Asian students only come to Canada to get PR (easiest way but more expensive). But now, finding a job is a big competition even after they graduated. Rental crisis is happening too due to illegal immigrants and massive foreign student influx. This is the same problem Australia is facing, so they are reducing foreign students intake. Local residents are finding it hard to get accommodation because of this problem!

I work for the BC provincial government, and part of my job is to hunt for homes to house women who are escaping violence. After spending 3 months searching for homes in Surrey, I've seen anywhere between 10-22 individuals living in a modest sized home. These homes are often very well run-down, have poor plumbing, and many illegal suites, and I've literally seen people sleeping in closets. Landlords can get away with this because the students from India don't care, don't have a choice, or are used to this standard. What the federal government is doing is unbelievable, allowing many people into the country. Just because international students come from places where they can sleep on top of each other doesn't mean they should allow it to happen here, reducing the living standards for everyday tax-paying Canadians. Despicable.

I'm only halfway through but feel I need to comment and well I'm not exactly a new Canadian. But I was born the but grew up in New Zealand. And well why not . I moved over there in 2014 with full rights as a citizen. My trade wasn't recognised. Canada has its own rules about everything. You need to have training to pour drinks in a bar wtf.! But yea I came wanting a better life and well thankfully I wound up in Calgary so eventually I had the money to leave. And come home where know having seen the Canadian shit show I'm killing it here. And not to lie I look old Canadian so I fit right in English is my first language and all that. And funnily enough it was the first time in my life where I could say fucking immigrants. It's a brutal place a brutal work climate and well there's a lot that's nice but when it's bad it's dog ear dog. I feel really sad about what's happening, all the mass illegal immigration and yet your a criminal for noticing it. A lot is very wrong, don't get me wrong nz is doing all the same shit too. I went to Canada for prosperity and to change my life lesson I learnt was go home ans do better and that's fucked.

This is exactly why we need to support the Texas border. They get a stop the problem. Instead of using up our resources. On helping illegal immigrants. Because once they're here, we gotta deal with this s*** and pay for it. What we need to do is submit a tax to Texas. To help financially fund whatever resources they need to do with the problem down there.

There are mayors and local governments in the U.S. and Canada who proudly proclaim themselves socialist, Marxist, left wing activists, and yet they do nothing to encourage the construction of more rental apartments. Nobody wants to construct rental apartments in both nations because condominiums are more profitable. Am I saying the mayors and local governments should get into the landlord business? But it is also at the expense of tens of thousands of lives and an entire nations facilities. The Arab world are letting the bodies pile high until the west can't look away any more. I understand both sides of this and dislike both options, letting Palestinians die, and letting Israel take Gaza by accepting refugees. I can't say I support Saudi Arabias actions, but I also would feel the same if they opened their doors to refugees. Neither one are the right solution, and only we westerners can make this stop. And believe me, I am trying to do my part. I have signed. I have shared. I have donated. I have protested. And I will continue to do so until there is a free Palestine

Anyone who crosses the border illegally for any amount of time be it five minutes or 5 years , it’s a life time ban from ever entering this country again . They have to pass a law like this and have include the ones already here , if you get caught you are deported and never allowed to enter the country legally again period never again. I would have the president give a speech encouraging all illegal immigrates that from this moment until 30 days from now you will have to go back to your home country, if you can’t afford it we will put you on a flight to the airport of our choice in your homeland.So for the next 30 days you will not be stopped or detained if you are leaving the country but anyone who’s still here after that deadline and caught there’s no immigration court with free lawyers you are gone with a life time ban . If you want to come legally than all the regular procedures are still in place . First find a sponsor, than get a visa so you can go to the immigration office and get a background check , if you don’t qualify than too bad it’s not our fault you don’t meet our requirements to be eligible to become a U.S. citizen. If you pass the background check and can prove you can support yourself and have a place to live then you get a green card and you get in line while you are in this country and wait your turn to become a U.S. citizen .

All your points are valid. I would add that, sadly, many come to Canada to get a citizenship of convenience. Once they have a dual citizenship as Canadian, they go back to the home country and only remember that they are Canadian when they want or need something. Making dual citizenship illegal would resolve this. You are in or you are out. He who serves two masters, serves neither.

The canadian and american problem is that we let too much illegal foreigners get in. They create unnecessary competition. For example as you mentioned about renting, they can happily live 20 species in an apartment without anu issues.

Rent will keep increasing as there is no competitive market. as many of the people in Canada are already operating carousel tax fraud. Look that up on W5 and Canada is doing nothing to stop this, guess where all the ones at the top of that carousel are from? Let's think about this clearly, as the population grows we need more businesses, more schools, more produce etc... Fact we need the same amount of business for a community based on the size of the community I would think. In the 1800's a small school house was sufficient, a local convenience store was enough with a mail order catalogue etc.. As population grows you need more. We also now have self check outs etc.. We are cutting down Canadas number one resource trees to make way for more and more roads etc.. Having to spend more to change and widen roads, feed these refugees, support them till they get situated, house them for how long, educate, train them, and then hope they can actually adapt and not hate us etc.. Look around the world and not just in our own back yards i.e. what happened in NY today, look at Britain afraid to put up Merry Christmas not to offend or any Christian monuments. I love Toronto.However for these last few yaers things have gone from bad to worse. Vsf services in the uk. I watched for 4 hours as security at the front desk wemt through ever entrants application and told them the picture format they had was wrong. They made everyone retake pictures in a booth for £10 each which they had the keys for (I seen them open it as money got stuck). Only when you go to the desks when your number is called all those people were told their pictures were incorrect an the guy would take them with a camera they had. The original pictures many had come inti the building with were actually the correct formart but they were not accepting them. They were also making people do unnecessary photocopies from the machine in the place, and go on the internet at at ridicules charge unnecessarly. They would also make out there is a mistake on peoples form and then say they would refil it themselves for £10 cash. All these methods were illegal ways of getting money out of people. Dont believe go there and sit for 3 hour and see yourself.

People make mistakes comparing Canada with America. In Canada even to get survival jobs without a work permit isn’t easy. You need a work permit. No under the table jobs available and employers here don’t want to risk employing people under the table because they do not want to risk being fined after they get caught. Canada has also housing crisis even for Canadians. Shelters are mostly designed for people experiencing homelessness and also living with drugs and alcohol addiction. In USA you can live and work when you are still illegal not the same in Canada. Do your research before you get on a plane to Canada.

1. Canada's immigration is primarily skilled labour. Non- skilled labour is imported mostly from the Carribean countries especially Jamaica and you have to leave every year and come back in the next. So, that can be disruptive, but I've met Jamaican's who've been on those programs and done well as well as those who haven't.\n2. If you come to Canada illegally utakipata. Be prepared to hustle for long.\n3. Since Covid everything has become very expensive especially housing. \n4. The videos you've shown of people sleeping outside is because of an increase in the influx of refugees wanting to come to Canada. Refugee shelters are allocated money in the budget for what the Govt estimates will be the number of refugees they'll take in, but there's been an influx lately.\n- A point to note though, ALL refugees Canada received from Ukraine had jobs within 2 months. Why? very skilled labour.\n- Canada's refugee policy is much more lenient than in the US and thus most refugees have been coming to Canada even from the US. The US ones have since been blocked by an agreement signed by both countries.\n5. Are there jobs in Canada? YES, but they require certain skills. The good thing is that once you get one, its the beggining of good fortunes.\n6. If you have skilled qualifications, be prepared to start at a lower level than you are used to and claw your way up. Just don't expect to start where you left off. A Nigerian friend of mine who had performed several surgeries in Nigeria could not be hired until he went back to get certified here in Canada. He has since joined the medical field after going back to school.\n\nAll in all, research, research, research before you make any move.

When you immigrate, to get any Govt service like a Driving License, School admission, and even a job, you need a social security/insurance number. That number is pegged on your entry visa. If you are a visitor, you have to convince the Govt why they should let you work? If you are a student, it is limited the number of hours you work. Any employer is obligated to employ only those with credentials. If you are coming for work, like Nurses do, employers will have done your paperwork. Green cards are one legal way to immigrate. If you have legal papers, you make your way around without issues. Cost of living varies on location. As for skills, you need them, get them over time. There are good and bad stories, even locals who mess up end up in crap like an illegal immigrant would.
