All Canada not only Vancouver it’s very isolated.\nPeople can’t afford to buy a house because the house marketing is 3 times the price compared to USA. The houses have shitty materials compared to my original country, and you simply can’t built by your own and that’s why every price rises.\nAnother issue you didn’t mention it’s there is no scholarships, it’s incredible expensive to get a proper education like university, and even so, they no offered scholarships. In Mexico almost everyone can reach the opportunity to study to be anything (lawyers, doctors) AND there is why you can get professional services everywhere. Here in Canada the business never have profesional services (like a real Human Resources, who studies for 5 years to be the best influence in a company, or a real engineering taking care of the machines in a plant. Canada only hire the cheap hand to avoid paying and I can understand it, but if more people could study more money moves in the country.\nAnother issue is there is not any public transportation into the cities or provinces, so if you don’t have a car, a driver license (it’s not easy to get one) and pay the super expensive insurance (it’s incredible 10 times more expensive than in Mexico) your can’t move from the place you are. Because of the weather you simply can’t move in a bike.\nPeople live just for pay rent, buy some groceries and buy some pre owned cloths in the thrift store.\nAnother problem it’s many rules to open a small bussines (like selling some food) \nHealth care it’s not exactly free: you need to pay for your prescriptions out of the hospital or if you never been hospitalized. I’m a citizen with dual PG and live in USA. Initially there were many hurdles like lack of Canadian experience but I got over the problem. After 10 years of living like a homeless person in Toronto, I spent a lot of money and did my second masters (MBA) only to realize that all those stories were BS. There are no jobs in Canada. Now it’s 20+ years since I first migrated to Toronto. I still can’t get a proper job in Toronto.

Africa is perceived to give higher social life. The truth is that our social life is derived from poor economic status. Good example, let's take Nairobi leafy suburbs or any other city. In such areas residents tend to mind their own issues hence they remain indoors of workplace. But areas with lower economics status. The residents share almost all the facilities.. what will you do indoors when you have no electricity? How will you pay for delivery services while you can not afford the food? They have communal water area. People sell their commodities anywhere even on road reserves, no designated play area hence children have to play by the roads. When the system will work properly we will experience that kind of western social life.Next time give a realistic comparison.

I find its a real hit or miss. The reasons you've laid out are legit points, IF you naturalize through the proper process. Unfortunately I see a ton of immigrants who make a great living here using loopholes. I was born and raised in Toronto, I still live here. My wife on the other hand is one such person who struggles to adapt, she looks for and stays only within her cultural circle who make a better living then me because of these loopholes. One such family's husband found work that on paper, pays very little but 80% of his income comes in the form of cash. So come tax season, he claims very little and gets back a nice chunk, and is able to claim more on child tax benefits vs me. I find there are a ton of immigrants that work this way, some are even able to claim welfare while I'm struggling to get by on 3 jobs.

Hmmm not sure I agree with this vid. My friends and I do pretty well here financially. We are all millenials. Even though most of us are Canadian born, we all experience the immigrant life through our parents. We remember what it was like to be poor immigrants. But in the end all of us got the right education (i.e. not a fine arts degree...lol) and have good paying jobs as accountants, software engineers, doctors, lawyers etc... We didnt have any advantages either. We all took out student loans to pay our tuition with no help from our parents. Yet we paid it off, we own our homes, all without being house poor. It can't be that hard. Just go to a legit school, not some third world university.,.. and do do a proper degree. Nobodys gonna hire a aet history major anywhere in the world. Oh and get out of your fucking ethnic bubbles. I have friends who are White, Black, Indian, Chinese, Italian and Portuguese and we all built a decent life for ourselves. Our parents worked hard as immigrants, and this is how we were rewarded.

Coming from Russia, are you really complaining about life in Canada? Most of your points apply to large number of developed countries, no place is perfect, but Canada will give you a fair shot. Do you expect do move in a foreign country and start from the top, what world do you live in? Do your proper research and stop trolling.

The stories of people moving here and then realizing their credentials aren't as valuable and have to go back to school....should have researched this and made proper plans based on this.
