Here are some thoughts - 1) Stop issuing PRs to unskilled workers by revising the point system and tightening eligibility criteria. 2) do not grant PR to old parents until their child has become a citizen. they should not be allowed to work for more than 10 hours a week. 3) Limit social security benefits for immigrants during their first three years, allowing only essential healthcare for critical issues. 4) Halt the practice of granting easy citizenship. Extraordinary talent should be eligible for citizenship after three years, while others should only qualify after paying taxes for five years within the last ten. 5) Stop issuing LMIAs that are quite frequently misused for cheap labor. 6) Restrict work permits to a maximum of 5K per year until demand increases. 6)Limit the number of refugees to no more than 10K per year. In addition to these points, all existing loopholes must be closed.

The Landlord/Tenant laws continue to increase the disadvantage towards landlords. Tenants not paying rent for months and months and months being allowed to continue to live in the property is beyond ridiculous. Many of these tenants are completely aware of how to game the system, and the laws. The most recent changes did nothing to increase protection for landlords but did the exact opposite, making it close to impossible to evict a tenant without giving them a big payday.

Cost of living in Germany is much higher- rents, energy(because of green policies and taxes), services(because of costly labor), etc. \nImagine a budget of 1000-1500 eur to give you a nice apartment(400-500), bills, food and bars/restaurants 1-2 times per week. With a net salary of 2500 eur(average for qualified jobs in the capital) you can save 1000 eur or more with ease. With almost no illegals security, standard of living, etc is close to german. That is why qualified bulgarians do not go to Germany anymore. Same comparison can be done with all other EU contries. \nBecause of socialist policies for equal payment, high taxes, etc even germans leave Germany. What was the number? I think I saw more than 100000 qualified germans leaving each year. But why stay? To be taxed so that an engineer gets 1.5-2 times the janitor? With german social security unemployed get more than many working people. Closing the magnetic door behind me.. \n.. with a lunch bag… school bag..\nshoe bag… and a jacket… I ptoceeded to the bus stop located just a few steps from the\nCentre… a regular routine I do\n.. to get a bus to take me home..\n… I saw a burly half-naked man\n( Caucasian) seated on the bench.\n Fast forward… he stood up….\n… approached me… and cursed me… ranting racial slurs… ( I am\nan Asian) … then sbout to kick me\n.. but I was able to ward it…I got\na push after… I decided to ran back to the Centre… but he again\n.. got behind me..and push me again… ! I remember hitting him \nwith my jacket and my lunch bag\n… but he spat at me… !! \n Lucky me… the bus came…\nI was able to get in fast…\n I thought I won’t make it \nhome… that day… because that\ncrazy man was really after me…!\n I can never forget that day\n…. and the trauma I had after .

Same here in New Jersey. A Turkish woman rented an apartment from my landlord and did not pay any rent after three months. She worked the system for 9 months and finally, a day before the court date, she vacated the apartment without paying close to $35K in back rent. In the end, back rent and legal fees came to $43K. I don't think Germany is any way open for skilled workers. It's actually closed and every path is a dead end for those who think Germany could be a better option in Europe. Just say the truth instead talking around so much and said only one thing, that you are moving from Canada. Just say, everything is to expensive. The life became running after expenses. At the same time there is less and less opportunities. After you add to all that, the fact that the life style in 6 to 7 months long winter is limited, boring, monotone, mainly in closed environment. Even people who have a lot of money cannot change this life style much. There is a lots of more details, but these are the most obvious once.

I left Germany after a year working.\nReason:\n15%- Even though i learnt german, but still faced discrimanation sometimes due to colour. Due to discrimanation outsiders can never go up the ladder. In the USA, You would see many Indians as CEO, but in Germany its impossible.\n25% - Work is too slow. Many people remain on leave/holiday. Not just my office, bank and other gov work are also very slow.\n20% - Too many immigrants. its no more germany. school has almost 80% non german.\n10% - Dependency on trains, and trains are often delayed. Getting driving licence takes lot of time.\n5% - Cold weather\n5% - High taxes (but we get some benefits)\n5% - People are very closed. I wanted to help and talk to neighbour, but they were so cold to interact.\n5% - Away from home, never felt like home.\n5%- Doctor appointment, sply for kids is nightmare. \n5%- Drugs, beer, smokers everywhere. No culture.\n\nOthers find difficulty in finding house, but i got easily.\nNow some positive:\n\n50% - Too much time for yourself. But it goes in bringing grocery and housework.\n20% - Pure air and water... lot of greenery to go around.\n20% - connectivity and tourism to rest of europe.\n5% - Free schools, good open grounds.\n\n\nMy personal reason was spirituality is missing in Germany.
