It's not even just in Brampton even 1 to 2 hours away immigrant and international students take all customer service jobs to the point that Canadians can barely get hired into these roles because we have expectations and rights that we worked for and I've seen these immigrants willing to work for less than legal minimum wage and they do not stand up for themselves or work towards having any shared rights. In addition many politicians on both sides of the aisle are rental landlords so only stand to profit from low rental vacancies and cramming as many people into a small space as possible. They've also cut funding to a lot of post-secondary institutions who rely on inflating tuition cost for international students. At my current role on a team of 15 people plus one manager there are only three white people, born and raised Canadians. The rest are all Indians including the manager and will frequently talk amongst themselves loudly in Punjabi while we're trying to serve customers in the English language. That's actually against policy but Canadians are so outnumbered by immigrants and specifically Indians in this place that it never gets enforced properly. I've never been anti-immigration but it's gotten so bad in Canada especially in places like Ontario that I'm now against it and will tell anyone regardless of their skin color to avoid immigrating here. I've been on a wait list for a doctor for over 11 years, I know people who have died from cancer due to delayed referrals due to long wait list for additional screening, it's insane and absolutely ridiculous especially considering the amount of taxes I currently pay and have paid my entire life as a born and raised Canadian.\n\nAlso it's absolutely true every single one is either taking or has taken post-secondary studies in business admin or management. We don't need more people in these fields we need Healthcare sector workers and not a single one that I've spoken with which again is quite a few studied anything related to medicine Healthcare nursing... not one.

I think they actually came first from the States into Canada then figured out winter is too harsh so now heading back South. before the demoretards opened the US border, we would never see latinos here in Montreal. now we see them mixing with the local homeless in downtown. it's not fun for the local homeless. I'm from Eastern Canada and its absolutely unreal how many Indians I see around. Not a single business have I gone to in months that doesn't have multiple Indians working there, or just Indians. You'd swear they were like 50% of the population. It's crazy what its doing to jobs for locals, both post secondary and not. Let alone housing. Its insane to be in an engineering field with colleagues still living with their parents in their late 20s and early 30s. \n\nI'm very worried for the future political discourse and social cohesion for this country in decades to come if the majority of immigrants that have been brought in are not deported. I've never seen so much crime in my Province in my entire life. About 5 homicides alone in the last month. Absolutely unheard of 10 years ago.

We were going to Chicago to visit family and took a wrong turn off. Ended up in a place I had only seen in movies. Cars jacked up and stripped , boarded up windows and a lot of of people in the streets. We were to afraid to stop and ask for directions. Cop car pulled up beside us, guns visable and angry looking police. Still didnt ask for help .\nMy baby spent 2 weeks in Sick Kids hospital. Major emergency surgery. They accidentally gave me a copy of the bill. It was well over $200,000. Never cost us a dime except for parking. \nI happily live in Canada and wouldn't be anywhere else.

Just wanna present some of my views on this topic, as a indian living in Canada, a lot of points in this discussion are pretty valid. Although, the hate is also in my opinion a little misdirected.\n\nInternational students pay three, maybe even five times as much as domestic students in terms of tuition fees, and while I 100% agree that not everybody even deserves to stay here, a major portion of fault is on government. If you want to make an argument, that government or the country in general never promise the residency status in Canada, then regulate the tuition fees, make it manageable for everyone.\n\nIf you don't want to do that, fair enough, then provide opportunities, there 100% are bad apples in the population, I will not deny that! But you called them, you took the responsibility, you promised the opportunities and students paid for it. Now you hate us for that, either build the bridge both ways or don't hate.\n\nI am genuinely more frustrated with the system rather than immigrants, it is becoming a widespread trend to hate immigrants but I believe the government is just as much at a fault. This is really sad! Ideally, this should never have happened. But Canadian natives are very frustrated with the sheer number of Indians overpopulating the country and degrading their quality of life. Trudeau has completely messed up Canada with his terrible policies. And the problem is that they are welcoming only Indians/South Asians, no other ethnicity. When you invite low skilled population from a specific country in MILLIONS, it's a recipe for ethnic resentment! We also know that a lot of Indians are not the best representatives globally because of the lack of respect for people and their surroundings. This results in the natives lashing out on innocent people who are just trying to get by. It's just a messed-up situation from all the sides. Don't go to Canada guys, it's not worth it. Especially if you go there to participate in gig economy and achieve nothing of value.

I left Canada a long time ago, not out of any ideological reason, but for a job opportunity. It wasn't until I was outside looking in that I realized how controlled Canada is by monopolies, oligarchies and families. I'm shocked when I go back at the fees Canadians pay for connectivity, banking, food, alcohol...and the list goes on. I never understood why Canadians put up with it.

Biggest blunder I have ever done in my life. Racial discrimination in hiring and promotion including in the Federal Public Service is endemic and mobs boggling. I am disappointed with this video. The problems mentioned here are in USA and UK as well. We form opinions based on our experiences. I have no complaints against Healthcare as I was operated in few hours in emergency and never had to wait long for diagnostic tests. Education in Canada is affordable compared to US. Air and Food quality is great. People are extremely friendly. Yes, the housing crisis is there especially post Covid but hoping the market will correct gradually. In my experience, every country has pros n cons and one needs to make a choice between their home country and Canada comparing both based on one's priorities and preferences.Canada changed our lives in so many good ways and my whole family appreciates it. Canada is ovetall a nice country. And it's not easy to get PR. If you get , it's luck n hardships to settle in any new country.

Also, you're not a first generation immigrant and you never had to overcome nativism in your life. My mom was unemployed for three years when we came to Canada, despite having a computer science degree. Now she's in the top one percent of earners. When you're a first generation immigrant you have to overcome racism, and it takes time.

Don't forget one thing, we don't invite anyone to Canada. Actually it's really hard to get in and immigrate here. So if you like your native country better, nobody is stopping you. Hi Febby, stumbled upon your video and wanted to know your experience in Canada. As someone who was born in Canada and left, I wanted to know about some current sentiment, especially by younger people. I think you had some interesting information. I'm actually sad to hear that crime and homelessness has gotten even worse, especially in places like you mentioned, DTES. One thing I want to share with you about the housing issue. Canada acts like a Federation. Meaning that a lot of decision making is delegated to the provincial and municipal level. Yes, Canada has goals for immigration. That's a super valid goal because every developed country is going through declining birth rates. Canada wants to lessen the damage that will be felt by so many other countries like Italy, Germany, China, Japan, etc. The issue with this federated government is like you said, a disconnect between goals and readiness. However, I really feel this will never be accomplishable because of all the lobbying that occurs at the municipal level that the Federal and even Provincial level government cannot control. Yes, there may be shortages in labour to do development, but even then, I really think that lobbying and corruption is keeping adequate supply from being built. From the homeowners and the perspective of the wealthy property owners, they want to keep the valuation of housing high by keeping supply low. Why else is the municipal government keeping such archaic zoning laws? From what I could find, there has been some talk about changing this (https://bc.ctvnews.ca/b-c-to-table-housing-law-targeting-outdated-zoning-rules-1.6627260) but I struggle to see anything really being done. That's probably because of lobbying. The immigration laws set by the government had too many loopholes and flaws ultimately. I don't think we are getting enough productive immigrants. Actually, the opposite seems to occur a lot. The wealthy from the countries I mentioned are abusing the immigration policies in Canada to transfer and preserve their wealth in Canada. I think it has hid in plain sight for a long time, and people have started talked about it in the last 5-10 years because of the struggles of housing affordability from the middle class. What about the immigrants that really want to start a life in Canada and find opportunities like you said? The housing is too expensive for them to do that. Really chicken and egg problem like you mentioned. And this issue can't readily be fixed with the way Canadian government operates. Look forward to hearing your thoughts. Your comparison of Canada to the US is seriously misplaced. Canada is the second largest country in the world, next to Russia. Our population of 40 million ppl is low which is great. Canada is a very diverse country. CANADA is more than Toronto or Montreal. There are many beautiful cities in western Canada, Saskatoon is an example with a population of close to 400K and yes, it’s a city, not a small town. Personally I’d never live in Toronto, and as a life long resident of Canada, born and raised here, who has travelled the entire country. And visited several states as a former professional softball player. Travelled many countries as well as the Caribbean. I would also move to the West Indies, primarily the island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines or maybe New Zealand. If I moved from the west within Canada, I’d move to the Eastern seaboard, Nova Scotia is really nice. Both of you, your eyes are wide shut about Canada lol. You’re missing the boat with your country comparison. Come to the west, outside of Vancouver. Give it a go. You just must like it!!! Thx for the reaction tho.

And the nail in the coffin for housing, ZONING LAWS! Look into the restrictions put onto those wanting to build houses, towns, cities. It's insane, and makes it nearly impossible to build ANYTHING but single-family suburbs in the middle of nowhere. No work/industry nearby, nothing accessible without a car. The most beautiful places in Canada, and the most enriching to live in (Old Toronto and Montreal for example as well as countless small towns) could NEVER be recreated. Although, Old Toronto is actively being destroyed because of new zoning laws. In Europe, new developments are built for less money, yet Canadian ones are cheaper with houses practically being made out of cardboard. Europe also invests in cities with reliable public transit and are much safer to walk and cycle in without huge roads and highways everywhere. This allows for much denser housing and affordable communities. Canada is being eaten by Capitalism and pretending to be a Socialist government, the worst of both worlds.

My main issue with our country allowing so many immigrants into the country is that many of these immigrants from India seem to come to buy businesses up and sponsor their families and friends to live in Canada and work in their businesses which makes it extremely difficult to get basic minimum wage jobs. \nI’ve seen it first hand in my small town, I worked at a Tim Horton’s that was owned by Canadian owners but was sold halfway through my employment to an Indian family and slowly but surely all of the original Canadian workers, including the many young workers (high schoolers) we had employed were pushed out of the business, laid off, given less shifts in favour of giving the Indian employees more shifts. \nI had applied to become manager when my manager quit, I had worked there for a year and instead of promoting me (Because it just would have made sense because I know the job and live very close) An indian man was hired from a city 30 minutes away who’s never worked at a Tim Horton’s and barely spoke English. He was totally sexist to all the young female workers and treated them horribly. He never spoke English on the floor when our staff started to hire more Indian workers. \nIt’s becoming insane.

Canada died 20 years ago. It's gone and it's never coming back, my family goes back a thousand years in BC on my mom's side, and close to 200 years on my dad's side from England suffice to say you can trust me when I tell you I know what made Canada great, four or five generations of my family were born and raised here, I've made more money than five generations of my family combined, through career growth and a small measure of skill and talent, I can afford notably less than my parents. In 1980 the average income for boomers was 20 grand, a house in the heart of Kitsilano was 50 grand, that house is now worth four and a half million dollars... A toddler could inform you that that isn't a sustainable business model. Suffice to say if I live to a thousand years I will never see a 10,000% return on investment. The older generations have abandoned the younger generations. There was recently a pole done and it showed that Canada ranks eighth for happiness in the world for over 60, and it ranks 65th in the world for under 35... Case closed. Living in Canada since 5 years and never faced any of these issues mentioned in the video. Its a beautiful country with most polite and helpful people, one of the best work culture I have seen. We recently welcomed new born baby in Canada and medical care we received was top notch. Been growing personally and professionally in this land with grace. \n\nThe only issue I see here is growing number of unqualified immigrants which doesn’t help Canada and creates stress in Current system. Its good that they are starting to take measures on quality of immigrants.
