This story is very true. I came to Canada when i was 10. Was raised in Canada and life was great. All that changed in the last 10 years. Everything is sooo expensive you have to cut back on leisure activities that you need to keep your mind healthy after a long work week. All i did was work long hours for the necessities for me and my family. After a long conversation about a year ago with my wife, we decided to move back to Portugal (I have dual citizenship). We moved this past summer and couldnt be happier. Life here is much more laid back and you are not charged to do the simple leisure activities like going to a provincial park. Food is cheaper, housing is cheaper, insurance is cheaper and weather is 100x better. No more having to hibernate at home in the winters. Only thing i found more expensive here was electronics and fuel. Something needs to change in Canada.

I don't blame you, I was born and raised in Canada and its not what like what it was 20-30 years ago. On top of a crappy climate and endless gray days, terrible health services, falling standards of living no thanks to Trudeau. Canada's golden period frankly in the 1970s its been in decline since overall, there was a brief boom in the late 2000s/early 2010s under Harper but its all but evaporated.

You did it so early!! U could have stayed a bit and should have done more!! U r one of the lucky who got their PR, alot of people are trying so hard to go. Only one concern i have to go there bcoz as a muslim, we get worried about how the kids will be raised bcoz everything is so open! They teach sex so clearly so early too and alot of other things like teaching transgender in schools. It is such a problem. Then eating problem, we cnt eat any meat xpt halal meat. I thijk u went to toronto, its v hard there now albcoz too much taxes and too much expensive it is now. U should move to another province.

How can we help others when we cant even provide for our own? Born and raised canadians are ended up on the streets in record numbers and the cost of living is higher then its ever been. If this isnt a sign something is seriously wrong I dont know what is. Under these circumstances the only course of action is to reduce immigration until we can fix the the issues with housing and the cost of living. Doing anything else will only cause the problems to grow.

AS AN ACTUAL CANADIAN I was born and raised here 20 years ago and now I can't get a job because of immigrants I can't get an apartment because of immigrants I can't get a room in my own college because of immigrants i can't get into some classes because of immigrants. So is this Canada or Indian I don't get it?

Trudeau has systematically destroyed every aspect of Canadian life over the past 8 years. I feel badly for immigrants that have come here to make a better life, being very disappointed with the reality of life in Canada with its high inflation, high taxes, high crime rates, a compromised judicial system and poor healthcare. Many of us that were born and raised here are also looking to leave. It's shocking how far this country has fallen in 8 years and there's no sign that this government will change course anytime soon.

I was born and raised in Toronto and lived 57 years there. 6 months ago, I moved to Saskatchewan having never visited before. I'm ashamed of Toronto. It's not what it was. I outgrew it and although I have good memories of what it once was, it no longer is. And I will forever tell everyone it's not even worth the visit.

I supervise a lot of immigrants, the majority are problematic and less productive than the local population. This is all about universities making bank and corporations paying people less, nothing more. A country doesn't need immigrants, it needs a financially stable and safe environment to raise children that will become the productive workforce and innovators.

“Most productive”. I believe so… I went to school with some people from Indian and they were incredible, very smart and studious. I loved them… but we should NEVER forget to put Canadians first. I know a lot of moms with older kids who are sending their children to study in Europe or in the US, because they can’t get a spot in Canadian universities. I totally agree that this country will break your spine and test your ultimate willpower. Me and my wife came here 5 years back and we decided that we will shut ourselves like a tortoise. Forget about savings and forget about everything else. Only and only one goal we had in mind is that we will live in the basement and earn top dollars. Just to give you a perspective. My first pay was 19 dollar per hour and my current pay is 87 per hour. My wife started with 16.5 per hour and now earning 69 per hour. Even though our income grew substantially, we never raised our expenses. Answer to all problems in Canada is income. Now after 5 years we bought house worth of 1.4 M. We moved out of basement and felt immense pride. We paid 37% down payment and 3 banks approved our mortgages in a heartbeat. No debt at all. We paid up our car in full. Just a regular new suv nothing fancy. \nEveryone is different, we all are unique and I believe you took a right decision. Each and every word you said in the video is true. \nWe cried , we fought , we felt that our life is ruined but we both thought that ek bar to Canada ko harana hai. I am a Catholic in America and the pain that I have felt to witness what my country is allowing to take place in Palestine is just heartbreaking. High grocery prices, home mortgages till 65 years, high gas, hydro water bills, raised auto insurance, crime and car thefts, poor health and prescription coverage, uncertainty in jobs, high Taxes and 13 % HST, youngster not to struggle for homes in their life are primary reasons to leave this old beautiful country.

Canada hasn't always been this expensive, no. On a single, very average, middle-class salary, my Grandparents bought a detached home in the GTA, raised 6 kids and still managed to save around $350,000 for retirement despite the fact my Grandfather's job (as many jobs did in those days) provided him with a defined-benefit pension plan, which has been entirely stripped away from modern workers.\n\nThat was a mere 60 years ago. Canada used to be a paradise. All you needed was a willingness to work.

Maybe if the city raised property taxes and put it towards making more bike paths, we could be more of a world class city.

I guess wherever you want to move to, it has to be a muslim-majority country. I'm a Singaporean but currently living in Amman for the past 16 years. I won't advise you to come here though raising your kids here would be wonderful. One obvious factor that makes me not recommend you is the economy of the country. Many graduates here can't find a good job.. pay is low, high cost of living and so many would rather work in the gulf countries. But moving to an islamic country and raising my kids here, where they learn the deen and speak Arabic as the first language is ultimately the reward. Especially that we are very close to Palestine makes my kids be more aware of their deen and inshaAllah remain steadfast. Alhamdulillah
