I find it very depressing that the history of black people seem incomplete,without reference to slavery.....but most nowadays African Americans,don't know much about slavery......and it should be understood that most Africans were born free,they were never slaves.\n How can we bring more dignity to the black person abroad......seeing that the immediate reaction of being reminded of slavery is racism.\nI would like to hear a renewed rhetoric that identifies the years of slavery in speeches. It packages things.

Black people need to know  about  African History not European  Culture ,    let me give u  a little  about   African  History , this  for Blacks in Canada ,  America and blacks  all over the world ,   Heres  history   About our people ,    thousands years ago on the continent of Africa ,  theres was place called Ancient Egypt ,  Egypt  was birth place of math, Science,  Philososphy,  and more ,   when Greeks , like Alaxander  came  to Egypt , he study the culture of Egyptians ,  and   Greek Philosopher like  Plato  and  other Greek Philosophers who study  for over 20 to 30 years  in  Ancient Egypt,   so Greeks stole knowledge  from  from the  Ancient  Egypt .   all the letters and words didn't come  Greece ,    the Greeks stole  it   from Egypt  ,   the greeks would put their stamp on their books , so you would think that Greeks    came up    with the Knowledge , but they  didn't  , it was Ancient  Egyptians .   Ancient Egypt is been around  10 to 20 thousands  years  before Greece and Rome ,  there was no other kingdom like  Ancient  Egypt ,    many people  from different  culture  came  to Study in Egypt , before Greece and Rome   snd Arabs and Europeans .    Africa was the light of the world .    everything that  we use today like  math, Science,  letters, and words  that we use come  from  Ancient  Egypt , so black people should  feel proud of   where they   come from  ,

There is no sense in trying to appeal to those cops' values. Well, you can be sure they are wearing protective gear because of your last reporting on them. I'm just so shocked how people can just flow unhindered into Canada like this and in-fact are greeted and given rides, all the while at actual legal border crossings they have trained immigration officials who should be dealing with them. Racism is defiantly a problem BUT offers are USUALLY based on credit scores. They didn’t provide more than one test that ‘determines bias’?!?!?!? These tests are garbage. PEOPLE OFFER HELP based physiology. Example... If someone looks like they are looking for something then they don’t know what they want. If you offer help and customers deny but hang elongated experiences of looking for something — one would look for ‘why’ is this person still looking heavily for something but yet denied help.

Besides the fact that they always look really CREEPY, you have to remember these are a tribal people that have about 3 or 4 families, all packed together and living in a single 3 or 4 bedroom house (all sleeping on floors like they would in a desert tent, back home) and their houses always stink of potent curry spice. So if you live next door to them, you cannot open your windows or relax in the backyard without choking from the constant potent stink 24/7. That is another reason why 'white' people move out of the area immediately!

This is such a ridiculous video. Especially the implication that other races are less biased than whites. Asian folks largely stick with Asian folks. Muslims often times only marry Muslims. Most black people in America admit to racial bias and there is a large amount of hate crime against white folks that is not charged that way because of their white skin. Almost everyone has cultural bias. As a matter of fact I would make the argument that white folks are more likely to date and marry outside their race and Christians too.

I'm a white guy who lived in another country that wasn't a white majority country. There is discrimination in western countries, but there are ways to deal with it. The discrimination I had to deal with every day was much more than this, but nobody wants to know about that. The way I lived for those several years was to realize that I was different and I just had to maximize dealing with good people and when I knew that I would have to deal with something like having to get an apartment, I took that countries national with me knowing I would get a better deal. I was grabbed by officers at night and threatened. basically whatever is faced here, I had on a regular basis. At first, it pissed me off, but later, I came up with a way to maximize my life to get the best treatment I could. I didn't think I would be coming back to America, but eventually, I came back for more schooling and ended up staying.

Racism goes both ways I’ve been treated very bad because of my pale skin hair and eyes I’ve been called albino by people of colour and I’ve never and would never do that to them growing up in the uk in an area with a high Muslim community being beaten up at school ,there where places white girls just didn’t go I hated the way I looked I started to dye my hair black I wore baggy clothes and lots of layers but I couldn’t change my eyes I would alway walk with my head down so I know what it’s like to be treated differently because of colour

Psychology student here. In the interest of accurate information, I would like to point out some flaws I find with some of the studies in this documentary and question the conclusions reached. I understand that CBC Marketplace are not personality psychologists and therefore cannot be expected to produce the same quality of work as a scientist. However, I think it is worthwhile to think critically about the information in the media that we consume. I am also open to anyone who wants to engage in debating the contents of this documentary.\n\n\nThe following are some notes I took while watching the documentary outlining the individual hypotheses of the studies I think are flawed and descriptions of their respective accompanying errors. \n\n\nThere are three possible research questions, and thereby dependent variables, being answered by the apartment hunting studies.\n1. If there is no discrimination between the white man and the first-nations man, then they should get equal treatment, including quotes and availability, when apartment hunting. \na. Could the gender of the landlord be a confounding variable (perhaps men are more discriminatory than women)? \n \n2. If there is no discrimination between the white man and the first-nations man between Toronto, Montreal, Regina, and Victoria, then they should get equal treatment, including quotes and availability, when apartment hunting. \na. Could total apartments visited be a confounding variable? (4 in Toronto, 3 in Montreal, Regina, and Victoria) \nb. Could the gender of the landlord be a confounding variable (perhaps men are more discriminatory than women)? \nc. They only showed the black man apartment hunting in some of the trials. I am considering him out of the study for consistency purposes. The first-nations man is the only one who got unfair treatment in the footage of apartment hunting. \n \n3. Possible hypothesis: If male landlords/agents are more discriminatory than female landlords/agents, then the white man and the first-nations man will get different treatment at different Canadian apartments in equally diverse cities. \na. Don’t know all the information about the genders of the landlords/agents, not all the footage is shown, but the ones where they get ripped off are male. The others shown are female. The remaining interactions are not shown.\n\n\nThere are also some factors that may have influenced the racial bias survey and, in my estimation, rendered it scientifically unreliable.\n\n\n1. The bias survey and accompanying tests at the CBC attributed the differences between the studies to unconscious racism. What if it was just due to familiarity with certain racial groups over others? \na. The black participants had no bias between European-American and African Americans, supposedly indicating no racism, while the white and first-nations participants did, supposedly indicating racism. Is it possible that another interpretation of this result is that bias is a function of familiarity: that we are comfortable with the majority demographic in the geographical location we live in, as well as our own kind. Therefore, the black guys are less biased against black people due to being both black and living in a white majority demographic? \nb. The participants took the survey knowing the objectives of the researchers was to study racial discrimination. They might have influenced the answers they gave \nc. Whether the participants agreed with identity politics or not was a confounding factor that was not controlled . You can only be racially unbiased biased if you think that racial identity is a means of accurately viewing the world. People who do not believe in the existence of identity politics may answer the questions quite differently, which could be a different reason for the results.\nd. I took the study myself. The words that participants were required to match were a mix of adjectives and nouns. It is known within psychology that nouns have higher levels of imagery. This was not properly controlled and therefore is another confounding variable. \n \nAll the other studies looked fine to me. I welcome any discussion on my observations.

This is such bs. I’m so sick of news articles treating deportation like it’s some national sin. We’re supposed to feel bad that people get deported for living here illegally?! That’s what deportation is for! This chick is 30 she’s been here 18 years, if she was concerned about going through proper channels, she would have. The people who deserve to be here are the ones who have endured the process of doing it legally. The fact that someone can live here & own a business for years all while being here illegally is ridiculous. “Couldn’t they just go after criminals?” You were supposed to be deported over a decade ago! You are a criminal.

This is a great video it's hard being a person of colour in even today's world. There is a lot of passive aggressive racism in the form of discrimination on a big scale. The thing about race is you can't really talk to white people about racism because they don't really experience it. I would like to see a social experiment to where white people go into predominantly minority areas and see how they get treated.

Trudeau going to have to establish a DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) program in Canada now - people don't realize there is probably thousands like her scattered across the country mostly in the major cities. They all want similar relief from potentially being deported if they are caught. I have no problem giving it to them since most of them are young but I would enforce the condition that they have to resettle in Manitoba, Northern Ontario and the Atlantic Provinces - areas in Canada experiencing population decline, aging demographics and high job vacancy numbers. We don't need people who didn't follow the rules further overcrowding cities like Toronto and Vancouver where the cost of living is rising every year.

I wish the United States would face this issue. I've been attacked in a store for unfair, and unfounded suspension. I am treated differently in no less than 75% of stores I go into. The employees stare me down, follow me... I'm going to start filming these people. It's not fair to be harrassed for S.W.B. It's sad, I was born this color, yet I am less than, or just plain bad before I even speak, or act in the minds of many, especially law enforcement. It's sad. It's depressing. It makes everything in life that I do in public, down to using the bathroom, getting to know new people, applying for work, buying food, or just walking down any street, so much harder. Like the world is mad I exist, and the people want me to go away.

I think subtle racism is actually a very practical type of stereotyping and it didn't just got created out of air, there is a big chunk of that specific race (be it any race according to the stereotype) who actually prove the stereotype to be right. I am from india, living in Canada and if some house owner would prefer a white guy over me to rent their house, I would not blame him since a lot of people don't like the smell of spices that we cook all the time.\n\nAs far as stereotyping is sublet and not rude or hurting, I don't think it's actually so much of racism rather then preference.\n\nI just want to make it clear though that I do support racism, whatever is happening in US and a lot of other countries which is violent is a very horrible thing. Specially black people being racially profiled everywhere including malls and by the police themselves.

I guarantee you that everybody would pick people of the race they grew up that look like their family. It's not racism, it's associating your family with good.

Hello, I just watched your video. Three years after you made it. I hope you are still with us and a very belated Welcome. Many people throughout the world seem to have so many stereotypes about Americans. Whether it is good or bad there typically is some truth in a stereotype. Overall it seems like you are enjoying yourself and no matter what there is no place like home. I would think no matter what your current situation is you still miss Canada as I would miss the United States if I were to move to Canada. \nA couple things you mentioned in the video were not correct and as with anything there may be a little truth in the matter but yet still incorrect.\nThose who do not have health insurance are not charged or taxed $150 monthly. There is a provision in the affordable care act (ACA) that penalizes certain individuals who make above a certain dollar amount. The amount is either $150 or $300 for the entire year. I concur any monetary penalty against anyone for not having health insurance is outrageous. I could be wrong but I believe this aspect of the ACA was never implemented under President Obama and it was indefinitely suspended or revoked by President Trump. I also feel like I need to address your thoughts about the United States all about war. I believe the American people are like most other people and want peace and civility. The government and major defense contractors have differing opinions at times. Of course there is plenty of people who are war hawks but they are in the minority. Most of us are absolutely sick of war. We currently have been at war for almost 19 years. That's six complete world war 2's in their entirety. \nI think you were being awfully generous when you said obesity is on par with the rest of the world!! Unfortunately there is far to many fat people here and the problem is only getting worse because the media says be happy and proud you are fat. Celebrating obesity is absolutely insane and it sends the wrong message to young people. If a close one is fat of course I love them but I also tell them privately that they are a walking heart attack. It's more than OK to accept someone the way they are but as a friend or family member you doing them a disservice by not mentioning their obesity. \nI'm sorry if you feel I'm being to harsh or critical. What a pile of propaganda. No other culture on earth goes in to work dressed as a priest. Or a witch. Or the Ku klux clan etc. This is not in the Quaran, it is a cultural practice made to enslave woman and keep servant. They teach in our universities it is fine to mate with a three year old and a camel. So do you think this silly mask would help slow down interest? . My problem with women covering their faces is that that men are not allowed by law to cover their faces, so why would a certain group of women have this right. Women SHOULD NOT BE GIVEN A HIGHER STATUS because we should be EQUAL to men. People easily use freedom of choice as an argument to defend every single thing they do. I WISH, I WISH, I WISH they would advocate for freedom of choice in their country of origin. I wish they would fight for human rights the way they do when they come to the Western World. And saying that covering your face doesn't define you is complete bulls*** because when we ask you to take it off suddenly it becomes who you are as a person. As a Canadian Christian woman of Lebanese origin (second-generation immigrant), I love everyone... jews, muslims, hindus, ... you name it. But what I don't like is HYPOCRITES.

I think I should start a pub called Kabbah cafe and run all day specials of pints, pulled pork and ribs. You have no idea how many muslim friends I have that eat 2 rashers of bacon every time that I cook it at home and drink the place dry so that I have to stop by the off license twice a week. Might as well just get over it and out themselves and people would see that the majority of muslims are not really concerned with this stuff. Maybe start reformed islam movement? We need to have a little bit of compassion for Muslims who are struggling with this. Imagine that you were born into Islam. You didn't ask for it. You just happened to be unlucky enough to be born into a Muslim country and raised under it. It's not their fault that they believe what they believe. \nWe need to help them to free them from the chains of Islam. The way to help them and free them from Islam is by educating them with the truth. It's difficult for them to accept because they have devoted their entire life to it. It's also quite a shock when they see all of the errors in the Quran which is supposed to be the pure word of an all-powerful and all-knowing God. Then they see things like- the sun revolves around the earth and sets in a pool of muddy water. It's like somebody telling you that your dear friend has been lying to you for the last 50 years of your life. You just can't believe it. You don't want to believe. You defend your friend, you love your friend. \n\nSo instead of insulting these poor Muslim people try helping them by suggesting that they read the Koran cover to cover from beginning to end. Then they will see for themselves that this 7th century book conflicts with modern scientific and historical knowledge. That's when they will realize that Muhammad invented the entire thing so that people would obey him and treat him like a god on Earth. That's when they will realize that he was a 7th century man who knew nothing about the scientific knowledge that we have now in this century. That's when they will realize that the Quran is filled with threats of punishment and violence for not believing and not obeying the supposed word of God given to them by Muhammad. Muhammad put harsh punishments in it so that they would submit out of fear. This is why Islam is so violent. \n\nTo our Muslim friends in humanity. I'm so sorry that you were lied to. So sorry that you wasted much of your life devoting it to Islam. I'm so grateful to those of you who have not followed the violence of Islam commanded in the Quran. But now you are free with the truth. Go and live your life in Peace and freedom. Love your fellow humans and help your fellow humans. Try to spread the truth to other Muslims and help them. Follow the example of apostate prophet who is trying to help Muslims with his you tube videos.\n I urge all Muslims to read the entire Quran. Don't let non-muslims like me know more about the Quran than you do. If you don't think that the scientific facts conflict with the Koran, then read the entire Quran and look up the scientific facts. If these people had some decorum of respect for others, there would be no anti muslim sentiments, its very simple, keep your ideological/superstitious beliefs within your own domain, and don't approach people ( as a muslim) and futhermore, don't have the audacity to expect people to like you as a muslim, just as I, as a christian, do not expect people to like me ( as a Christian)

Instead of spending money on a car that she likely can't afford, she should trade it in for a gym membership and meal plans. Maybe fix herself up a bit, get her hair done. Some self care would do her good and make her feel less miserable about herself and that way she won't have to take it out on others. To keep citizens a priority over the influx of immigrants and refugees Denmark had cut welfare benefits to illegal immigrants and refugees and many began leaving to more profitable countries (in benefits). Why has our country not put something like that in place? It definitely would sort out those who came for the 'freebies'.  ~ Denmark's ‘integration benefit'  measure was a significantly lower benefit level being offered to people who have resided in Denmark for less than seven of the past eight years. Foreigners will also receive a financial incentive to learn the language. These were 'integration benefits'. Citizens who have lived outside of the EU (or country?) for seven of the past eight years were also subjected to the new rules. The purpose, to make Denmark a less attractive destination while making it more attractive to work and contribute to Danish society.  It reduced the flow in to a more manageable number.

I would sit on my door step, drinking ale, with my dogs, in front of my union jack painted door. Because this is England, and i would be doing NOTHING illegal. But saying anything against being culturally enriched like this, labels you a nazi, facist, far right, whatever. Stupid laws help criminals to make lots of money. And, people see no good reason to comply with irrational laws like this, so they find ways around them. \nIf you're granted permanent residency, why do you have to keep proving residency?\nWhat next? Fining citzens for going on holiday for too long and hence not paying enough into the Canadian Economy? If so, the CEO's of many major Canadian businesses will be hung out to dry. So, I suppose that's a stupid law which won't be brought in, as it would hurt the wrong people.

The thing is, Mexico is not in conflict for its people to seek asylum somewhere else. It is not good to just jump ship to any country and fight whoever so that you stay there. You struggled. You spent so much money on lawyers, when immigration laws don't approve of anyone going into US illegally and then file asylum. Sorry but the immigration lawyers just took your money and pretend to help you and that there are solutions. If a US citizen jumps ship to your country, would you declare that his presence there is illegal? US, Canada or any country wouldn't want that. It's like jumping on one's lawn, make house and wouldn't want to leave. That's how it is.

WHY did he think that Canada would welcome him with open arms? Why do they think like that? NO one cares about anyone else. America doesn't give a shit about it's own people!

The biggest problem alot of people have when migrating to Canada or USA is not being informed about procedures and how likely are you to allowed in. A lot of loss would have beeb avoided.

Once an apartment complex has reached its full capacity the rents go up has to do with timing also if you wait a few months you're going to pay more in a good economy. Some people are confused why a realtor doesn't offer the same house to every customer for the same price. Realtors know everyone doesn't want to live with strangers When shopping for a one-bedroom apartment. I've never lived anywhere where everyone pays the same rent regardless of how many years or days they've been there. It has to do with supply and demand the second guy got a higher price because the demand was up for just a few apartments. If you took the same three guys with a hundred other guys to an apartment complex that was at 50% capacity they would all be quartered the same price most likely. People rent apartments to make a profit. When you fly you'll notice that nobody plays the same price to ride in the same plane at the same time.

Well, black and brown people in America and brown Muslims in Europe are heavily overrepresented in crime, especially violent and property ones, per capita. It is just a fact. It would thus make sense to focus loss prevention and police resources to groups where there is more likely for a crime to occur.

I see my son get treated very bad .\nBusiness people at the bank\n treated him horrible and he was trying to get help.\n\n basically jerked him around and I'd like to . CVS would not let me have my medicine my doctor give them a phone call and he was upset he EAT him up and spit him out \nbecause I have diabetes \ndon't. NOT let my son get my medicine and it's hard for me to walk around and I called him up and ask why \nand then I did get my medicine and I never did have no more trouble out them after my doctor ball to out they against my son but people listen at this we're not African American where are we we are not I seen the kind of thing two we was up to the courthouse and these police officers was looking at me and laughing I'm an overweight woman and overweight people gets treated bad we get laughed at we get made fun of and every way I got jerked around at the courthouse in Anderson they really treated me horribly and I think it was because I was overweight and they was very rude and nasty to every customer to come in and I don't know why to me it always pointed out and all I'll be pointed out so it's not only African Americans but it's people like myself that has a weight problem I I am A obesity white woman

The burka that these so call women wear. Are very un Canadian. There is nothing Canadian about it. I would not believe anything that they say about being attacked. No other political religion of this era does that. Why is it that these muslims don't choose to stay in any muslim countries (50plus) in the world. But continue to go to western countries. I believe thats B.S.  I believe every country on earth the people expect more out of there own people is what it is... i also think its like something people do subconiously they dont even know there doing it probably . I bet if a white guy went to africa and marketplace did the exact same thing there with a white guy and a black guy the black guy would get the better deals.. AMAZON CAN SOLVE THE NUISANCE.BUT THERE WILL BE ROOM FOR OTHER....\n\nI BELIEVE WE ARE NOT ALL WELL BRED AND ARE ALLOWED AS CHILDREN TO BELIEVE ASSUMPTIONS TO BE REALITY. Dear , you don't have to feel sorry. I am sure your intention is very very good. Seems you are good human beings. I lives in UK for 18 years. In beginning I struggled a lot. During past 18 years I have travelled lots in various countries and seen so many settled people who are origin from respective country or are settled from ages . But you also note that thay had gone through with same as beginner going through, or might b lot . I like your post, and doesn't notice any ego or proud in that . I like that . But what I mean to say is everyone from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka or Bangladesh , before come in English country or in any country, are starting very big dreams and after step into new country they don't accept positive things and blames only those countries where thay have gone for higher education or for earning money. Still they stay there and says here is blot like india , dongle come here , or we have to do this type of job .They don't have servants there, they have to wash their clothes themselves, cook themselves and clean house themselves . That's why thay are saying bad words for that country and still they want path of permanent residence of that country. I am not against of india but if you are staying in English country for 6 months, I request you please make video for how government works for their people, how smooth you can run your business without giving bribe to government officers , how police officers are doing their job and how pure is system . And please all these compare in India and suggest life is easy there or not . I love my country and during my 18 years in UK , I came back to India with my family to settle down the rest life but because of some government officers ( on each step asking bribe for business) , and not getting support from government, decided to go back to UK .I mean to say in English country there is value for poor person or for rich person. In india government hospital are free but look how they treat the patient. Please compair each sector and make video. If you do this would be very grateful. And please mention about politicians in English country and in India. Then people who stays there and complaining same country ( not you ) ,will realise the values . Take care. Best luck.

I believe everyone should be allowed to come to America as free as they would like to, with the exceptions of European and white people who the same people as the ones who invaded America and stole America from the original owners. That's right , by law they should be banned from entering America again.

As a Mexican American I have faced all types of racism from people of different races, including my own. I lived in Mexico for a while when I was young and would get bullied by kids who knew I was born in the U.S. Teachers also treated me different; some treated me worse than they treated the other kids, and others favored me because I was American. When I moved to Philadelphia I attended a school that was predominantly black and asian. I was the only hispanic in my class. At the time Spanish was my main language and my English was “rusty,” which led to constant bullying from classmates. They would call me “dookie face,” tell me to “go back to my country,” and even had some girls put gum on my hair. I would cry every day. I later on moved to Chicago to an area that was mostly hispanic, and that didn’t stop the bullying, either. After I finally refined my English, I no longer wanted to speak Spanish unless it was to my parents. Yes, I guess the constant bullying pushed me to feel like I had to separate myself from my hispanic heritage. When my hispanic classmates spoke to me in Spanish I only responded in English, which would make them mad and they would think that I thought I was “better than them.” Anyway, that was long ago and now as an adult I can reflect on these things so that I don’t make the same mistakes. I get along with everyone and the only thing that changes how I feel about someone is their character, not their appearance.

Trust me the only reason I would never move to Canada would be coz of Punjabi’s. Canada doesn’t look like Canada anymore but more like Punjab and it’s not gonna get any better if they don’t stop letting people come in. Canada gotta stop letting every Tom dick and Harry come in. And yes I am myself a Punjabi. These people are taking the opportunity of being able to come to Canada for granted. They don’t know how to respect the laws of land. They didn’t know it back in India and are not willing to learn either.

What I would like to know is why in the case of roxum road crossing we never saw any US officials there stopping people from illegally leaving the US hmmm! We had the RCMP there all be it as bellboys but they were a least present. I am glad I love Canada and the fact I dont want to leave, this is tought o watch because as a Canadian with Canadian values when we see people in trouble this nation has always offered help to others less fortunate. It is what makes us unique and respected by the world or at least it was until Trudeau got in.

Canada must be making a lot of money from it. China would never put up with this they would stop you from entering in a minute, or deport you. Like I said someone is making money to look the other side. Must be laughing at how much they are defrauding them.\n\nAre you kidding me then the attitude Sunny Wang. Looks like citizenship is a piece of cake if you can buy it. Makes me wonder if this goes on in the US probably does. Canada has the one thing that China doesn't have excellent medical care. They need to create a flag in the program. Having so many people with one address should have been a flag to delay or investigate citizenship.

I would give them a treatment similar the country they come from, not a five star hotel treatment. Then send every illegal immigrant in their country. Strip immigrant, facilitating illegal immigration, from the citizenship and ban them from entering Canada for 10 years and ban them from ever getting citizenship.\n\nBut we don't ever strip someone of his Canadian citizenship if they committed crimes.\n\nBUT COMMON SENSE IS NOT THE STRENGTH OF THE LIBERALS. \nWE HAVE A CRIMINAL AS A PRIME MINISTER.

People like Wang are great. He's smart, he's creative, and he helps countries find out what was wrong with their securities and policies. He's actually doing the country a favor. If not for him, imagine how many more problems there would be.
