I’m an Indigenous American here, I say if Canada was really our friend then they would understand that they have been taking advantage of our countries kindness for too long and it’s time they step up.. If us trying to do something good for our own country for one time instead of everybody else and it’s a problem like this then maybe we weren’t friends anyway.. That means u were only friendly bc u were taking advantage.. \nPlenty of other countries has decided to pick up their own slack and it’s time Canada and America and the other countries start focusing more on their own citizens.. \nThis man is ready to send Canadian soldiers to die in Ukraine right now for something that has nothing to do with them and now instead of negotiating an agreement it’s all about relation and hurting your own people to get back at others over something you took personally..\nI always liked Trudeau but if that’s how he feels about our country then that’s how we feel about his.. \nwe don’t care about Canada anymore except justing Bieber and Linus media group.. everyone else can go lol..

Even before the actions taken by Canada, one should look at balance of Fentanyl illegal trade. \n \nOn average 46 lb of Fentanyl were smuggled from Canada to US , which divided by the population of the US comes to a 0.049 mg of fentanyl per US Citizen \nOn the other direction, 950 lb Fentanyl were smugeled from the from US to Canada, which when divided by the population of Canada, ends up being 10.88 mg of fentanyl per Canadian Citizen\nNow, scientists say 2 mg is a lethal dose. \nJust think about it, trump's US could kill each Canadian 5 times over by Fentanyl. \nSo who is supposed to be pissed?

Canada has known for decades that we have put too many eggs in one basket - selling our resources primarily to the USA. We've had tariffs before and worked with them. Yet we still keep selling to the USA. This time is different. In conjunction with the tariffs, we have an American administration that is flat out insulting Canada. Saying we wouldn't exist economically if it wasn't for the USA. It's at a time when the USA won't promise not to use military force to annex land (Greenland) from a decades old ally. A time when clearly Putin is calling in his chips for whatever he has over Donald Trump. Canadians have had enough. We are directing our governments, provincial and federal, to finally, finally break from the north-south trade links. We need to establish stronger east-west trade links. The resources we have are wanted by many countries if the USA does not want them. It does mean much work within Canada. We need to get our AB-BC pipeline finished as well as the new sea terminal so we can ship our crude oil and natural gas to Japan and if need be, to China. We finally need to get out pipeline to the Atlantic coast finished so we can supply the UK and EU with our products. We need to double our rail capacity for shipping potash, uranium, rare minerals to Asia or Europe. Just as Trump hopes for a golden age of American companies coming home and building new plants in the USA, this will be a golden decade for Canada to create transportation corridors to get our resources to other buyers. America will have to look elsewhere for his raw materials. And we all know what that is - RUSSIA. They've already offered their rare minerals and crude oil. This is all clearly a well thought out scenario from the people working behind Trump to dismiss America's allies and trading partners - have us turn against the USA - as the excuse to open the door to Russian imports into the USA.

President Trump can forgive Zelenskyy, but he should NEVER forgive Justin Trudeau, he’s the one who opened up the Northern Border and let all these millions of Illegal Indian nationals to the country! Also another major abuse, which gets unnoticed, is the TN (Trade Nafta) visa, every year nearly 50,000 Canadians (mostly, 95% Indians) moves to America and steal high paid American jobs. It’s high time to stop this abuse, Indians are using this short route to immigrate to the US, high time to put an end to it!

The ChiComs, working with their Liberal minions, have made sure that any election will be rigged. Trump is trying to save Canada because he will send Troops into Canada to eject the Chinese military. He wants to do it with laws by getting Canada to join the USA. If that does not happen, he will use the military to do it, and Canada will be seen as the enemy of the USA allied with China. Trudeau admitted that without the welfare the USA has been providing to Canada, your economy will collapse. The Bank of Canada is bankrupt. The Canadian dollar is about to collapse. How will you feel next year when you need two dollars to buy what one dollar buys now? And plan on having fewer dollars to start with because your carbon tax, your sales tax, your income tax are all going up. WAY up. This is what happens when you decide to compete with a USA that is unshackled. The USA can produce more of our own oil than we can use, and we will sell the extra to YOUR foreign customers cheaper than you can produce it. Then you will be BEGGING for a pipeline. So Trump invited Canada to become a member of the most successful and powerful union of sovereign states in history, something that even our own territories of Guam, Puerto Rico, and all the others do not have. An invitation to be a bona fide member. Why do you think that is? Minerals? The USA has all the minerals we need. We have more oil, coal, and natural gas than any nation also, and we can produce and refine it cheaper than any country can. So Canada was invited to become a state so Trump could peacefully eject the ChiComs from North America. And did you accept? No. Did you say no thank you? No. You gave us the finger and said f&$k you to Trump. We hear you Canada. But now is not the time for pain, that comes later.

Maybe building a Boarder Wall on America's Northern Boarder would be a good idea. Canada is responsible to guard our boarders and allow in only those who we feel qualify. Canada does not close it's boarders to those who wish to leave, nor does the United States close it's boarders to those who wish to leave. The United States is free to put up a wall and a boarder crossing anywhere you wish, stop whoever you want to stop from entering your country. I can tell you that The fastest Boarder Wall that I have ever seen go up is the one that Trump just raised between the United States and Canada, the Tariff Wall. What you have done is put signs on our shelves, buy Canadian. You have taken American Product from the top shelf, to the verry bottom shelf, behind the Made in China. You have closed the Travel Agencies to United States travel, nobody wants to go to your country, and I heard that there is going to be a 250% Tariff on hotel accommodations for Americans visiting Canada. It is not only about the Tariffs on Canada, who Used to be your friends, it is about your new friend Russia, who support Terrorist organizations all over the world, including the ones in Gaza who held Americans Hostage, who supports IRAN who supports Russia in murdering and raping women, kidnapping children in Ukraine, torturing and murdering citizens with their hands tied behind their backs. If this is what America supports, if this is what America does to its Ally's, I hope the taps for the oil and the switch for the electricity are turned off, and we never have to worry about each other ever again.\n\nCanada is a country with an Area roughly the size of the United States, with a population 340 Million is 8 1/2 times larger than Canada at $40 Million, with a GDP 9 1/2 times larger than Canada. Why would you call President Trump stupid? Stupid, you just called the majority of Americans stupid because they voted for him. You are stupid.\nI'm Canadian. If Trudeau wanted to look out for Canadians, he would have done all the things Trump asked for long before Trump asked. He would have done it for Canadians. Could Canada Win a Trade War?\n Trump has waged Economic War on Canada in order to bring us to our knees so that we will eventually capitulate to become the 51st state.\n\n Had he come in a nice way, as a friend verses a foe, he would have had a lot more interest, especially from Alberta. \n\n Now that we are here, the question has to be asked, can we actually win a trade war that has probably been extensively war-gamed by the U.S.?\n\n Our politicians want us to go toe to toe with a 900 lb gorilla. The U.S. economy is at least 10 times our size and are less dependent on our trade than we are. We may give them a black eye but they could rip our arms and legs off. \n\n Retaliatory tariffs play into their hands. It’s the perfect excuse to increase the tax to 50 or 100%. So will we do the same? This would devastate us, achieving their goals.\n\n Canadians are already fighting back without the government making things worse. People are boycotting U.S. goods en masse and cancelling travel plans, etc. and this is already having a strong effect.\n\n Some say turn off the electricity and oil, but who will pay price? It will be the businesses and employees, not the politicians who are now trying to act tough. If we want this to turn into a real kinetic war, then turning off the taps may do it. \n\n We have seen countless times where politicians tell us what we want to hear, making us think they are heading is a certain direction, only to find they do the exact opposite. We are all living in strange times! The bad guy (Putin) is defended like he’s the good guy and the victim (Zelensky) is criticized like he’s the aggressor. Yet this is so ironic because Leonid Brezhnev, who was the USSR leader, when Russia invaded the sovereign nation of Afghanistan, and Vladimir Putin was a young KGB agent at that time, working for Brezhnev, is now in his position as leader, and he invaded Brezhnev’s sovereign homeland of Ukraine. Brezhnev must be weeping from hell and regretting his invasion of Afghanistan! Crying from hell, seeing his servant, Putin, in his seat of authority, and invading his homeland like he did to Afghanistan, I’m sure Brezhnev regrets but it’s too late now. He’s burning in hell and he can’t get out of hell! \n\nThe bad deal that Clinton and Yeltson and John Major dealt to Ukraine in the 1990s when they moved all of her nuclear weapons to Russia was like declawing the Ukrainian cat and now the cat can’t defend herself against aggressors because she has no claws to defend herself from aggressive attackers!\n\nCanada and Mexico are our friends not our enemies! China and North Korea still idolize the USSR/CCCP flag and Soviet Union hammer and sickle. Putin is a thug and gangster like Joseph Stalin. Everyone forgot what happened to Alexander Litvinenko except for those like John Bolton. \n\nWe are all living in perilous times! The wrongdoer (Putin) is called good and the victim (Zelensky) is called bad! This is so negatively bizarre and wrong! Isaiah 5:20 warns against this! Putin is not pure evil but he’s definitely not a good guy! He’s a gangster and thug like Al Capone! I think President Trump is walking on a tight rope by trying to make a good deal with Putin. And that tight rope spans from one high rise building to another - the senate and house chambers of the US legislature. The midterms are coming soon and if President Trump loses the house and senate, that tight rope could snap! And all those shock and awe executive orders etc. could come back to haunt him like a boomerang thumping his head.\n\nNever in my wildest imagination would I ever imagine Canadians harboring bad feelings towards the USA! This is 180 degrees opposite of how things were when Ronald Reagan and Brian Mulroney were in the political arena!

This blowhard deserves respect from no one. He talks tough now because he will soon be stepping down as PM. As a Canadian, I am ashamed that my country elected this tyrant three times. Canada is in no position to lecture ANYONE on governance.

Great, unambiguous words by the Canadian president! But one of his remarks stood out: he said that the tyrants want to divide us. He is correct, of course. But the implications are profound! This means that Trudeau himself is measuring his words and deliberately using diplomatic language. He even says that Trump is “intelligent”, which only plays into the imbecile’s unfortunate NPD psychology! The unwillingness to stand strong against American tyranny is harming democracy worldwide! Force Trump to declare a side! And make him choose Putin or democracy NOW!! If you fail to do that, you are taking the path of accommodation, and if Trump is really a tyrant (which he surely is, because of MANY evidences!!), democratic countries weaken their position by not standing strong NOW. If Europe and Canada and Mexico ban Tesla imports and place 50% tariffs on tens of billions of dollars of American products, what would happen? Are these countries AFRAID of the United States? This is not the time for fear! This is the time for courage! Boycott!!!

I would like to thank all the kind words from all over the world I see here. We as Canadians really appreciate it. It's going to be a tough time ahead for this country, but if no one else will stand up to Trump, we will.

I dont know. Twice , Ive met Canadians down here in the states. And right off both times they were complete assholes to me. We Canadians may not agree with this trade war, but our bond with the Americans people runs deeper than politics. We've fought side by side in wars, stood together in times of crisis, and built friendships that no tariff can break. We may clash on trade, but never on our shared history, values, and respect for one another. Allies yesterday, today, and always. ??❤??

Maybe he should discuss the constant duty fees and border crossing fees for anything shipped from Canada to the USA that have been constantly rising for years; fees that his very own government sets. Maybe he should talk about Canada demanding that anyone that sells anything foodwise to anyone in Canada from the USA has to have a special Safe Food For Canadians Food License or the goods being shipped will be rejected at the US owners cost, seized by the border and held in storage at the US owners cost, and destroyed and billed to the US owner. A license that no one actually needs considering other legal and ethical controls are in place to prevent unsafe foods from crossing the border, but Canada reserves the right to make us pay for one or we suffer consequences. Maybe he should discuss how they left their borders open to migrants, making it much easier for criminal migrants to get into the US. Maybe he should understand that the US has always been bleeding money to Canada on a trade level for about half a century with it getting much worse in the last decade because Canada's government are greedy. Before any of you come at me, keep in mind I work in the food ingredient industry as an order processing, logistics and customs & border crossing and have done so for 15 years. These tariffs were a long time coming and if any of you are on the inside of trade in the manner I am, then you know what I'm saying is true. The US is constantly paying additional tariffs by way of duty fees, customs fees, certain applied taxes (like there is literally a blueberry tax to ship US grown blueberries into Canada to prevent US blueberries from taking over the Canadian blueberry market). The blueberry tax is about 25cents per lb. which drives the price per lb. up for the seller and buyer. You wanna know why Food costs so much? All of the above with a huge side helping of GREED.

I used to love to drive to Ontario and it was SO easy through Detroit, Niagara, etc. But the thing NO ONE is talking about is the ability to get a BOAT or using a FERRY to cross the border all the time. I have spent quite a bit of time in USA and I always find my experience split. For the most part the people and places are great. As a filmmaker I have shot in NYC, California, Mississippi to name a few. The people were always accommodating and friendly. One time a gentlemen and his wife that allowed us to film in his property would bring us hot chocolate at night, then offered to shoot anyone who got in our way. I was also filming in the desert in 2009 and I almost got shot in the face by a group of police officers that charged in guns out and tempers raging, before realizing that we had film permits and were scheduled to be on site. Only to have the crew say that if I was black they would have shot first and asked questions later. I have plenty of American friends and know a lot of Canadians that live in the US. I just hope things settle between our two nations soon. Where do you live? We just can't build a wall for the whole huge Canadian border. Also, they are still crossing over the Mexican border state of the art wall/fence with ladders. The ONLY solution is to have a huge border patrol force that will be guaranteed to catch and arrest all illegal aliens. Then, the illegal aliens will be either instantly deported after paying a significantly large fine to the US Treasury OR if they cannot or won't pay the fine, sentenced to a dentention camp for a set length of time as a punishment, maybe one year of hard labor and minimalistic amenities-that is, NO MORE EBT cards, no more lux hotels. Once their detention sentence is completed, they will be quickly and efficiently deported to either their own country of origin or Canada or Mexico. IF it's done right, I don't think there will be many repeat offenders.
