I don't think the average viewer knows why the US is doing this. The american economy doesn't rely on trade like Canada (67%), Mexico (73%) and China (37%). American trade accounts for only 24% of its massive GDP. if you removed all trade from america, it would still have larger economical output than china, mexico and canada COMBINED. yes. The problem with the way things have become here is that now people that have immigrated legally to Canada and are citizens are now becoming targets of hate and violence. I agree that once the visa is expired people need to go and honor what they signed for. We are also punishing those people who have done nothing wrong. This is really scary to see in our country. Hold government accountable for what they have done and ourselves accountable for who we elect and how we treat other human beings. We are all humans no matter skin color or where we are born so be kind to each other. Yes they need to follow the rules we have but we also need not be hate filled and violent, that is not what a Canadian is.

I worked in India for 6 years and then shifted abroad for a Masters, and now I am pursuing a fully funded PhD. In the UK, what I have observed is that the crop of students arriving from India are by the day lesser inclined towards studies and more in pursuit of the quick buck. Yes, getting a ‘UK based work experience’ is necessary to build the edge to compete against the wider international students post graduation and I have myself worked part-time in profiles which complimented my course in parallel to prioritising studies. However, the increasing trend amongst the masses (I do not want to generalise but yes this is unfortunately true and especially from certain states, the case is magnified: Read Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana) remains getting that student visa to earn quick buck to support themselves financially, chiefly, save up to dole out to so called ‘assignment writers’ which helps them pass the course to further graduate and transfer to a grad visa (again comes at a cost) which allows them 2 years worth of stay with no working hour stipulation post graduation. Thereon, work full time in laborious jobs with again not focussing on applying to full time opportunities in the field of study. Thus, what remains at the end of the day is lost time and opportunity and since I am only talking of people who come here on a Student VISA so primarily, the opportunity cost lost to upskill and further horizons. For the country’s perspective, getting cheap, skilled labour for an unskilled job is obviously an advantage but then there are cases of students not respecting their working hour restrictions, vandalising, bickering loudly, joining hands with the already operating extremist forces which instigate violence and hatred etc. In all, I think the resistance to not becoming bicultural which is a product of serious mental and physical toil and wasting time in frivolity is the main cause of the anti-immigration wave.

I came to Canada from India as an international student, worked hard to pay my tuition, and earned permanent residency through the express entry points system. It wasn’t easy—I had to balance studies, work, and adapting to a new country.\n\nI understand concerns about immigration, and yes, some take advantage of the system. I was born and raised in Canada and last august I left to move to the Czech Republic. If you’ve ever been there you’ll know it’s not the cheapest country and I live in the most expensive city. I still am able to afford to live off my not so high salary of an English teacher. I wouldn’t be able to afford living away from my parents in Canada, I’m not saying it’s been easy or cheap, I have 6 roommates and my rent is over 50% of my monthly salary. I had to take out a loan from my parents to afford all the visa fees and hidden costs of moving to another country. However if I had stayed in Canada I would have been earning less because I couldn’t find a job in my field. I am filled with rage about the governments decisions to mess up the country like they have. And yes we have an immigration problem but they are not the problem, it’s the government. My mother was an immigrant to Canada, and yes she’s doing okay right now but things have changed a lot since she immigrated and how Canada is now.

Canada is building a tonne of housing as is, a bit less than in the past, so yes, issues with the growth of red tape, zoning, development taxes, etc should be addressed, but the problem has mainly been that the population has been growing at an exponential rate, in the past decade. The construction workforce actually doesn't have that many immigrants - around 77% are Canadian born, compared to 73% of the overall workforce, and I suspect the 23% that are immigrants are probably mostly immigrants that have been here a while, with very few temporary workers (which are mostly in retail/commercial services, elder care, and agriculture). That means immigration has been a bigger problem for increasing housing demand, compared to any benefit to increasing the supply through increasing construction workforce, especially when you consider that the size of the construction workforce is proportional to the total population, while the housing demand is more correlated to population growth. \n\nThere is also the differentiation between expanding infrastructure/housing supply, vs improving/maintaining it. It would not be a bad thing if we were able to shift some of the construction workforce towards improving our stormwater infrastructure, fixing roads, and building transit alternatives (improves quality of life), rather than just building more and more new roads and homes just to keep up with population growth (maintains quality of life).

Canada wants immigrants so they can pay them cheap for meanial jobs that nobody wants to do. Period. All your efforts spent getting a degree in something will be worth nothing here. Period. Even if you consider yourself super smart with an IQ above average and think you can defy the system, think better: yes you can go to school here and get your degree recognized, but is gonna take a lot of time and money, you'll probably have to work two jobs under shitty weather and pay the rent for an apartment not bigger than a shoebox, not to mention the college fees. Is it worth it? After 15 years spent here first as an immigrant and now as a citizen, I still have to understand what makes Canada so appealing to people. But then I came from Europe, where life is easy and relaxed, so I guess my point of view is biased.

I support post secondary schools charging more to immigrants and foreign students. My university that I’m currently at charges a $2500 registration fee to international students. I a Canadian born citizen do not pay anything to register. I only pay for my classes. My university is also made up of mostly foreign students by charging foreign students more. It allows Canadians to be charged less so yes, I support schools charging more to foreign students.

i'm happy there are people here who agree, but having your voice heard only as a youtube comment is not the answer. do you know how countries in europe managed to get ahead in healthcare? patients went to the press with recorded videos about their experience. and yes, initially the journalists dismissed this as non news, but it only needed one to go with it. and it made waves. now a 2hr wait in the ER in europe is met by the tv crew. \ncanadians refuse to do it. when i came to canada 25 years ago a 2hr wait was normal. now it's 9hrs and still no discontent voices. no politician is running on healthcare, but on cutting taxes and on giving back a few hundred dollars a year back to the families. and most are eating it up! \nbecause healthcare is public, doctors and their union have 0 incentive of allowing more professionals into the system, because they all share the same pie. there are families who do not have a family doctor and are forced to use clinics, even with newborn babies. my family doctor works a regular job, doesn't answer the phone after 3:30 (even though they are open until 4), has 2-half days (one is a golf day btw) and overall couldn't give a F about patients. on that high salary in any other industry, you'd be on call 24/7. \nand then there's housing, jobs, the education system is a mess - more and more people are worried about what these kids are learning and there is 0 incentive from any of the politicians to address the issue.\nand, of course, there is forced immigration. when we came it used to be a merit system, you had to bring in money to prove you won't be a burden to welfare for at least a year. it's definitely not the case now. \npeople look at PP as some kind of saviour, but he's not going to fix anything. usually conservatives are good for corporations, whilst liberals balance their policies with the needs of the common folk. how far they've fallen.

Immigration and immigration policies does not include illegal immigration. Do we need to massively overhaul the laws to make it easier and open it up, yes.

It decreased because those who were in favor for illegal immigration started to realize these people got to stay there at their cost. That's the thing about these massive supporters. They were all like, yes, let's welcome millions of these people in. It's morally the right thing to do, right? Yes, yes it is. Problem is these people now need resources allocated to them. Resources that previously were granted to you, so people started seeing that and are suddenly all like: Wait a sec, why is my life suddenly so much worse? Why can't i find a job? Why is my taxmoney going towards hosting illegals while i live paycheck to paycheck? Funny how as soon as it started to bite into their budget and quality of life their moral superiority seemingly just vanished.

Yes, you can deport them but do you really want to?\nThe whole purpose of not legalizing them is because you need them to fill the jobs that no one wants to do ! \nYou can reduce the people who get welfare and housing for free,and that's all,but those are legal immigrants!

There are a lot of scammers around the world. It is in your duty to identify them and never fall as prey. It's not Canada's fault that you are getting deported for false information. Scammers are getting better every time. It is your duty to do your own research so you won't get involved into this mess. Yes Canada immigration also needs to screen the application very carefully so this type of nonsense will not come to pass. If you fall prey to scammers that is your own fault for not doing the right thing or even following the right process. You guys like it easy then Canada will make it also easy for you. DEPORTATION. I am an immigrant myself and we followed every single steps to become an offcial canadian citizen. It took me years to become a citizen. And I am not just talking about 3 or 4 years later, but 10 years later coming from a skilled worker.

Yes the woke media thinks that Canadians should assimilate to the immigrants coming here but they don’t think the immigrants should assimilate to Canada. That won’t end well for Canada. If you moved to a different to a country you would be expected to assimilate to their culture and values, and you would out of respect. Canadians should expect the same level of respect. I don’t think they need to give up all their traditions but they do need to adapt to ours too. The good news though is that I believe that a lot of the younger Muslims coming to Canada will adapt to our values and culture because they are craving freedom:)

Yes, illigal immigrants should be deported. Not only because of criminal activities, but they siphon US resources intended to help US citizens. They came illegally, yet they are rewarded for their illigal activity.
