One of the many ironies is that his use of tariffs dooms Americans to paying ever increasing costs for everything they need or want. Just think of bananas which are one of the least costly fruits that poorer families may be able to afford and can be consumed by infants to the elderly with some kind of nutritional value. Thanks to the Gutless Orange Fool, even bananas are more expensive. But don't worry, the top 10% of Americans have 60% of all wealth so, they can have all the bananas they desire!

It would have been good for a few people to see how tariffs actually work. Most Americans don't seem to understand how inflation works though, so it is no great surprise.

It sounds like tariffs are being used to fit his pocketbook (Trump's) and not the average consumer who will be paying sticker shock prices for coffee, tea and other foods.

More higher prices for US consumers. They and US importers are going to be filling up the US treasury pretty quickly as Trump keeps imposing more and more tariffs. For these slow people, let me explain how this works: tariffs work as a tax on poor people. First time in the White House, Trump put a 25% tariff on China goods. Dollar Tree, which imports from china usually to sell everything for a dollar had to pay 25 cents on a dollar in taxes to collect the goods from the ports. So it passed that tax to the prices. So went from everything $1 to everything $1.25. a 25% percent inflation. Then China stopped buying soybeans from USA. Farmers went broke and Trump have to give them 29 billion in handouts so they won’t go broke. Genius?

So if the c-17's are 3 times the cost of civilian airliners, just send them back on civilian airliners, what's the problem there? Seems an easy fix and I as a tax payer don't want to pay 3 times more when it can be done cheaper. I Thought Trump was a businessman and knew about economics? I guess he's not interested in keeping it cheaper for us citizens. Furthermore if he tariffs China we are all in big trouble.

This is so stupid, if trump’s solution to international affairs is to imposed tariffs on the countries who don’t bend to his will, most countries will be smart and form an alliance to just cut the u.s. out and spread the wealth within that alliance. The Colombian president was claiming that migrants are welcome back as long as they are not treated as criminals since they are not criminals. Entering the US illegally is a civil offense like passing red light but not a criminal offense under US law. So then he said he could send his own plane and make sure that those people are not handcuffed and treated with dignity in their arrival, since Trump was treating them as criminals. It is not like some here are saying that the tariff threat caused him to back off, it was just a point of being treated fairly since they are not criminals.

It's not surprising that Trump doesn't want his grades from Wharton School of Business released because he was at the bottom of his class and he is a multiple times failed businessman who has had everything in his life handed to him on a silver platter. Trump doesn't understand the basic fact that tariffs are passed on to consumers and INCREASE prices, NOT decrease them.

This is going to be fun: ~25% of crops may be lost due to migrants staying home instead of risking getting caught in the fields, another chunk of crops in California may be lost to contamination by the giant battery fire from two weeks ago, and Felon Trump is slapping tariffs on a bunch of countries the USA will need to offset that food production deficit.

Trump is going to impoverish the USA with all these tariffs. The US citizen just won't want to pay the prices that are now being asked for imported goods that cannot be purchased from local sources. Tariffs are a two way street, and Americans will suffer higher prices on things like coffee that we import from Colombia. Trump being a bully is going to be very costly.
