Please Sir, know this is Trump. Half of Americans did not want this monster that is Putin's puppet. I understand your stance. He's a crazy man that doesn't care about the majority of Americans. If I could leave, I would. May God help us all.

Absolutely fuck Trump, that fetid piece of dog feces. NOBODY WANTS THIS except those who gain to profit, I am certain that will not be the vast majority of Americans nor Canadians. You are hurting families and businesses that cannot withstand the state sponsored games. I hope to god people get out there and bring this silliness to an end. I cannot abide this, attack closest and most beloved allies. I cannot even...\n\nTo my friends and family In Canada and the US, stay strong, don't give in to the rhetoric.

I am so sorry Canada, truly. I'm embarrassed that our president would do this. It's shameful. Please know that even though the majority of votes put Trump into office, it wasn't a landslide. Something like 40% of us did NOT vote him in. Therefore, there are many, many Americans who did not want him, do not want his politics and are seriously sorry for his actions.

Agent Orange openly and repeatedly says he ADMIRES N Korea’s Kim author of one of the most hellish deathscapes the world has ever seen. Literally starving the N Korean people to death. And Trump again recently said he wanted that same kind of authority over “my people.” And yet a majority of white Americans voted him in anyway. How spiritually lazy and morally bankrupt we have become. All support to Canada and Ukraine and ZERO for Putin and Kim.

As an American, can we call them Trump and MAGA Tariffs? The majority of Americans do not approve what the president is doing. Not My President.

We the majority of Americans do not want a trade war either and agree that fentanyl was just the 'excuse' used. Thank you for being such a good neighbor and partner in peace. I am sorry that you must do that which needs to be done, and I pray the good Americans and good Canadians will endure!

Justin Tredeau is such a gentleman. So intelligent. I'm sorry this is happening. I voted for Harris and am brokenhearted still. Trump isn't intelligent ?. I can tell you the vast majority of Americans cannot stand this poor excuse for a human being. I would leave the states but I am not well enough sadly. We want to get Trump and his synchophants out of the Whitehouse. Pray with us and for us that we can do this. Much love to Canada ?? ❤️.

United States IS THE LARGEST AND MAJOR CONSUMER OF ALL DRUGS AND needs to tackle and investigate their very own government who benefits from this drugs deals which are the Americans consumer. They are the one who brings the drugs into this country by any means. So Mr trump deal this issue within which is your problem not the maker. Your Americans people are the one WHO brings it and consume it at their OWN risk. Start with your peoples.

Ignorant Americans (which seems to be a majority of us now days) only know what a “Tariff” is based on what Trump says it is, and Trump doesn’t know ? about what they are and how they function (even if it is his favorite word in the dictionary). And the leadership of our government are chicken-? when they won’t stand-up and correct him when he makes stupid remarks about stuff like having an “External Revenue Service”. What a f*ucking joke!\n\nAmerica first is America alone… We deserve all the ? that you’re dishing-out to us! Give us hell!!!

The trade war that's nothing to do with Rusia war, the trade war is related with your incompetent roll letting drugs pouring by the border from China period and the Rusia war it's because with not gonna be supporting the war that you and Europe wants with our MONEY. Two different topics, we don't need your stuff and your country will lose more than us and your crying is just a because you don't want be traded with 25 %. You are talking to the minority of the American people because the majority voted Trump so your speech it's a wasting time for me

The USA prefers to act & think like a clueless inbred clown at the circus & our leaders tend to reflect that & take advantage of that going back as far as the Reagan era. The majority of Americans revel in their ignorance & malevolence while callings themselves Christians.

Canada’s Retaliation Against the Smoot-Hawley Tariff (1930)\nOne of the most immediate and severe retaliatory responses to the Smoot-Hawley Tariff came from Canada, which was heavily dependent on trade with the United States. Canada was the largest export market for U.S. goods at the time, and when the U.S. imposed high tariffs on Canadian imports, Canada responded with its own punitive tariffs on American products.\n\nBackground: U.S.-Canada Trade Before Smoot-Hawley\nIn 1929, about 75% of Canadian exports went to the U.S.\nCanada was also a major supplier of lumber, wheat, cattle, and minerals to American markets.\nThe two economies were deeply intertwined, and Canada had traditionally followed a low-tariff trade policy with the U.S.\nCanada’s Response: Retaliatory Tariffs (1930)\nPrime Minister R.B. Bennett responded to Smoot-Hawley by raising tariffs on American goods, specifically targeting products from the U.S. Midwest and industrial centers.\nCanada increased tariffs on over 16 U.S. goods, including:\nFarm machinery\nAutomobiles\nFruits and vegetables\nTextiles\nThese tariffs redirected Canadian trade away from the U.S. and toward Britain and other Commonwealth nations, under a new imperial preference system.\nEconomic Consequences\nFor the United States:\n❌ Sharp decline in U.S. exports to Canada\n\nU.S. exports to Canada dropped by 55% between 1929 and 1932.\nAmerican automobile and farm equipment industries suffered severe losses.\nMany Midwest farmers, who had relied on Canadian sales, went bankrupt.\n❌ Loss of a major trading partner\n\nCanada sought alternative suppliers in Britain, Australia, and other Commonwealth nations.\nThis permanently weakened U.S.-Canada economic ties, forcing the U.S. to reconsider its trade policies.\nFor Canada:\n✅ Diversification of Trade\n\nCanada strengthened trade ties with Britain and other Commonwealth countries.\nCanadian exports to Britain increased, helping Canada avoid complete economic collapse.\n❌ Short-term economic pain\n\nWhile Canada successfully retaliated, the tariffs raised prices for Canadian consumers.\nThe Canadian economy still suffered from the global depression, but it recovered faster than the U.S. by diversifying trade.\nLong-Term Impact\nPermanent Shift in Canadian Trade Policy\n\nCanada moved away from dependence on the U.S. and pursued closer economic ties with Britain.\nThis weakened U.S. economic influence in Canada for decades.\nRepeal of Smoot-Hawley and the Start of U.S. Trade Liberalization\n\nThe failure of Smoot-Hawley contributed to the Reciprocal Trade Agreements Act (1934) under Franklin D. Roosevelt, which lowered tariffs and encouraged bilateral trade deals.\nU.S.-Canada trade eventually recovered, but the economic damage lasted for years.\nConclusion\nThe U.S. intended to protect its industries, but Smoot-Hawley backfired by provoking Canada’s retaliation. This case study highlights how tariffs can damage relationships with key trading partners, disrupt industries, and reduce exports, ultimately harming the economy.

Let's make this crystal clear. Donald Trump has declared a trade war with Canada not America. The Trump Tariffs and the Trump Alienation of our allies is a betrayal of America and it's citizens. The vast majority of Americans are against these actions and stand with our allies. Free nations do what needs to be done but please do not cast blame on those Americans who reject this administration wholeheartedly. The Trump administration DOES NOT represent America they are BETRAYERS!

Dear Canada: please know that this orange buffoon does NOT speak for the vast majority of Americans that value truth, integrity and other humans. He shows every day that he cares only about his ego, his personal wealth and his billionaire buddies. Taking the side of dictators is his stock in trade, as we’ve seen numerous times. God help us until we’re rid of Trump and his idiot sycophants!

Thank you President Trudeau for your courage. The majority of the American people stand with you. We do not want this for our country.

Don't bother using such big words when talking to the American people / Trump. The majority of them, and he himself, have at best a sixth grade vocabulary.\n\nStick to words and concepts an elementary student / 6th grader could be reasonably expected to understand...

It is the Orange Man doing this. The Americans do not want this, the majority stand with Canada

He can posture and act tough all he wants but Canada will suffer much more than the United States. If you want fairness then make it an equal playing ground between countries. The majority of Americans, not like most of the liberals commenting here support Donald Trump

This is exactly what Trump wants to destroy America!!!! to bring on techtocracy or maybe just to make his allies in Russia happy.. It's either that or he is the dumbest president in American history... I've never understood why anybody thought that he gave a damn about anybody but himself or was capable of doing anything that would benefit the American people. But here we are.. there was voter suppression at the very least. It's hard to know what to believe about all that. But I do know many people regardless voted for him. 30% did not vote. Which I do understand. As there is a genocide happening.. but at this point, I have to believe that even amongst the majority of his supporters he is not supported by the majority, major majority of the United States. The republican Congress has shown their true colors of being anti-constitutional . But they are redeemable. Do the right thing if you are in government if you have any power at all, stand up. And for the rest of us, Americans including the ones that voted for Trump let your voices be heard. Before we become something similar to Russia. And I go to prison for this comment.

Like the vast majority of Americans, may you know that my husband and I feel the same way as you, Prime Minister Trudeau! We are appalled and disgusted with the catastrophic damage that our government is causing to our dear allies, and it grieves us deeply that Putin is being treated with respect while we are literally stabbing our loyal, long-standing allies in the back. I have no words to convey our absolute horror in the face of such disrespectful, disgusting, and dangerous behavior! Our sincere apologies, and may God have mercy on all those souls who have already paid the highest price for these selfish, power - driven decisions!

Listening to Trudeau I am truly saddened that again USA has somehow elected a man who has systematically dismantling all of American's governments that oversee consumer rights and regulations while simultaneously fiscally attacking our neighbors, closest allies on all of our borders, meanwhile speaking publicly about a globally known dictator whose personal beliefs against democracy in his own country as well as the rest of the free world. I believe that a majority of Americans like myself are left shocked after this election and do not stand behind any of these unorganized, erratic government actions as we're looking at as a whole seem to be purposely creating a atmosphere of chaos and instability seemingly without responsibility there seems to be none in charge.

It’s remarkable how a very small group of individuals gets to speak for the entire country. I feel like the overwhelming majority of Americans support Canada and want to keep relations healthy and strong.\n\nHow much blood has been shed over the egos of a few? We are pawns in their game. The People stand together!

We as the American people are listening to you. Trump does not represent the majority of the people's mindset. I pray we will take actions to reign in this ignorant selfish actions of this dictator wannabe. ?

As a Canadian - Trumps 'brilliance' has done one thing for sure, it's aligned all of the provinces against our neighbor and former ally the United States. It's done something we ourselves have had difficulty with - gaining support from Quebec. The overwhelming vast majority of Canadians don't trust the US anymore, as the legal justification for the tariffs is absolute bull, and is a pretext for Trumps actions. My family has cancelled all US travel, in my case 2 trips this year worth 15K to the US. I will miss Vegas for my 60th. We used to shop in WA State weekly; last year I spent 11K in WA State, and routinely took in shows in Seattle. No more. \n\nCan anyone please explain why Trump is screwing over Americans? Seriously.

As a US veteran, I have no idea why trump is making these ridiculous decisions. Our country is being lead by blind, ignorant and arrogant people.\nPlease know the majority of Americans do not support this stupidity.\nI love Canadians and always have, Trump will never destroy the friendships made there.

American here. Family moved to Canada ?? after American Revolutionary War (yep family was a royalist). Stayed in Oh Canada for over 100 years. As an American ?? (country I love) - I stand with Canada ?? even though it will cost me & other lower / middle classes $$$$. Not Canada’s fault. It is the fault of the orange ? man who is a pretender POTUS. A man who kisses Putin’s ring. A man who protects billionaires & trillionaires… not the majority of U.S. Americans. He doesn’t care about the grossly misguided people who voted for him - they are finding out now! Stay Strong Canada ??! Thank you for standing up to this American Bully! So many of us are ashamed, disgusted, and so sorry! ❤??❤??

As a Canadian, I didn’t vote for Trudeau but I have to hand it to him, he has expressed the thoughts and feelings of the majority of Canadians very well. Canadians are generally pretty laid back and easy going, often too polite for our own good. However, as the Americans in 1812, the Germans in WW1 and WW2, the Chinese and North Koreans in the Korean War and the Taliban in Afghanistan found out we don’t shy away from a fight when we are provoked. We will never bow down to that orange orangutang in the White House.

Canada is already heading into an economic crisis, and what Trudeau just did might be the final nail in the coffin. This is his last big mistake — and he’ll soon blame Trump’s policies to cover up his own failures.\n\nLet’s be clear: Trump’s tariff policies aren’t some random attack — they’re based on a simple reality: The U.S. doesn’t need Canada. Here’s why:\n\nEconomy Size Comparison:\n\nU.S. GDP (2024): Over $28 trillion\nCanada GDP (2024): Around $2.3 trillion\nThe U.S. economy is more than 12 times larger than Canada’s — the leverage is completely one-sided.\nTrade Imbalance:\n\n75% of Canadian exports go straight to the U.S. — Canada’s economy depends on the American market to survive.\nMeanwhile, only around 12-15% of U.S. exports go to Canada. The U.S. can replace Canadian goods easily through Mexico, Europe, or Asia, but Canada has no backup plan for losing U.S. access.\nPopulation and Consumer Base:\n\nU.S. population: Over 330 million\nCanada: Around 40 million\nThe U.S. is 8 times the market size, meaning American businesses would always prioritize the U.S. market over Canada.\nNatural Resources & Energy:\n\nCanada’s oil, gas, and timber exports rely heavily on U.S. buyers.\nThe U.S. is already the world’s top producer of oil and gas thanks to its shale industry — it can easily survive without Canadian energy.\nCanada, on the other hand, would struggle to find new customers fast enough to avoid collapse.\n\nDefense & Global Influence:\nThe U.S. holds dozens of trade agreements with major powers like the EU, Japan, South Korea, and Mexico.\nCanada’s economy relies heavily on U.S. investment, which could be cut off or redirected if necessary.\nBottom line: Trudeau is dragging Canada into a crisis of his own making. He’s gambling with his country’s economic future, knowing full well that in any economic war with the U.S., Canada loses — fast. When the fallout hits, Trudeau will shift the blame to Trump, but the facts are clear: Canada needs the U.S. far more than the U.S. needs Canada.

American here. So glad there is finally coherent resistance against our imbecile president. To Canada: you are the loudest voice for yourself, but also for us majority of Americans that tried to prevent this from happening. Thank you.

I am so ashamed and infuriated by what is going on in America!! They are going to kill a large majority of our population, way more than fentanyl or criminals! There has to be something we can do to get them out of our government!! \nAs an American, I would like to apologize for what our government is doing to the world! I voted AGAINST the ?? but I am sorry all the same!

Thank you Canada for standing up to the idiocy of trump.\nThere is mounting and clear evidence that trump and his enablers stole our election through suppression of legitimate American voter’s votes…. And manipulation of voter machines…\nThe evidence is overwhelming…Trump is a #PutinPuppet and he is Putin’s useful idiot.\nThe majority of us Americans love our Canadian friends and neighbors.\n??❤️?❤️??

Canada is already owned by USA. All our major businesses are American owned. We even sold our Fighters Jets, oil, lumber and natural resources for pennies. The Canadian people need tax cuts. The native Canadians live without clean water in Reserves all across northern Canada in third world conditioms. All the goverment projects go to mafia groups who run the construction industry and tied to federal governments. Who is the bad guy? I dont know...but we the peasants pay for it while they steal and shift it to us.

As an American, I am ashamed that my country somehow chose to re-elect this ghoul and his circus train of hangers-on. God bless you. I wish you and the rest of the free world the best. Just know that the many (likely the majority) of us down here now oppose and revile him as well.
|

Canada, we love and respect you all.\nThe United States did not place these ridiculous tariffs on Canada. Donald Trump and his red capped followers are responsible for this. The majority of Americans are opposed to the tariffs and Donald trump. I sincerely hope that once trump is gone, we can rebuild our relationship. I deeply apologize for what this criminal has done to you all.

I don’t think the majority of Americans want this. I did not vote for Donald Trump and I’m sure a lot of people that did are regretting their decision. This is so sad and depressing and stressful. God bless us all.
