and humid but we still want to visit SEA. I am an Indian and every day I see ads from Canadian universities promising me work visas and top quality education. I also get calls from agents time to time saying my alma matter is more than enough to land me a job there and they just need a certain amount of money to send me to canada with work permit without any college enrollment.

I live in BC, have lived in my community and owned a home here for 47 years. At my local Walmart I rarely hear English spoken, even by employees. One time, the cashier held up an item to the white woman in front of me, and asked her in broken English, “what is this called” to which she replied “celery” and he asks “how to spell?” so he could key it in. He did that with several items. While serving me, another Walmart employee comes over and speaks to him NOT in English, for 3 min, while I’m waiting to be served. I calmly said “excuse me, this is Canada and we speak English in Canada.” This happens all the time. Very annoying.

You need to.come.legally we have something called laws these days there is a huge difference in settlers and immigrants we can't just let anyone in our countries this shit is happening all over western civilization and it's fucking up our housing market because they're not building enough houses for all the people coming in especially up where I live in Canada the house prices are like 4 times there actual worth and because of Trudeaus immigration policies and his red tape policies on housing I'll never be able to afford a house

Why did we keep quiet for the past 2 decades when our government was not increasing incomes, didn't focus on housing supply especially cheaper apartments, but banks and politicians together put 4 times more burden on us when it comes to monthly mortgages or rents and groceries, now suddenly we call immigrants as the problem for everything. I was born in Canada in the 80s. My parents are from India. So call me racist if it gets you off. My ass is browner than yours probably. \nMy parents, and my uncles and aunts who came here in the late 1970s had to work their asses off to prove they were worthy of even ENTERING Canada, let alone to live in the country. ALL of my older male relatives who came to Canada at that time had a PhD in a science related field or was a medical doctor. EVEN then, they had to go through years of re-training in Canadian schools in order to have a shot at PR. And they persevered and did it, and did well. \nNow, anyone and their dog is allowed in, and it's kind of an insult to all my relatives had to accomplish in order to build a life here. They had to earn doctorates and medical degrees TWICE (once in India and again in Canada).\nWell, that generation did well, and now we're the kids who are grateful and enjoying the sacrifice they put in. What will the kids of illiterate, minimum wage workers be like? Probably not so good.\nCanada's probably done. But does the average Canadian have any desire to do anything. Nope. They used to value hard work and ambition when I was growing up but Canadian culture has become lack of ambition, and entitlements just for existing. \nSo, at least I was raised with the idea of working to no end and sacrificing in order to accomplish something in life. Now, I have the resources to live where I like and do. Canada's just a place I visit now if I feel like it.\nThose of you who like to sit at Tim Horton's every weekend with your beer and weed every night complaining about how your employer should pay you more obesity privileges, enjoy being served by the migrants who WILL take over as you approach the counter in your government funded scooter.
