As an American, i am embarrassed and stand with Canada. It's gotten so expensive to live here in California it's ridiculous and the IRS still wants 2-3 thousand in taxes every year if you don't have any dependents to claim.

In my 75 years, I have never been so ashamed, as I am today!!! I stand with Canada, Mexico, and Ukraine!!

All my love to our Canadian family and neighbors to the north. This is a great day of shame for the United States and it will take years...and probably decades after Donald is gone to repair the damage.

For anything Canada promised to work with Trump, Trudeau should stop immediately. No need to do anything on the border. Stop that immediately. Canadian should focus full power to fight for this trade war for 4 years .

Maga people think Trump is their friend. Canada and the US have been friends for 150 years as long as he thinks people have been collecting social security. Tariffs bring in cash INSTANTLY to his treasury, so that he can spend it instantly on tax cuts. Any other income generating taxes need laws to pass Congress and will not produce CASH for years...

A message to Trudeau. Put an export tax on the Oil and Electricity sold to the United States. Open up new European Markets for Oil and Natural Gas product and sell directly to Europe and Japanese markets. China needs oil, there is plenty of market around the world for our products. The Tariff's imposed by Trump is only going to make product to the US more expensive for their own citizens, and with Tariff's on all American imports, if they can't make it, or they don't have the raw materials to make it themselves, they will have to pay more. It is not necessary to impose Tariff's on USA Products to penalize Canadians, but Canadians will find new markets to replace the US, and we won't even notice it happened. We have alternatives. The southern islands are great vacation locations, and with the weather disasters they have suffered over the past few years, they could use the tourist support to help rebuild, and, their people are friendly and don't carry guns.

What is it going to take for Americans to realize they are heading pedal to the metal to become a 3rd world country run by a dictatorship? 6 weeks of the current presidency will take hundred of years to recover, if ever. So sad.

As a Canadian, I may not have agreed with everything Trudeau has done in the past 9 years. However he’s handled this American threat with class and dignity and I’m proud of our response. American/Canadian relations will never be the same. After all of this is over, there is a lot of apologies and healing that has to happen before we can even start thinking about rebuilding this relationship.
