The only reason the US imports so much from Canada is because the Democrats stopped production of all the materials Canada supplies the US because of their green policies. \nBut President Trump is reopening the gas, oil, electricity and agriculture production, so they won’t need to import so much from Canada, in fact probably reducing it substantially. \nProbably what will happen now is discussions on various goods to become equal on terms of cost in both countries levelling the playing field.

Go our dear friends and neighbors of Canada! (A 5th generation Texan here depressed by what we have become.) Trump does not care, his paycheck is from our tax money and he will just file another personal bankruptcy if he needs to do so, because he is so good at business (not).

Every country should be responsible for their own goods. The day we start relying on other countries for what we need we're in a heck of a mess. Because China couldn't get our merchandise to our plant we had to shut down for almost a month. We messed up sending some of our work to China. After this we got everything in the US. Cheaper prices are not the solution. Cheaper labor is not the answer. Trump is concerned about the drugs coming into our country and since the borders are affected these drugs will be coming into our country many other ways. These tariffs have nothing to do with Fentanyl. Fentanyl is the excuse needed to apply tariffs which otherwise would be illegal. Canada needs to start trading more with other countries. The USA is not a reliable trade partner when one man can completely FK the system.
