To any Americans reading this: We love you. We have fought and died along side you on the battlefield for many years. When pearl harbor happened, we declared war on Japan before even you did. When 911 happened, we allowed your planes to land in Canada. We fed you and housed you. During the LA fires, we sent firefighters and water bombers to assist. You have always been our closest ally, and vice versa. You have always been able to rely on us. \n\nThat stops today, thanks to your president. Make your voices heard if you disagree with what is happening in your country. His diplomacy and tariffs will hurt the both of us. A lot of Trumps rhetoric is nothing but bald faced. inaccurate BS. We hope you see the truth with your own eyes and work to fix the damage Trump will cause.

Can BOTH sides of the aisle please just chill out!?!? We all need to stop. The media keeps people with opposing views and opinions SO SEPARATED! I think a lot of people assume that countries like Canada aren't capitalist behemoths like the U.S. because we can't be - but it's because we don't WANT to be. Largely, the population wants to succeed by ways that don't make everyone else suffer, because a rising tide raises all boats. \nSoon, the wealthy American will have to reckon with the fact that a desperate and underemployed, oppressed, poverty-imposed public costs more in the long run. In profits, in security risk, in social behaviors and in health.

In WWII a lot of Canadian factories were converted to make armaments and aircrafts. They are needed around the world right now- especially by our friends in Ukraine.

You need to realize what Trump's real agenda is. All he really wants is money. He wants to make himself and his rich buddies richer. His plan to do that is to cut government spending radically, and impose a sales tax to fleece American consumers. Once he's got the cash flow the way he wants, he will cut corporate tax and capital gains tax so that his companies and his investments can make a lot more money and so can his rich buddies, while still being able to pay off his lackeys in the senate and congress. That's it. It is that simple. Everything else is a distraction to make the media forget his real plan.

I'd love to think enablers of the current US regime would understand the utter folly of its policies (to dignify them with a label they don't deserve), but I think that's unlikely. If they are religious fanatics, they will martyr themselves to sustain the usurpation of human rights so that their ideologies can remain in place. If they are self-serving oligarchs, they don't care; they've got plenty of money and are poised to make a lot more. If they are clueless, no amount of reason will reach them. Indians have used Canada like a flop house. Indians go to diploma mills and try to use it as a backdoor to stay in Canada. They take over Canadian communities and try to turn them into India - making the locals feel like foreigners in their own home. They're also involved in a lot of crime. This includes: auto theft rings, synthetic ID/credit fraud, gun and drug smuggling, and one of the largest gold heists in Canadian history at Toronto Pearson airport. Americans have stated that the top nationality entering the US illegally from Canada is Indian. The drugs they are complaining about entering the US from Canada are almost entirely brought in by Indian truck drivers (Google it and find many examples). A Fentanyl super lab in BC capable of producing over 95 million lethal doses that was busted was run by an Indian. This is now threatening trade with our main trade partner as a trade war has just started. ENOUGH ALREADY! Indians need to be sent home, and banned from entering Canada.

In Japan buildings depreciate in value, like cars, so the house I built last year is worth less this year (and my taxes on it are less). When I first got here I thought it was a horrible system, but now I see what a powerful benefit it is. Housing is quite affordable and there are lots of mixed neighborhoods, like mine, with million-dollar homes, small multi-units, and fewer gated communities. We suffer from a blight of abandoned buildings because at a certain point it just doesn't make economic sense to fix up an old (often cheaply made) home. But because home ownership is a luxury, like a fancy car, not a necessary means to accrue wealth, mortgages and rents are low and there's cheap (and small, so very very small) housing everywhere.
