The Trudeau Liberals opened our borders without having the housing or jobs infrastructure in place. Trudeau has destroyed our economy and increased out taxes to the point that new home construction has ground to a halt.\n\nTrudeau has declared that he'll build enough homes in the next few years to resolve the problem. Unfortunately, the rate of new home construction that he's declared calculates out to one new home completed every minute (24 hours a day) for the next ten years. We don't have the contractors, builders, or workers to accomplish this. We don't have a plan for this. Trudeau constantly declares his wild, pie in the sky promises without a step by step plan.

I think Manitoba is the cheapest place to live. Atlantic Canada, houses might sound cheap but most of them very old. To get job also is difficult. More tax and less per hour salary in New Brunswick. But good only for seniors, who retired after working in Ontario or BC or other cities.

Why is Canada so inferior compared to US? America always takes first place in the Olympics whereas Canada can't even be in the top 10. Canadian dollar is so weak like a noodle arm boy whereas American dollar is strong like a muscular warrior full of sinew and gristle. Why can't Canada be better than US? Why is everyone moving to Toronto. Canada is not Toronto. There are many places in Canada that needs to be developed. Why not develop other places. Toronto is saturated with people. Our resources are depleted. Rents are very high. New immigrants should go live in other parts of Canada. Start communities and businesses in other areas. All new immigrants cannot settle in Toronto. We need the rest of Canada to be developed.

Sorry if you rent someone’s place and take advantage of the situation we’ll try to make other arrangements sorry . She wants to live in condo and you choose not to pay the rent . renters are taking advantage hope this is a learning lessons to owners .

I've got behind on my rent in the past. \nI lived out my last month's rent. \nI'm sorry to the landlord I couldn't pay $2,400 in 2 months. \nBut I left so I gave them no further aggravation and problems so we could all move on. \nI put myself on the street and lost everything. \nEventually I got back on my feet got my own place. \nNot keeping these good landlords supporting me. \nI love this man he sounds like a good man good luck sir you're the kind of immigrants we need in this country to have full-time citizenship you work so hard to get where you are today❤

The point is free market doesn't regulate housing crisis. The government doesn't provide jobs in building housing. Canada is nothing but vast lands, that means enough place to build housing. Come on.

Landlord Tenant board is a joke and should be called Tenant Board. Since PC govt came in power two housing minister have made situation worse for small landlords. There are less adjudicators than 6 years ago and applications take upto a year before learning takes place. Even then, any excuse by tenants is tolerated but landlord suffer. I will not invest any more in Ontario. It is a very very bad place and PC govt does not care. I do not know what housing minister does all day. Sad.

Yes, you might get away with a year or 2 of not paying rent, but at some point, you'll get evicted, and your name will be on the Openroom website, how TF then you'll get a landlord to accept your application then ? You might saved 20 or 30K, but you'll spend it in few months living in a hotel hoping for someone to rent you their place

Great assessment. My wife left Vancouver 22yrs ago. It was bad then and has only gotten worse. Sadly the residents would rather smoke a joint than vote for a conservative govt and attend a church. Forget about GOD can't be surprised when he forgets about you. That said Australia is not much better and getting worse by the day. The reason govts love immigrants is because they bring money in and are obivious to the local politics so the govts simply continue to introduce more and more corrupt policies every year. I was watching Flight Radar. I clicked on a Random flight coming to Toronto Pearson. It was Air India, It was supposed to land just across the lake in USA. It had been diverted. I wonder if it was diverted intentionally so all of them could stay in Canada? We build 200K homes a year, we bring in more than 500K people/year. U Can't get a job, all places are hiring newcomers cuz the Gov offers them subsidies to help pay their wages. Meanwhile, Canadians end up homeless.

This piece is misleadingly titled. It's not that Canadians are anti-immigration. It's that the Government is not preparing the country for the influx of the immigration it's attracting. There's no housing, there's no schooling, there's no social structures in place to support the newcomers. Canadians are not against immigration.
