No reason the population of this country should be more than 35M ppl. Canada should not be accepting a single immigrant until the population goes down to 35M.

Lot of people....the original citizens feel the burn since the world around them is changing. It's natural that they harbor these ill feelings. Most of them are ill informed and have these racist views. It's true for every immigrant community that emigrated from Europe as well. You have Irish immigrant towns, little Italy's, China towns, little India's, polish neighborhoods in Chicago etc ...these kind of neighborhoods are all over north America (USA & Canada). This is natural. Assimilation happens in 1 or 2 generations. Economic expansion and fulfilling social security benefits for the older generation needs population growth and a new younger workforce. This is achieved thru immigration of skilled labor force of all kinds. Population dynamics and demographics keep changing all the time and it has happened thru out human history. Now we are living in an interconnected and inter dependent world. It's better to adapt to change and move on and retain your loyalty to the country they migrated to and contribute positively to their economy and try to assimilate as much as possible and be aware of the sensitivities. This new immigration is from Asia and they are of different ethnicities and cultural background unlike european immigration that happened earlier. So some backlash to these new people's is to be expected and there will be lot of scapegoating and stereotypical epithets that will employed to demonize the new immigrant groups. We all have to adjust assimilate and move on in this great circle of life.

The problem is not the immigrants. The problem is with Canadian leaders, and the Canadians who elected and reelected them to office. I lived in Nova Scotia for just over 2 decades. As a Brampton raised kid, I lived there from 97' till about 2023, I'm caribbean and we have a large indian/muslim/hindu population too on our island. (Trinidad) and the issue with Brampton is: Indian people will gladly intergrade, but Canadian borns won't welcome it. Walk with me- I'll use food for an example. Every other grocery store is middle eastern/asian/african in Brampton and its becomes harder finding more western style food. I love international food, I cook it often but if you're used to burgers and pizza and only know how to make spaghetti it feels like a 'take over' These people want what they want and even though all these places are free for you to also enjoy they don't like it cause it's too 'foreign' to them. It doesn't mean there isnt still a No Frills or a Walmart or Metro, but because the african and halal store are closer and more frequent it seems like more of a convenience to others and not to you. When people say we're multi-cultural, they mean 'yeah he's brown or black but he keeps it to himself' They aren't going to go to that Sikh temple giving free food, and only go to the church at the beginning even though they're welcome to both. It's the same for Diwali and other things, white people dont care to be interested in those things, and just wonder why they get to have it at all. I do agree with that indian lady at the beginning though, with lax immigration you come in feeling like you don't need to do anything to assimilate. The birth rate in Canada is 1.3 per couple. In 1961 it was 3.1 per couple. Coincidentally, this was the same time as the availability of the first birth control pill. It’s been on a downward trend ever since. Populations can’t sustain themselves. Most western countries have the same problem. So we immigrate, and the countries with the highest birth rates will eventually take over the countries with the lowest it’s a sad reality.

Learn from Gulf countries open your markets let young, educated people come to your country establish businesses, provide you services and if possible, they will bear children for you to increase your population. As someone who is born in Canada as an Indian. This is absolutely sad to here. I want the best for Canadians who are born and raised here. I have 10 years of experience working in the nation I was raised and I am having some people have my job who aren't even fit for the job. It makes no sense to me. Our wages have stalled due to international students for a better life, but at the end I want money just like other Canadians who have been here for ages. Also we need to end why our government allows lucrative hiring contracts overseas for cheaper positions in certain degrees and diplomas. In addition, why are all of our call centers placed all over the world. From Africa, south east Asia, South Asia. Those jobs can be available here. We can have a decomcratic country if our country didn't care about just "growth" we didn't need more immigration. We needed systematic change in government, schools, common sense, I could go on. I think us as Canadians don't know how corrupt the world really is. Look at other countries and how they work. It's lucrative essentives to benefit only certain people. I would rather have our tax payer money be used to fix the system. My dad's been here since the 1980s and he is sad for everyone. This is a loss on both ends. We didn't create new universities, new highways to support the population, no hospitals, new schools. I remember when my class sizes were 18 to 20 kids. We need change, not radical because we were never that. Let's do what we do best and be Canadians for us first.

Canadian that spent 16 years in Japan. I went as an individual. I stayed as an individual. Married a Japanese. Came back to Canada for a pension and can't wait to leave. I were in Japan and if I saw a group of Canadians arrive expecting Japan to change for them, I would have been severely pissed off with them. In Malaysia, Malays rule despite being the smaller population. They have more Chinese and Indians there but they have to live under the rule of the native Malays. So you will have to do the same in Canada despite if your population is larger. You adapt to this country. The country doesn't convert to accomodate you. Individuals are key. Groups are the bane of all countries.

8:30 I don't buy it. They say we "have" to increase population because Canada has an aging population? Why? What wpuld happen if we don't? Increased quality of life? More affordable cost of living? Workers actually being valued and needed instead of competing for not even enough jobs? Oooh, so scary. Whatever they thought would happen, I don't see how it could have been worse than what we have now. How is getting millions of Tim Hortons and Walmart workers helping the aging population? It doesn't. The explanations don't make sense. 9:25 bs!!! How could they possibly think this? Their position is that since there was a population explosion in the 40's, now every future generation has to explode their population as well, or else there will be too many old people? Come on. It's too ridiculous to take seriously. Now since the rate isn't the same as the 40's they decide let's just import from countries that are massively over populated.... and become more like them. Like... NO!!! This is not what I want from life or for our world.

Old man, it isn't about color of your skin. It is about your culture that's not compatible with ours. You didn't come here to assimilate and to be Canadian. You came here to build India, to take over Canada. There is almost 1,5 billion of you in India. Even if 100 milion of you come to Canada it won't make a dent in India's population, but Canada will perish. You don't want to assimilate because you cherish your culture. We also cherish our culture. Why do we have to accommodate to yours? You don't respect us, you want to marginalize us in our own country.

All high trust societies around the world are being destroyed. Division and strife is being cultivate by design. A population divided can not come together to oppose the government. The trucker convoys in Canada is EXACTLY what they are trying to prevent. That's why the Canadian govt came down so hard on the truckers. It's happening to all western countries at the same time for the same reason. We are the greatest threat to the globalist powers maneuvering to rule the world.

I live in Brampton, i am all for diversity but where is the diversity if everyone is Indian. I am French originally and i am in a minority of one! Let's be clear, the massive Indian increase in the population is due to Trudeau's immigration policy, the indians did not jump over the border as some of the comments suggest, they mostly came here legally, and this was done without broad agreement of the Canadian population as a whole. Canadian population went from being 30 million inhabitants to 40 millions in just over a decade, a massive population increase in a short time due mostly to Indian immigration with huge impact on housing , cost of housing, infrastructure, jobs, taxes, etc... The liberals have a lot to answer for the disaster which Canada has become in the last 10 years and yes they got rid off Trudeau, but they are still in power, stiffling the potential economic growth of Canada which should be a rich country instead of being a country where many people live from pay cheques to pay cheques.

Canada's population is now almost 10% Indian, maybe more if we can accurately count the ones illegally staying in the country (trust me there's lots). That is THE HIGHEST percentage of Indian population from any non-Hindu/Muslim majority country, and second in TOTAL only to the United States, who has 10x our population. Think about that.

Immigration has increased because the government needs more people for the economy. The population 25+ years ago was enough to keep with the costs and demand. Now, Canada probably has a lot of demand and needs an influx of people both for education and jobs. Indians are enticed to come because they hear about towns that cater towards Indians like Brampton. Chinese people used to be the majority of immigrants and that was because Chinatowns would cater to them. Not to mention, these immigrants likely have temporary worker or student visas. These an whole thing with the student visas but I don't want to get into it. So Amazon and other large companies need a lot of workers for their demand and look outside of Canada to fill the job numbers. Meanwhile, Canadians that have been here for awhile are on the streets and jobless. So basically, Canada needs immigration for its demand but I think when too many people come all at once and from usually one country, Canadians will notice the change and feel the tensions that come with it.
