Someone told me that East Indian trucking companies in Ontario contract out to India most of their bookkeeping and admin to India with just a skeleton crew here. So you have a fleet of 100 plus trucks driving through North America every day, a lot of the cash/profits goes out of the country, lower WSIB costs that reputable CDN firms have to shore up, etc, etc. Just one example of how ill thought out government policies hurt honest Canadian businesses because they don't enforce regulations unless there are many, repeated complaints. Just like the foreign student, temporary worker program, these problems won't come up years later, but are happening now. Government oversight has to be better and more timely.

As a FRENCH individual, here is my perspective; we humans look for what is good for us!!! I am French (I consider myself very lucky as France is a very stable and prosperous economy) but many French also look for better opportunities abroad, namely in Switzerland (higher salary and better work packages but that influx created a xenophobia against French living in Swiss) and the US (tech jobs mainly, which are better paid than in France)!!! We ALL do it!!! Many white South African women also do everything to marry British, Germans, Canadians on purpose (the media never mentions that and we know why) so that they can escape the extreme environment in South Africa!!!! It is just that the media tends to focus on black and brown people as it sells better!!! Ohhh and did you forget those many North Americans who flock to Mexico, and South America to run away from the horrendous cost of living!!!! Same for those many Canadians (a common trend those last years) who start to flock into the US to run away from higher living costs in Canada and for higher paid jobs in the US!!!! Okay may be some lesser developed countries do it but let’s realize that WE Europeans also move and emigrate when things turn “grill our ar**s” where we live!!!! Why do I have to compete for jobs and working hours with citizens of India? I have a friend who works at walmart, she is Canadian and they only give her part time hours, the manager is Indian and gives priority of working hours to some one who has a work permit and has been in the country for less than 5 months. They are not a citizen or PR, we dont owe them any thing, they are no longer needed and should be sent back, and if they protest should be deported, protesting is a citizens right.

I think one of the main issues is the quality of some of these Indian migrants. What does a poorly educated, low skilled countryside bumpkin that can't speak English from the backwaters of Punjab offer a modern first world country like Canada? And many of these Punjabis have a skewed perception of Canada when they arrive here, often swaggering around like gangsters and making a show of themselves. They arrive here thinking the country belongs to them.

Canada needs a NATIONALITY or PER COUNTRY cap on immigration just like the United States so there is a balance of ethnicity and no inordinate amount of immigrants coming from ONE single country.

I'm a Canadian in Brampton. I always had positive things to say about Indian Immigrants. this is actually a really good summary of the situation. just like how India has their bad people who have caused problems we canadians also have similar people in who are just as troublesome if not worse such as the junkies on the streets who I see all the time here in Montreal and cause so much chaos. a big argument which I also feel like is that we should only allow the best of the best to immigrate to Canada. my mom was an immigrant and is an incredibly hard worker who is more than deserving of a Canadian citizenship and even my close friend who immigrated from India is just like that and is also 10x cleaner than anyone else I've ever lived with. the fact of the matter is that we need to bring back those high standards which we had in the past and crack down and send back those who abused the system and illegally entered the country. A student visa is for Studying. Not for permanent residency. Not for citizenship. Not for brining one's family over. Not for working illegally. Student Visa = Study = Graduate = Return to your country to grow your own country. If one paid illegal brokers to get a visa for a job, that is not Canada's fault. If you falsified your Immigration papers to falsify you are coming to study and your family has sufficient funds it is not Canada's problem you have to repay illegal broker loans. Whomever is here past their visa period and working full time instead of continuing with their education, should be deported immediately. This is taking university seats from local Canadians and taking full time jobs away from Canadian legal citizens.

The problem is simple. If its an issue of cost of living, while its true that it is very high, its very high across the industrialized world. That is because the causes influencing cost of living are not related to inside Canada but are being influenced by foreign actors which Canada has no control over. The Ukraine-Russia War for example is causing increases to food costs which are not easily overcome. The situation in the Middle East between Hamas and Israel threatens to spiral into a regional war and that threatens the oil supply and the present price for oil and gas. The Houthi have been making it hard to traverse the Red Sea which is forcing shipping to travel around Africa rather than directly through the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean Sea meaning those additional fuel costs get transferred over to the consumer. As for housing, while efforts to cool housing markets have been made, Canada's housing market is still relatively hot meaning the prices remain high in big cities. Its like a perfect storm. Increased costs on mortgages are an attempt to push down inflation but in the short term you are going to feel that as well. Also we are living in a transition period as the world sinks back to the older model of trade before before Bretton Woods in 1947 which is leading to a decoupling of product lines that at one time coming from Asia were cheap but are not more expensive because they are being made back in the home countries. Transitions do come with a price. Finally, add taxes which help to deal with health care, social programs and government services like embassies, foreign missions and the army well yeah its a perfect storm.\n\nI hope you have luck where you end up but do not for a minute assume that the grass is greener on the other side. Even Japan which attempts to keep certain costs low, has been forced to increase its national consumption taxes to offset overall costs. It isn't going to get cheaper but more expensive as we move back to the old trade model. However, as the world weans itself off of the World Trade Organization and the IMF, the world also re-opens the potential to a Great Depression because that was the reason Bretton Woods appeared in the first place. The world isn't going to get better but far worse.

Living in Ontario and visiting BC many times I have notice more and more elderly Indian individuals. I been to hospitals in both province's and I see more then ever elderly Indians requesting health care. I wonder to myself how many years have these elderly Indians pay into the health care system. I don't want anyone without care but those who have worked in this country for 50yrs have paid into the system. So is it right that those who have paid into the system have to wait for care do to ones who haven't paid into the system?

In Surrey BC there is a shooting carried out by Indian gangs almost everyday. There is also a massive influx of Indians who simply make zero effort to learn the common language of this country: English. I am a 2nd generation Indian-Canadian, and even I struggle to communicate with these new migrants from India. If you want to come to this country that embraced me and my family as one of their own, you need to accept and embrace their culture and not try to replace it. \n\nAs an Indian Canadian citizen, I fully support deporting any Indian students who have overstayed their student/work visa. They need to go back because they do not love this country.
