I still remember, I was working in a hotel as a front desk employee,\nFew refugees were staying in a hotel for free, which 1 room costs around $150 per night during 2018.\n\nAfter a few months, they got a home, I personally did shuttle and dropped them off on their new home,\n\nThey had Couches, 3 bedrooms, TV, and microwave all the basic electronics which are needed for a daily basis for free.\n\nAnd again, after 3 or 4 months, I saw him in a parking lot with having BMW owned by him.\n\nI was so disappointed that I was working 16 to 18 hours a day and barely afford to live in sharing places,\n\nAnd these guys never paid taxes, got homes and money from the government. ???

2 Words HOUSING BUBBLE. Remember that for the last 5 years we have been warned that the housing bubble will burst. Well these governments knew this and came up with a plan.\nIf Canada, Australia, UK and USA had not taken almost 10 million migrants the Housing bubble would have burst and property prices would have plunged at least 50% worse than in 2008, banks and major property developers would have collapsed and the building industry would have collapsed. and there could have been an economic collapse. \nSo they flooded our countries with every kind of Migrant, it did not matter, refugees, students, skilled etc. These millions of immigrants have rented rooms, flats, investors rushed in to invest thereby, leading to huge shortage and massive demand, which inflated house prices. Who is to blame? Politicians created the demand, Bankers were ready to lend increasing their assets and bonuses, Investors exploited the situation.

This is Indian foreign officer. India has worst customer service in the world. I love India but the bureaucrats of India are the worst and absolutely corrupt. I remember as a child, my father went to get a visa from the San Francisco Indian Embassy. the guy was coming up with multiple excuses. My dad pulled out a few hundred bucks and it to him and then five minutes later we got the visa. My father told me this is the way India works. You just have to give little bribe and your work will get done promptly.

Here in Toronto you hardly see any white people anymore (exaggerating a bit), yet you complain about racism and also criticize Canada in other areas. How is it even your business? I don't remember ever seeing Canadian TV programs criticizing India. And I have nothing against India and Indians, in fact, they're mostly quite pleasant. But you're taking it a bit far here.

Inviting millions upon millions of immigrants while housing prices go through the roof seems bonkers, but remember who the government prioritizes: asset holders. In other words, wealthy people. People who own multiple properties want to see the value of their properties continue to be pumped up. They don't want the government making housing more plentiful and affordable. And these are people who have far more influence than the average person.

Ugh this is so sad. I was in my mid 20s when I left Canada for the US because the housing situation there was out of control. The park they showed at the 2:44 mark was where I used to live back in 2021 and I remember it was filled with kids playing and people walking their dogs. Now it's a tent encampment for the homeless. Very sad to see the living condition deteriorate there and hoping they can turn it around.

Just remember that immigrants are not your enemies. They want what we all do, a decent life. You should want more immigrants who are quickly naturalized into citizens that can pay their taxes and fund these services. Corporations would rather keep them undocumented though so they can pay them less than you and blame them for all of your economic woes.

Can’t remember the last time I bought something that said made in Canada

The funniest thing I’ve seen in my life was in Ottawa 2018. I unfortunately spent a few months on the streets after a roommate deal went wrong. I remember that an immigrant was looking for directions around the city at the shelter and was in the hallway saying they were lost and scared. Some walked out the door yelling at him walking by “fuck off you freeloader”\n\nI got out of Ontario during the pandemic and it’s still looking like the same circus,Great job Trudy ?

I don't understand how anyone could NOT be worried about children getting shot in schools. Once every 10 years is way too much. Now it happens multiple times a year. You really gotta step back and see just how fucking insane it is. Seriously. You really have become desensitized to it and that will be your downfall. This was basically UNHEARD OF less than 30 years ago. You had the Columbine shooting that really shook things up. I am a old white man born and raised in Canada...our youth born in Canada don't give a crap about us old folks...then these young men and women that come to Canada for a education and residence show up from India...and bang in an instant I am noticed...do you know why because these young adults were raised to respect their elders...they are hard workers (some holding down three part time jobs) they pau their rent...they are polite and smart...with all this said they are also humans who have a limit. If they stay in Canada and contribute to our society here or go back to their own country using what they learned here to better off their communities in India...it doesn't change a thing...because they are so mature and i am proud that they call me a stranger UNCLE and exchange greetings to me all the time. I might not remember how to say their names but i am good with faces and i return the gestures willingly. It is true they have a hard time finding work that fits their educational title but they never give up and will work hard in any field with patience. I understand they are having a hard time but more Canadians should reach out and listen to them...they will teach you too. What a wonderful culture they bring to our country. To all the young Indian (Indus) women and men that come to Canada hold your heads up high and your parents should be proud of you.

Just remember that Trudeau has said, on multiple occasions, that claiming the country is broken is unhelpful and that the country isn't broken. I just remembered this bus driver that gave me his McDonald's breakfast and let me sleep on his bus! Like while he drove it all morning he let me sleep behind him, I'm sorry to anyone who walked past me but I can't thank you enough, I had nothing and no food and was 15 so ❤❤❤

My parents threw me out when i was 15 so in 1998 and i was living in bus shelters in Toronto and under tarps and i was the only person doing it then lol, i remember seeing drug addicts talking to themselves or trying to stab me lol but it was rare like 1 here or there. Anyway i have kids now, am 40, and living a great life, i wish everyone all the best, you can do it! Things will get better even if you can't see how right now ❤

Born here and sadly spent a few years homeless in Toronto after both of my parents died (orphaned) when I was younger. I remember being told I had to be at least 25 years old to get help from Streets to Homes in Toronto and was homeless at 17 with no living parents (orphaned). It wasn't until the beginning of Covid that I moved away and another city helped me get off the street in 4 months. Have my own wonderful place for the past 3 1/2 years.\n\nSo glad I never gave up, and so glad I never started drugs.

The homeless problem has become way worse over the years. Canada has become way too expensive to live with the outrageous prices in rent, heat, hydro, food, property taxes it’s bloody outrageous. Ppl loose their jobs and find they can’t afford to pay their rents and mortgages along with all the other bills if they can’t find another job right away. And companies are to hire minority over white ppl. A white male in Ontario, forget about it. White ppl have become minority now in the work force. Absolutely the cost of living has caused the homeless problem to sky rocket. As far as the system it’s true that the system takes care of foreigners first over Canadians. I remember many years ago I tried to get student assistance to take courses and I was rejected because I lived with a parent, the person on the other end of the phone told me strait out if I was a foreigner I’d of gotten the assistance, and this was way before Trudeau was in the picture!!!

I remember my story at Mumbai Airport in 1998, when the immigration officer was upset , threw my passport and said he won't let let me cross. I had just completed my studies in India, I did not say anything to him , but still he was upset, I was appalled by that uncivil behavior, so I'm not surprised that this uncivil Indian acted this way. You will never come across this in a civilized society. Shameless govt servant.

Unfortunately our fellow citizens will fight tooth and nail because they don’t want to pay taxes . Even those who can afford to pay will fight to be exempted from paying including going to courts just to avoid paying taxes . \nLife in Diaspora may look easy and smooth running to those not living there that is because the mechanism of running the economy is well put in place .\nHowever our people please remember the residents in these countries are actually paying taxes and in turn their government uses this tax money to run the economy . \n\nSo in these countries that we are running to as refugees ?believe you me if you are legitimately employed earning a living and with a paycheck then you automatically become a tax payer as well no body is fighting that . \n\nSo our people let’s stop fighting our own regimes on every policy concerning paying taxes , otherwise we are doomed and will be on exodus status for eternity. I live in Kitchener, just one hour from Toronto. Tent cities are here big time too. No immigrants in them. Like the guest said immigrants FIRST! They are taking our available housing and jobs.
