The employment reservoir of Germany ist huge. 3Mio in so called Arbeitslosengeld/Unemployment salary and another +4 Mio in so called Bürgergeld/Migration salary. Tendency is further increasing. Once this number passes the million 10 mark something will change.

It's on the rise because the government is actively destroying the wages and welfare of actual Canadians by accepting ludicrous, record numbers of low-skilled immigrants.\n\nIf you are a skilled immigrant in Canada right now, this should make you furious; The governments policies are directly responsible for lower quality of life, an increase in racism (specifically toward Indian immigrants), and a massive sentiment shift in immigration. This harm is going to persist for a long time.\n\nI voted for Trudeau twice. I will never, ever vote Liberal or NDP again after this fiasco.

There is a problem, solution is:\n1. Lower numbers of immigrants for the next 3-5 years\n2. Build more houses/units\n3. Increase minimum salaries and salaries in general \n4. Encourage Canadians to have more children

It’s not racism. Canada is a nation of immigrants. Immigrants are always welcome. The problem is that there is a housing crisis in Canada. Increasing numbers of of Canadians are becoming homeless and ending up in homeless shelters or in tents encampments. There is a belief by many that our government is allowing in ever growing numbers of immigrants while at the same time marginalizing long term Canadians. In addition to a lack of affordable housing, there are not enough jobs. My son, a university student, had trouble finding a summer job. Temporary foreign workers were taking jobs that Canadians would normally do. No wonder there is a def of resentment against immigrants. The Canadian government is at fault for mismanaging both our economy and the imm system.

Justin Trudeau embraces the absurdities of progressive identity obsession and also kowtows to the cartels and oligarchs that run Canada's economy. The need for cheap labour to run the businesses essential to maintaining the fiction that the middle class is well off led to the foreign worker programs that benefit the corporate bottom line and keep the Laurentian ruling class in power. Record profits in the grocery sector riding on the coattails of price and wage fixing and price increases that have nothing to do with wholesale costs allowed the grocery cartel to more than double their return on food and beverage sales. Protectionist legislation to prevent foreign competition and protect the cartels means there won't be any substantive change under this government. Meanwhile the same government has increased the size of the bureaucracy by over 10,000 people in the last year alone while fewer and fewer actual services are competently delivered because the number of front line workers directly serving Canadians has shrunk. The longer the Junior regime is in power the worse the shock treatment will be.

Because we have seen the toll of decades of neoliberal polices offshoring decent jobs, attacking unions, reducing social services, and hastening immigration while the numbers of unhoused and alienated grow. Look underneath Canadian highways and overpasses and you will see the native-born refugees of neoliberalism and neoconservatism shut out of prosperity while the environment increasingly is polluted and degraded. All of this for an entitled generation but mostly for the top 30-40% of the income bracket.

Corporations and businesses want an increasing supply of cheap labour. The real estate/development industry wants a growing market. The International School industry lobbies for increased numbers. Canadian governments have failed the citizens of Canada who sacrificed, paid taxes and literally built this country. Replacement Theory is a reality for many Canadians these days.

Brian Mulroney got away with severely and recklessly increasing immigration. From then on every government has jacked up the allowable numbers, not that there's a penalty for exceeding quotas. Now we're there dumping ground of the world, part of Trudeau's WEF scorched earth policy on his way out the door.

Most Canadians are tolerant to immigration. However, we are fed up with the large number of immigrants the Federal government keeps bringing in. We have a massive housing shortage and they still increase immigration despite the shortage. The Federal Liberals believe housing speculators are the problem, so they put in a vacant home tax to prevent it, but how do you enforce this?\nThe real solution is to roll back immigration to 250,000 new Canadians a year until the housing shortage is somewhat taken care of.

It's multifaceted. Liberals opened up the flood gates with policies making it very easy for people to immigrate to Canada and increased immigration numbers. It's no longer tied to what Canada can support based on services, resources, and housing. It's simply: Come on in. Second, I've watched a few videos on Youtube showing how immigration is almost a form of trafficking at this point. Immigration companies are making money hand over fist promising the moon to students and people who want a better life and when these poor people get here they end up in crowded lodging with horrible job prospects. A lot of this goes back to the government laxing immigration policies and not being firm on how much we can bring in. This tsunami of immigration has impacted health services, governmental services, and the lives of Canadians. We need to do this smart or not at all. It's frustrating and the frustration needs to be put where it's due, on government and policy but it's also impacting the people and community around us. :( It really isn't the Canada of 10 years ago.

I can't help but think that the phrase 'a country of immigrants' is just a sneaky way of saying 'a country of colonialism'. I dont know that much accountability or reconciliation has happened in Canada over the last 300 years. It began with governments and corporations doing whatever they wanted and could do to make money and extract resources off of this land (regardless of whom it affected), and continues to be just that. The increase of immigrants is largely, as far as I know, being used to a) bring in more revenue and economic stimulus (which is more and more ending up in the hands of a few very wealthy families) and b) fuel the labour force of large corporations that would rather soak the profits up themselves, hire low-wage PR or temporary foreign worker labour, than pay Canadian residents properly to work those jobs. I love immigrants, have many 1st gen immigrants friends, and think they do bring a lot to Canada. We all do, as we were all immigrants at some point. At the same time, the immigration system is very complicit in looking at immigration as a resource in aiding those rich families/ corporations in colonialism, and you could argue that this overreliance is abuse of the immigration system. Certainly, we have seen this with colleges. This feels especially true over the last several years with huge jumps in immigration numbers with growing inequality for long term residents. So the result is a very quickly changing world that is not helping many Canadians feel more secure about their future, which is a recipe for unrest. Am I wrong? Genuinely I am looking to have an open discussion here!

We need some amount of immigration. But most people are feeling the pinch in terms of cost of living and housing. So they've soured to the idea of more people right at a time when the government sharply increased the numbers of immigrants being admitted. Add a little right wing populism and you've got a recipe for pushback unfortunately.

This isn’t totally accurate, and comparing Canada to the US is like comparing apples to oranges, a more apt comparison would be Canada and Australia (similar government structure, similar population, similar economy) unlike the us that has 8x our population and is the richest country in the world lol. \n\nThat being said the problems with the Canadian economy are pretty straightforward imo, for housing it’s simple, the Canadian government has invested heavily into the real estate market with things like the Canada pension plan being largely invested into the CPP. There is also a huge amount of people who have banked their retirement on the value of their home, for the most part these are blue collar workers. These two things combined have created a huge problem for the government, it basically has to choose between fixing the worsening housing crisis and in the process wipe out the savings and retirement accounts of millions of Canadians or let the problem get worse and worse until something boils over. This problem is also being compounded by the increasing number of international students being misled into coming here, they are being promised world class education but are receiving bogus diplomas from what are essentially sham colleges (thanks Ford). \n\nWhen looking at the competition in the country it’s a more complicated problem than people like to admit, in order to not become a client state of the US we have to place stronger protections on our industries and media, this insures that Canadian money stays within the Canadian market but has the drawback of discouraging competition. Now if you ask me the solution to this is to nationalize large industries that are being controlled by large oligopolies who unnecessarily manipulate the price of goods like Bell, Rogers, Loblaws, air Canada, petrol Canada, etc. By taking control of these industries the government could have better control of the price of goods and should result in better prices for consumers in turn we’re leaving some of the pressure placed on us by the cost of living crisis. This worked wonders for alcohol which in Ontario brings in 1.5 billion in revenue for the government each year, imagine how much internet, electricity, phone service and produce could bring in.

I live right outside Toronto and our government has allowed immigration to go unchecked for the last 5 years our construction industry is infested with unskilled workers disguised as skilled workers and the local unions are allowing illegal workers to operate using corporation numbers instead of government ID, the twist is the workers without government ID don't have to be paid the pensions or health befits witch makes for a 30% increase in money that remains in the unions pockets! It's country wide and probably works out to billions and guess who the unions donate millions of millions of dollars? The left side of our political parties!!!!

There are now quite a few news stories in Canada of immigrants leaving the country - some back home and others to the USA and other places. Many just get a Canadian passport and then leave. There are public health care and pensions, so it can be an asset and also a convenient travel document to have. A lot of Canadian university graduates have a very hard time finding work in their fields and a lot of them look to the US for a better future. Both immigration and unemployment in Canada are much higher that in the US - so more people are chasing fewer jobs that often pay less and are taxed more than in the USA. Opportunities are generally a lot fewer in Canada than the US, and the business environment is not as favourable, and taxes significantly higher. You would be getting some of the entrepreneurs from Canada moving to the US for more favourable conditions as well to launch a business and also now a lot more rich investor types, so-called high net worth individuals wanting to relocate, because they just raised the capital gains tax in Canada. Capital gains is also triggered on inheritance in Canada with a deemed sale of property and assets, so rich people would prefer the American system and want to be residents there for tax purposes and have their assets grow in value in the US compared to Canada. There are very large numbers of foreign students and other categories of immigrants which may have as their goal going to the US after getting a temporary visa to Canada which is easy to get - maybe something like half a million to a million people in those categories depending on the year, plus around another half million regular immigrants and refugees now. The Trudeau administration has increased immigration to record numbers. It has been steadily going up over the years for several decades since 1990. Because of family re-unification it can have a snowball effect and could significantly exceed 1 million per year. A lot of the sending countries have much larger populations than Canada, so there are a lot more that can be potentially sent to Canada in the future. About 1/4 of the population of Canada has been added in the past few decades. Add to that visitors and temporary visas - that is a lot of people potentially moving to the US. Before the 1990s Canadians visiting the US were not required to have a passport and a drivers' license or birth certificate was adequate. Now a passport is required. It is impossible to effectively control the long Canada-US border, so there could be some unified policies in that area agreed on between Canada and the USA on immigration and refugees. Canada currently has a very open immigration policy with the government actively seeking out more immigration beyond its current processing capacity and trying to take rejected immigrants from other countries. The Canadian government, especially in recent years under Trudeau is immigration hungry. It might be the only country in the world doing that. What some news reports are now saying is that some immigrants are actually leaving, since they find it so difficult in Canada and some are worse off than they were in the countries they came from, which were considered to be less developed than Canada. \nWashington currently has more immigration controls and administrative competencies than Ottawa, so US pressure and influence is a faster way to get reforms into the system than waiting for local politicians to do anything, which is unlikely. Canada is seen by some as a backdoor into the US. Biden's immigration policies could be seen as very conservative in Canada compared to Trudeau's. It used to be in the news about how refugees were trying to get to Canada and walking across the border in Quebec and out west from the US earlier, but now there are more news stories of immigrants leaving Canada trying to go the other way, probably due to high costs and unemployment because the government took in more people than it could absorb into the economy. They have the idea that immigration drives GDP growth so that they can borrow and spend more, expand the civil service, etc. without making any cutbacks or efficiencies, supposedly without the Debt to GDP ratio getting worse, just by bringing in more people as if that would drive the economy. A lot depends on who you bring in as well. Are they going to go on welfare, are they going to increase crime, will they somehow contribute to society, are they a net tax benefit or cost in terms of government services, will they invest money, will they start a business and create jobs for others ? Those issues do not factor into government decision making in Canada for the most part. Ontario Premier Doug Ford did say there were too many foreign students. It is bad planning not to consider those factors since there are other costs that grow with those policies as well, and infrastructure has to be expanded. I think that the real immigration numbers to Canada are not transparent or made public, nor are the costs involved, if anyone even knows what they are. Nor is the impact on crime. You can guess from what the reports are in other countries. The Fraser Institute has made some estimates on the net costs of immigration to the government budget a few years ago, which were very high and which by now have increased - the cost equivalent of several new aircraft carriers each year. They are big numbers which are not publicized, but it amounts to the fact that immigration is subsidized by the taxpayers in Canada and it is not paying for our pensions as an ageing society as has been claimed. There is less money for education, health care and pensions per person, and those social benefits will probably have to be reduced over time. Social programs can only be delivered to the extent that the government has money. The bigger social system a county has, the more such immigration policies are going to cost. Trudeau has been expanding various social programs as well, so higher taxes and debt are likely with that approach. Then more productive people and companies will want to leave Canada and go to the US. Probably the government does not know what the actual numbers and costs are and doesn't actively keep track of that information beyond what is required. Probably nobody knows what the true immigration figures and their associated costs are in Canada, and hardly anyone has even studied those issues. If they can just walk across the US border and get papers so easily making an asylum claim, it is not surprising, since it would take them longer to get a regular visa and work permit if they did it legally. You could call that a loophole in the US immigration system which is being exploited. The US is better governed in general and has a better system in many ways, but I am not sure if it is the same on that. People have arrived on boats and have not been sent back. At least in the US you have more open information about those issues. In Canada it is hard to find out anything about it. Deportations from Canada are very few. \nOn other issues in Canada when voting in federal elections you have to show a government issued photo ID like a drivers' license or passport to vote and bring a card that was mailed out to eligible voters that gets updated addresses when a person files their taxes. I have never heard of mail-in ballots in Canada, but there are remote areas of the country in the far north who may have special system for voting. It is easier to get a Canadian citizenship than US and many more citizenships are handed out in Canada each year in proportion to the population than in the US. Canadian might be one of the easiest citizenships to get in the world. The official line now is that it is a country of immigrants. Based on current trends, will very little opposition to it in the parliament and most MPs supporting it, future immigration to Canada could increase to several million per year because of the rapid growth of population in the world, and the momentum already growing of immigration to Canada, so it may change significantly in the future. Historically around the world you can see many examples that country names, borders, flags and languages change over time with population changes, so it might not be called Canada anymore in 50-100 years. For example, Bulgaria used to be called Thrace which had been a powerful kingdom in antiquity and had a different language which is barely known about anymore. Over the past 2,000 years it has gone through a number of changes and had various regimes governing it, has been independent and also part of several different empires. Canada has only been a country for a short time in comparison and has been been going through significant changes. Trudeau has said that Canada is a post-national country. Canada is also going through a period of critical self-examination and deconstruction-revisionism. A lot of what had been viewed as positive from its history now is seen more critically, with re-naming and removing historical figures now seen as negative.\nDiscussing immigration policy critically is considered by many to be taboo in Canada, unless a person is saying good things about it in general. You can hear people say that the government isn't processing enough people, for example, but not often that there are too many or that it costs a lot of money. The trend of migration from Canada to the US would only increase much more in the future as it is going currently, and its role as a stepping stone to migration to the US could increase. The way this would be seen by many in Canada is that they are losing valuable people to the USA whom they consider assets, since a lot of officials have been trying to bring in more people into the country, but not everyone wants to stay in Canada nowadays because of a lack of jobs and opportunities. Canada is quite laissez-faire about migration, with Toronto being a sanctuary city as well.

They don't know economics that good. Number one problem labor unions, wage increases, tax increases, run up prices on produces and services and slowing down the economy with less workers working. Number two government thought they could combat inflation and wages increases with taxes. I don't even know why they gave the labor unions wage increases during the pandemic when they knew they would strike as soon as they took it away from them. All counties are going through this in some shape, or form. Yes! even China and USA the two big economies.

immigration, including 144,000 refugee claimants drives rental demand . So do foreign students. The difference is that the foreign students pay money into the economy and are not housed temporarily in hotels . The Trudeau solution is to reduce the number of foreign students while increasing immigration levels . That's such a good plan. He has also increased the public service by about 80000+ in 8 years, with no noticeable change in the service. He is also raising the capital gain tax to encourage more investment in Canada. Right? I hear Communist countries have a command economy , where central planners run the economy . Trudeau DID say he admired the ability of the CCP in China to get things done by government command. He has no use for the loyal opposition who are always asking questions, even if they do get more than half the votes .

I live in Montreal and came from Mexico in 2012... I understand that a lot of people like myself want to come to Canada looking for a better life... But the government only wants increasing numbers of immigrants each year to keep the real estate bubble no matter the cost.\nI think inevitably migration will be reduced to a fraction because is not sustainable and eventually AI will start to replace withe collar workers that have to pay rent or a mortgage at that point the real estate bubble would collapse

What is happening with migration from India, also happened with China from 2000s to 2015 ish. And a lot more in the numbers. The PR issue in NF was because of the province retroactively changing the PR law, which is a dick move. Overall immigration is kinda incontrollable from what I can observe. Most Canadians are not willing to do low paying min wage jobs. The labor market shortage will encourage this in the future. The real issues is with wages and tax, Canadians born here live more comfortably than the immigrants, it is not possible for many to sustain their lifestyle while working low paying min-wage jobs. Labor market shortage will be resolved when wages increase. If wages are good enough then more people will be willing to enter the labor market.

As a Canadian that's left Canada I find this video a bit funny. After the 2008 crash the government placed all it's bets on immigrants and life for citizens became unbearable, causing huge numbers of Canadian millennial's and now zoomers to flee the country. Now the massive increase of immigrants has put so much strain on Canada's infrastructure that even the immigrants want to leave. I wonder how Canada will solve this issue, they can't keep their own citizens and now they can't keep immigrants.

And other Canadian cities could stop collecting garbage all the time and not fix their roads because many people can't afford to pay their property taxes due to high employment. The globalists want 15 minutes cities. The federal government is assuming massive immigration will solve Canada's aging population. It won't. Health care is actually better in 2nd and 3rd countries if you have the money. Even if your home country is at war, it's still better than the drug crisis in the major cities of Canada. No joke. Yes, please stop moving to our over saturated economy. Canadas economy is not ready to sustain such a large number of immigrants. When you have an extra 451,000 people flooding in per year that require jobs in a very sparsely populated country you’re going to run into housing and job shortages, which increase demands, increasing prices and therefore increasing homeless because people can’t afford living and they can’t get a job because a requirement for being an immigrant is full time employment.

Both federal and provincial governments are complicit regarding the housing shortage. They knew WELL in advance that accepting too many immigrants, and not building a matching number of dwellings for them would cause housing shortages and push up prices greatly. They also knew WELL in advance that higher housing costs would destroy discretionary income and push living standards down for the working class. There's no surprises here. If they say otherwise, know for certain they're lying.\n\nCanada's economy is suffering because too much income must be allocated for housing, leaving far less for everything else. The result is increased unemployment, which will only get worse as more and more mortgages are renewed at high interest rates.\n\nBottom line: Canada is being converted into a two tier society. Those few that have abundance, and the many who have little.

Who is canadian really? The crowd that migrated from Europe years ago are dwindling in number because either they did not have children or married other races which then diversified with each generation. So ,what happened was other country folks started coming, produced many kids that grew up and produced more kids. Canada is going downhill for the past 20 years. The list of problems faced by Canada are many, this includes unaffordable housing, a dysfunctional health care system with never ending wait times, over taxation with little or benefits in return, an exploding homeless population, and an economy dominated by monopolies which leads exorbitant high prices. Trudeau believes the solution to all of Canada ills is to increase immigration to a recklessly high number and double the size of the federal government, this recklessly high number of immigration is exacerbating Canada’s problems and not improving it. Australia is suffering the exact same problems no housing, price of everything rising, immigrants complaining. Government wanted to increase it's tax base straight away and didn't have the patience to actually plan around the highest immigration numbers in history. And make no mistake that wasn't an accident. But like all countries, a bunch of things have made life more difficult lately. \n \nDuring the COVID lockdowns, many people went wild wanting to buy a house (urban & rural). Increasing demand and rising prices. Not long after, inflation caused mortgage rates especially to rise. Rent costs soared too. People interested in working in hospitals declined. Less doctors etc.. \n \nSimultaneously in Canada, the number of people coming by air, land and boat to claim asylum skyrocketed. For example, in 2023 alone, in just one region (Central Canada) around 400 people arrived per day (on average). Ditto for other populated provinces. Also the number of international students SKYROCKETED too. In 2023, averaging around 2,000 per day across Canada. Years 2021 and 2022 had high #s too. \n \nThe majority trying to migrate to Canada recently have been from South Asia. And it's become extremely obvious to Canadians. Even those that are very used to much diversity & many cultures. Plus neighborhoods now know that international students are using schooling as a 'back door' ticket to come to Canada for permanent residency. No one says it in public amongst strangers, but everyone knows because they've witnessed the extreme PR frenzy firsthand by now. To many Canadians it has felt like a tidal wave that has reached all cities and small towns, with a post secondary school. This extreme situation never existed prior to 4 years ago.\n \nHospitals have been hit with many wanting free healthcare. Less doctors/nurses etc., means greater waiting times. Plus a VERY SEVERE HOUSING CRISIS has occurred in many western countries including in Canada. In ways not seen in people's lifetimes. And if you do find a place to live its quite expensive. Including small basement rooms. \n \nNow westerners want the money greedy agents (pseudo smugglers) in other countries to stop marketing & LYING to their own people about access to PR or citizenship … or accommodation/jobs … being easy (to get). And for any greedy people living in western countries to be ashamed of themselves if they're hurting students. Anyone doing things to make $ off of people's PR desires. At best, there is a 25% chance of gaining PR (better odds if you are masters/medicine etc.). \n \nNot all players across the board have acted honestly over the years, i.e. contract marriages (IELTS spouse), anchor babies, fraud, false asylum claims. Canada has asked the India government to prevent “ghost consulting”. The new PRIVATE (non-public) colleges are being investigated (including looking for strong oversea ties). \n \nCanadians are meeting students who told Canada they have enough $, but it turns out they borrowed it (some borrowed it for the application process only). Canadian food banks and other CHARITY services have been recklessly advertised on YouTube (by India students in Indian language). Many transit services have launched stricter rules, i.e. lost monthly bus passes registered in your name are now never replaced (unlike before). \n \nThen this year throw in all the Palestinian vs Israeli angry protests happening regularly in cities. Plus the Sikh vs Hindu violence/extortion mostly happening in Ontario and British Columbia. Plus the Canadian government also recently launched investigations in regards to foreign interference in Canadian elections. All stemming from Asia continent. Hate crimes have gone from rare to occasional (primarily South Asians against South Asians). \n \nCanadians are so so so so so not used to all this. So many, who have embraced multi-culturalism and immigration for decades are now VERY worried and fearful (due to all of the above). And all are praying it doesn't turn into great anger (like in the USA). \n \nCanadians want multi-culturism to succeed … and for all people (including immigrants) to be okay. Everyone I know is VERY happy with Canada Immigration's recent changes (reductions & investigations). The price of goods is directly related to the cost of energy. When taxes make up more than the actual fuel cost it causes an inflation. When the cost of producing goods is increased by the cost of energy it causes inflation. Inflation caused by government is the number one issue in all western countries.
