everybody knows that Canada needs more living places, houses. but nobody takes action, politicians, they do not care how you feel, they only care about whether you will vote them or not.

Im canadian. I know it's a stereotype but people are just so nice in Canada. People do say sorry a lot, thank you, please. Lots of people hold doors for you, strangers love to small talk and are very friendly. It's pretty common that if someone drops their wallet, someone will return it to the owner. This is why I love Canada so much.

A Ukrainian immigrant here. Absolutely in love with beautiful canadian nature, cute little houses, especially townhouses in toronto, just so wholesome. As for life, you gotta be some sort of specialist like a doctor, or a proper construction worker, or a truck driver to have a decent life that goes beyond just getting by and eking out an existence. On my own i can make enough money for food and rent, but thats about it, and im happy about it, really, i get to be alive thanks to canada, but i really hope i could move out of here as soon as it becomes safe, or just move to a cheaper country thats a decent distance away from russia. I ended up being unemployed and i do feel like im in quite a real danger on eventually becoming homeless if i dont manage to procure a job, and you know how the job market is now. As for health care, i simply dont have access to it, at least i dont have a family doctor and have been trying for a while to get one. I haven't tried walking ins yet since i prioritize food over health now but i might someday. I just hope that whatever sickness bugs me is minor, i cant do anything about it. My teeth hurt too, but i cant afford a dentist, and ive found one Clinique in toronto that helps immigrants fix their teeth for cheap, they can help you with three teeth in total, and i've used up one of it, and saving the rest for real emergencies. I cant eat anything except for real soft food, and i know im not gonna get any help i could afford any time soon.\nOnce i get a job i will be saving as much money as i can to leave Canada, i don't know where yet but i'm doing my research and hopefully will find a place, and if not well, sucks to suck. I think most of this must apply in other parts of Canada, Ive lived in Ottawa for 10 yrs now and never met more rude people. They dont want to get to know you, they dont want you talking to them, they dont want to follow up on anything they say, over and over ive been told people would come over and they never do. even after making plans, they still no show you. Im From Texas, and ITs way more friendlier there.

Just wondering how long you been in Canada. Because apparently you do not know which are the 3 biggest cities. Not it is not Toronto, Montreal and Calgary. But Toronto, Montreal and VANVOUVER.

I want to bring attention to the fact that when an Airline submits a Record of Employment (ROE) to Service Canada for flight crew. The hours the company puts for insurable hours is the hours per month based on the pay hours not the actual amount of hours worked. Pilots for example are usually paid based on 80 hours of flying per month, actual time in the air. However, we all know it takes a lot more work to get an airplane ready to fly. These are the Duty Hours, the actual hours worked. The Airlines do not use the Duty Hours for the Records of Employment. The rules regarding insurable hours does state that it is the actual real world hours worked or as close as possible to that number. Something needs to be done because it is not fare for a full time employee to then be given an ROE with just 80 hours of insurable hours per month when they actually could work way more than that. Please someone investigate and report on this.

In Canada, there is not enough housing and jobs are scarce, especially for anyone at the entry level or basic wage. We've been absolutely swamped. This is not the fault of the immigrants or the students, it's the fault of our extremely stupid and short sighted government. Most of those immigrants I encounter are good people, polite and considerate. But some, well I understand where the complaints about rude and inconsiderate behaviour come from, because it only takes a few bad experiences to get people angry. I've experienced it myself, but most of it (from my experience) seems to be from students who are very loud and impolite on public transit. The housing situation here is INSANE, prices are sky high and very little to choose from. A lot of seniors now can only afford to rent a room (after having worked all their lives and very little to show for it), and prices are up about 50% from only 5 years ago. The government says inflation is a fraction of what it is in real life, and living expenses have exploded. As I understand it, some people made a lot of money offering services to bring students and low wage workers in, with no consideration to the damage they were doing to all of us who were born and raised here - they wanted to make their million dollars. Another problem is that once someone arrives here, what they find is NOT what they were led to believe. What students and immigrants are told they need to live here is an absolute lie, living here in Canada has become very expensive. Many workers are severely under paid, and never even see the legal minimum wage, and the problem with that is, almost no Canadian will be hired on to those jobs - the reasons are that imported foreign workers will work below minimum wage because they are trapped here, and the Canadians already know that they will only struggle if they take jobs that pay so poorly. So yes, a lot of Canadians are VERY angry, and you really can't blame them. Once again, the Canadian government is responsible for much of this, and crooked employers who are willing to take advantage of low wage labour. It's an absolute mess.

For licensed doctors I would think that the 4 years would be a snap if you already know the material but beside that , if they went back because they could work in their field in there home country then why did they come here in the first place. Obviously it wasn't violence or fear for their lives.\n If they come here and enjoy the first years but then the reality kicks in when the benefits stop that they may have to work for minimum wage and they now know that a person making minimum wage in Canada is makes you homeless, can't afford a car or the gas, insurance and can only buy food , that they realize that they were better off where they were. It;s time our government informed these people of the harsh reality of how our governments have allowed our once great country to become place where it;s citizens suffer under these financially inadequate conditions that are only made worse by immigration numbers that far exceed our ability to house them. Maybe have them try to support themselves on the income they would get here while they are still in their country, or if it made a condition that our government must prove that they can sustain themselves with minimum wage before they can immigrate then immigration would be denied because heaven help them if minimum wage isn't enough because welfare/odsp is like jumping from the frying pan into the fire.

I dont know wtf is this. My friend moved to Montreal , pretty quickly got a studio for 600 euro near downtown. And she says the minimum wage is enough to cover all expenses, and she is new there. She likes it there more than in Dubai, and she had a great and well-paid job in Dubai.\nYes, canada can still do better and should have higher salaries or at least lower cost of house rent. One can argue that mass immigration from Europe change aboriginal local culture in Canada and now it is changing again due to recent mass immigration so why is this a problem now? People complaining do not acknowledge that Canada created a corrupt system where educational institution made money from foreign students, foreign student in return were happy as long as they got to work (atleast they are willing to work) for money but the moment money is taken away, they feel cheated. These foreign student are not entitle to a PR card when they knowing came to Canada as a students. In fact, we should look at the root cause of these problems. It is the colleges making money off these immigrants, it is the corporate who do not want to pay decent living wages to Canadians so they are hiring these immigrants at a minimum wages jobs. This is called capitalism where the corporate has to save as much money as possible for their share holders. So yes immigration is a huge problems but immigrant alone are not at fault. Fault lies with the government (federal, provincial and municipal) and the corporate entities in Canada as well.

interesting I live in the US, and we have the same problems here homelessness, drug overdoses, and high taxes, some states have higher taxes than others, home prices are skyrocketing, and no new homes are being built. no new low-income housing. Just a real shortage in housing period.. Yet, we have gotten so many immigrants from all over the world flooding here. I can't understand why they come. We have terrible medical care. Someone can have my spot; I'm leaving. Earned more money in both China and US than in Canada, plus cost of living was a tiny fraction in China vs Canada. Could eat out every day, never cooked, comfortably traveled abroad once a month, saved more than 50% my net income each month. In Canada can't even cover basics with my Canadian income, have to tap into savings I earned abroad for basic monthly expenses. I don't know what kind of life and jobs and living conditions these people who like Canada had before coming but for me this is a gigantic downgrade in quality of life and purchasing power.

I don't know of a country that quotes your salary after tax because it depends on many factors. One should also remember that taxes cover much of the safety nets you may depend upon at some point in your life - unlike many other countries such as the US.\nThe Canadian government already can supply your income documents that you can download and even supply tax software for you to use.\nThankfully there is indeed a difference in culture between US and Canada - who would seriously like living in a country where guns are everywhere causing more than two mass shootings per day.

THIS caused a loop and huge inflation also rush to houses, cars, hard products etc. That way, companies make enormous profits especially construction companies & car manufacturers. Why did government decide to do that so? Because government wanted to secure financial status of these big companies without banks giving them loans by transferring wealth from people to companies.\n\nThere is another side for these moves: Globally, there is an ongoing plan to lower birthrate in well-developed countries such as Canada, France, Germany etc. Why is that? They say, people from western countries create more carbon emissions than people in India, Bangladesh etc and in order to ensure green transformation of energy, birthrate must(?) fall. \n\nThere are also other reasons that we live in difficult times. But that's enough. We, people, have to do something. The day passes without a protest, governments & big companies get more strength and enforces hard conditions on people.

My daughter is nearing the end of 2 great years in Canada on an IEC (backpacker) visa from Australia. She’s loved the people, the landscape (mostly lived in BC and Alberta) , and working there…. She picked up interesting jobs, worked very hard, just about made ends meet, has been great. \n\nShe was even offered a permanent job by a major Canadian co last year (she was working for them on a one year role at the time) that would’ve paved the way for her to apply for PR…but she turned it down without a second thought….. for all the reasons you would know about \n\n- Wages aren’t great (maybe 20% less than australia), \n\n- taxes are high (incl having to pay CPP…in australia the employer pays all pension contributions, on top of wages), \n\n- groceries prices out of kilter, \n\n- rents consume most of what’s left…. \n\n- AND, even if you could save a deposit for a house, or shoebox apartment….what’s the point, could never afford it. \n\nShe’s seen nearly all her Canadian friends resigned to their fate of being perennial renters, of being perpetually skint. It’s no life. She’s sad to see it - coming from a country of perpetual optimism and opportunity, to learn over time how such a (on many levels) similar country isn’t like that, that has somehow got it all so wrong. \n\nIf you are thinking of “australia” as your answer, it’d be a fair call\n\n- Avoid Sydney if you can (a less expensive Vancouver) but rest of the place is “workable”. \n\n- Average wage in Perth is $100k (C$90k) and average house (full size…not an apt or townhouse) price is about $700k (C$630k) …so do-able, if tight to start with, for youngsters (like you..!) \n\n- I’ve been to Vancouver’s East Hastings St, and so can confirm is nowhere close to that in Oz. Are sketchy parts of all cities, but it’s definitely not community wide\n\n- are small pockets of homelessness (esp but not only indigenous community) but the governments are mostly (sort of…) “on it” \n\n- sun, sea, sand… and the sharks rarely come close to shore!

This is me a decade ago moving from Phils to Canada. I never felt at home in the country of my birth — I hated the traffic and the monsoon rains (it can rain for months). I know a lot of nationalities rave about our tropical country & beautiful beaches but it also has become unaffordable for us the citizens. We became Canadians 5 yrs ago & have grown from 4 to 6 (2 Canada born kids) & now have 2 properties. It has worked for us but it was also not easy uprooting our lives & starting over. I don’t think we will ever find our home anywhere. Previously my husband and I also lived in the US (before kids). It is truly a privilege to be here but I always feel I am sojourner, always traveling & always searching. I hope you find your peace wherever life takes you. I live on Vancouver Island across from Vancouver. I have a beautiful apartment, just under 1000 sq.ft. with a 450 sq.ft. deck across the street from the ocean. I pay $1475 per month all included and I have a large dog. My son lives in Victoria in the top floor of a house in the beautiful Gorge neighbourhood: 1400 sq.ft., 2 bedrooms all utilities included for $1800. My sister has a 3 bedroom townhouse in Victoria, she pays $1500 per month (no utilities included). I only wish nobody wanted to live in Canada. I have seen the population here explode in recent years to the point where many people are having trouble finding housing and our infrastructures are not keeping up to the numbers. And they KEEP COMNG. PLEASE EVERYONE STOP COMING TO CANADA!!! ESPECIALLY STOP COMING TO BC! AND THAT INCLUDES ALL THE OTHER CANADIANS WHO KEEP MOVING TO BC. STAY HOME!! While affordability is def an issue there are a number of facts thrown around on this video that are making me question the data points being used. $3k rent sure, if you're downtown Vancouver and live on your own in a newer building with amenities which is what a friend of mine pays in Yaletown. But then I have a friends in KITS paying $1600, Main St $1500, Surrey $1100. There is not 7% of the population emigrating to the US. The rent can't be increased by $7000 as stated by the two girls, it's capped at around 3% annually, so not sure what the real context around that clip is. The girl who took a year to get housing at UBC - presumably she was renting somewhere else in Vancouver, I doubt she was living out of her car . Sounds like this was made with the most sensational examples which really undercts the video because I can't trust the other information about things I don't directly know. Having said that red tape has made building in Vancouver difficult and population growth has put huge pressure on the housing and rental market. Foreign investment purchases of housing has probably driven up the prices more than anything in Vancouver and as stated it has been linked to money laundering from drug money. It's the most expensive city in Canada btw, so while prices are high across the country, Vancouver is the worst of the lot, even worse than Toronto, so hardly an average example to look at.

People in the parlement have a wage over 100k per year to be on a seat, time is money, but they can't focus on their results. They don't need to have results on their decision. They know tomorrow, they will do a second chance and spend time make money.

Everyone is saying it's not their jurisdiction to build houses, but we all know someone has to do it. Selling houses that look like birdhouses for a million dollars and renting them out for 90% of people's income is unsustainable. The Canada we knew is different now. Provincial conservative governments and city mayors are playing politics with people's lives. The federal government should take a more aggressive approach.\n\nAdditionally, houses are being treated like stock market assets, with bidding wars and corporations holding onto properties instead of people living in them. New apartment developments are sitting empty in cities across Canada, being used as assets to trade. Homes should be for living in, not trading. The government needs to look into this issue more closely.

I can tell you one of the major reasons. It is the fact that these immigrants from India do not want to assimilate into Canada. Instead they bring their ways with them into Canada and some of those “ways”, are not acceptable in Canada. One example of that is the whole using the bathroom on the beach. But one that hits hard for me is the insane amount of immigrants that are harvesting spawning salmon with nets, without any of the properly paperwork that is needed to fish salmon with a rod. Using a net is illegal, I know they know it because when I catch them doing this. They become quiet and all of a sudden, after hearing them just speaking English, they pretend they do not know English… I can tell you this is all true. The other thing I have seen with my eyes is shop lifting from the local grocery store. I have never seen that before, not ever in all my years living here. It would be somewhat different if they were stealing essential items and essential foods. But they are not doing that, they are stealing all the luxury items. I am a white Canadian and I am proud of it, but guess what. I am also proud of the fact that I have a doctor that came from India and his family is thriving here. It makes me proud that he chose our country try to come to, with his educational background, it also makes me proud that he and his family have taken the time to try and assimilate into our culture. When I say assimilate by the way, I do not want them or and immigrant to completely abandon their cultures, I just would prefer it if they assimilate to the point where we can have a healthy community instead of all these separate cultural areas in our towns and cities. I love the fact that you spoke some harsh truths here sir, much respect to you and your family sir. I hope you can continue making such informative videos for people to learn from. The other thing I have to add is that the word racism is thrown around too much and too easily in our current woke cultural climate here in Canada and this is just making the immigration issues worse because it produces a culture of fear for those Canadians that would like to help educate those immigrants that need help. But they do not do so because they are afraid of being labeled a racist or some other word and having their livelihoods and overall lives ruined. I am in a position in life where I do not care if people want to say such things about me. I am also well educated and in the position to come up with well articulated arguments in my defence. My main issue with immigration that bothers me more than the rest not only affects us Canadians but also affects the immigrants as well. Ok so before mass immigration was a thing here in Canada our healthcare system that we all used to be extremely proud of the as showing too many cracks and we knew it was falling apart. You think the government would place more funding into the healthcare system. Well that has not happened and if anything they have taken more funds away from our healthcare system than any other time in our country’s history. So before the mass immigration begun we had a major issue with having way too many patients and not enough medical staff to adequately treat everyone in a timely and healthy manner. So now think about that, the healthcare system was already stressed with the current population before mass immigration. How do you think adding waves and waves of more people every year via mass immigration is affecting that system? The answer is this… if the system was stressed beforehand, it is collapsing now. I am one of the lucky few that has a family doctor right now. It takes three months the just for me to see her… If I have an emergency and have to call 911, the ambulance will take me up to the local ER and then I will be wheeled out to the waiting room, which defeats the purpose of me calling 911 for a ambulance. I have waited two days at the local ER just to see a doctor. So here is where it affects the immigrants coming in. If a Canadian that was here before you is already having major issues with the healthcare, then I can only imagine how hard it will be for a new citizen to our country, nuff said really… the local er near me had a person die in the waiting room this past January. Add to this fact that I am actually pretty sick at the moment and so are my parents and you can understand why I am upset about our failing healthcare system. The politicians do not have to worry about our such issues though because they can afford to pay to go outside of Canada and pay cold hard cash for medical treatment. That is why they do not mind removing funds from our healthcare system, it will not affect them and they get to line their pockets with more of our tax money… I honestly place most of the blame for what is going on right now on Trudeau’s government and not the immigrants. The immigrants could help make this crappy situation a lot better for both of our parties though if they tried a little harder to adapt to our ways of life here. When in Canada try to live like a Canadian, I do not think that is asking much. Again, as for racism, I believe in judging a person by their actions and not by the colour of their skin. Racism is such an antiquated way of thinking… Our skin colours maybe different, just like our cultural backgrounds, but after all is said and done we are all members of the human race. There is one other reason that hatred towards member of your country is going up and it is simply because our hatred for our own government is so high right now and we are all only human. Some of us lash out at people that do not deserve it when we are really upset. That doesn’t make it ok. But I know that the fact that we Canadians hate our government more than ever right now, is due to the simple fact that our own government is not listening to our issues and what we want done with our country. Then that same government will labels us as right wing extremists simply for the fact that we no longer support our current government for example. Canadians are more angry now than they have ever been. The RCMP have been advised about this across the whole of Canada, so you know it is a real issue. I can control myself and will never snap at others due to how frustrated I am, so I would like to apologize to those of you that may have a bad experience with another frustrated Canadian. Yoy know What I'm indian and was planning to Move to canada but when I saw too many Indians there then will never go ?

YGood day. For from context I'll reveal a little about me. I am around 27% Indian, 34% northern African people which is around 61% combined. My other ancestry includes Wales, Sweden, Norway Scottish and Irish, Hebrew/ jew as in from 12 tribes of Israel, However, the world calls me black Jamaican born. I live in small town with population under 41,000 people in northern Ontario Canada for past 21 years. I remember when I came here with company contracted to build and say very few black people mostly French African and some mixed black with some Chinese probably total under 20 people other than white or indigenous peoples. Over the years was steady increase of black, Chinese, Philippino, and my Indian doctor and his family to maybe total around 50 none white none indigenous peoples. Just before pandemic we had a large number of Indian students which was awesome to see considering my heritage as my grandmother on dad side was Indian. But a year before pandemic we noticed many started working in convenient stores and fast food places like most high school students do to save for college/university which was becoming a problem for Canadian students as some employers got incentives or cheaper labour to maximize profits. As pandemic rolled in so it seems more Indian students from other regions in Canada. So, Canada, Ontario, and small town I reside already had huge housing problems as some homes we even to be condemned and indigenous homeless from north increased crime rates and now we had students living beyond building code occupancy with shared living causing rentals to shoot up in prices as landlords became greedy and selfish. This small town of under 41,000 is by some estimates over 55,000 by increasing Indian students who for past 5 years fighting to get permanent residents even though they came as students which proves the goal was always invasion and coming as students was the ticket. If you and rest of new immigrants don't see the problem yet, I'll continue. 95% of taxis have Indian drivers, 98% food and other delivery Indian, 90%+ convenience and groceries, clothing and all stores 90%+ , vehicles on roads 70% Indian, my son barely got into college with 90%+ Indian population in college and his class is 2 white students, himself only mixed , and 2 Africans and 22 Indian students who cheats on a regular basis but professor afraid to confront as they are quick to call racism. But even bigger for me is these Indian students/new immigrants have no respect for the history of Canada and USA not knowing how indigenous peoples were raped tortured and murdered to take over this country and then enslaved African people to build this country while they raped tortured treat less than animals and still suffering with fighting for equal rights for over 400yrs while still being racially profiled and beaten and murdered by police officers because of this colonizers system. Now you come here and benefits from black and indigenous peoples struggles and claiming rights when you have not been fighting the battles with us or for us. Also, the criminal aspects of your community is not being taked about as well which includes extortion to businesses owned by Indians, car thefts, drug trafficking, human trafficking and other criminal activities. There's so much more than just saying you feel unloved by the people you're taking things from for their children and grandchildren and generations without showing any respect as that is defined as selfish. You and many new immigrants forget this is not India and expect everyone to bow to you and that is what we are against. i Have some awesome friends that are new immigrants and are respectful and want to learn about history and current events and impacts they have and how to reprove Canada not destroy Canada

My life is good enough but I'm older than you and was able to buy a house, etc... My kids on the other hand.... I worry for them. Both of them just got their EU citizenship, but I'm not sure if Europe is any better (I don't know yet). I'm anxious to see where you end up. \n\nSidenote, my mother's side is Ukrainian and settled in east rural Saskatchewan in the early 1900s. Ukrainians are the most hospitable and wonderful people, and growing up, when I would go visit them, it was almost as if I was in Ukraine, not Canada. The language, the food, etc... it was wild and I never appreciated it for what it was until I was much older.
