i think deporting them is gonna be too costly and cause a lot of tension with the us and other countries, not to mention cruel for the people who managed to build a life for themselves only to have it taken away, and also might cause a recession because of the millions of jobs they used to hold being vacant suddenly.\ni think it would be a much better cheaper diplomatic and realistic move for the use to use its massive and already existing and funded military to lock down the border at essentially no added cost, and strictly deport any one who slips through after that lock down, the immigrants who are already inside aren't gonna be a problem so long as they're the last ones who ever get through. thats what i want my country the uk to do, a lockdown so no more hopefuls can get in, because as much as all the immigrants in my country don't deserve to be here, i recognise how much pain it would cause them to be deported after so long in this country. and since they're already here i say no harm in letting them stay as long as no more come.

Canada like many countries who came out fairly unscathed from COVID are facing the same dilemma, they didn't get the massive economical bounce back and the momentum that went with it like many countries who were devastated by COVID. If you look at the data between Canadian household income compared to the US, excluding the top ten percent since the US has much more income inequality than Canada, you will see that most Canadian are doing much better than their American neighbours. And on top of that, we have safer streets, healthcare, longer lifespan and better public education system. What we are missing is more leadership structuring our economy rather than completely being depended on the free market. They are managing the economy rather than facilitating more growth, none of the Canadian political parties seems to truly be engaged with that. We are not the US, we do not have the population to grow a service economy like they do, which has a compounding effect on their economy. We need a more focused approach to managing our resources, including human resource, which requires some planning on the economic side.

I agree with all you said. I left Canada in 2018 after struggling there for 20 years. I am fortunate to also have American citizenship. Unsure why I held out in Canada as long as I did. So much easier to live in the USA. One thing you missed were the lockdowns. It caused massive disruption to people’s lives and many friendships and families were destroyed. My mother left in 2022 for exactly those reasons. Many others that she’s met now in her current country of residence left for the same reasons. Trudeau. What can I say…??

But as far as accommodating/housing these people, we're not even close to being on target. Wouldn't it be a magnitude cheaper to just give them all expedited background checks, work visas and give them legitimate jobs that the American public just won't fill? Many people have commented here to change India and make it livable instead of dreaming of Canada but let me tell you, ideally it is very welcoming and patriotic thought to make India top class country in the world in all respect but keeping current politicians standards, democratic model and caste & religion discrimination, it is next to impossible to implement changes. As soon as people from other states were allowed to settle in Maharashtra they overpopulated the state making it very conjusted for natives....indians especially the sanatani community once they spread beyond a limit in a country they try to force their ideologies on the natives thus ruining the peacefull environment and now even the indian government seems to be involved in a murder of some sikh guy which was expected considering the hate for sikhs they spread here in india which is how they win elections...

We are a German-American family who moved to Germany from Prague 12 years ago. When we arrived we had zero assets, now we are financially independent and secure for life. My wife is American and finds Germany far superior to the US with regards to safety (gun-control), public transport quality, health-care, paid vacations and social services. I am surprised by the comments here, as I find real estate really cheap in Germany compared to other Western countries and it's a great place to buy real estate to rent out and get the tax advantages. Sure, income tax is high in Germany, but as a family you also get a lot in return for it and there are massive benefits for disabled people and children (Kindergeld), while education is also free and health-care is universal as well. Everybody wanting to move elsewhere has to consider whereever they go they will be taking themselves - and if complaining is a passion, you will be doing that everywhere you go.

I have visited 65 countries. Those that live in the third world would love the opportunity to live in Canada. They can live without and save as Canadians did generations ago. It has become easy for Canadians as they became wealthy with high wages and rewarded with massive returns on real estate. Those Canadians that did not invest in real estate or do not /can not work at a decent job are suffering with the high prices of everything and accentuated by an irresponsible federal govt regarding fiscal prudence.

Please when you mention international students just rephrase it to international Indian students because they are the only ones protesting. They need to go back to their country. Canada need to place only Canadian staff in consulate and embassy there to stop this massive influx of students from there

I was born here 55 years ago, I am mixed race and have been asked if I was Indian. I think that my time growing up in Canada is that Indians have had the most racism towards them. However, There are too many coming here right now. 99% of the Indians I have met with are nice and great people. With that , the shear amount of Indians that are not desirable are here. Cannot drive, rude, no understanding of customer service and take over public spaces and are litter bugs. You guys have to help transition into the western american canadian tradition. I have seen influxes of other countries come over here in my 55 years but I have never seen one group come over with these huge numbers. It is a massive displacement

Massive Refugee from Haiti, Congo, Cameroon and Middle Eastern Countries (french speaking Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritiana, Lebanon refugees are the real cause!!) due to Roxham Road between US-Quebec border entry was used to secretly dump millions of people between 2015-2024. \n\nBecause all above mentioned countries' refugee are french speaking, and due to thier french-speaking abilities, they are often viewed as Qubecers and there has been no step from either Quebec Govt or Canadian Govt to stop those migrants and hard working poor international students are getting all the unfair heat!!! The border points from Midland British Columbia to Maine-New Brunswick, there has been massive Canada-bound migrations and mostly thru french-speaking provinces such as Quebec, New Brunswick. \n\nSTUDENTS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM IT IS THE REFUGEE S and Asylum seekers FROM FRENCH_COLONIZED COUNTRIES from Africa, Carribean and Middle East!! Universities and Colleges were always full of International students even back in 1990s, 2000s and 2010s!\n\nIn City of Montreal, there was anti-hatian waive in 2014-2015 even in conservative Stephen Harper's time because French speaking provinces were getting all these African-french and French-Mohammads and French-Abdullahs from Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco and Lebanaon.
