Anyone confused about why a lot of international students are working all mainstream retail face to face jobs?

I met too many international students and most them they were studying on line!!! so they are not need to came to Canada, but the reason is they came for work. Each one has two jobs !!! So the reason coming for work and save money not for study and at the end after graduation they stay in Canada and never come back home.

Why Indians ?... Making the rest of international students look bad

Canada needs to be careful. India is obviously broken in terms of population. Allowing a mass migration to Canada is just going to break our country. Housing market already shows how quickly they're messing with the status quo.\n\nCampuses should have onsite student housing. If there's not enough room for international students in their own housing, no international students.

It's easy to point the hate at the international students, but this situation didn't arise all of a sudden and was definitely not caused only by these students.\n\nProvincial govt policies made and allowed the diploma mills to recruit these students en masse at 4-5 times the fee.\nFederal govt departments issued their visas allowing them to fly here.\nWe promised these students a path to PR/Citizenship, our colleges took their money, and our businesses used their labour.\n\nThe situation is dire indeed, but it's a failure of policymakers, not these students.\n\nIt's unfair to first let people in with promises, then break those promises, and then hate the people when they're protesting.

It's about money.. International students are profitable

Canadian education system is trap for international students and its good for nothing. Did you check how good and refine US education system is? \n\nBest bet: deport them and refund their fees. Coz those 1st floor colleges diplomas are good for nothing. Most or these colleges students are either trucker or fast food restaurants servers. \n\nYou never raised a voice whenCanadian govt charge them 4 times what you think domestic ppl had paid.

International student program was a disaster to start with.\nFunny thing is Indians like myself were opposing this program. \nAnother part of this disaster is that 90 percent of these students are from only 1 province in India.\nSend them back.\nThis immigration has damaged the social thread of canada.

International students were sold a false bill of goods. They were scammed by “immigration consultants” in India who promised them that the students won’t have a problem finding a job or housing and that they would get\n\na proper education. Hopefully the real truth is now out and their numbers will slowly be reduced in time.

Deport them I am a Canadian Citizen been living here since a Kid but these International Students are getting their PR and jobs very easily.

What is happening is all the new immigants international students are taking all the jobs from the canadians in poor situationlike the construccion jobs. So all tge international students not really cames to studing they came to get a job and later apply for a permanent resident in the same construccion companny. So is no more jobs for the canadkans poor whi no jobs is not food and not housing for them. Because they are taking the shelters hlysi g and a food banks to. So the poor canadaians are been put them away to get sick suffer been displaced form the new international students fakes. ??.

Why only indians in college? It wasn't before 2019 such and slowly international students are mostly them. There should be from everywhere

They got taken for a ride but that's the way it goes sometimes. After the tech boom Trudeau kicked the doors open and charged these students an arm and a leg in international student fees. The tech industry crashed and now they gotta go.The Canadian labor pool is oversaturated. Warning to anyone seeking a career in tech: proceed with caution, the industry's a fucking shit show.

why invite international students if you don't want them live here

Repulsive is not the word. \nLies, international students do have to go through stringent criminal records check. \nHow about you ask the government to help out universities so that they don’t have to depend on international students. Being an Indian immigrant myself (now a citizen), this is absurd. There's rules to follow. There's 3 problems as I see:\n1) The structure of the Canadian economy - heavily dependent on services, natural resources and real estate. Due to this Education has become a business. Colleges, Universities & Diploma Mills are more than happy to admit international students who pay 3 times the normal fees. \n2) Lack of a screening process - not taking in immigrants based on skill and education.\n3) Taking in too many immigrants from 1 ethnicity & region - the Indian state of Punjab, a region suffering from drug epidemic, alcoholism and crime. Not sure why you'd want low quality immigrants. If you notice all the protestors here are Punjabis. Canadian immigration is business in Punjab. Many immigration consultants here in Canada are Punjabis and have business links back home.

Bro, you should be on the Government's back for bringing in International students and workers when the Government should be trying to hire from within the country...the entire program is an agenda by the government to grab money from foreigners and create chaos in the long run. Now that these folks are trapped, we should help them, and stop foreigners from coming to Canada in the future from this vicious cycle. This is a trap, and it is by design. I am for bringing in foreigners if there is a demand for certain jobs, however this is a trap. The government is playing with them like toys.

So governments want all the international student's money and change rules later?

The majority of the problem is by the government, they want to earn money from International students who pay almost 5 times the fees compared with local students. They also want more cheaper labour here and fill the labour shortage. But they didn't calculated how many students they can accept and how it gonna impact the locals. Overall, the colleges, real estate, and banks they are the winners.

I talked with my Indian friend who is working at Tim’s now. I said,” I'm not an Indian international student, do I have the chance to work in your branch”? He said no! I understand that they want to help their people overseas, but it also breaks the diversity as well. You go to Walmart, Tims most of them are Indians. I told him even though the Chinese supermarket and the restaurant hired Indians, I had never seen any Indians hire Chinese in here. I don't want to say this is discrimination, It is just about order and fairness.

I’m an international student from China and I never worked here. My Indian classmates ruined our final project. Wearing slippers for presentations and even cannot finish a simple website, my roommates are Indians as well, and they are all good. But some students they’re not come here to study, just for work. But just keeping the balance between study and work, will make other students have bad experiences. I also want to get the PR here, but it depends on my abilities and other factors. I love country music, K-pop, and pop Jazz, I watched a documentary about Canada before I came, and I was a volunteer at the London Air Show, Comic Con, Food Bank and Ronald Macdonald House. In addition, I also help the Church group make posters and videos. You come here is to integrate local culture and accept the rules and order, you can keep your own identity a features. Don’t forget you are a foreigner, you are the guest now.

They don’t represent the skilled international students who are an asset to this Country. Canada should ignore these baseless protests and investigate the student visas issued since Covid

Sorry, my parents immigrated to Canada in the 80s from communist Poland and they never received a penny of assistance from the government or taxpayer. Immigrants are supposed to come with a skill set they can sustain themselves from. The explosion of international students and low-skilled immigrants has damaged the economy and taken away jobs from young Canadians just entering the job market

Sheridan College management visits India to promote Sheridan College, to bring International students here desperately. I strongly recommend to cut the funding for Sheridan College. Sheridan College management, Union and Unionized Employees are all part of this. Sheridan College only cared about their own profit and greed. In fact, I believe Sheridan College's Brampton Campus should be shut down. That will save Canadian Tax Payers money. I encourage anyone to visit Sheridan College Brampton Campus. Look at what a mess it has become. Sheridan College has professors who don't know anything about the courses they're teaching. All the Unionized Employees and Management care about their pay cheques. Most programs at this campus are useless. This campus and most other colleges in Ontario are such a huge waste of Tax payers money. This campus looks like a Punjab College in India. It doesn't even look like a Canadian College.

Send them home now! There used to be a lot of summer jobs available to young high school students, but now it's becoming difficult for them to apply because of the overwhelming number of these international students.

Canada has no obligations to this international students instead Canadian citizens should be prioritized by government for jobs that's the right way because Canadians are taxpayers.?

Thank God someone cover this thing. I am Indian Sikh moved here with my parents in 2021 and we are permanent Resident. I am disable so my parents thought it would be a great country in terms of opportunities but you know what I have not get any job because wherever I went for interview, there are so many international students looking for job as well. \nBring a citizen, it’s very heartbreaking that other who don’t have PR , still getting jobs.

I'm an international student form Nicaragua, and I'm doing my best to contribute to this country since day 1. And I'm looking to stay in this country not to take advantage of anything, but to contribute and give way more than I have received here. It's just not fair that we are being affected by Indians, the government should apply measures according to each situation from each country of origin. Indians are the abusers of the system, not us that we are the real minority here trying to earn our place here but just our pure honest effort.

Somehow international students and workers get the idea that as soon as their foot touches the 'magic dirt' that is Canadian soil, they assume all the rights and privileges of full Canadian citizens. Wrong! They are guests. It makes me crazy to hear Justin repeating everything Pierre has been saying for months. Immigration is causing issues with so many International students coming to Canada which is more than Canada can absorb. Justin hasn't thought of any ideas and uses what Pierre has been saying for months now. If you can work out the immigration numbers coming into Canada and the possibility of building homes and how fast. They said Canada would have to build a home every minute to build homes to fix the number of people in Canada now through immigration.

International students have no rights

Who said they don't want to go home? Canada invites international students with a promise to give them PR if they can finish school and qualify using one of the programs. I know because that's how I came to Canada. Unlike the US where it's hard to stay and you need a marriage, in Canada you can use a qualifying job. Usually people sponsored by family to get PR, as well as refugees, are put ahead of international students as well as those on work permits. \n\nIn the meantime, International students over-pay into post secondary, as well as working off campus and paying taxes, but are always last in line when it comes to being granted PR. The rules change so much so fast, it's easy to find yourself out of time and kicked out of the country. \n\nSo whoever watches this will be happy that International students are getting kicked out, but the problem with too much immigration won't be solved because the country is still taking in so many refugees. Right now it's international students getting the axe and are the scape goats in ths game. \n\nAlso, the reason why Canada takes in more immigrants beyond the obvious, is because they want to eventually do away with property rights. So while people can cheer kicking out international students, it doesn't prevent the inevitable from happening, because the politicians took in too many new people.. \n\nAnyway, good luck to everyone, from either side of this debate, it's bad news all around wharever the final outcome.

International students are tourist and all normal countries

They are not Canadian citizen's, what entitlement. Our country should not allow other countries people to come to Canada for school then think they can just stay. All international student's should have to go back to their countries by law. If they want to apply from their own countries go ahead as they then will have to have back ground checks like any other person who wants to come to Canada.

Agree that international students should leave but what’s your priority? Would you rather have refugees from Islamic countries who are Islamists and extremists or highly qualified international students?

In Ontario, these types of jobs are normally given to Canadian high school or University students. Now these Canadians will be left competing with International students.

I was an international Student....15 years ago. I paid about 30k in tuition A YEAR.. I was NOT allowed to work off campus, i was allowed to work ON campus for a maximum of 10 hours A WEEK...in order for me to maintain my Visa status i had to maintain a GPA over 3.5 AND i had to be enrolled in an accredited institution. Our international student department had a quota of how many students they could recruit from every country... Rent was affordable, jobs were aplenty and when it came time for an Internship companies would come do hiring fairs and fight to get students to want to work for them. Now they get about 60k applicants a year that are willing to work for free and taking away from actual citizens.\nAfter 8 years of working and grinding and stressing i earned the right to get a Permanent residence...i had to commit 3 years out of 5 to stay here and work here and pay taxes for me to become a Canadian ...it was the proudest day of my life. I was filled with a sense of achievement that has been shat on by these students. \nIf you or anyone would actually like to talk about how it should be feel free to reach out.\nI will tell you this for free...if a Canadian Citizen did this in my country .. they'd be on the first flight home.

The PEI international students are not Canadian citizens, are not covered by our Charter o of Rights, do not have a right to protest, and do not q qualify for any notifications regarding the change to laws and rules. We can't afford h the jobs non Canadians are taking
