You can delete my post or you can except the truth.\nI've been too & have friend & colleagues who have migrated to Toronto from Sydney. Toronto is very similar to Sydney. It has some of the most exspensive housing in the world. Canada & Australia's economy is based on economic growth through mass immigration. The cost of this policy, means you also need to restrict development & zoning regulations to artificially keep properties high. Governments need make your population continually, working as slaves, to pay for basic costs, of a largely welfare dependent society. While your a debt slave, you don't spend your money on foreign products, as you have very little in the way of exsports, to pay for imports. The upside to this, you have many slaves to pay for the never ending welfare, as you have a policy of supporting refugees, single parents & the disabled, over self reliance & responsibility. Mental health issues are largly created by society, they are very rarely genetic. The high cost of living, means, you cant afford families. No strong family ties means, poor mental health issues. When you outsource, what familes once did, like help the the elderly, support your unemployed brother & have children. Replace all what families did with government welfare, instead of families helping each other, replace reproduction with mass immigration. You end up creating enormous problems in society. Problems with mental health & crime.\nNow for your modelling career. In Japan, your a novelty, as you have a different look to the Japanese. However in Canada, for your age what are your best features. You only have one. You have very good skin. However your face shape, is slightly disproportionate, basically, meaning your just an average shape face. You could also work on going to the gym, as your not toned. So basically as a whole, for your age group, your slightly above average, say a 6 out of 10, which is not all that good as 60% of Canada's population are overweight. Now as a model, you need to compete with people who are younger & better proportioned 7,8 & 9's. No such thing as a 10.

Toronto has changed for the worse. Look at TTC to start. The infrastructure hasn't gotten any upgrade for more than 2 decades. Actually worse with the Scarborough RT down. I am an immigrant from South Africa here in Edmonton since June of 2023. What the brother is saying is true. Canadians make no room for the human element in the workplace/environment. Everything is based on productivity at the expense of your humanity. They also treat workers as very expendable and disposable. The fact that they import so many foreign workers to do certain jobs is perhaps a reason why born Canadians no longer want to put up with the exploitation (I don't know if this is the true reason though).\n\nCanada is very convenient, and public services and infrastructure are amazing compared with South Africa. But the rest of the culture is very sterile. Tim Hortons, Starbucks, and Ice Hockey are considered cultural identities. Maybe the older generations had a distinctive culture, but most Canadians of today's are only interested in consumerism and the car lifestyle. If you are looking for people with warmth and depth, you will most likely find it with fellow immigrants (and maybe the poor and marginalized communities of Canada).\n\nCanada is a very safe country, and South Africa may not be worth it for me to return to. But the strongest element I thought for coming to Canada was that people here appreciated life and each other. This is not true. Canada is 'stable and happy' because the people are intoxicated by the comfort that material wealth provides the individual (despite all their complaints and problems, most Canadians still lead very comfortable and easy lives). Take away their comfort and materialism, and they won't know who they are. They won't know how to stand together either since they have been so strongly conditioned to live for themselves as individuals.\n\nCanadians are known for their politeness and friendliness, and this is true. But there is a big difference between politeness and kindness (and being genuine). Canadians are not kind.\n\nMy opinion is obviously limited and biased. I am sure there are wonderful and pleasant exceptions. But I will still limit these as exceptions. \n\nThink hard before choosing Canada (and perhaps also the USA). Unless you have a strong community to support you here, it will be a lonely and alienating experience.

Trucking Operators/Restaurants are selling LMIA to totally unqualified people and using this bad moneys towards housing, few times buying 2nd and 3rd houses, very common in businesses operated by people from India/China. Newly popped up colleges are offering totally useless courses to international students and probably funding some money to politicians , so they want Government to still have the barrages open for fresh out of school students and blue colored workers.\n3. These international students are not very qualified at the end of their courses and can only contribute to the economy to some extent , not a very productive and creative talent\n4. Totally unreported/un-taxed rental income is an another factor in bringing up an inflation, some people have more money, then they report.\n5. Governments priority seems to get people with beginner level skills/blue collars/restaurant workers , and not a real talent. They cannot create businesses.

Lol, this man is literally explaining why the African continent is still a hole of a continent. To hell with productivity, efficiency and ingenuity ?.

The economic situation in Canada isn't really well summarized by an 11 minute video generalizing the entire country like this. There are massive regional income and productivity disparities between provinces, with worker productivity, median income, and GDP per capita being highest in the province in Alberta, and lowest the east coast maritime provinces. Quebec being rather poor overall (compared to Ontario), and it's place in the federation is a whole other discussion worthy of an entire video series related to Canadian economic problems. Canada is also not a typical federation; the provinces have a very large degree of autonomy and jurisdiction over affairs within their border than other subnational units in other federations. So yeah, as a Canadian with an academic background in economics and political science, I have to say that this video is a gross oversimplification, just something to note for anyone that may not know much about Canada.

Hahahah! In Canada, they give you a job, they expect you to do your job while you’re on the clock. In Nigeria you are working and having fun. That’s why one country is developed and the other is not. The one has functional institutions, nothing works in the other. It’s no wonder why anyone migrating from a country like Nigeria would have problems initially getting used to a system like Canada or the US where productivity is of the utmost importance. Also the “big man” syndrome often common in most developing countries does not exist in most of these developed nations. It takes some Nigerian professionals a little while to get off the high horse of their “bigmanism” and get used to the near egalitarian state of these societies. Plus, you have to go through a process of licensure before the degrees you brought with you are worth anything. Before then you have to endure with odd jobs and answer to your superiors at work. \n\nIt’s a process, and all those who migrate to Canada and the US have to go through it. The reward? You have the opportunity to give you and your kids a better life.

Because the west has better training standards then other parts of the developing world, where if you have enough money influence you can buy a doctors degree, people in the west are more productive and work harder, they don’t slack off off as much. He is just homesick, the country he Immigrated to has to verify he is up to the countries standards can’t have you operating improperly or misdiagnose patients. Pretty simple really.

Im watching from UK and there is the same feeling about people from africa. They are very slow, they want to take their time. I wouldn’t take this guy’s advice. Dont be discouraged. You have to understand that the reason Canada brings in so many people is to suppress wages and deplete your savings on tuition, housing and food. It hurts both Canadians and newcomers while the large corporate employers, schools and real estate profit immensely. We really do have a rentier style economy where we don't produce many innovative products and instead the top 60 companies (financial services, real estate, telecom, energy, grocery) just extract rents.

That is productivity oriented, and that is whoy their GDP is so high.

The West is about Productivity, the system is designed to extract resources, energy, time and money.

I studied engineering in college. After graduating, I could not find a job in my field. Most products in Canada are imported, thus companies do not bother developing their own tech or spend money on R&D. I ended up giving up, and switching careers.\n\nWe just don’t have much of an entrepreneurial drive here in Canada.

Not having our own Silicon Valley isn't necessarily a bad thing. Silicon Valley has unfortunately grown its own culture bubble with some really bad traits.
