As an American, I can tell you the primary factor for many has been the cost of caring for the illegal aliens. A large number are receiving social services benefits greater than Americans in need, which has led to resentment.\n\nIn addition, some have argued (often disingenuously) that deporting illegals will help relieve our affordable housing crisis.\n\nAs the son of a (Finnish) immigrant, I'm 100% for legal immigration. However, one has to question the wisdom of accepting those whose first act on American soil is to commit a felony.

I see a lot of (what I assume is MAGA) crying about confusing illegal and legal. Clearly this video was mostly about illegal. But the few charts with legal immigration data included show that there is a turn against both legal and illegal immigration (see chart on left at 1:50 ). Seems like MAGA victimhood seeking, as per usual ? Also note the massive run-up in Trump's 1st term in encounters (tripled from 2017-2019) ? He was only saved by COVID collapsing the economic drive for illegal immigration. And even then, most of the run-up post COVID lockdown was in place by Jan 2021 ( 3:30 ). So he does not have a great 1st term record, despite the hot air. Let's see this time, will be interesting to have the massive military deployment needed to detain, intern and eventually deport the 12m or so total ? Note again how that number has been basically constant over very slightly declining since 2005 see at 4:15 . Hmm, manufactured crisis? ???? Can't wait for the induced Trump inflation. ? Anyway, all hail glorious leader! One land, One people, One leader!

Besides distinguishing between legal amd illegal immigration, it would be good to know the numbers behind the types of undocumented immigrants. Many of these 11 million plus people actually belong here in the US, such as the Haitians and the Deeamers (which y'all neglected to mention). But if your asylum claim has been rejected or if you've overstayed your visa (which accounts for many), then deportation is fair. But we need a grand compromise. A path to citizenship for Dreamers and people who are under special arrangements (again, like the Haitians), deportations for most others, with a new visa regime for people who have been working in parts of the economy that - to be blunt - Americans won't.\n\nAlso, most of the people here without proper documents are Mexican. And most came through Mexico. AMLO let that happen. Sheinbaum is going to need to address that. Many Mexicans are also greatly unhappy with what's been going on for the last few years.

My main concerners are human decency and the chance that a legal immigrant will get caught up in the mix.\n\nFirstly, i am concerned we will return to the concentration camps of the 1900s and the people in them wont have adequate supplies and support ehile they wait to be deported.\n\nSecondly my concern is for those on a green card or other form of legal immigration getting caught up in the mix and not being let go. I guess this also includes children of people here illegally who were born in America.\n\nFinally i think we need to stop thinking of asylum seekers as illegal immigrants. If you have come here and submitted the proper paperwork to be here then you should be allowed to stay until your paperwork has been processed.

I really don't see why this is controversial. You HAVE to moderate immigration regardless of your own political leaning, and to do this you need to deport anyone who slips through the cracks. Make immigrating legally take less time and be less complicated, this is how you encourage legal immigration while also discouraging illegal immigration.

I am definitely ok on cracking down illegal immigration and there should be criminal charges for employers that employ these migrant workers with slave wages. However with that being said to deport almost 20 million people that make up more than 50% agricultural workers in the country is a logistical nightmare. Once these migrants go these jobs will need to be filled presumably by Americans that command higher wages. I mean if Trump said he wanted to bring cost of groceries down this might not turn into a good plan.

There are a lot of scammers around the world. It is in your duty to identify them and never fall as prey. It's not Canada's fault that you are getting deported for false information. Scammers are getting better every time. It is your duty to do your own research so you won't get involved into this mess. I am an immigrant myself and we followed every single steps to become an offcial canadian citizen. It took me years to become a citizen. Ohhh if it was her own child I’m sure she wouldn’t be saying that’s ok.., there are many like her out there. They get those papers and they think they work for the White House. If she would’ve visited Mexico and had a kid while visiting and didn’t have the money for a green card it would have been a completely different situation. For those just because you got your papers do you not think that there are people that came here as infants or kids to immigrant parents that came to work to provide for their kids it’s not that easy to get your green card it cost thousands of dollars. Many immigrants that I know and worked with including myself, I came here as a refugee. Immigrants are the hardest working people I know. Unfortunately a lot of the ones that came here as kids grew up in some neighborhoods that are not so great and mainly are kids that were born here that are in gangs or doing drugs or violent so don’t blame immigrants saying they bring all this with them it was already here … drugs gangs violence was already here. Gangs started in the White House with their red and blues. Then they say they are taking all the jobs.. the jobs have always been here but people that are citizens are too lazy to go get jobs or keep jobs ( not all citizens) but the ones that are complaining immigrants usually come from villages without any media or drugs or gangs ect. They simply come here for better opportunities or for jobs. They come to work not to freakin take your jobs… this country everyone is a damn immigrant this country was taken from the natives taken with violence by killing them , rapi!’ Them. She probably will turn her family in to immigration. A very despicable human being. She needs to understand and learn her history about the Mexican repatriation act of the 1930s. Thousands of Mexicans and US citizens were deported forcibly to Mexico without due process. One day she’ll be walking down the street and immigration will pick her up and send her right across the border because of her accent and skin color.

The government will have to build hundreds of jails to put millions of immigrants and they will need everything any jail need, guards, doctors, nurses, security systems, etc. , and all that means money from all taxpayers, because there is not way to arrest anyone and be deported right away. The taxes will be so much that millions won't be agree with that and they will stop working and that will destroy completely our economy. We can't just work to pay taxes and higher prices for everything. Please just think about it. If you only think to destroy others because you just hate them, take a moment and think about yourself first. In response to the judging of immigrants. Interesting how we rarely see immigrants on our street corners asking for a handout. Instead they're at work making just barely enough to eventually have their own business in a few years. Latinos are a workforce and stimulate the economy because its a lot of hard work to maintain and sustain this country. Who's gonna do all that hard work when they're deported. I am a double hater cant stand Trump and I am a farmer, i dont use immigrants because i just grow crops that can be mechanically harvested and I have a small farm, But in the past I used to manage large farms where we had a lot of immigrants most were illegal and people don't understand why they're illegal It's because there is an arbitrary cap on how many migrants can come from Guatemala and Mexico if they wanted to come legally just a normal worker They have a 60-year waiting list so it's just impossible to come here legally. Most of these people are very hardworking good people that come here to work for 5 to 7 years save up money and then go back to Mexico or Guatemala build a house and start a business in their own country. \n\nThis year i begrudgingly voted for trump because for me the biggest issue is with the federal and state regulations that make farming much harder than it needs to be especially regulations on diesel engine emissions that cost me tens of thousands of dollars a year and many months of not being able to use my equipment that I spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on. And Kamala was the one who enforced the CARB emmisions standards that diesel engine manufactures have to comply with to sell into California which is the biggest consumer of these engines. \n\nLike right now I have my pickup truck that's been down for 6 months because of emissions problems and so many of the vehicles have emissions problems that the parts to fix it don't even have an ETA because they need to fix so many trucks and I have two other tractors broke down that I can't use all my friends that are farmers have a lot more and dems want to significantly increase emmisions standards in 2026. \n\nYou simply can't grow food at scale without reliable diesel engines There is no alternative The vast majority of food is planted and harvested mechanically in the US The bigger issue with food is not well illegals get deported It is will the diesel engines run to harvest 90% of the calories in plant them. \n\nWe have robots that can milk the cows most of the things that migrants harvest can be harvested mechanically and they are in other parts of the world It's just cheaper to do it with labor once that's not the case it will be mechanized. I would prefer to keep migrants here but give them legal working status if they have productive jobs and they pay tax.

Time for us to do the same. UK has been doing deportation. Other European countries have been doing it. It's time to stop the issues surrounding national security and defence. They, and all of their supporting equipment, are already paid for so declare Immigrants from 2020 through 2024 a national threat and produce the largest deportation of illegal immigrants. Once identified as such, there is no need for $10K in documenting any further, drive them to the border open the gate, push them through , close the gate. Once 8-10 Million have been deported, close the border completely and don't open it again until congress passes a comprehensive immigration plan to include visa overstays, path to citizenship, stronger penalties from illegal crossings, sponsorship programs and skills base requirements.

Mexico #1 form of legal GDP is the money that legal and illegal immigrants send back to Mexico that money never returns to the USA economy. They also affect supply and demand. So things cost more because there is a higer demand with less supplies and thats simply based on population. I voted Blue , but things like this is why Democrats lose the election. What we need is a for-profit deportation system. Perhaps pay citizens a bounty for turning illegal immigrants in. Start fining landlords, and business owners.
