The harsh winters in Canada have always been a negative living here but the quality of life used to help make up for it. Sadly, that just isn’t the case anymore. \n\nWe were able to buy simple family home on 1 acre of land back in the 80s with only one income. But the ever rising cost of real estate has made home ownership out of reach for many young people today. Burdened with high student debt, astronomical rental rates, and the high cost of living, most young people are living paycheque to paycheque. It’s a struggle just to keep one’s head above water, let alone build any savings for the future. \n\nI have two adult millennial children who find themselves in that position. They both have decent jobs but they’re just getting by, not getting ahead. I’ve encouraged them to look for opportunities abroad but with friends and family connections here, it’s difficult to consider leaving. \n\nWishing you all the best in your journey, Alina, wherever you’re headed! ? ? ?

I see alot of doom and gloom. But Canada is still one of the best countries to live in. Alot of Millenials and Gen Z think that becuase we are born in this country we are entitled to certain standards of living without sacrifice. You have to live below your means. You have to be willing to relocate to a part of Canada that may be looked down upon by others. You have to be willing to start at the ground floor of a company and work your way up ecrimimentally even if you\n just start out by cleaning toilets. Immigrants come to Canada without a dime to their name yet become millionaires through hardwork amd determination. You have to find a partner that is willing to sacifice too and stick with them through the ups and downs. Love and challenge your children to be better. Live below you means and invest the difference. You have to be patient this will not come over night but in decades and if you continually build little by little you will suceed. You can do it. Dont submit to stormy seas.

Hahaha this is the Guardian left leaning newspaper doing documentary on immigration, guess what the conclusion would be - more third world immigration?!? Most of the people I found that promote immigration are not the ones that really do anything to provide more infrastructure, they are the one that you can really do with out, some academics in the social sciences, career politicians, mostly pen-pushers. Have a look in UK who works in building sites and then look at people who are getting free housing, you need not look further to understand the unfairness and why people feel bitter. Earlier, Universities used to conduct exams at off shore centres and select candidates but now a days it looks like Universities are bankrupt and ready to take in anybody with money thanks to agents of these education institutes( These agents make even a Donkey with money Qualify for university admission !) Those who get into these universities are more interested in all other things except Studies....So Quality immigration is more important than Quantity imigratikn. Hope Canadian Govt will take a critical look into this aspect. We xan not see developed cojntries having this anarchy on the streets on a daily basis.

They could still take people in who are in immediate danger. I mean, sure he's gotta point, but looking at another similar situation in Ukraine where people HAD to leave like elderly people, women and children who weren't in a position to fight the invading Russians, Western nations took in millions of refugees. I think Saudi Arabia could do more than just being spectators, but I guess they can't hear the plight of Palestinians due to the noise of their luxury cars ?.

Always wondered why we need a continuously growing population. \nIts a giant ponzi scheme from what i can see. Lower that tax burden and get out of people's lives and young canadians will find it economically viable to have children again

It’s not the immigrants to blame, but the reckless leftist government buying potential votes by selling the wrong picture of what immigrant life will look like and by providing welfare on demand. Many immigrants do not work, but recieve soicial assistance especially once they get children, and eventually they settle into mediocre life and no longer look for work. Our government is dishonest and deprives newcomers of their agency.

I am going to tell you all the truth. I moved away from Canada in 2006 and lived in China up until 2019 (moved back to Canada). I saw China develop into a superpower, hiccups and inflation galore. But taxes are relatively fair and the opportunity to build something was always present. I find Canada has become a terrible choice especially now (totally neutral standpoint). If you didn't get into the housing market pre-pandemic, it will be harsh and you will be either a mortgage or tenant slave. The taxes are outrageous, utilities, insurance... these items are MUCH higher than China (and most countries). Owning a vehicle comes with high costs and you basically need one if you don't live in a top tier city. And then you are overpaying in living costs. Income tax (25-60%), property tax (about a month's salary), HST (13%)... and what do you get in return? A broken healthcare system, more freedoms (debatable), your children learning about woke agendas? An inadequate pension? If you are not in the top 5-10% (and I am), this is a very bad deal. My advice is to try to earn online with a passion and live in a location where you can actually save. Coming to Canada for the experience is great. But trying to build up in Canada is not a great choice. I am on the winning side warning you, Canada is saturated... look elsewhere.

It isnt an immigration crisis. Immigration doesnt stand alone as a political policy. We have looked at immigration through the lens of demographics. Canada is facing a crisis of demographics which immigration is helping to solve. As baby boomers begin to retire and millenials stop having children, in 10 years Canada will face a massive deficit in workers. So much so that the only solution is to open our borders and train new young families to fill all the employment spots that are begging to open up. The average joe on the internet cant see Canada in 20, 30, and 50 years from now. We have good politicians that can. Its their job.

Sir, the large population in India makes you feel worthless even if you have any skills. When you go to a client, they don't offer even half the amount that your work is worth. If you refuse, they say, 'No problem, we will find someone else.' Shockingly, they do find someone who will work for less money. There will always be someone willing to work for less. I’m a Canadian and my wife is an immigrant for Punjab and even she thinks this is all getting out of control. She came here to start a new life with me after we met and to get away from Indian culture which she thinks is now seeping into everything. In India it’s survival of the fittest, one must do everything they do and take advantage of everything in order to scrap by. They don’t respect any other culture than their own my wife won’t even step foot in Brampton because it looks, sounds, and even starting to smell like India. And the problem is being exasperated because these people who are from very tight families are trying to bring their whole families too people who are elderly with no literacy or language skills to integrate into Canadian society to work and contribute to the economy so they just live off of their children who came first. I’m not racist all of my friends are international and are of one ethnicity or another and I’ve been to India and love the country it’s beautiful with amazing food lol, but this is getting too much out of hand and we’re letting in the most cut throat Indians in who will exploit everything and step on anyone to get on top. They won’t even respect Canadian laws and customs. We’re not equipped to deal with them

As a Canadian born here, I think the foreign students are the tip of the iceberg. We also have to consider people that came in, and still do illegally including a criminal element. We also have a weak government that brings in folks from war torn countries, and they are not always that countries best people. Look at the Palestinian situation right now, where Most other Arab countries do not want these people entering their countries. We have to ask ourselves why that is, and is it good for Canada to bring in people where the entire Arab world says Nope! I think the entire situation in Israel and Gaza is terrible, and at the same time with some groups even the Children are raised to Hate and or be Violent. So if we are bringing in people who Hate and Support a terrorist organization, we can pretty much guess what’s going to happen inside Canada. In fact we are already seeing the hate and division. They can’t figure out this is NOT Israel, and there are no wars in Canada currently. However if they continue down this path of Hate and violence, Canada could become another battle ground. Including some of these groups who have beef’s back in their own countries! If your hell bent on war, go back and defend your own country, and don’t try that crap in Canada.

Yes, there are no guarantees in life, but immigration consultants aren't instructing you to be realistic about immigrating to Canada even if you are a nurse, studied in STEMs or structural engineering etc. Alberta could start charging provincial taxes, Quebec could cut off their welfare. And other Canadian cities could stop collecting garbage all the time and not fix their roads because many people can't afford to pay their property taxes due to high employment. The globalists want 15 minutes cities. The federal government is assuming massive immigration will solve Canada's aging population. It won't. Health care is actually better in 2nd and 3rd countries if you have the money. Even if your home country is at war, it's still better than the drug crisis in the major cities of Canada. No joke. Now, does everyone get it? Canada can not afford to pay for any social programs, even with taxing the middle class to death. I lived in Brampton from '85 - '04 and its changed tremendously. Its ghetto and dirty, and Springdale killed the city. Go look at the trash and litter everywhere. Disgusting.\nAnytime you read about Brampton, its always stick fights, general crime and shootings. A terrible place to live and raise children.

I lived on brampton a year after moving to canada, 1977. Went to high school there. I escaped after all of these years, i really have a hard time visiting some of my friends that are left there. The biggest issue i see is that there are multiple families in a sinhle family dwelling, and if you do the math, the schoolbosrd is always inthe red and looking for money. Simply put, yhe education levy on property tax generally is meant to cover 2 children per single family dwelling, not 6 not 8. Hod forbid something happens to you, it is quicly covered up otherwise race gets brought into the mix. I was rear ended by an indian lady 5 years ago, she was charged, i was a lame duck at a red light, could not move as i would hsve been tboned. She was charged but she fought it in court, i was contacted to confirm my appearance from the police officer that was first on the scene the day before the trial, the subpoena was never senr by tge prosecutors office. The prosecutor was angry that i showed up, he had already made a deal with her and dismissed all charges. Would thd same stick have bern used if i rear ended her. This is the isdue with brampton, indian is ok, everybody else, not so much

This country is utterly ludicrous. Bureaucrats and politicians exhibit sheer madness and political opportunism. I believe both Liberals and Conservatives are responsible for this situation. As a skilled migrant myself, my family and I migrated here 25 years ago. Let me illustrate with an example I'm aware of: A young woman obtained her student visa from Seneca College and arrived here with her husband and two children. Her husband secured an entry-level job (I believe that entry-level job should go to a Canadian youth), and subsequently, she brought her mother to look after their children. These children are enrolled in the local school board, and Canadians are footing the bill for their education. I don't know what economical benefit Canada is going to get out of this kind of situation. This is just one of many cases I've personally witnessed. I fail to comprehend why Canadians tolerate such foolishness.

I think everyone is missing the point here. I Don’t support Israel’s retaliation, but I wondered why the Arab world has not taken in a single refugee. Poland didn’t condone Russia’s attack by taking in hundreds of thousands Ukrainian refugees. If Egypt, jordan, Quatar, to name the immediate Arab Neighbors would rally together to get the women and children out of harms way, surely the outcome would be better for these poor people. \n\nSadly this is not the case and it appears as though this conflict will never find a solution, as long as both parties are not able to set aside their millennia aged quarrel, acknowledge each other’s deep roots and belonging to the same land, and accept that they both come from the exact same bloodline. The exact same seed of a man named Abraham. Both parties need not to like or even tolerate each other, but they both need to respect each other’s right to co exist within that space. I’ve heard some disgusting vitriol from both sides, honestly. Both sides have and are behaving like animals. Infact animals are more civil, as their disputes are settled in a more humane manner, without the casualties within their communities. Yet, despite being created in God’s image with the ability of sophisticated communication, both sides are unable to get past their own hurt pride, at least for the sake of the innocent lives that have and continue to be lost on BOTH sides, to finally squash this matter once and for all.\n\nGrowing up I had a cousin . We both were the only Sons of our respective immediate families’, born to identical twin sisters, 3 months apart. From\nA young age everything was competition between us. Who ran faster, jumped higher, threw further. Every thing we did, and we spent a lot of time around each other, was constantly turned into a “who does it better”. This resulted in us usually throwing down as one of us, feeling like we may be on the losing end of any given task, would just get frustrated, and start soccer punching the other. And my cousin and I from the time were off the diary to the day we both matured, would THROW down. We would literally just start throwing punches at each other, it was honestly impressive how we both would manage to land equal amount of hits to look like literal bloody hell, and guess what, even those fights became competition as even our dads would throw money with the others pitching for their favourite. Fortunately, our moms, the only adults in the our community, looking back, people would just pick a side and watch as go at each other, than pull us off each other, would come stomping out of the house grab each one of us by our ears, gives us a good smack in the back our heads and sit us down, look each one of us straight in the eye, and say something like, “cut it out, you two are family, more brothers than cousins” they would demand that we both go hug it out, have a bath, if we managed to do that peacefully then we were allowed to partake in dessert that evening or allowed to stay up a little later watching tv, or whatever . My point with this overtly personal analogy is that both the Palestinian and the Israeli sides should be dragged off each there by their figurative ears pulled, sat down, scolded and reminded of their ancestrial ties to each other and to the very same land. \n\nBe honest with yourselves, some how amongst all this hate, vitriol, unnecessary death of innocent lives, are you, and those you rally with be truly ok with your opposing side coexisting harmoniously beside each other? If the answer to this question is no, the other side can not have any claim to this land and needs to be removed to god knows where, if not off the earth all together then it’s your people, not mine, that are doomed. We’ll still be chilling in North America, horrified at the unfolding events but chilling nonetheless. Although it somehow claims to not be doing so, the actions of Israel demonstrate a gruelling callousness towards Palestinian life or right to life, and the staunch calls of the constant pro Palestine protests, calling for the eradication of Israel, none absent of a deep, hate and disgust towards the Jewish people. Both are in need of serious internal reform. Honestly as a complete outsider, SHAME ON BOTH OF YOU. I don’t care who started it, or who said or did what, at this point it is imperil that this end immediately. And as an outsider, I think it’s is important that pressure be applied to both sides to put their weapons down. I don’t recall the last time anyone even mention the Israeli hostages, putting any pressure on Hamas to do the one thing that would definitely appease the Israelis. In the same breathe, Israel needs to be further pressured to stop being so trigger happy and lay off of it. \n\nI can only hope, I guess. In the meantime i should really refrain from ranting on YouTube.

So you condone drinking in the streets, street prostitution and having a go at a kid that responds to an older person who shouts discrimination at him the way a kid would do. Very civilised. Id rather not have any of that shxt near my home and children mate. Get the police to do a better job so you wont have unpaid volunteers cleaning up our streets and looking after these vulnerable people and the peaceful communities they destroy.

High cost of living is a for sure sign that they don't want so many immigrants living off of the system.\nPeople should start considering fixing there own family situations in there home countries.\nCanada has already proven to be a good country for immigrants but it's not that go to hub for immigrants to exploit.\nThe work has been done.\nCOVID was scary when I was there. Interesting! Making an announcement that you're leaving a country and going to another country before you decided which country you want to go, looks a bit impetuous. Also leaving Canada and going to another Muslim country where literally 99.9% people are trying to go the opposite way makes me think this announcement is premature. \nAlso, I know lot of people that made an attempt to go to India from US/Canada for reasons of not wanting to raise the children in Western Culture. Among them about 90% came back to the West in less than two years. In my estimate it's even more difficult in the Islamic countries except Turkey and Dubai (which one may question if are even Islamic). \nAnyway, if you succeed and were actually able to settle, you're in the tiniest percentage of the people who were able do that; not a small feat!
