From Germany to Canadians: Canada has the highest respect from what's left of the West. Stay strong. Stay vigilant. Don't lose who you are and keep standing up for what is right. It's easy to say, but there are more important things in life than money and power. America has lost its soul. Let's keep ours and move forward as true friends and allies.

This is only the beginning. The pressure for Canada to accept becoming an US state will get to levels you guys don't even imagine now. He will go as far as invading you and take you by force. He wamts your huge territory and resources. Unless the congress impeaches him, you will be taken by force. I know this sounds crazy but, considering everything that's happening in the world, his desire to pull out of Europe etc, I believe he sees Canada as an easy huge territory to annex. I think Trump wants to brake Canada ,bring us to our knees and force us to give up and say ok we'll become your 51st state,and why does he want to take us over well thats easy ,he wants to take over and control are resource's And i have yet to hear why Trump says we have abused American for years,like how have we done that?

It seems sad that it took an action such as the one the US government had to do, to make Canada realize that we should work together as provinces and as people. Canada knew very well that our big brother in the south has been fiscally hurting since years and had been racking up enormous government, corporate and private citizen debt. If this were to continue it would pull down every single country in the world. Perhaps if the US is becoming fiscally responsible, truly eliminate fraudulent and unnecessary spending and refocus on their local economy (just like China has been doing in the last years) the rest of the world and even Canada can finally focus on their strength and local markets. After all, don't we all miss our local stores, local artisans, vibrant neighborhoods with diverse businesses and a pride in having made in our own country? May I say that this Trump era will give the whole planet a new perspective for changing our ways, reliance on others and taking the easy and greedy road!

Then make sure the border is secure. If he asks trump what can we do then he should respond with a clean border. Should be super easy for Canada to do.

Canada can't be fixed. In theory these problems are VERY easy to solve. In practice literally impossible. \nCanadians have the political sophistication of a 6 year. Anyone with the opportunity to leave is leaving or has left.

I’m part of that brain drain from Canada to the U.S. Having dual citizenship made that easy, and while I miss so many things about Vancouver, I was being totally squeezed between expensive housing and very poor income outlook. There were director level positions that were offering less than my mid level role; not a good look. Down south, I was able to jump income (not considering the exchange rate) 200% in two years, and I have far better career prospects. \n\nIt’s not great. I will always be a Canadian at heart.

Its actually incredibly easy for someone to get a student, or work visa from Africa, and come to Canada.

In the early 1990s I worked with a Canadian and he said it is easy to cross the border into the U.S. but getting back into Canada was a hassle even if you were a Canadian citizen, you had to show the proper documents, be searched if you looked even slightly suspicious (aka not white). Makes a lot of sense they were keeping undesirables out of Canada but weren't concerned about who was getting into the U.S.

I live about 30 minutes from the Detroit/Windsor (Canada) boarder. I have gone back and forth and the agents coming back have more questions and keep you longer crossing over. Going over it's simply easy.

Canada has exposed itself to criminals from various countries starting with India who are manipulating relaxed visa requirements. In addition there are no consequences for crime committed. \n\nAdd to that currently majority of employers are opting to hire students and refugees as it is easy to control behaviours. I am a Canadian. Moved to Houston and lived there for eight years....there is nothing pleasant about living in the United States. Sorry but you guys fail even the basic courtesies of life. Was relieved to get back to Canada and get rid of my sidearms! Hospitals and clinics in the U.S. want proof of insurance or they can refuse to even look at you! In Canada no clinic or hospital can turn you away....and we have the Good Samartan law here...meaning you can't be sued for helping someone in an emegency. I actually knew a person in Houston who made her living suing people and companies just because it was easy money....try that here...lmao. To sum it up....living in Canada has the most appeal for me. Now, 2025, I would not even cross the border...too dangerous...trump tards everywhere and who knows when you will be on thier target list.
