As a European having lived in both Canada and the United States for prolonged times, my view is this: Canadians are basically the same as Americans but with Health Care. They have a common heritage and history and this is like a brother turning evil and hurting its siblings. Trump is smart? I don't think so, he comes across as a low IQ individual born with privileges, heck he has been bankrupt what is it four times? Right now he thinks he is making America Great again but instead he is on a path to bankrupt even the US Economy. These kind of things in history often have caused actual physical War and he talks about Zelenski is toying with a 3rd world war. Wouldn't it be funny (and not in a comical sense) if in fact Trump causes the 3rd world war with his actions instead?

Canada, hit us with everything you got. We the good Americans fighting will weather the storm. Show the red states who just won't get it the truth!! Cut the power. Whatever you havebto do!! We will hold. Love you Canada!!!

Let us be crystal clear, what's happening now, from abandoning alliances, to siding with adversaries, to starting trade wars with our largest trading partners, is the fault of a single man, Donald Trump, while being enabled by Congressional Republicans.\n\nMake no mistake, American businesses and consumers are going to pay a dear price for the decisions of this administration.\n\nLastly, trade is the remit of Congress from a constitutional perspective. Unfortunately, Congress has progressively ceded their authority to the Executive over the past decades. They simply must retake their power at the earliest possible opportunity.

As an American I look forward to this trade war with Canada. I've never respected Trudeau as a leader and I don't respect him now after a speech. So please, teach me a lesson and I hope Trump retaliates further to teach you yours. This is your time to show us how wise or how foolish you are and I'm here for that. It won't take long to see either way, good luck, friend.

Most Educated and Informed Americans understand whats going on and dont blame Canada. Please bare with US while we go thru this turbulent time. Hopefully we will be reunited in REAL friendship again.

Only the American government is misbehaving towards the whole World. The moment other nations could survive without the US, then the Super-power status is dead for ever. The blessings in this is, other nations will learn to build inwardly to earn their respect in the future. Their economies will be better for it. Their citizen will drastically reduce migrations. And the US could take care of only his citizen and stop insulting others for their failures.

Trudeau has done more for us as Prime Minister since he stepped down than the whole time he was Prime Minister. Canadians love Americans and Trump's bullying is causing this political fallout, dividing our best friends and neighbors.

I'm Canadian - never been a fan of JT. But hearing him speak today made me proud. He's right - Canadians are polite easy going, but if you push us too far, we will retaliate. I hate this - I love America and have American friends. This sucks for both countries.

Harris voter here, you gotta do what you gotta do Canada. I don't know if I will make it through this but there are people out there in worse situations with more overtly oppressive governments, so I can't complain too much.
