We left Canada at the end of 2021 and for some of same reasons he mentions .we are retired so not quiet the same I would point out something in defence of the province we called home for 40 yrs that I think deserves a mention . Yes winters are long and cold as anyone living in Vancouver are always happy to talk about .but it has always been a great place for young ppl to get ahead financially or it was until Trudeau got in . I see this done a lot but there's a big difference between correlation and causation. Your Rbc example shows the top people all white, including women I may add. It's this kind of media manipulation that creates an inaccurate impression.\nNow, for the indigenous, yes, there is systemic racism. I’d add complacency as another point. I guess that falls under the rules point. Canada always seems to not strive to be anything, as long as we have enough, everyone doesn’t seem to care. Low productivity, extremely regulated business laws, high taxes for relatively poor services and extremely misaligned immigration numbers are seriously hampering progress and economic growth for the individual. The government loves to brag that the economy is growing, but per capita income hasn’t moved or is shrinking. They self sabotage every way they can, especially with funding the green transition and by slapping everyone with carbon taxes, that are only going to keep on increasing without any actual proven emissions reductions

The cuts were targeted to preserve wealth for the middle and lower classes.\n\nI could go on for another 100 pages but you get the idea and I get crabby writing for free.\n\nI will leave you with the caution that it’s best if you doubt and question any data and any stats coming from our government. Those are seldom legit. If the data comes from a study, always look to see who paid for it. And how large the sample size was; how were the participants selected? I have a back friend in Canada. She always said she prefers Canadian racism to American racism because at least with Canadian racism you get universal \nhealthcare.

Sadly, this is nothing new. Canada has always been discriminatory towards African Americans. I have experienced it myself many years ago and Im sure its only gotten worse. Racism is prevlent all over sadly and I dont see things changing for the better.

Racism happens to a lot of races here in Canada and around the world and I think will always be the case. My mom came from the Philippines and worked two jobs back to back for 17 years and was bullied so badly by East Indians because they ran her work place but she had to stay strong and deal with that among other things while growing up but is still grateful to Canada until this day. My ex girlfriend of many years was Congolese but grew up in Kenya and yes I felt racism on her part when we were together and it was frustrating and sad but again it came from all races not just white people. She is still grateful for Canada and always stayed strong and didn’t let these idiotic attitudes tear her down. Hopefully things will change in the world but the state it is in right now doesn’t seem to be the case.

I don't know if this is all true... I have been all over Canada province's and always treated like a celebrity, opening doors, compliments, and hospitality, especially in Edmonton, where I spent over a week at the biggest mall in the world. I know they don't like Asians with the biggest complaints of them taking over buying up all the land. I have tons of Canadian friends who have never treated me badly but respectfully.

I was born in Canada and my family has been here for generations..Racism is alive everywhere sadly, but dont think its all white people. Ive been verbally mistreated by black and native people who simply dont like white people. Its very tiresome but i always fight back WITHOUT resorting to the same racism they hit me with

People think that Canada is racism free utopia and its not. People always want to talk about the US. And yes the US has a long way to go,but at least it's vocal. My mom used to say let me know right off the bat that you don't like me,don't be sneaky with it. Canada,the UK and western Europe always try to say that racism is an American problem. I had always heard and thought that canada was diverse and more inclusive than the US and other places. It's sad that anytime we think about doing anything outside of our community we have to consider how being black will affect our experience.

People from Canada often travel to Australia and then want to move there permanently. The grass always looks better on the other side. However Australia has its problems too. Great weather and friendly people, but it's expensive to live. Jobs may be scarce in some areas, and there are problems of sexism, racism, crime, loneliness, and poverty too.

I’ve been saying this for 40 years during my travels in Canada. My kids mom is white and from Toronto.I definitely saw issues going back to the seventies. People at the border coming and going always made it difficult to pass through.

In my opinion, if not just because of long time waiting for ILR and housing issues in UK, I will always prefer UK to Canada. Canada will give you easy PR but even with the PR, it will still take many years to achieve your dream in your profession. UK ILR takes time but within those times you must have achieved what you want. Some people that relocated to UK as ordinary carer have become registered nurses even before they get their ILR. UK needs patience and at last you will be glad. The issue is that many people want it so fast. They prefer getting PR faster than growing in their profession. That's why they prefer Canada.

Not that many people in the developed world are shopping for an alternative country. So I imagine most Americans and most Canadians will be content with their nation of birth. But as a Canadian, I have to admit I'm a bit scared of the US. The level of violent crime down there is such that _many_ (not all) people feel they need guns for personal security. American prison rates testify to a level of desperation and alienation that is _not_ appealing to me. I don't want to live somewhere where owning a deadly weapon seems like a sensible idea! Also, as a struggling creative/entertainment person, I can't guarantee I'll be consistently earning good money – there are plenty of lean times in my biz. I don't want to be repeatedly worrying about my health coverage disappearing, whenever work dries up. I've never had that type of anxiety in Canada, and I sure appreciate that. Btw, although the Canadian health system is a long way from perfect, I've always managed to get appropriate care, according to my needs, quickly enough, at no cost to myself. And currently, I really like my GP _and_ my specialists!

Wow! That was wild. Here in San Ysidro everything was calm and actually civil. People waited their turn. I live nearby so I saw it with my own eyes. People at las Americas outlet would pass by food to them and the officers gave them the food. I was an immigrant 35 years ago I am now a us citizens and although I love the USA, I will always remember the struggles I had to go through. The hunger, the injustice, the reject and the cultural assimilation, learning a new language, and work work work until I couldn’t no more. All those efforts paid off and I believe EVERYONE has a right to have a better life. I have family members in Canada and Europe who are also immigrants and also go through these struggles. If they don’t make it to the USA, I hope the Mexican government takes advantage of this immigration influx, after all, the USA is great because of us. It’s time other countries take advantage and advance as well ??
