To any Americans reading this: We love you. We have fought and died along side you on the battlefield for many years. When pearl harbor happened, we declared war on Japan before even you did. When 911 happened, we allowed your planes to land in Canada. We fed you and housed you. During the LA fires, we sent firefighters and water bombers to assist. You have always been our closest ally, and vice versa. You have always been able to rely on us. \n\nThat stops today, thanks to your president. Make your voices heard if you disagree with what is happening in your country. His diplomacy and tariffs will hurt the both of us. A lot of Trumps rhetoric is nothing but bald faced. inaccurate BS. We hope you see the truth with your own eyes and work to fix the damage Trump will cause.

As a Kamala voter and as an American who loves Canada, I apologize for the hideous manner in which my government is treating our neighbor and ally. I will be protesting and doing what I can to stop Trump and Musk from destroying our democracy and our friendships around the world. I am a US citizen and I am terrified about everything that is happening in this country. I am horrified that there are so many hateful and greedy people in this country that allowed this orange moron to hold office not once, but twice. I will never understand how he is being allowed to get away with the things he is doing, so many of which are illegal. Where are the US leaders who will stand up to him? In a best case scenario, DJT will rescind the tariffs on Canadian goods. In the worst case, we get even poorer. If this happened after Trump became president the first time, the economy was strong from 4 years of Obama's presidency. Then COVID happened, and for alot of folks here, they haven't recovered financially. Savings and retirement plans are gone. Rent is higher, for many it takes over 50% of their income. So in this emergency time, there's nothing to fall back on. Oh and DOGE will cut SNAP benefits, I'm sure. That's food stamps, meant for the people struggling. It's becoming more and more of Americans. \nAm I depressed? No, I lived through Reagan's presidency. I'm cautious about life, my job, commuting to work, putting food on the table. It’s horrible that all of us In the US have to face the consequences of Trump’s insanity, and be labeled as traitors on the world stage. That this was allowed to happen shows America is a deeply ill nation right now. That so many of us can see this president as an absolute monster, while others as a savior, shows how broken we have become. This is something we alone are going to have to figure out.

The only solution that I have heard that remotely makes any sense is the Cato institute conclusion that the wisest route to go is completely legalization with age restrictions. While this may not be the desired outcome it's the only one that I see that makes any sense whatsoever it seems that when a solution like this offered so many individuals who have no gravitas in this matter will come back to the same nonsensical bulshit that they're going to stop the flow that is absolutely impossible. However we will continue on that course and we will continue to fail. The Cato Institute was initially funded by the Koch brothers a extremely conservative organization that gets together a group of the brightest and the best in trying to determine what is the best solution.the Koch brothers were the group that invented the tea party I would love for anybody who disagrees with this post. Canada and Mexico are not responsible for the people in the US who chose to use drugs. In fact, it's the United States job to keep illegal drugs and immigrants out of the US and they are doing a poor job of it and need someone else to blame. Mexico could retaliate in a way that could flood the US with illegal drugs and immigrants and refuse to repatriate its citizens back into Mexico. Very proud of my Prime Minister today. Half my family is American - which is true for many of us - but the USA has declared economic warfare on us. As hard as it is to believe, it’s actually happened. The USA we used to know is gone forever.

The tariffs on Canada and Mexico are not about what they are doing now. The tariffs are about what OUR FRIENDS????? allowed to happen for the last 4 years. Born and Raised in Canada and there is another sort of comparison I'm starting to see more and more: We have the Stagnation of Japan and the the Personality of Britain. \n\nWhat I mean by that, the people in Canada, least the older ones (Boomers), got very conservative and never wanted to rock the boat and do new things. They had in their eyes a good thing. They had work and owned their home. None of them wanted to risk that so they kept things the same for the past 3 decades or so. Well a lot has changed around the world, and were pretty much the same old. Literally. In retirement. Whats the last interesting thing Canada has done since the Canadarm? \n\nI can think of a number of achievements the rest of the world has done, including many 3rd world countries. Canada needs more strict visa requirements. The. Fact you can just come on visitor visa or study visa and stay most international students don’t even show up for school. Canada needs to stop giving out visas like it’s Halloween Candy. 500,000 international students went missing they came into Canada were supposed to go back after there end date and went missing . The system is broken . Many get a visa to study or get a tourist visa and DONT LEAVE. They are mostly staying with relatives that are Canadian. And they work in cash .
