Here's my issue with Trudeau ...you now placed your country in a position where this becomes a game of tariff chicken. This won't end well for Canada no matter what tariffs you try to envoke to counter Trump. The U.S. aren't dependent on Canada. So, what is your real endgame here matching the tariffs? Is that what the people of Canada really want to get into? Doesn't seem smart to me. It just looks like a lazy game of posturing trying impose some front like the U.S. need to back down from Canada. What a joke.

There is NO making sense of any of this. Our leadership is simply insane. I apologize for what the administration is doing to you and Mexico, and Ukraine. I wish I didn’t have to live here. I understand your response to this issue.
2025-03-04 0
Yall Sound stupid AF talking about I’m with Canada and Ukraine! As a Black Woman I understand we have an issues. But It’s USA VS EVERYBODY! Get down or Lay Down!

How refreshing to listen to an intelligent leader! i only take issue with him calling Trump a smart guy. Trump will never do anything but ridicule and insult Trudeau and Canada no matter what concessions Canada makes. The great thing is that Trump never had any kind of plan except to tariff the hell out of our former allies. Canada is very systematic about their tariffs against US. They are using a scalpel rather than a sledgehammer. Very smart against very stupid, childish, and undisciplined.
2025-03-04 0
Looks powerful, issue is... the Canadian economy will inherently be more in pain than the US one, just because of size/volume and diversity. If they fall, you'll fall even more.

American voted trump for that i don t think they have issues with that
2025-03-04 0
Stop shedding the Crocodile tears Traudo, US tarrif exactly same you charging decades, now US start charging Tarrif all of sudden you have issue
2025-03-04 0
Interesting that I learned lately that in 1812 the brits burned down the white house. Those Brits settled to become Canadians. There were no winners in that war. It started over trade issues.
2025-03-04 0
you want to know the reasons of the tarrif? look at the jumping up and down crazy monkey in the background of the ? . dont you see who's business interests this tarrif serve? the crazy mental dorck with obvious mental issues

10:24 This isn’t anti-Americanism. The prime minister was crystal clear that the issue is with the administration, and more specifically the president.

I was born in the US and have had pride in my country -- IN THE PAST. Not now and not as long as my fellow citizens and our legislators back trump and vance and musk. I support Canada and Mexico and Ukraine and the Palestinians. Drugs are the LEAST of our worries in this country. Giving our government to an oligarch like musk is our biggest issue as well as getting in bed with putin.

Trump is a horrible, horrible human. I am devastated over what he is doing. I've never once given Trump my vote and I'm not a lefty liberal. I knew if he was voted in he was going to cause world wide chaos. He has shown his character over and over and over...yet a large portion of American's just ignored it. This election wasn't about republicans or democrats or independents. This election was about humanity and global security. American's ignored the writing on the wall for their own singular wants/opinions. They stand with their Trump flags but only a few of them can actually explain any accurate information about his policy or legal issues and they condone his behavior. The majority of Trumpers claim to be 'Christians'. Christians voting for a man who is a bully, abuser, liar, predator, monger of power, impedes freedom of press and speech and aligns himself with a dictator. He pardoned violent offenders and called them patriotic, spouts false information, obstructs investigations, has numerous felony charges against him and has now made enemies with our allies. Shall I go on? That's not Christian. Even if you aren't Christian...that's not what America stands for. All for what...eggs? Guns? Cheaper groceries? Or because your need for hating a small group of people out weighs global peace. Or is it because you are so short sighted that you can't even see the valuable contribution that non American born people provide this country. Yes, Biden fell asleep at the wheel. Yet many of you still believed the better choice was a psychopath. This election was important. We failed as a country by putting this man in office. No matter what party you align with, we failed. Yes, I want cheaper eggs. Yes, I really need cheaper groceries. But not over the safety of the globe. Not over the lives of the people and children being killed in an unprovoked war. Not over the safety of Europe. Not over ripping off our closest and favorite country that borders us. Not over losing our democracy and our allies. I stand with Ukraine, Canada, Mexico and Europe and the Gulf of Mexico. You should ask yourself what you really stand for.

Canada has issues, for sure. But a lot of them stem from the issues the whole world is going through. The fallout of neoliberalism and the crashout of the USA. To say Canada has an everything criss because stuff is kind of expensive and our businesses are lacking as the US right below us fully descends into fascism is pretty ridiculous.
2025-03-04 0
Well Justin, after listening to you smug listing of all the measures you’ve taken to reduce fentanyl traffic as well as “other” traffic and implemented US requests for cleaning up border issues. I ask: “Had the US not made these requests, would you have done the neighbourly thing and cared enough for your neighbour to have monitored what criminals in your country were up to? It appears you had to be reminded of your duties inherent in the ‘office of being a good neighbour’.\nYou are STILL weak and the mouthpiece of ‘controlling interests’ in Europe who in the end will toss you out on the street like some sucked dry orange and forget your fawning presence ever existed. Man up and at least try to leave an honourable legacy for Canadians. The BOC will then be able to fulfil its mission of printing its own money without bringing Canada into the slave-pit of European Banksters.

These are your tariffs Trudeau not Trumps??- you are nothing but a liar and instigator !!!\n\nMirroring your own self image \nYou’re the issue!\nYou and your playmate Singh!\n\nHell has her mouth wide open with you and every Liberal/ NDP on it!!!\n\nYou’re a disgrace to all things true!!!

Our Congress SITS ON ITS HANDS OVER FAKE ISSUES ABOUT FENTENAL COMING TO USA. Trump wants USA to become BRICS.
2025-03-04 0
We are reasonable, than why are we being absolutely destroyed by our politicians for the last 10 years? Thats not reasonable.\n\nThe reason they so outspoken now, is because they know it will make it even worse than what they did, and will continue to do..\n\nIf this tarrif thing never happened would be business as usual, and the Canadian Politicians would just keep making Canada even more expensive, now they have someone to blame for the absolute horrible position they put Canada long before this issue.

Drug use in America, particularly the fentanyl crisis, is a significant issue that requires attention from the government. If American citizens weren't using fentanyl, the demand for it in the market would decrease. However, during his administration, Trump often shifted responsibility for problems rather than addressing them directly. Additionally, the tariffs he implemented had widespread negative effects, impacting people both domestically and globally for the benefit of his administration.

After a speech like this, discourse and solutions are supposed to follow. It's how we work with peers in school, it's how business allies work.\n\nInstead, Trump may see this as a harsh message and fire up the heat to turn this into a spectacle-- arguments, ego, threats. And then the actions will be reactions and attacks instead of solutions. i think the issue lies in that my statements-- no matter if you're Red or Blue, ring factually correct to Trump\ns behavior. he's not here to save citizens or solve issues. He is here for us to watch his reality TV show-- but it's also our own reality!! \n\nHOW IS THE US AND CANADA IN A TRADE WAR RIGHT NOW IN 2025!? I don't understand!!!

Geography has made us neighbors. History has made us friends. Economics has made us partners. And necessity has made us allies. Those whom nature hath so joined together, let no man put asunder.\nWhat unites us is far greater than what divides us. The issues and irritants that inevitably affect all neighbors are small deed in comparison with the issues that we face together--above all the somber threat now posed to the whole neighborhood of this continent--in fact, to the whole community of nations. But our alliance is born, not of fear, but of hope. It is an alliance that advances what we are for, as well as opposes what we are against.\n\n*John F. Kennedy*

Somewhat right but not exactly right. According to Trump admin, Trump is actually trying to stop the circumvention of Chinese goods and Chinese drugs coming from Canada. Trudeau promised Trump to work on the drug issue, but I guess he did not if we are seeing the significant import tax on Canada now. And come on Trudeau, you dislike Trump and aren't exactly his friend. You talked back on him on many international stages. Anyways, I wish you two get along eventually and hope the same for US and Canada.
2025-03-04 0
Also if Canada is already dealing with the drug issues why are we doing this tariff with them
2025-03-04 0
The problem Mr. Trudeau...is that 50% of Americans will never hear your common sense arguments and plea for working together because of Fox News and a couple sites called Truth Social and X. They will only hear that Trump says you are treating us unfairly and that illegal fentanyl is an issue. It's a made up issue. This is what Trump does.

This is a true leader, unlike the clown we have here.. All we need now is an announcement tonight that DOGE is going to issue Russian passports within 5 days.
2025-03-04 0
From Brazil. I support Canada in this issue.
2025-03-04 0
you know it’s bad when justin f ing trudeau is the reasonable person on this issue
2025-03-04 0
Fantanyl is the issue? Sounds like they got a lot of junkies in the US... Should be addressed... ?
2025-03-04 0
Educated Canadians would think the issue is your drug usage and all the junkies in the US... Maybe address that problem... Guns don't kill people... Drugs don't either until they are ingested... Sounds like the US has a huge Crackhead problem...

As tensions rise in Eastern Europe, the importance of steadfast leadership within NATO has never been clearer. France and Germany, long considered the backbone of the alliance, have stepped up with decisive action, reinforcing NATO’s eastern flank with strategic troop deployments and economic resilience. French President Émile Laurent and German Chancellor Anna Weber have demonstrated a commitment to European security, bolstering defense spending, coordinating joint military exercises, and ensuring the alliance remains united against growing threats. Their leadership has reassured smaller NATO members that Europe’s security remains a priority, even as transatlantic relations waver.\nAcross the Atlantic, however, Washington’s indecisiveness and political gridlock have left NATO partners questioning America’s long-term commitment. While previous U.S. administrations led with clear strategic vision, the current White House has struggled to project strength, often sending mixed signals on critical global issues. Despite these challenges, European leadership has proven that NATO’s stability does not rest solely on American shoulders. France and Germany’s firm diplomacy and strategic coordination have kept the alliance on course, ensuring that collective defense remains ironclad, even in the absence of strong guidance from the United States.

America is having this crazy issue because they can’t stick with truth. You stay with Ukraine while supporting Israel. One is oppressed, other one is oppressor. You can’t handle one hand truth and other hand wrong. No morality have americans…

I know a lot of people are tired of JT. And they have their reasons. But as a Canadian, I have to say that he did a good job addressing this issue. He literally came across as a concerned Canadian citizen that doesn't want this trade war. He truly doesn't. Nobody does. I gotta give props to JT on this one. He may have made some mistakes, but he did a good job addressing these terrible tariffs.
2025-03-04 0
Only a fool causes a trade war with Canadian over sych foolish issues. I apologize Canada for my government's actions. I applaud Trudeau's strong example of what real leadership looks like.
2025-03-04 0
Are you talking about Canada or Australia? ? So many similar issues.
2025-03-04 0
Donald was going to put tariffs on them no matter what. The non existant fentanyl issue was just his excuse to do Russia's bidding against his allies.
2025-03-04 0
CNN, since you don't educate or inform your viewers on the underlying issues, allow me to do the honors.\n\n900,000,000,000 dollars. That is the Trade deficit the United States carried with Canada last year, almost a trillion dollars of lost production; lost profit and lost jobs and lost income for working class Americans. In addition to this Trade Deficit, U.S. exporters face possible 5 to 10 percent taxes in the form of sales taxes from some provinces and the federal government. Mr. Trump is trying to level the playing field which will even this deficit. This is fair for both parties. Tradeau knows this, but being a leftist and a globalist, he will say all manner of things against Trump.

Donald Trump, as a U.S. President, was not sincere. During his campaign, he falsely claimed that people in the U.S. eat cats and dogs, a statement that has no truth to it. After becoming president, he continued to use the issue of fentanyl as a justification for imposing tariffs on Canada. His actions suggest that he is not genuinely interested in moving the country forward but rather using tariffs as an excuse, which could ultimately harm Americans
2025-03-04 0
Maybe the US should try to figure out why so many of its citizens are using fentanyl and other hard drugs. They're blaming other countries instead of addressing the actual issue of addiction and the market for those drugs. Maybe stop buying the stuff and there wouldn't be a market for it...
2025-03-04 0
As an American, I stand with Canada and Mexico but not Russia . Prime Minister Trudeau has demonstrated true leadership qualities. If the U.S. has trade issues with Canada and Mexico, they should be resolved amicably. What Trump is doing is not the approach of a smart leader—he is risking the livelihoods of millions of Americans
2025-03-04 0
He’s actually talking to Trumps Loyal voters. The Proud Boys, etc.We are sorry Mr Trudeau:((((( My President has issues. Will continue to create issues….
2025-03-04 0
Canadian have never believed that fentanyl or illegal immigrants coming across the border is the issue! We have never been the problem but have added 1.2 billion in extra security to our border. Trump is after something else...
2025-03-04 0
.... Well I'll tell you what Trudeau,.... None of us people wanted these tariffs either... At least not the people who are sane... I don't even think the people who voted for Donald Trump wanted these tariffs against the rest of the world either....I really don't understand the sense behind it because this is not going to make America greater.... It's going to destroy the economy of America and whatever the country it is that he poses these tariffs on... He thinks this is a strategy for getting what he wants... But I'll tell you what, he may be shocked and sadly mistaken when he finds out that it might just backfire ...this is a very conceited attempt to get the type of economic condition that he envisions for his new Dictatorship over America....he has alienated United States from its allies in Europe as well as its allies here at home.... This is probably about as dumb as his treatment of Volodimir Zelensky that just transpired on Friday at the oval office...and that idiot Vance is the one actually that has started that little debacle....I don't know man I thought these guys had more sense than to do this kind of shit.... But see this kind of situation is not going to affect him or his billionaire buddies because they have so much money they can cushion themselves until the cows come home....these assholes don't have nothing to worry about except the American people finding an emergency way of getting his ass out of office unless he changes course on all of this... I don't know if he can be impeached or not... But it might be a smart thing to find out if it IS possible.... AND EVEN IF IT IS WE STILL HAVE HIS SITTING REPLACEMENTS STILL IN OFFICE AS WELL SO I DON'T SEE THIS GOING AWAY WITHIN THE NEXT 4 YEARS UNLESS HE COMES BACK TO HIS SENSES, AND POSSIBLY GOES TO A DOCTOR AND HAVE HIS HEAD CHECKED....\nDTheMadkat123\nFrom a borrowed phone \n....the only thing I really do support that he is doing is securing the border and dealing with immigration issues here.... That's it that's all I was hoping that he would really focus on being in the oval office, and possibly standing by Ukraine, and Israel during these evil days.... Buddying up to Putin is like the single most insane thing that has come from this as well..I just hope and pray that he comes back to his senses and backtracks on all of this shit.... Besides I like Canada House whiskey, and Canada Dry Ginger ale, and other products from Canada.... Stand strong Canadians, I love you all, and I hope we can make it through these tough times ahead...but obviously the road that we're traveling now there really is no guarantees is there ?? Lady can you shut the hell up and go back to what Trudeau is saying ??

Surely everyone has noticed just how intelligent Mr. Trudea really is when he speaks. Quite a contrast when Mr. Trump is speaking about anything. Never once did this gentleman make this conversation about himself or issue any threats towards or against America. In a matter of days America has succeeded in isolating itself from its allies and the rest of the world and all the while China has remained Incredibly Silent.

we Canadians despise this blackface Trudeau \na little info on this socialist mascot \nJustin Trudeau's corrupt and unqualified government has increased the Canadian federal debt by more than all previous Canadian governments in history combined.\nHis track record displays complete incompetence, with literally no substantial accomplishments in eight years. He is morally empty, completely corrupt, and ignorant. His arrogance is disgraceful, but it's typical behaviour for narcissists.\nHe has legalized hard drugs and issues them out for free. He encourages citizens to end their lives if they feel depressed, by promoting his assisted dying program. He has also increased the catch and release of repeat violent offenders.\nHe Used the Emergencies Act to Lock Up Protesters and Freeze Bank Accounts\nHe Has Multiple Cases of Direct Illegal Interference with the Justice System\nJustin Trudeau is a master of failure. Turn the page, shut down the committee, fire the Attorney General, throw fellow cabinet ministers under the bus, lie, shift the blame, and accuse your opposition of the very crime you're committing.\ni can keep going
2025-03-04 0
Why didn’t you do this before the threats of tariffs. Makes no sense. You’ve been in charge for years. Yet only last week did you appoint people to stop the issues that are the talking points. It’s all BS. You’re a clown. A Neo con clown

I wanted Trump to win because of the issues at the Mexican border. He's blackmailing Canada, an ally, after we agreed to help him. He's losing the little support he had from Canadians.
2025-03-04 0
CNN: well we're going to both sides this issue, but the stock market though!
2025-03-04 0
Should Canada also be blamed for the rampant homelessness and mental health issues in Amerika?
2025-03-04 0
I was questioning PM Trudeau for his foreign relationships and dealing with Khalistan separatists and straining Canada's relationship with India. But this speech changed that perception. I like how he addresses the very issue. Crystal clear and a very matured leader I would now change my position about him. This trade war will really hurt both sides. It may help govt as businesses will pay more on sales taxes. But it will ultimately hurt the consumers, especially middle and low income folks on both sides of the border a big way. There are so many problems to solve in USA and he focused on this.
2025-03-04 0
I love Canada. Canada will always be our ally, but there appears to be some “one sided-ness”. I believe the biggest issue being drugs coming across our border. \nAs someone who lives on the border, we see many Canadian cars coming to the US to shop. They even wear clothes that they throw away in dumpsters so they can wear their new clothes back to Canada without having to pay tax. \nI wish they wld accommodate to our requests.\n\nP.S. I love the idea of becoming one nation. I wld love to join as one nation. Nothing forced, I just love the idea. God bless both our countries.\nWe’ll get through this.

Why people anywhere and in USA in particular, need Fentanol ( and other heavy drugs)? Are they so addicted or dependant on them ? Don't know about any of these illegal drugs. Is the absense of medical insurance an issue?
