Good for Canada the republicans in congress are spineless to stand up to the felon president Trump and are allowing him to be a fascist tyrant. As an American it hurts to see how Trump treats allies and how he embraces enemies like Putin, North Korea and others. As painful as it will be I hope the free world does what the Republicans are scared to do and that is stand up to Trump and put him in his place!

First acknowledge that a country has the right to control its borders. The US has lost its Aircraft industry (Boeing), its Car industry (Detroit) and now its Semiconductor industry (Intel). His strategy is to tax foreign goods instead of taxing US resources and to force local production. The US citizen pays either way.

Okay, so US tariffs are bad and will cause financial trouble for both Americans and Canadians. Won’t Canadian Tariffs do the same thing? Furthermore, Canada will not win a Tariff war with the US. Canada’s response is not rational, nor is it in the best interest of the country. What about working with Trump to understand what it takes to remove all tariffs.

Retaliatory tarrifs against USA are necessary, but a better impact would be achieved with significant but similar retaliatory increase in sanctions against Putin. In that way, Putin will be more likely to tell his boy to stop the attack against Canada.
