Donald does not, nor has ever, understood politics or geo-politics. He approaches things as 'business deals' amongst businesses but Countries are not businesses. I have no doubt he is surrounded by people that have known these tariffs are a bad idea but are more interested in keeping their jobs than speaking up with knowledge and experience. Donald is a bully and you have 2 choices. Accept or take the gloves off. Donald is a twice impeached, convicted criminal. I hope the 150+ million that voted for him never complain about the hardships that are on the way. Donald has been authentic from day 1 of his first campaign. I no longer buy American products nor will I set foot in country where half the population has no problem with his lack of empathy, lack of ethics, lack of morality. He isn't the problem so much as he has REVEALED a problem in American society.

His justification for his tariff fantasy is the trade of fentinyl across the border and the flow of illegal immigrants to the U.S. As Trudeau has stated, paraphrasing a well known and respected publication, the Wall Street Journal, that this is a very DUMB move! That is an understatement. This is clearly not about drugs or illegal immigrants, it never was. Trump is supposed to be smart? This latest revelation proves otherwise. Just look at how they treated Zelensky during his last visit to the oval office. That showed a complete lack of respect! I fear we are in for a dismal for years!

Trudeau you're a PM and when you disrespect the president publically you disrespect America, so you have no right to address the American people. You don't know how to handle politics and thats why your own people have verbalized that they want you gone! Your lack of respect for the President and the United States is what put you and your country in this situation in the first place. Tou're leaving out on a low. I’m a dual citizen of the USA and the UK and have been so disgusted by Trump, he projects evil, he’s smarmy and egotistical. I effectively spent a chunk of my childhood in America with relatives. I treasured these memories, but now all the feelings of wonder and happiness when thinking of my visits to America have faded. Now I just think of how selfish it was to sabotage Canada. American private equities want to rock our system and buy up all they can and so I am happy we are watching for this. I think Donald did this to try and buy up Canadian companies. This should be made illegal. This is not anti-American, it is just fighting back from an unnecessary trade war. It does however break my heart because many Canadians have family on the U.S. side. I know it would also break my father’s heart as he grew up in New England and had a lifetime affection for the U.S. I despise politics and have not been a proud Canadian for a few years but I have to admit that this speech is getting me going again. Canada needs to get its act together and rebuild its military, not to fend off the U.S. but to hold its own should other countries decide we are ripe for the picking.
