What makes Donald Trump think Canada would want any part of this shit storm current Trump‘s first term the Canadian immigration website crashed as people were trying to be out of here. Canada definitely has more sensible leadership why our country is led by a grifter who has turned a lot of sensible and educated Americans into zombies or should I say he’s like the big bully on the playground someone should’ve told Donald Trump that you get more flies with honey than vinegar

I didn’t travel to USA during DT’s first term, and I won’t this time either.

Spot on. I left Canada because of all these issues. Any of my friends who are still there simply don’t understand that there’s a long term problem that has nothing to do with US tariffs. The country is weak, poorer than it needs to be, and not in a good spot due to focusing so much on real estate and immigration.

The craziest thing is that the trade agreements between the USA, Canada and Mexico were signed by Trump during his first term!

In terms MAGA folks can understand:\nCanadians good! ?\nAmericans bad! ?

Canada already had tariffs on certain U.S. goods before the recent trade disputes escalated in 2025. Historically, Canada has maintained tariffs on various American products to protect its domestic industries, particularly in sectors like agriculture and manufacturing. For example, under the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (USMCA), which replaced NAFTA and was signed during Donald Trump’s first term, trade between the U.S. and Canada is largely tariff-free for many goods. However, Canada has long imposed high tariffs on specific U.S. products outside of these agreements, such as dairy, poultry, and eggs, under its supply management system. These tariffs can reach up to 270% on milk, 245% on cheese, and nearly 300% on butter, designed to shield Canadian producers from foreign competition.\n\nAdditionally, Canada has applied tariffs on other U.S. goods over the years, often in response to trade disputes or to balance economic interests. For instance, before the latest round of tariffs in 2025, Canada had tariffs on thousands of product categories, though the exact scope and rates varied depending on the goods and trade agreements in place. Posts found on X also highlight sentiment that Canada has had tariffs on U.S. products like dairy and cars for decades, with some claiming rates as high as 25% on U.S. vehicles—though this may reflect specific cases rather than a blanket policy.\n\nIn contrast, the U.S. generally did not impose broad tariffs on Canadian goods until recent actions under President Trump, who introduced a 25% tariff on Canadian imports effective March 4, 2025, prompting Canada to retaliate with reciprocal 25% tariffs on CA$155 billion of U.S. goods. This retaliation built on Canada’s existing tariff framework but escalated the scale significantly. So, while Canada did have tariffs on U.S. goods beforehand, the current trade war has intensified the situation far beyond the pre-existing measures

America will be outcast like Russia. And Donald as we all know by now, will not leave at the end of the term.

I think we need to give it time. In a year or two picture should be clear. I don't think tariffs are necessary a bad thing long term if they spike more production of everything or at list anything in US. Short term it would be painful for everybody tho. We become a country of no production. Only consumption is not healthy. It is how every empire behaves on a last breath. Look back in history. Rom, Spain etc.Sooner or later we wouldn't be able to exchange worthless green paper to goods anymore outside of the country unable to produce anything inside the country and we die. Personally I find it interesting and possibly well thought experiment.. Living the way we did last 50 years is not possible anymore. Something need to change and at list Donald is trying unlike those useless talking heads. How will it ends. Who knows. I can only hope for success. In worst case we'll have unending supply of discounted bourbon:).

Great to see a true world leader overcome a US imposter who probably smells like toilets and sweat. Wish I lived somewhere else. My mom is blind and I can't really leave her otherwise I'd be a citizen of a real nation, not this BS Potemkinville. Does JD Vance know what that term means? Do any of his unqualified, stupid goons? They are all corrupt and they are all here to destroy democracy at his whim, what a cult of fools.

To CNN - get the quote correct, Prime Minister Trudeau quoted the Wall Street Journal. Reflect that in your headline!!\n\nIn terms of this video, I do love watching a true leader speak. \n\nThe Prime Minister is the very opposite of the bloated excuses for human beings - the current president and vice president of the USA, oh and their oligarchs who are equally vile.

I hope the rest of the world watching this takes note on how the US will readily harm its longest term friend and biggest ally! This is your chance to stop buying American and buying local. Encourage others to do the same. If possible, help out the innocent countries the US is trying to destroy for no reason besides being a bully. Buy their products or visit them on holiday.

Short term will be hard, Long term it will force companies to be built in the USA to sell in the USA, instead of everything being outsourced. We are heading to self-sufficiency, and they are pissed they will lose out on our money.

Prime Minister Trudeau epitomizes a true leader. I wish he was my country's leader. Kudos to him for directly addressing the P.O.S. who calls himself our leader. Thank you for your support of the American citizens and empathizing with us as we have to endure yet another term.
|

With all due respect Mr. Prime Minister, why didn't you have guts like this before in your term, maybe you wouldn't have had to resign.

Trudwau is ending his term in a very great way

Justin Trudeau is out any day now so I wonder if the new prime minister will sing the same song. Thank You Justin Trudeau for your service once you term is completed. I remember in Dec 2024 your citizens wanted you gone but I'm sure they're appreciating you civil duty.

I think something just clicked.... we know that trump is egotistical and he wants the credit for things he didn't do, twist stories to his benefit. With that said. I think trump wants to create this WW3 to gain territory, so places like Greenland, Canada, gulf of Mexico and Gaza he has showed his interests there. So him partnering up with outings agenda. And with america in war, he would get to stay third term. While he fattens the pockets of his oligarchs. His billionaires and his Co-president.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Trump is in it for destruction, the more complete the destruction the better. USAID destruction is only an example. Trump will continue to destroy and destroy because his whole agenda from the very beginning is to destroy rather than to build, that’s his design his way to get the most attention, building and constructing is tedious and long term and requires sacrifices, and does not garner him the blasting short term attention he needs, he will never build. He will destroy everything until he dies and his end goal is to go out with a Bang destroying the entire US of A and killing everyone with him. That’s what Hitler did to German just before he died. That is Trump. Trump is America and America has always been Trump?

If any American is shocked by this and believe that this deterioration of relations happened over night… allow me to remind you that not just Canada, but the entire world has prepared for this starting in Tr**p’s first term when he first started breaking ties with allies and sat in bed with your enemies. That is why the world is backing Canada so quickly and aggressively - we saw this coming and we decided back then that we needed to prepare for a world without the USA… and here we are! For any Americans who believe your ‘leader’ that this is the age when the world will respect the USA again, it is precisely the opposite… and if you don’t want to believe that, well, wishing you all the best. The world has never ever had as little respect for the USA as today… and Putin is just laughing his ass off because he has your ‘leader’ wrapped around his finger.

Can’t wait for the mid term elections 2026
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Listen, the numbers don’t look good for Canada. America have the resources to withstand long term pains of tariff while Canada can only withstand a short term before a serious recession
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
The only reason the US imports so much from Canada is because the Democrats stopped production of all the materials Canada supplies the US because of their green policies. \nBut President Trump is reopening the gas, oil, electricity and agriculture production, so they won’t need to import so much from Canada, in fact probably reducing it substantially. \nProbably what will happen now is discussions on various goods to become equal on terms of cost in both countries levelling the playing field.

Ever heard the term HIGH TREASON ???

Canada met Trump's terms and he still screwed them, I don't blame them for retaliating. Losing allies and isolating us from the rest of the world is going to hurt everyone
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Yep.... that's exactly how our US President sounds. Completely eloquent, thought provoking and with concern and passion for all human beings everywhere. ..................... I mean.... honestly.... does anyone feel that America is stronger & safer today? I doubt even the most ardent supporter of President Trump can honestly think that.... This is getting pretty darn serious and I'm not happy about that. IT IS ONLY THE FIRST MARCH of his SECOND TERM!!!!

BRAVO Prime Minister Trudeau!! To my incredible Canadian neighbors -- You cannot imagine the shame and humiliation I am filled with as I sit in my home, which is located south of your beautiful country. Please believe me when I say I am sorry. I am truly sorry, for any hardships my country has unnecessarily brought to your door. My fear is, 4 yrs from now when his term is up, there will be no peaceful transfer of power to our next President. He who shall not be named, will most likely refuse to leave office. I wish I was a wizard standing on Platform 9 3/4 right now.

Pity politicians can only be this straight and honest when they are at the end of their term.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
At least half of our country doesn’t want this either. We feel helpless (those who oppose Trump) but we will keep speaking out. We value you Canada, and our other long term allies. I am sorry Trump and MAGA is such a major cancer that we cannot seem to cut out. Please consider adopting states that want to leave the union. That would piss Trump off the most…losing territory to you.

Principles for Dealing with The Changing World Order By Ray Dalio. \nAlthough it may seem like Trump is hurting the economy at the time being. He is doing the US economy a long term favor. Nothing personal against our fellow Canadians. We love our allies. But the US needed a Leader like Trump after the Bummy Biden administration. God Bless EVERYONE reading this comment. We will all make it through this.

I rather we get along but the US has to get something back to me is unequal terms of trade.

I don’t understand how orange stupid lost his first trade war he started during his first term and doubling down again thinking something will magically change. I suppose the only thing that changed was how much more dummies drunk the orange Julius and here are now with folks proud of fellow Americans losing their jobs, a foreigner meddling with domestic policy, and shitting on our allies because they think these alleged cuts will somehow directly benefit their personal bank accounts.

Wait wtf is happening? When did all this happen? I voted for Trump. Does trump have a long term plan here? How long? Like woah I don't want more inflation. But maybe I'll wait for trump to address this himself because I don't know if i can trust Trudeau

Dear Justin, 75 million Americans voted against Donald Trump in the recent election. We appreciate your speaking directly to us today and in recent speeches you have given. We know what a good ally you have been to the US and we also know your primary concern is to Canadian citizens. While many of us have done what we could do and we also know the current trade arrangement was negotiated with you by Donald Trump in his previous term which leaves many of us scratching our heads. For my part it deeply saddens me that this has happened and all we ask or all that I ask is that you remember those of us who did not vote for this. Slightly less than half of the country. When this is over, and it will end one day we look forward to breaking bread with Canada again.

America first. Anyone who doesn’t want to be here is welcome to go elsewhere. There is no law that keeps you in the United States. Go stand physically where you claim to stand verbally. If countries want to benefit from the U.S. market it needs to be on fair terms otherwise we continue to be at a disadvantage from a trade standpoint.

breaking with long term democratic allies & weakening American institutions via his appointees . donald wants to become a dictator like putin, orban, xi, kim in order to escape legal problems left hanging before becoming potus.

I no longer believe there is anything Trump could do to deter his supporters. He’s openly aligning with dictators and bullying our allies, dismantling checks and balances and consolidating power, even talked about a third term?! Everyone in the government going along with him clearly has dollar signs in their eyes and a “if you can’t beat him, join him” mentality. Sorry Canadians. If you’re worried, I promise we are too. At least I am.

Trudeau has lost his mocking, boyish smile towards Trump, back in his first term at the G7 meeting. Trudeau now looks serious!
|

I get all the commentary lifting Trudeau up but when i heard that he is like on his last couple of days of his term i couldn't help but feel that noone so far anyways has come out and let lose with the hard hitting, proper Grammer and clean nice language be dammed, no not anyone to speak to this wannabe hard guy which this guy absolutely is not - trust me , and i get it he is 80 years old, but if you watch him in his 60s and 50's and going back to his youth he never could bust a grape; just all bluster , daddy's money, and when it came time to pay some rent .. he'd pay someone else to do it. A coward thru and thru.

Most of the world have had enough of Tramp, there is a lot of people around the world who will refuse to purchase American goods from now on and the diplomatic fallout will last for a couple of terms. Tramp will probably move to put tariffs on goods from the EU and their retaliatory tariffs will result in a 25% increase in the price of everyday products that the American public purchase. If tariffs are imposed on the EU that will mean at least 70% of American goods will have tariffs on them. Tramps next book will be, how to crash an economy within two months of taking office, so much for the art of the deal! This is a really pointless interneine trade war and the collaborator in chief getting cosy with Russia is another example of Tramps deranged priorities.

Trump is one of those people thatbwants to watch the world burn and know he caused it.. only one month in ? ...if he lasts his term hes going to have the usa so screwed up and everyone hungry broke and no more allies ... and the americans will watch it happen and cheer..

Jealous American here. Tens of millions of Americans have been so threatened by estrogen melanin intelligence and strength going all the way back to the beginning of Obama's first term that now we have the polar opposite. We have a Putin Kim jong-un wannabe.

From the USA: Not everyone here follows a dictator even though he somehow managed to get a second term. Even worse than Trump are the people who still follow him. SORRY Canada...

Donnie doesn't have a next term so he's taking this opportunity to do things that make HIM better and not things that make the country better. I mean what's the worst that could happen? Impeachment? Been there done that and he's back in White House. Get sued and be labeled a felon? Also been there done that and what of it? Dear America, please fix this..... the world begs you.
|

At the rate Trump is quarreling with his allies, it's not far fetch to say that he might not be able to finish his second term in office. He may be assassinated or overthrown by the military.
