Can you imagine Canadians & Americans meeting on a battlefield? It's like that scene in Braveheart, we start charging at each other screaming only to abruptly stop midway and greet each other and share a laugh. We may have little control over it but we won't let politics & politicians pit us against each other.

The sooner we Americans accept that Donald Trump is essentially batshit crazy and proceed to impeach the Orange Menace, the better off everyone in the world will be. Except of course, Russia. The more pressure great democracies as Canada exert upon Trump internationally, the more the U.S. economy (and Americans ourselves) will suffer. The more we Americans suffer, the more pressure will be exerted upon Trump domestically, and the more the U.S. Congress will bilaterally be pressured to impeach Trump. A lot of Canadians might not agree with me, but the Prime Minister is among the greatest democratic leaders of our time in contrast with the USA's new dictator-in-waiting. He has taken hundreds of billions of dollars from the US and has no plan for peace in his nation…Pres Trump says enough is enough, and he is trying to not only end the war, but recoup massive amounts of money we wrongly gave through a deal for natural resources. Sounds like a plan that’s good for everyone involved, and that’s how you make deals! We cannot give whst we do not have & with our debt , we cannot afford to keep printing money, devaluing the dollar, and giving it away at the expense of hard working N Americans!

I hope Canada realizes the American public may have voted for the president by a margin of votes but not all Americans support the tarrifs nor are the tarrifs on Mexico wanted.

Make America Pay More Again! As disruptive and asinine as Trump's economic schemes may be, it's sadly necessary that AMERICANS (we are often a very self-centered and blissfully uninformed people) feel the consequences of their vote as soon as possible. Americans MUST feel the pain to grasp the gravity of what a tit-for-tat tariff tiff between the US and Lord-knows-what-nation-Donald-will-go-after-next won't likely end well for us. It is what it is, and Trump is what he is. The whole world has no choice but to let all this nonsense unfold.

Who will pay the tariffs?? Yup, grassroot americans that soon may find the price of the fruits imported from Mexico jumps up 25% and also the oil price + raw minerals imported from Canada would jump 25% as well, which at the end, would seriously affects the price of end products of some daily items needed by grassroot americans

As Americans , we may be prepared to take price increases vs getting our youth killed by drugs.

President Donald Trump has stated that he will improve the United States economy with massive deportation of undocumented migrants\n, layoffs of government workers , deep cuts in social security benefits for disabled citizens or the elderly , and reduction of medicaid . \n However , a significant number of Americans are unaware that Trump is also planning to reduce the taxes for the rich , and give billions of more money to Israel or engage in unwinnable wars in West Asia . It should also be noted that Trump's theories to make America great again will have a disastrous effect on the economy or on life in the United States, especially because he is also about to start a trade war by significantly increasing tarrifs or duties on imported goods and products from China, Canada and Mexico \nAs a result, the Trump plan for the next four years may simply make America poor again.

the fact is that those who transition have to take hormonal treatments for the rest of their life. regardless of the qualities someone who is trans may have placing them in military units create problems. in addition there is the fact that transitioning may have other long term health effects that would raise the cost of medical benefits for our soldiers and veterans. this is not the simple issue of discrimination based on sexual identity that CNN wants to portray it as. whether we have a tax based economy or a tariff economy in the future up until now it is the American taxpayer that has had to fund military expenses including health care for our soldiers and veterans.

Canada has exposed itself to criminals from various countries starting with India who are manipulating relaxed visa requirements. In addition there are no consequences for crime committed. \n\nAdd to that currently majority of employers are opting to hire students and refugees as it is easy to control behaviours. Provincial and federal governments are complicit and in process subjecting Canadians to hardships. \n\nWith American tariffs are on the verge of being forced on the country which in turn will deteriorate living conditions and as a result may cause chaos.\n\nCanada needs to gets its act together and deport majority of these students and refugees or be prepared to suffer.

You guys are incorrect on what happens when the US raises tariffs on certain items from Colombia. Do you think American importers will continue to import highly tariffed commodities like bananas and coffee?! No they find other countries and other sources because consumers won’t pay 50% more on coffee and bananas. Guess what what Russia and North Korea are doing? ISOLATED to death on their economy.
