It's 100% true. International students are being exploited for tuition money and GIC money. Students have taken huge loans from their home country expecting that they will be able to get jobs and pay off their debt but since last 1 year students are jobless. We are failing to get menial labor jobs. Inflation and rent are sky high and our GIC money is not enough to survive here. I myself sleep hungry sometimes as I don't have enough money to buy food after paying rent. I think if they can't give us jobs and affordable housing, canada should stop calling itself a developed first world country. Yes. If you want to see it to believe it, come to Surrey, BC. There are so many brown students on the buses that you’ll have to wait 1-2 hours for an 80-person bus that has a space. Plus all the jobs are being taken, and I’m seeing so many homeless people on the streets now. No shelter space, and there won’t be maybe ever. All the parks are completely filled with tent cities. This is a huge disaster, bad enough that Trudeau should be removed from office.

I am Chinese ethnic was born in Höng Kong but moved to Singapore in 1984. \nAt that time I could have migrated to Canada or Australia. I am an electrical engineer with a master’s degree and have worked in the States for some time before moving to Singapore. I could have settled in the States as well if I really wanted to. But having studied and worked in the States for some time, I realised it’s not my place. Culture difference, racial discrimination, political ideology to name just a few. So I moved to Singapore which had a job for me. I have no regrets. The country has a very efficient government, housing, medical, education needs are pretty well taken care of, not perfect but good compared to many developed countries. Crime rate is among the lowest. I believe If you have the talents you can try to apply for immigration here. Also Höng Kong which has a similar standard of living is also offering good opportunities to world talents to settle over there.

Hey these are my last 15 days in Canada I have everything here good job but we are moving back for my son. Here zero social life for immigrants unless u have your relatives here already. Mg son goes to school for 4 hours and rest of the day we try to keep him busy in activities at home but we are humans too , not everyday we can keep him busy all the time away from I pad TV. I am frustrated seeing him like this. We are here since 2022 he was 2 years old now he is 3+. He has not a single interaction with other child in our apartment… just school time is interacting time for him with other kids .. as a mother I am depressed and taken decision to go back to my home … now I can see him playing outside and interacting with people…. This is actually a cop out for an answer. it is the responsibility of neighbouring states to take in refugees during times of crisis. Even far poorer nations such as Kenya have hosted refugees from neighbouring countries such as Somalia. Everything cycles from better to worse, then from worse to better again. Remembering Toronto in the mid-80s, when I was a teenager, it feels to me as though the city was in much worse shape back then. Or maybe it just felt that way because about 50% of the downtown real-estate footprint was taken up by parking lots. Such a wasteland.

People have to stop using rental prices in cities like Toronto and Vancouver. That's like Americans using rental costs in Bel-Air California or Manhattan as an example of what rent costs in America. It's not a realistic portrayal of rental costs. \nHere in Quebec the the annual tax rate is between 26.53% and 53.31%, depending on income. Then you have to consider all the socialist programs that you are forced to pay into, which also sucks up a significant amount on your weekly salary. After that, you must consider that you pay 15% sales tax on almost everything. It's safe to say that half of your yearly earnings, give or take, are taken in taxes and socialized programs. As for salaries, less than 20% of the Canadian population make a 6 figure salary. We're not talking about household income. I am talking about individual income. You're not going to become rich here in Canada! The majority of people who do become rich leave Canada to avoid taxation. Canadians live a life of debt. You will live just balancing your debt to make sure it doesn't get out of control Few Canadians have money in savings without debt. The ones who do have money saved, most of them have debts on top of their savings which is counterproductive in my opinion.

The battle between rationalism, western greco-roman values and religious faith does effect people. It's better for people who live by a book, to move to areas where Abrahamic religions still have relevance. Secularism has pluses and minuses, but is the hot bed of technology, invention and human rights. I am saddend by the number of people who have chosen to leave Canada, although I realize that this is a good decision for you and many others. This country has changed, and not for the better.
