The Mexican President CLAUDIA SHEINBAUM writes to Trump and Musk on behalf of THE REST OF THE WORLD:\n\nSo, you voted to build a wall… Well then, my dear Americans, even if you don’t know much about geography—after all, for you, “America” is your country and not an entire continent—it’s important that before you lay the first stone, you know what you’re locking out with this wall.\n\nOutside, there are 7 billion people; but since the concept of “people” doesn’t seem to interest you much, let’s call them consumers instead.\n\nThere are 7 billion consumers ready to replace the iPhone with a Samsung or Huawei within 42 hours. They can also swap Levi’s for Zara or Massimo Dutti.\n\nQuite comfortably, within six months, we can stop buying Ford or Chevrolet vehicles and switch to Toyota, KIA, Mazda, Honda, Hyundai, Volvo, Subaru, Renault, or BMW, which are technically far superior.\n\nThese 7 billion people could also cancel their Direct TV subscriptions and—even if we wouldn’t like it—stop watching Hollywood movies, opting instead for Latin American or European productions, which are superior in quality, content, and cinematography.\n\nAs incredible as it may sound, we can stop traveling to Disney and instead visit Xcaret in Cancún, Mexico, Canada, or Europe—there are many incredible destinations in South America, Asia, and Europe.\n\nAnd believe it or not: There are even better burgers in Mexico than McDonald’s—with higher nutritional value.\n\nHas anyone ever seen a pyramid in the United States? In Egypt, Mexico, Peru, Guatemala, Sudan, and many other countries, there are pyramids with fascinating cultures. Take a look at where the wonders of the ancient and modern world are located… None of them are in the U.S. Too bad for Trump—otherwise, he would have bought and resold them!\n\nWe know that Adidas exists, not just Nike, and we can start consuming Mexican sneakers like Panam.\n\nWe know far more than you think; for example, we know that if these 7 billion consumers stop buying your products, unemployment will rise, and your economy will collapse so severely within your racist wall that you’ll beg us to tear it down. We didn’t want anything, but… You wanted a wall? Then you’ll get a wall.\n\nSincerely, \nTHE REST OF THE WORLD. \n\nPlease forward this message to 12 people. If you don’t, nothing will happen—except that many people won’t learn about these realities. \n\nCLAUDIA SHEINBAUM \nPRESIDENT OF MEXICO

What an incredible speech! As a U.S. American, I’m ashamed of our country. I stand with Canada.

From Italy, we are with you, Canadians! It's incredible what is happening...?

Canada has a strong leader. It's a shame our incredible country doesn't and hasn't for years. Biden surely wasn't a strong leader. Trump is clearly not a strong leader. We are an embarrassment

If this is allowed to continue.. USA will look like Russia in a few years!\nNo doubt in my mind.\nThis is exactly what a DICTATOR would do! Make himself and his friends so rich and powerful, control the media, so no one can challenge you.. And in a few years time, there will be a incredible difference between rich and poor in America.. Just like Russia.. Like night and day! Those who are rich, are very rich, those in the middle class, will have less and less.. This is going to be a reality guys.. I'm sorry..

Thank you to all the sensible Americans and to all the people in the world who see how incredibly counterproductive this really is, thank you!

Trudeau is lying, thief and liar. Canadians don’t like him. Is he carrying a mirror? He loves himself. You ate a liar. You bankrupted Canada. I have a lot of relatives there throughout Canada. You were told by millions of Canadians to step down. \nWe Americans have zero respect for Trudeau. Trudeau loves attention! Go sit down, asshole. God bless our President Trump! \nYour border is better because of President Trump, you moron!\nYou are lying. \nYou are a butt kisser, Trudeau… you are taking credit for President Trumps accomplishments. What a clown. But then you are right up CNNs alley. \nYour lies are incredible. \nLie after lie after lie. You could care less about Canadians! Trudeau is a LIAR. This is my opinion based on fact.

Couldn't be more proud of being Canadian. As an American-born who holds dual citizenship, I am incredibly ashamed of being associated with the USA in any capacity nowadays. Trudeau should go a step further and label Trump the soft fascist authoritarian he seeks to become.

As a German - apart from the content which is no less than justified - just technically comparing Trudeau´s speech with Donald Trump´s verbal outcome - what an incredible difference in niveau & tone. Isn't it almost tragic how little skill it took to run the U.S and even worse, how low the common-sense-threshold must be for a half of the American people to make this happen a second time. Embarrassing.

Wow, this is one hell of a speech by Trudeau. He's so pissed off, but such an incredible speech, strong leadership.

Thank you Trump and your idiocratic and senseless tariffs because you have untied Canadians in a way that have not been seen in a while. Im so happy we're sticking to our plans and not be bullied. The whole fentanyl issue is an excuse. He doesnt give a sh*t about anyone but his billionare cronies. His incredibly pathetic. I echo our Prime Minister's sentiment and sorry America, we were forced to do so. And we know this is NOT ALL of America. God bless us

THIS is what I expected from US government - federal and state! Excellent points made by Trudeau, and his restraint is incredible given the abject tone used toward Canadians!

As a proud Canadian, it's incredibly moving to see all of these fantastic comments. Sincere thanks for the kind words everyone, they provide some welcomed reassurance to Canadians today. We really do love our friends in America, and we always have.

Isn’t it painfully obvious how all other countries have leaders that are poised and articulate EXCEPT ours!? Incredibly embarrassing we have a jackass. Musk is no better. Don’t kid yourself ……English IS his native language yet he speaks like a buffoon as well!

We in the EU should stand by Canada and offer whatever support is necessary, including financial grants if needed. We should also match Canada by imposing our own 25% tariffs on the same goods and services, acting as a force multiplier. If the ‘Mango Mussolini’ refuses to listen to reason, he must feel the consequences of these actions. Hang in there, Canada! You are an incredible tough people and while your country is mentally prepared for this trade war, the US have not given it a single thought… they will be surprised and the madman will fold

A thought experiment:\nImagine that the Canadian government was given a magic technology that could build five million new homes overnight and assign them by lottery to people who didn't currently own a home.\nWould the government push the button to build the homes and give them to people who needed a home?\nNope. It would not.\nWhy?\nBecause the price of existing houses and apartments in Canada would drop by at least 50% overnight. And in our new, insane, everything-is-financialized, asset-prices-are-the-most-important-thing world, that would be deemed unacceptable.\nJust chew on that for a moment: we have a society, an economy, a governing and property owning class, that would prefer to forego the incredible quality of life increases for the population of magicking 5 million homes into existence, than to lose the valuations of a resource that is so scarce that demand grossly outstrips supply.\nWe live in a world of utter madness.

This video is horrible. I don't know what political angle is, but the real problems are very well known and have nothing to do with what you said. First, housing is incredibly difficult to build in Canada because of regulations and land title problems, I.e., you don't own that land, the indians do. On top of that, there is a constant influx of immigrant that require housing that doesn't exist. Children cry because they cannot leave their parents' houses because they can't move anywhere, so they can't find any jobs locally, and they're trapped. There is no will in the canadian government to change these immigration policies, to change the land rules so that people can own land and build houses, or do anything about their incredibly micro managed economy that makes it impossible to do anything. If so, yeah, they go to the US to have a future while Canada stagnants and dies.

You should be more concerned with median income or statistics that omit the top 1% as that is the reality the vast majority are living. In 2021, Canada was top 5 in the world in median disposable income. Finally, the US’s financial services and healthcare are big contributors to the US GDP while both have their problems (financial services don’t make the lives of the general public any better and US healthcare is incredibly inefficient). So, comparing the GDP of these countries is not a fair comparison.

I saddens me that ordinary citizens (not wealthy) are stuck in this incredibly difficult life. We all slug to keep the wealthy bathed in riches and the government assists them. It is crazy that Canada has been rated #1 to #3 of the best places to live in this world. Tells you how other countries are facing even more hardship than we are. The 'let them eat cake' faction has got to be put back in place.

That’s incredible. Where is the Mexican military. Where is our military. These migrants have no respect for the law. I hope that they deport all of them. We are tired of giving away our rights as citizens to others.

She stood in line for hours and days to get her green card and she imagines herself as suffered so terribly. But the reality is that she is incredibly fortunate. She is resentful when she should be grateful.

Gotta love how the whole time she never addresses the actual reason. Overstaying and illegal immigration. No country high on the passport index is a source country for illegal immigration. Claims to be a superpower, but has literally millions of their people trying to scam every developed countries asylum systems. Bragging about being the 5th largest economy is not impressive when you have 20x the population of number 4?. That’s incredibly poor.

So we're going to act like the military isn't one of the most corrupt and toxic institutions. While soldiers are in there serving with PTSD and all sorts of addictions?...but mental health is suddenly an issue when it comes to banning transgender people? Let the people serve and Focus on bigger issues like the children and sports. those are real problems . this specifically is straight up discrimination. It’s astonishing how many Christians carry so much hate in their hearts while claiming to follow teachings rooted in love, compassion, and acceptance. The hypocrisy is incredible . Have we actually normalized bullying? Do you all actually think your that much better? i'm disappointed in the American people. These people need to be led not ripped apart. Shame on you all who call yourselves followers of christ

No fan of the EU but if it's their turn the EU will respond back which is good. As in Sweden we have incredibly good cooperation with Canada, Brazil but also India and that will be strengthened. Most of them will probably boycott American goods here in Sweden. Trump will probably kick himself in the balls if he confronts the EU because it will backfire on him

It's incredible that so many of the people commenting here don't understand the reason for the tariffs. We're being invaded by illegal aliens and deadly drugs. The point of the tariffs is to prod your leadership into doing the right thing. Stop allowing our country to be flooded with poisons that are killing us. If you're really good guys, you would stand up to the actual bad guy, your prime minister Trudeau. Keep in mind he's flooding your country with dangerous islamists. You should want that to stop

It was probably fluoride that turned the poor man's mind around. t's incredibly obvious, isn't it? A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual. Certainly without any choice. Once in the bloodstream it makes men want to become women. in addition to fluoridating water, why, there are studies underway to fluoridate salt, flour, fruit juices, soup, sugar, milk... ice cream. Ice cream, children's ice cream.

It sounds like this video is referring to people fleeing oppressive or difficult conditions in their home countries rather than staying and fighting back. If you’re talking about Venezuela and Hugo Chávez’s legacy, there are a few reasons why people might choose to leave rather than resist:\n\t1.\tGovernment Repression – The Venezuelan government, under both Chávez and his successor Nicolás Maduro, has cracked down on opposition, jailing political opponents, suppressing protests, and using the military to maintain control.\n\t2.\tLack of Resources – Many people in Venezuela are struggling just to survive due to hyperinflation, food shortages, and a collapsing economy. When basic necessities are scarce, organizing resistance becomes incredibly difficult.\n\t3.\tFear for Safety – Speaking out against the government or organizing opposition can lead to imprisonment, torture, or even death. Many people, especially those with families, may feel that fleeing is the only safe option.\n\t4.\tCorruption and Military Loyalty – The government has secured its hold by ensuring loyalty from the military and key institutions through financial incentives and control over resources. This makes any organized resistance much harder.\n\t5.\tHope for a Better Future – Many people feel they have a better chance at a stable, prosperous life by leaving rather than staying in a country where the political situation seems unlikely to change soon.\n\nFighting a government isn’t as simple as just deciding to resist—especially when the government has control over the police, military, and economy. For many, leaving is the only realistic option.

I find it incredible it took another nation to light the fire what the citizens have been asking from out politicians....when Canadian got fed up with vehicle theft, our Politicians said...oh we're meeting with the manufacturers.....not one piece of legislation was passed forcing car makers to make auto theft more difficult....and if you are caught, you are released on bail and the thief is out stealing again.

Why are these people so desperate to get into America? And why are all of these young men coming over to England? What is so incredibly bad about their own countries?
|
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
Americans are incredibly short-sighted.. Yes this Tariffs bullying will work now on the short term. But you're always driving countries to review their strategic partnerships and look elsewhere. So ok, in the immediate, this might sound like a win (for those with the IQ of a turtle), but the US just gave the whole world another reason to join BRICS, and start looking into ways to drop the US dollar. We'll revisit this in 2-4 years ?
|
| 2025-01-26 | 0 |
At one time no South American country would have dared defy a US president and risk invasion and regime change, now they all openly defy Trump with abandon since the rise of BRICS. Colombia has applied to join BRICS and these retaliatory tariffs will simply speed that up. Colombia stated quite clearly - we will not accept undocumented migrants who have done nothing wrong but work, pay their tax and behave as excellent members of US society - basically Trump try somewhere else to dump your unwanted workers. Americans' favourite Colombian coffees have just become 25% more expensive, millions of cups of Colombian coffee is drunk the US every week.
\n\nTrump’s ridiculous comment about Jordan, Egypt and other Gulf countries taking Palestinians whilst Gaza is rebuilt is equally stupid; those countries cannot accept forcibly expelled, ethnically cleansed Gazans because that would be a War Crime and render those countries liable to be accused of complicity in a War Crime by the International Court of Justice; they would also incur the wrath of their respective populations and put their governments at risk of being overthrown.
\n\nAll the surrounding countries and the International Community needs to do is to flood Gaza with thousands of tons of humanitarian aid and millions of large family-sized tents, as well as mobile toilets and washing facilities. Supply bulldozers and rubble removing machinery to clean the land up as quickly as possible, as well as bomb detection kits to protect the children. The Gazan people are incredibly resilient and will happily live in tents whilst their country is being rebuilt around them, and the State of Palestine begins to emerge again.

It makes me sad that these folks are this desperate. Especially the women and children. I don't know the answer - I know I don't want criminals coming over, but these folks are incredibly desperate. ? If they make it here, they will learn that our country is just as phucked up as their country - and getting worse, actually.

Sad that their own President doesn't want to take care of their of their own citizens. Cause they don't want the responsibility to take care of them. Cause they have hatred towards their own citizens and this video shows how incredible incompetent their own President's are. Americans just can't support the world's population on our hard working tax dollars. This bullshit has got to stop and keep these illgel immagernts from crossing over our southern border. Fight your own problems with your own President's in your countries. We didn't ask you to invade into our country and getting a free ride off the hard working Americans tax dollars. Go back to your own countries and fight for what you want to happen over there. Or get rid of your President's and leaders that aren't doing their damn jobs.
