We Canadians are suckers if we're giving billions more to Ukraine. Trudeau needs to go now. As for the tariff, I think we need to strike back hard, and continue the boycott of US goods. If we could, would be great do cut off all energy going to the States, but thanks to Trudeau, we don't have cross country pipelines to do that. BTW, Canada is not responsible for what comes into your country, we're responsible to keep things out we don't want in. That's the way these things are supposed to work, we're not East Berlin.

The reality is: the US has reached a record high trade deficit with Canada. This deficit has grown steadily since 1976 (today it is just shy of $100 billion - meaning the US purchases $100 billion more worth of goods from Canada than Canada does from the US). The US imposing tariffs on Canada is a tactic to incentivize US companies who import goods from Canada to move manufacturing/production sourcing back to American soil. This promotes investment and expansion into the US economy. It will also incentivize Canada to commit to investing in the US economy. This would be a negotiation move by Trudeau: we (Canada) will commit to purchasing $25 billion (for example) dollars more of goods from the US if you agree to reduce the tariffs you've imposed on us to blank (maybe 5%). This is likely the end goal Trump is aiming for in the long run.

Anyone who ever was a victim of bullying understands exactly what is going on and how it will end for those who wants to appease/bend to the bully. Yes, it will be painful for Canada, extremely. But you have to get really sick in order to recover stronger than ever before. Trudeau always disappears during a crisis, leaving us to fend for ourselves - (1) COVID, he was at the cottage using every excuse not to be accountable for anything or using unconstitutional powers to crush a protest he didn't know how to handle, (2) Chinese spies, he's ignoring our intelligence service, (3) federal worker strike, he's in NYC at some gala.... I could go on but there's a reason we're hurting so bad.\n\nWe have zero federal leadership, and a federal government that makes things worse for us with things like: over-regulation, subsidizing media to keep us misinformed, nerfing select natural resource sectors but favoring others (oil and gas suffer, while coal is fine... probably because we sell it to China, but I digress), letting criminal out of jail, uncontrolled immigration, passing policies like the FHSA that drive home prices higher and higher, and of course, more and more taxes. I could go on about the billions in taxpayers' money the government blows - it's like a black hole - or the fact that MPs keep getting raises - April 1 is their fifth since COVID - and most federal and government employees are all getting raises at a time when the rest of us are learning to get by with less and less because we're taxed so much and housing, groceries, etc. are so unaffordable.\n\nI have applied for US citizenship. I want to stick around to fix Canada, but I think it's too far gone. We have too many socialists/communists in power and they're not getting voted out any time soon. All joking aside, Canada has been able to form a symbiotic relationship of mutual benefit with the United States since even before NAFTA 1. But.......... right now it is almost like a 51st state and I do not mean that in a joking way. US states are always competing with each other, but what prevents things like, oh say the American Civil war from happening is the Federal apparatus keeps them in line for the good of the empire as a whole. \n\n If Canada is like a 51st state, then it is competing with the other 50 states in a way that all 50 of them are going to get upset about. So either the states complain, or you treat Canada as an economic competitor. Mexico being behind the United States and Canada is what makes it a good candidate for a symbiotic relationship. For all its problems, Mexico has a Christian population (with some indigenous traits) that goes well with America. Their nations different economic status means we can support them and they can support us doing different things for countries of different development stages.\n\nCanada being so similar to the United States will want that as well and will never outbid the United States. Again this is seen as a hostile economic competitor. \n\nIts not Canada or Americas fault. After 2007 and the lies about fanny and Freddie, leman bros, mortgage backed security's, and a cash shortage that was not real. How was it real if the offshore exchanges did nothing? 2007 was not financial in origin it was our global monetary system seizing up. To say Wall Street greed and MBSs did it would be like saying a single drop of cement turned the ocean to cement.\n\nBut something did. Something turned the market from liquid to concrete, it happened in France decades before......\nFinancially packaged items could no longer be priced or traded.

Canada needs to stop living beyond its means. Get rid of un-necessary ministries, involvements in private sector that isn't mandated. A Canadian DOGE would be good too, to look line by line to get rid of waste, abuse, corruption. Do not feel sorry for Canada. I am Canadian. Canadians voted for the Liberal Socialist Government they have 3 times. The youth wanted marijuana legalized. I am a white Canadian have family and friends in the USA and I tried to move to the usa back in the early 2000's because I had a job could not do it because I was not allowed but it seems if you are other then white it is so much easier and everyone said I should go now because Trudeau is a dictator and that I am a law abiding Conservative that wants to leave Canada because our PM is nothing but a POS Liberal that is robbing the hard working real Canadians and cutting us off of having a good job because of DEI. These students can't complain about the student fee, Housing , food and living cost .\n\nU can blame trudue for lowering the standards for student visa. \n\nTo my knowledge from friends i know as students durring high-school vs students coming to study at college. \n\nPrior to this issue these a few mandatory requirements \n\n- parents most make over 200 k usd , and assets .\n\n- you must have xxx amount in usd dollars equivalent in your bank account and open a HSBC bank account with xxx amount \n\n - u must show you can afford for your child to stay at a mandatory homestay , all the associated cost staying and studying in canada for min 3 years \n\nJust passing the first 3 requirements, most ppl get rejected. \n\n- most leave the home stay due to culture differences and end up renting a 1 bed room condo. \nThat alone back in harper days was 20 k a year.\n\nMind you these students i met are from Vietnam, a 3rd world country where a university graduate with 2 degree will make only $500 usd which is consider a very good job . Its equivalent to5 k / month . \n\nSo thier dollar isn't worth much , for their parents to have that much money to send a 15 year old to study hs in a foreign country is a luxury only a selected few can dream of\n\nAlso none of them worked and work permit wasn't allowed. Even they were allow why would u when ur parents give u their debit card ~ visa card with allowance of 2- 3k to spend .\n\nInwould say 25% of these rich students go home within a year as they get home sick.\n\nToday standards\n\n- not many come as high school students as it's alot harder and still up hold strict standards as their still a minor. \n\n- college is easier route\nOnly have to prove u can afford the 1st. Well nothing like that, I live in Canada and can verify that. Problem is quality of immigrants, especially student is trash in Canada, Australia and Europe. They come to shady universities for studies, work full time both legally and illegally rather than studying and at end of their education, they have a fake degree with zero value. Just like most of the new graduates in India who have a degree with no practical value. \nIf you have a good degree, right skills in tech and some experience, there are tons of opportunities in Canada. I cuss Canada everyday but that's because I lived 10 years of life - studies and work in USA. So whether I move to Canada or any other country in the world, I would do the same as US has no equal in the world. I lived in US for 10 years, then India for 3 years and came to Canada 3 years back. I would still move to India after getting Canadian citizenship, but not because Canada has something bad or India has something exceptional to offer, but because I want to live with my parents in India. Thats the reason I left US but came to Canada to get a backup.

Lets keep i real. The desire that most immigrants have is homeostasis which is the familiar. All humans do this. Individually indians are usually smart and decent people. But in groups ( and this doesnt just include indians) you get this group thinking that is prejudice against anyone who isnt one of their own. Im fairly certain its a good demonstration of what a different culture would experience in their own country. These are attractive features of canada that play a role in why people want to come here. And leave where they were. Its it logical to think that you have more to learn about us then we do of you? Its that same inclusives mentality that keep the government corruption very small which empowers the citizens to make them successful and able to contribute more back into this system. The very nature of hoarding resources for ones family, same culture, etc are the same oppressive situations many of these people left their countries to seek better opportunities. But once given those opportunities and a chance to decide for themselves, a lot of these people use their liberties to create exclusion and hostility toward out groups. The indians do this in a very overt in your face way, the chinese are more polite about it but both have this way of looking out for their own and not being concerned with anyone else. As far as im conerned you should all be split up and dispersered to live in different provinces and cites. We love the good people of Canada and can’t wait to welcome them as the 51st State.\n\nThe tariffs are meant to crack down on Chinese exports moving through Canada and Mexico as middle men to avoid their own tariffs. Had both Canada and Mexico regulated the terms of our agreements better on “product origin” then none of us would be in this position. Furthermore, China smuggles drugs through both Canada and Mexico using resins that are chemically embedded with synthetic drugs. So, neither Canada nor Mexico should be climbing on any high horses when their exports are killing our people.

As for Mexico, they export to the US nearly 2x what they import from us, so they are still on the losing side. Just co-operate, simple. Why can't Canada put a double % on the US tariffs which makes from the US imported goods like cars so expensive that nobody will buy it. Yes it's a problem. Just buy those cars from Europe or Japan. There are also very great goods from Europe like the orange juice mentioned in the video. This is available in Europe and Northern Africa as well. Canada eh! Just switch the trading origins. A lot of us Americans remember learning about the tariff wars in history class that ended up in deciding fair trade was the better route. I fear we’re about to learn the same lesson again…\n\nAs far as the drug trade goes apparently the GOV doesn’t spend enough time on the internet because the cartels are no longer just in Mexico they’re in the USA and in Canada. They have learned the Canadian border is a lot easier to cross and they can get into BC pretty easily due to relaxed immigration policies In Canada.. they probably don’t actually know where the drugs are coming from or where they’re being manufactured entirely. If Trump was really smart he’d convince some factories to actually invest in Mexico with cooperation from the Mexican government investing in efficient transportation from the manufacturing sectors to the American border and the coasts for distribution. This would likely really help their economy and change the whole dynamic of all the things Trump has issues with. Fix it at the source not try to treat the symptoms.

Justin Trudeau's border plan of 1.3 billion over six to ten years is a joke! Tariffs on America after several US administrations tried to work with Canadian governments to stop provocations in trade, border security, immigration, and many other issues, only to fall on deaf ears or passive responses, not to mention Trudeau's derogatory comments about Trump being a racist. At the same time, Trudeau was caught having a history of wearing racist blackface.
