Someone told me that East Indian trucking companies in Ontario contract out to India most of their bookkeeping and admin to India with just a skeleton crew here. So you have a fleet of 100 plus trucks driving through North America every day, a lot of the cash/profits goes out of the country, lower WSIB costs that reputable CDN firms have to shore up, etc, etc. Just one example of how ill thought out government policies hurt honest Canadian businesses because they don't enforce regulations unless there are many, repeated complaints. Just like the foreign student, temporary worker program, these problems won't come up years later, but are happening now. Government oversight has to be better and more timely.

Im mad because Im young and want to go to school but cant work because of post graduate immigrants taking low skill jobs (Fast Food, Retail,). Its petty to come to another country, complete your studies and with your work permit work for minimum wage at tim hortons. Nobody my age can get a functional job just from applying. This is why when I am old enough to immigrate myself, i will attempt to immigrate to california (due to film industry and love for the state) and stay in my working field and leave the jobs there for the youth).

Not so acurate information. During the college time students can work only 20h/week. Unless it has changed. \n\nAlso, it’s IMPOSSIBLE to get permanent residency before graduation because you need Canadian experience (full time) for at least 1 year in specialized areas. \n\nOnly if you successfully complete your program you get the full time work visa per 3y. In this time it’s going to be possible TO APPLY for permanent residence. \n\nBut not only that. Canadian experience give you extra points in the immigration program, but also a Bachelor’s degree, or a master degree, work experience in your back country, English level, and age. \n\nI don’t know for certain countries if the rules are different, but as long as I know, it’s the same for everybody. \n\nWhen I came as an international student, I had to prove the college was paid, also show I had enough money to support myself for 1y without work. Also, the program at college that costs $4000/semester for a Canadian student, it costs $8-10.000 for an international student. \n\nMy work visa (during college) allowed me 20h per week working only. \n\nTo get my study visa approved I had to show intermediate English, money, work experience, Bachelor’s degree (I have also a master’s), and explain why I wanted to study in Canada and why that program was related to my current career. \n\nTalking about jobs; I have worked as a housekeeper in a hospital (on weekends). After I graduated I became supervisor. \n\nSome people complain about students and immigrants getting the jobs, but what I’ve seen was a lot of people complaining EVERY DAY about their jobs, about their lives, etc…but doing absolutely nothing to change it.\n\nI got here as a student, I became immigrant, I worked as a cleaner, I graduated at college.after 2y working full time I got the permanent residence, and I was back to school. \nI got a Master’s degree at McMaster University, and now I am a manager in a big hospital. \nImmigrants taking the jobs??? I think it's great that there are so many Indians in canada. I don't know why people would think Canada belongs to white people only. Just because they happen to kill off the native peoples and steal all their land is no reason that other people cannot now come here and live lives because they're not Exterminating anyone and they're bringing their skills and their education and and better people actually to that country

this is actually a really good summary of the situation. just like how India has their bad people who have caused problems we canadians also have similar people in who are just as troublesome if not worse such as the junkies on the streets who I see all the time here in Montreal and cause so much chaos. a big argument which I also feel like is that we should only allow the best of the best to immigrate to Canada. my mom was an immigrant and is an incredibly hard worker who is more than deserving of a Canadian citizenship and even my close friend who immigrated from India is just like that and is also 10x cleaner than anyone else I've ever lived with. the fact of the matter is that we need to bring back those high standards which we had in the past and crack down and send back those who abused the system and illegally entered the country. A student visa is for Studying. Not for permanent residency. Not for citizenship. Not for brining one's family over. Not for working illegally. Student Visa = Study = Graduate = Return to your country to grow your own country. If one paid illegal brokers to get a visa for a job, that is not Canada's fault. If you falsified your Immigration papers to falsify you are coming to study and your family has sufficient funds it is not Canada's problem you have to repay illegal broker loans. Whomever is here past their visa period and working full time instead of continuing with their education, should be deported immediately. This is taking university seats from local Canadians and taking full time jobs away from Canadian legal citizens.

I have been hearing this racist rant since I came 53 years ago blaming the immigrants. I have never worked less than 50 hrs a week since coming to Canada and am enjoying my hard-earned retirement. I'm afraid you don't mention that all Students must bring at least $50,000 for their duration. Imagine all the jobs they created e.g. Teachers, bought food and other essentials. By the way, they have their own medical insurance. There is a shortage of workers, and small businesses can find workers. The other day we stopped in Barry'Bay for coffee they were closing the place at 2:30 pm because they didn't have enough people. You cannot blame students for the housing crisis there are other factors. Canada's economy is doing fine compared to other G-7 countries. More foreign students will fuel the research and development of this country, so please respect them.

I moved here 4 years ago from Delhi, the capital city of India and a metropolitan. Since day 1, I’ve tried to learn more and more about the Canadian culture and tried to implement the country’s values in my every day life. I’ve learned how this country works and I’m very happy for the most part. What matters is where you come from, your background, and your education. The bad bunch has literally pushed down our name in the gutter.

It's not so much the Indians themselves, but the amount of them coming in. No time to /or want to assimilate, there's a serious job and housing crunch...it's simply too much, too fast. Couple that with protests demanding they stay isn't really kosher either. Why are international students still coming to Canada when they can take the studies ONLINE and then apply properly to our country for citizenship? That’s a wise move! Then we have educated people who are proving themselves that they want to simulate Canadian people! You don’t bring your culture and force it down our throats! You BECOME Canadian!

A lots of Canadians are afraid to go to Brampton, Ontario because of high crime.\nThey protest because they failed their exams. Don't conflate hating Indians and an obviously unsustainable immigration rate. I'm a natural born Canadian, I'm pro-immigration. So long as it is managed and targeted at areas of need for the country. I never painted all Indians with the same brush when the food bank and Wasaga incidents happened. When you bring in 1.2M a year, you will get some bad actors. However, that's the issue, that many people, coming over in such a short period of time, the infrastructure and social safety net cannot support everyone. It's unfortunate, but necessary that immigration rate is reduced and reformed.

I’m Canadian, I’m in agreement with this nice Indian guy. I like Indian people but if my country is starting to spiral out of control we need to slow down the amount of immigrants coming in to allow Canada to fix itself.

In Surrey BC there is a shooting carried out by Indian gangs almost everyday. There is also a massive influx of Indians who simply make zero effort to learn the common language of this country: English. I am a 2nd generation Indian-Canadian, and even I struggle to communicate with these new migrants from India. If you want to come to this country that embraced me and my family as one of their own, you need to accept and embrace their culture and not try to replace it. \n\nAs an Indian Canadian citizen, I fully support deporting any Indian students who have overstayed their student/work visa. They need to go back because they do not love this country.

It's interesting that after decades of admitting immigrants from all over the world and celebrating it, a number of Western countries have changed their minds these past few months. All of the reasons in the video for denying people entry into Canada, or any other country, have probably been around for many years, so it's odd that the number of entry rejections has only recently shot up. Along with that, there has been a boost in deportations in some countries. \n\nDuring the same time period as this change in the various governments' views towards migration, there has also been increasing disapproval of the Israeli government. There have been massive protests against the war in Gaza on every inhabited continent. Until fairly recently, criticism towards the Israeli government was viewed as anti-Semitic, but is becoming increasingly mainstream. \n\nIt's possible that the elite have finally realized that that people from developing countries tend to be pro-Palestinian. Especially as a large number of the immigrants are Muslim, or at least come from countries that were colonies until the post-war years. Maybe these international efforts to cut down on immigrants is being driven by an effort to reduce the percentage of people who support Palestine in the West. However, so far, the elite have no way of getting rid of the increasing number of citizens of Western countries who oppose the war in Gaza.

From beginning people are immigrating from place to place and one country to another. Focusing one group of people is disgusting. I am a 4th generation Canadian (european decent).\nMy ancestors came here and didn't try to change it into a colony of where they came from, they adapted to the Canadian culture that was apparant at the time.\nThey blended in quite quickly while maintaining there home country culture at home or at community centers.\nI have welcomed immigration my entire life and still do. I have many friends who are 3rd generation Indians who speak the language and know the culture just as i do.\nThey do not try to turn Canada into india, and in turn they are accepted and respected by all.\nThe young indian students coming to Canada have been exploited in india by promoting a back door into PR status through the international student program and in Canada by employers who take advantage of their fear of deportation.\nThe blame lies on the recruiting in India, the post seconday system in Canada, the employers like Tim Hortons, uber, skip the dishes and door dash who put profits over living standards.\n The majority of the blame goes to the govt of Canada for turning a blind eye to something that everyone saw but didnt talk about for fear of being labeled a racist.\nReturn immigration to 500,000 per year including refugees, students seeking to stay and all other groups and you will see all will go back to how it was 10 years ago.\nPeace and love.

Immigration is to bring people that can improve the country, not bring people to add to the food back. If you are not self sustainable and able to become a productive memeber of society, you dont have a right to come to canada.

This is a tough video to watch. It's even more difficult to read the comments. I moved here 4 years ago from California, and Germany is the fifth foreign country in which I have lived and worked. I am undecided about whether or not I would recommend coming here or not. I have just finished a PhD in a German university, and while I don't regret it, I would not repeat the experience. \n\nThe country is simply too behind and too naive (to a near childlike extent) in just about everything. Their vision far exceeds their competence, and they are an antithesis to efficiency and professional accountability. Culturally, I prefer Germany to any other country where I have lived. But professionally, I cannot see myself staying here. No matter how well-intentioned they are, they're not going to change for the better any time soon.
