During past 18 years I have travelled lots in various countries and seen so many settled people who are origin from respective country or are settled from ages . But you also note that thay had gone through with same as beginner going through, or might b lot . I like your post, and doesn't notice any ego or proud in that . I like that . But what I mean to say is everyone from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka or Bangladesh , before come in English country or in any country, are starting very big dreams and after step into new country they don't accept positive things and blames only those countries where thay have gone for higher education or for earning money. Still they stay there and says here is blot like india , dongle come here , or we have to do this type of job .They don't have servants there, they have to wash their clothes themselves, cook themselves and clean house themselves . That's why thay are saying bad words for that country and still they want path of permanent residence of that country. I am not against of india but if you are staying in English country for 6 months, I request you please make video for how government works for their people, how smooth you can run your business without giving bribe to government officers , how police officers are doing their job and how pure is system . And please all these compare in India and suggest life is easy there or not . I love my country and during my 18 years in UK , I came back to India with my family to settle down the rest life but because of some government officers ( on each step asking bribe for business) , and not getting support from government, decided to go back to UK .I mean to say in English country there is value for poor person or for rich person. In india government hospital are free but look how they treat the patient. Please compair each sector and make video. If you do this would be very grateful. As a Mexican American I have faced all types of racism from people of different races, including my own. I lived in Mexico for a while when I was young and would get bullied by kids who knew I was born in the U.S. Teachers also treated me different; some treated me worse than they treated the other kids, and others favored me because I was American. When I moved to Philadelphia I attended a school that was predominantly black and asian. I was the only hispanic in my class. At the time Spanish was my main language and my English was “rusty,” which led to constant bullying from classmates. They would call me “dookie face,” tell me to “go back to my country,” and even had some girls put gum on my hair. I would cry every day. I later on moved to Chicago to an area that was mostly hispanic, and that didn’t stop the bullying, either. After I finally refined my English, I no longer wanted to speak Spanish unless it was to my parents. Yes, I guess the constant bullying pushed me to feel like I had to separate myself from my hispanic heritage. When my hispanic classmates spoke to me in Spanish I only responded in English, which would make them mad and they would think that I thought I was “better than them.” Anyway, that was long ago and now as an adult I can reflect on these things so that I don’t make the same mistakes. I get along with everyone and the only thing that changes how I feel about someone is their character, not their appearance.

Why don't all the nations like US and Canada try to help fix what is happening from the places these people are fleeing, especially if they are murder capitals? They can recruit these migrants to form coalitions to rebuild their nation. What if they are really are going to suffer there, without outside intervention, by being recruited, instead, into gangs or be killed or raped? If we send troops to the middle east for our vested interest, then don't we also have at least some vested interest to send troops in Honduras and El Salvador? We can prevent the entire population from migrating, prevent people from being exploited and hurt while traveling or living illegally and the taxpayers and citizens won't have to pay for court costs, education, healthcare and welfare. There are plenty of things our nation can do to uplift our own destitute and out of luck an alone citizens...with that money. With the money now saved, it can be diverted to cover the costs of our troops, counselors, educators in those nations. Then it is possible and foreseeable to reunite all the undocumented immigrants back to their now safer home countries. I understand why they flee and also understand why the US and Canada cannot absorb these large population of people, and they have the right to determine who is invited in, so....why can't there be more permanent solutions? Is there a hidden path for drugs, money, prostitution that is being quietly supported? Are certain businesses lobbying in the millions and billions to get cheap labor? Is that why this problem is not finally being solved but kept alive for so many years? There are basic solutions that have not been tried in earnest. You cannot just bring everyone in and you cannot just turn your face to the problems these undocumented people face... I feel like much is not being discussed about this situation....Something else is going on that they are not covering...

I'm a US expat living in China. In china, you cannot get a green card. I leave every 60 days because I can only stay for up to 60 days, just to turn around and come right back that same day. Once i'm back in China, I need to register my address with the police, and update my resident card. To get a 60 day business visa here, I had to get a Chinese company send me an invite, then need it to get approved. The process was expensive. But I follow Chinese law, and respect it with everything that I am. This is China and this is there laws. So who is VICE to make a victim out of this person? Just a crock of shit. This guy can go to many many countries around the world. India, Indonesia, even China but from the looks of it, this guy could not handle China. We were not born with any clothes or phones or guns or any freaking borders. Yet I read these comments and watch in shear amazement at how everyday people pickup the mantle of these god awful politicians. They argue how these people or that people should be sent back a few hundred miles this way or that way. Truth is, we are unwelcome immigrants in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Venezuela, Libya, and a whole host of countries around the world. Killing people to save them. From what I heard coming from other source .Also when I see them at food banks taking home more than $150.00 in groceries from just 1 food bank they goto 9 amonth .their cell phones are top of the line .Clothes and shoes brand name only .Gold jewllery ladys purses $300.00 and up .And they all have cars from 40 thousand and up . One place i never see them is value village .How do they do iit ?I had 2 kids and on welfare a few years back and I had a hard time trying to get some things that we badly needed and could not afford and things were a lot cheaper .The most I ever spent at no frills been on assistance was $75.00 for the whole month .6 years ago and no cell phone gold. or cars .So how these people do it ?oh and by the way I go ti no frills once a week .Those same refugees are there every thursday spending $500.00. on goceries and none of them work .Some time neighbours talk and thats how things are know .Our government is a big lier .We the tax payers are paying for all of these Once a refugee of this country one canot be sent back or deported so if this refugee never finds a job you the tax payer and I will pay for his or her assistance and maybe for a life time .like in the case of gypsies refugees they are all on assistance go to all the food banks rob the community of their belongins their cars items from stores donations in front of churches and stores they dress the best also spend hundreds of dollars on food they shop for clothes at the mall and we the tax payer brake our backs 6 days a week 10 hours a day like me and I cant afford even half of what these people can .So even if they become criminals we have to support them .Some refugee law and rights should be changed to ensure that tax payers are not been taking advantage of .

Im a Canadian citizen (born in Toronto) who hasn't lived in Canada for over a decade. I left and declared non-resident status. I visit nearly every summer, spending around $8-10k a trip as well as sending money back to support my parents in Ottawa. I get nothing from Canada, and rightly so. I have to purchase my own health insurance when coming back. That's completely okay with me because I haven't paid into the system for over 10 years. How in the hell is someone who hops over the border with no previous ties to Canada entitled to ANYTHING though? They should be shipped back to their country of origin and duties assessed on any imports from that country should be raised to cover those costs or some other method of recouping that money should happen.

I'll lay it out for you: Me: typical middle of the road liberal oriented Canadian. Non white, immigrant (I wasnt born here) I worked in a Refugee housing for over 4 years in Ontario. Most were not war areas refugees (Yes I know there are other types of refugees). I only encountered few refugees from war areas. ONLY 1 person from Iraq, about 2 families were from Afghanistan, 1 couple from Pakistan(I doubt they were real refugees they spoke fluent English, maybe political refugee), and a most from African countries. Its too far for real refugees to get here. Its Easier for them to go to other countries nearby or Europe. MOST SEEM TO BE ECONOMIC REFUGEES. Most were coming from Africa. Some are coming from Latin America, which shouldn't be happening. Once they showed up at our doorstep and we processed them into the system, they were immediately in the same class as a Canadian resident homeless person if they were making a refugee claim. We get money to house and feed them (from the government), and they are given a stipend for basics from the government processed through the Social Assistance/ Welfare system (they get less than a resident/citizen I think.). One person I know at our facility, was given a subsided social housing apartment after a year in our facility. So they went straight from a shelter to a government/city owned subsidized apartment. (Didn't seem like it was a issue for the housing worker...they didn't report it (if they were not the ones that helped the person to get it), they were white, the housed person was Latin. This refugee claimant, and then month or two new Canadian resident person was given an apartment in a prime area of the city, instead of the 1000's of Canadians, those who came before them, and born Canadian citizens on an extremely long waiting list. How this was allowed to happen I don't know. The person was probably sucking on someone's straw. I'm just trying to think the barriers these people have to go through to get a job here. We are far removed from the time of the 80's and 90's., and housing and jobs are so hard to get. I think you probably messed-up your case Jose. You have to give probable causes of danger back in your home country. Its not luck. Its a process. And you can still get humanitarian. Let's put it another way... I was born in Canada and I had moved abroad at 30 for work and was gone for about 10 years. When I got back, it happened to be the same year our PM was waiting at the airport for the arrival of some refugees with winter coats for them and their Medicare cards, as well as housing provided for them. I had to run around for a full month trying to get my drivers license renewed since it had expired, and had to wait a full 6 months to get a probationary Medicare card, p-r-o-b-a-t-i-o-n-a-r-y....I felt outraged. I am not saying that many don't have a valid reason to flee their country, but when they know that they will receive housing and cash, of course people will flock to Canada, even if they aren't fleeing something.
