I am afraid you are not asking the crucial question -- why did the government allow such massive immigration to Canada? Do you think the calculation of the government was to help immigrants by bringing in so many to Canada? Is the Canadian government truly that humane? Clearly one impetus for this mass immigration was Canadians cannot by themselves support all of the social systems -- healthcare, welfare, retirement, etc., so Canada needed immigrants who would work like drones to financially support the country. There is also the business interest. Everywhere you turn there is new high-rise being built with hundreds of apartment who do you think is going to pay the $3000 rent for those apartments? Canadians banks also love the deposits of hardworking immigrants. Don't get it twisted, immigrants have been allowed into Canada out of necessity not humanity.

And I get demeaned for my skin colour, and that I was born in Canada so I (must have is good) _ right? As a french-Canadian. English Canadians shit on me. As a woman, I get judged as a Tomboy and asked if I'm a Lesbian (no. I just like video games and Cars), and get judged by my skin whenever I claw myself out of a challenge or find some stability and happiness. I was born here in Canada in 1969 and since Justin Trudeau took over as our government, everything just went downhill. I also very upset with our government bringing in millions of Immigrants and giving large handouts of of our Canadian tax dollars to support the new immigrants that our coming into Canada. Why is the government giving large hand outs to these Indian immigrants instead of helping us true Canadians who helped built this Country. It is a dam shame to see what the Liberal Government our doing to this country of ours were many are homeless, high cost of living and the high crimes that happens every day in Canada and what does the government do is let these criminals back into our streets where us true Canadians do not feel safe any more. The one thing that pisses me off is seeing is all these new immigrants coming into Canada by the thousands that are taking away our Canadian entry jobs like Walmart, McDonalds and A & W fast food restaurant where as our young born Canadian students and others can not find a job to help them pay for there school loans and get a good education degree. We need to put a stop to this. For enough is enough before our Liberal Government destroys our country.

My Granparents, parents, settled the homestead in 1896 near Rossland BC. How it used to work, how things are supposed to work, is the Government serves the needs and demands of the people. The people don't serve the Government nor any Corporation or Public/Private Partnership. This means that the Government doesn't prevent people from doing what they do and they don't use force to extort the fruit of everyone's labor to the point of enslavement. In 1896 and throughout my Grandfather's life from 1902 to 1976, one would do for themselves if they weren't working for someone else. In other words, you found something needed be done, something the community around you required or was lacking, you opened shop and got after it. You can't work today because you require licensing for everything, you require permission for everything, everything is regulated. People have it in their minds that it's so much better today then it was then, that it's "safer". But it's not, that's a lie. My family, although never wealthy, ate good food, always had a roof over their heads, plenty of family around and always had something to do or at least could always find something to work at. Most importantly, they always had hope because they had freedom. No one has any hope anymore and the people coming here aren't just bringing their culture to overtake our culture, they are coming with anger. With envy, resentment and malice. My family didn't come here with those things, they came to Canada with hope and determination to integrate and prosper with freedom. The other side of my family fled Bolshevism when they left Russia and came here and that side had the exact same hope in freedom to work hard and prosper. Now all generational wealth, freedom, prosperity and hope is all but completely stolen. We don't need more regulations. We don't need more benefits. We don't need more Government. We need less, we need it all to go away because I know for a fact, you give people the freedom to go about their lives, the society or community they form, always tends towards peaceful, prosperous organization. You give people the freedom to build and produce and they'll get after it immediately and that opens the door for all other manner of trades and skills that just fill any hole in a community or society. And that's a fact about the organizational tendencies of human beings. There's nothing stopping us from providing for ourselves but a cartel Government in the business of extortion and human enslavement. They foment chaos and division in order to justify the revoking of more freedoms to enslave more people. People themselves, they look to get along, get to work, raise families and, as best they can, enjoy life. Once we start expecting a Government to take care of us we've institutionalized prisoners who have lost all human dignity. When you "buy in" to all the rhetoric of so called autonomy, ask yourself, how autonomous are you without a family? Just because you're alone in a box in a city, stacked one on top of the other, weighted down by a landslide of rules, collecting benefits from the Government, doesn't make you autonomous. People say, "no one can afford a family". Yet those coming in have large families and they seem to be making out just fine. It's the brainwashing of our culture that set us up. Over time we've convinced the proper way to do things is everyone to grow up and go their own way, leaving each other relying on benefits from the government in old age or illness or whatever calamity might strike in life. There's always something that comes along. With family you have human resource, a plethora of skills and you have your "insurance", free of extortion. Everything that comes from a government is conditional and sooner or later their conditions rule over our condition, even though it's our labor that provides for them. The answer isn't more benefits, as I've said. The answer is simply less government, so we can all get to the business of providing for ourselves and helping our communities prosper. We need to do this with family because alone, we are all isolated and powerless. No one stands alone and a house divided cannot stand.

Most of the immigrants landing here in Canada are not boosting our economy but just becoming a liability taking the country backward rather than progress. Tye government should stop immigration including refugees, at least for a while. Not that I don’t want to help these people but we just dont have the resources for now to accommodate them. ‘m shocked to hear that 817,000 people landed in Canada. Add three zeros to it because these people pay at least a $1000 as administrative fee to government IRCC. So that is $817,000,000 Canadian Dollars. Close to a Billion. What is government doing with this money? No Government, we Canadians dont want that money in our GDP. He has enough natural resources that can sustain ourself. Stop selling cheap oil to US. And back to people who come here as immigrants. You are in a different country to have a new life. There is no point in protecting here in Canada about the things happening in your home country. People who are not part of it are getting affected. And to all immigrants please please please, speak in english. I know that you all are comfortable speaking in your native language. CANADA does NOT HAVE a 'Housing Crisis". The housing crisis is in Vancouver & Toronto, because we let ALL the immigrants move there. But there are a thousand small towns across the country that need immigrants to stop from becoming ghost towns. Trudeau should call Trump, it's set so high at 25 to make some sort of deal. I get the impression that Trump would like Canada to set up some shops in the US and get some benefits to help build the shops. i know Trudeau gets a lot of crap from people, but my god this was a hell of a speech. same with Bernie Sanders' speech. i got goosebumps and also trying to fight back tears simultaneously. my ex wife is disabled receiving social security, medicare, and medicaid due to being in a wheelchair and requiring consistent medical care and attention. she receives, and is expected to survive on, $800 a month and $300 in foodstamps. she lives in campgrounds which is 90% cheaper than rent, and still has to budget, struggle and go without a lot to make life work all while being in tremendous pain and reliant on help from others. Shame they didn't care about fentanyl when it was killing people off in BC for years before spreading, thousands of people had died. Shame they didn't do anything about the corrupt government that enabled it and the money laundering. There is a lot of talk on Fentanyl headed south, but no mention by Canada of how much of the drug heads north. I can't be zero. There has to be transit of the drug from the USA into Canada.\n\nBut what I truly don't understand, is that what heads south is not crossing through the Canadian border. All south bound traffic needs to go through US Border patrol agents. So by that measure, how is Canada not doing its job? I've crossed into Canada many times and have been asked to pull over for a search of my vehicle more times than I've been searched on my return to the USA, which was once, my very first crossing in 2002. \n\nMy only guess is the problem isn't fentanyl, that's just a distraction and by design a way to get people believing in something that isn't true and to help further the rift.

As a Canadian citizen I have always admired the US up until now, I sincerely wanted to move to the US to build homes and start up a company. But now am re-evaluating my decision because if this how the US treats their friends and allies, I really feel sad for their enemies. Canada is in trouble. Joining with the US would help both countries. Detroit would benefit from Canadians moving there, as would other US cities along the border. Canadians would get a place to live, and the US cities would be cleaned up and made livable again. Canada is suffering from too many people with few skills. The US foundry area hasn't recovered. If Trudea and Canada could see it, joining with the US would benefit them, and the US.

Well I think we will have to migrate to other countries but that will not help. The only solution is to have him removed from the oval office.

Why does Canada get a reasonable, articulate and TRUTH-telling Prime Minister when we are stuck with and disgraced by a delusional buffoon? God help American; our President certainly is helping America or Americans.

Trudeau can speak very eloquently and not get any results. The housing situation is a very big crisis and he almost resigned from the party and green energy regulations are not helping. At the very least Tarrifs will help Canada become stronger and tougher and self-reliant.
