My American husband and I moved to Los Angeles from Montreal, because of the fact there was still a lot of live music compared to other places. It was a great 17 years of music but guns started to be more of an issue. Health care was big, and was going to affect us soon, and then tRUmp came in . We knew that the changes were NOT going to be for better health care, or better gun laws, or better immigration policies, and we moved back to Canada. Now we don't even want to visit because of the current situation re all the aforementioned issues. I wouldn't dream of moving back. And numerous friends have asked how can they get into Canada.The Canadian immigration site crashed when tRump won. if not married to a Canadian, most people would be rejected. i appreciate our system of government; tRump would have been tossed out early on with a Vote of No Confidence.

8:15 there’s a reason for this. It’s a melting pot in America. Bringing all these different cultures together… but if too many from one country show up, they’ll make a community too large that they don’t need to melt with the population. There are Chinatowns and Little Italys and whole Mexican communities, but ultimately everyone has to interact with everyone else. Allowing 300,000 Indians to get green cards every year and only 1,000 Norwegians would lead to the Norwegians merging well with the country, while the Indians would all move to one or two cities and make entire sections of the cities like small versions of their own country. Which is the last thing we want. Once an immigrant community gets enough power to be a voting block, things are scary, but once it has enough power that they start getting their own representatives and passing laws for the rest of us? Laws the look like laws they had back in their own countries… that led them to run from their countries in the first place? It’s a concern. We want people to adapt to the USA and not try to adapt the USA to them. Over time, the US does change due to the growing voting blocs. But that’s after generations of those immigrant populations getting larger, and their children being born and raised in the country they’ve adapted to. When I see a protest of Muslim immigrants burning pride flags, or Chinese and Spanish-speaking Hispanic immigrants who never bothered to learn English, I see problems with our immigration system. But the kids of the Arab immigrants will be more tolerant, and the Hispanic kids will have grown up in American schools. Most Chinese-American kids might speak some Chinese at home with their parents, but they’re worse at it, and their first language is English. It takes second Generation immigrants to really start meshing with America. But if entire school districts are all Indian, and every store, restaurant, and business in a whole town is Indian, then those kids won’t adapt to America. They won’t get bits of their home culture from their time at home and with their neighbors, while also getting bits of American culture from their classmates and other people around them. Nope. They’ll only be exposed to the first Generation who completely took over the area- IF, we allowed for unfettered immigration from the largest countries. It’s a fact that immigrant communities like to stick together. But if not enough people are in that community that you need to reach out to others around you, it helps expose you to the rest of America… Anyway! There are a ton of shows that indirectly show this phenomena. Fresh Off the Boat. The Sopranos. Even Brooklyn 99. We see as traditional and hard-to-adapt parents have to deal with kids in the next generation who are more American, don’t follow the same customs and traditions as their parents, and overall just left more of their old culture behind. No one is asking that immigrants abandon their cultural ties, but if you come to America, there are things that people need to change and accept if they’re going to live here.

This video is a joke with an agenda. If America let in people as easily as Canada did and in the same proportion to its population could it not end up having the same housing crisis? Besides that, the video pretends Canada is this amazingly superior place when it comes to immigration when the left wing government wants to bring people in in the hopes that they will mainly vote liberal. In America in the 2020 election which way certain states went (such as Pennsylvania) came down to immigration. People have done studies and found if they threw citizenship at certain people they'd be voting around 70% Democrat. Where the government sets these people up also determines election outcomes. I don't want to live in a country where the government values immigrants for voting purposes more than the native population. That is a subversion of democracy. Imagine being born in America and living there your entire life. There are politicians that feel no obligation to change your mind and win your vote. Instead they look at you and those like you as people that are to have to their votes negated/canceled out by forcing another amnesty of illegal immigrants. They would rather reward criminals for their crimes to win an election than actually make a case for electing them to law abiding American citizens.

And more than half of them have the right to vote, to fundamentally alter our nation. \nThere's also no way Americans believe that more than half of the country are immigrants. Almost all immigrants in the US live in a few specific regions. Most Americans see very few immigrants throughout the year. Perhaps, it was offset by the number of Americans surveyed who do live in those specific regions. Surveys tend to prioritize diversity and weigh the opinions of particular groups differently. If they tended to call urban area codes more often, and weighed the votes in proportion to size of the population that each group makes up, then the people saying 50% in say New York or Washington state, which represent many different groups will offset the people saying 5% in Kansas, which are all getting grouped into the older, Whiter cohorts. Most Americans under 18 are non-White. \nOnly 15% of Americans under 18 should be non-White, if America were an ethnically stable nation. Thus, 38% of Americans are recent (post 1970s) immigrants.

Definitely a Hell No to moving the US. Americans either identify as Democrat or Republican. They make a political party part of their personality and blindly vote for that party every election regardless of how corrupt their politicians are. I used to enjoy visiting the US as a kid, but it has become so crazy that I have zero interest in visiting it now.

America has mad shootings daily, they are famously the dumbest country on the planet. Democracy is important, but the USA is falling away from this. Two political parties is dangerous too. Need way more options. The facts that a majority of Americans voted in a celebrity billionaire racist loser makes me think they are even dumber than they are famous for. Climate incompetent. I've worked with a lot of people who have moved to the US for work. It's a very compatible place for Canadians to go. The culture is very similar. People move for work pretty seamlessly. I lot of older canadians go to the southern US for 6 months a year for the weather but maintain their canadian citizenship for he medical coverage. \n\nThe COVID mess where twice as many US citizens per capita died compared to Canadians was a bit of a downer. Watching how poorly the political system seems to be to deal with all the real world problems that are out there. \n\nThat 73,000,000 voted for a self admitted scammster and criminal for President is troubling. \n\nThe Gun mess also tends to chase people off. \n\nThe American people seem to be desperate to maintain their freedom to kill each other. I ‘ve met so many Americans on trips and through living in San Francisco for 3 months for a course. They were very kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable people. I also love many beautiful places in the States. I find though, that the media ignores Canada to a great degree only reporting negative issues . I don’t care for the super nationalism of the government, the gun laws, the many wars they’ve been involved in, nor do I like the racism and the present divisiveness of the country given that a person like Trump could be voted in and have so much power! That is frightening! I could never have afforded my two hip and knee replacements as well as other surgeries and the birth of four children had I lived there consequently, I would make friends with Americans who move here withthe same principles, but no to moving to the United States OF America.I was happy to return to beautiful Vancouver Island, (which was voted one of the top Islands in the world by CNN, Time magazine and Conde Nast, )

These people do not have red, white and blue running through their veins. They just want to drain the US dry and trash it to the ground. I’m an independent that usually votes Democrat, but the border should be a nonpartisan issue.\n\nAmerica is not like Europe. European countries are the sizes of states, and they have the European Union to cross govern.\n\nAmerica does not have a relationship with Canada or Mexico like any of the EU countries.\n\nWe cannot be letting this happen. I feel for the people suffering in Mexico, I truly do. But mass illegal immigration is not the solution.\n\nNo matter how bad things get in America, I will never just walk over to Canada and demand a job.\n\nOur societies have to function on a system, and that system demands legal immigration.\n\nWe have to do something, but when it’s a bridge like this…I don’t know what ethical solutions there would be. \n\nMaybe an electrical fence? The thought of a child being electrocuted because they were pushed into that fence is devastating to me; it would be heartbreaking to see anyone injured that way.\n\nWe can’t hurt these people, that’s not right. But we have to find some way of keeping them from crossing illegally.\n\nA wall, a mote, an electric fence—honesty, I don’t see how any of those would keep people out…\n\nIt’s just an awful mess. Forget Democrats versus Republicans. This is an issue every American should recognize.

We lost our republic in the 1870s and since then corporate America has controlled every aspect of our lives. We’ve lived under an elusive veil of freedom for over a century. You have to pay the government their share for everything, private business isn’t legal without government permission, can’t hunt/fish without government involvement, can’t build a self sufficient home without government involvement and regulation. Antibiotics and anti diarrheal and any REAL medicine that isn’t some deadly pharmaceutical is federally controlled and not accessible to the general public, historical and scientific information is withheld from the population. We even made up our own version of history just to brainwash these past few generations. And it worked, because people have had the collective knowledge of human history at their fingertips since the late 2000s…. It’s called the fucking internet, And maybe 5% of Americans took advantage of that and informed themselves. The other 95% just soaked up YT and Tik Tok while they make repugnant Baaa Baa claims about the left and right. Just constantly feeding into this division THEY created. The left and right are owned by THE SAME PEOPLE and the these people put who they want in office. There’s underlying parts of our government that fight this, and get people they don’t particularly like in the door. Like the Kennedy’s and Trump but we have no value in voting. It’s just another way to suck on that big red white and blue dick. The truth is we are the sovereign people, and we hold sovereignty over this country, and it’s our goddamn responsibility to fight the fucking corruption that’s in our government. And we’re just a nation of pussies, we have legislation called the 2A that explains in detail those responsibilities. The 2A was never about guns, it was about protecting the republic. Look at the world right now, the people in countries that don’t have legislation like the 2A are rising against their governments.
