People have to stop using rental prices in cities like Toronto and Vancouver. That's like Americans using rental costs in Bel-Air California or Manhattan as an example of what rent costs in America. It's not a realistic portrayal of rental costs. \nHere in Quebec the the annual tax rate is between 26.53% and 53.31%, depending on income. Then you have to consider all the socialist programs that you are forced to pay into, which also sucks up a significant amount on your weekly salary. After that, you must consider that you pay 15% sales tax on almost everything. It's safe to say that half of your yearly earnings, give or take, are taken in taxes and socialized programs. As for salaries, less than 20% of the Canadian population make a 6 figure salary. We're not talking about household income. I am talking about individual income. You're not going to become rich here in Canada! The majority of people who do become rich leave Canada to avoid taxation. Canadians live a life of debt. You will live just balancing your debt to make sure it doesn't get out of control Few Canadians have money in savings without debt. The ones who do have money saved, most of them have debts on top of their savings which is counterproductive in my opinion.

If you want to live like that, you have to go back and live in Arab countries and remind you to pray five times a day, but we’re not living in seventh century. I hate to say that I agree with your reasons for leaving Canada. May I suggest to you visiting China for 2 weeks and see if you like moving to that country. If not, you can go to Malaysia.

Unfortunately I was born there and wasted 23 years of my life there...but I made up for it spending the last 24 in Japan. God works in mysterious ways. :D It's just fucked up that I own 13 homes in Japan and even if I sold ALL of them, I could probably barely afford a DUMP in Vancouver...or maybe just an old condo. I like what she says about her grandchildren, in future years, may have to leave wherever they go now… alluding to the possibility (I believe) that perhaps there is no permanently perfect place… I can understand how they would appreciate living somewhere where the daily prayers are announced 5 times daily over loudspeaker. Canada is not one place - 2 nd biggest country in the world in area, with 13 totally different province's, one area code in the GTA has more population then Western Canada, so one cant paint a single brush stroke to talk about Canada. At present time the whole world is going through changes, look at USA - globalization is changing, look at England dropping out of EU. One cant just say Canada like its one place, Quebec, BC and Alberta have nothing in common, three different countries not one. Different issue's , cultures and languages. Even our first Nations have different cultures, the Haida are not the Mohawks. Its the same with each province. Globalization has reached its current course, right now the Chip market is changing, and so is the whole world. Its not just a Canada issue but a global issue

What I have heard about Canadian policies, they are idiotic - to say it nicely. I’m Hispanic and I don’t appreciate this behavior from people coming to this country in this manner. It’s not sustainable and it’s going to throw the country off balance. One of the primary aspects of Toronto that people applaud is the multiculturalism. They say this even whilst shaking their heads in wonder at how rotted the city is at its core. They never make the obvious connection: A citizenry whose heart is lodged elsewhere is never going to build and maintain a high quality life and structure in a place to which they have no fundamental personal commitment. When 'home' is always somewhere else, the citizenry is just going through the motions but not really in for the long run. Often people are working to send money 'home', which is definitely not Toronto.

American expat in Germany here. The tax/salary problem is the same here. \n\nEvery cool place has been overrun with people seeking to move there. I say this as someone doing exactly that, so please don’t think this is “anti immigrant” or anything like that; my spouse is an immigrant. The same thing has happened to cities where everyone from the home country tries to move there from the “uncool” suburbs. \n\nSlowly, then suddenly all at once, the affordable housing vanishes, any government appointment is impossible to get, jobs get scarce, and taxes go up. \n\nBig respect to immigrants, newcomers, and to weary, crowded, overtaxed locals alike. There is just no way to preserve any desirable place when x-million people move there.

I would personally say go to Bursa or Alanya in Turkey. But even The Netherlands might be good transition from Canada. The winter also ain't as cold here as in Canada we also don't have a lot of snow here. You only don't have many locations to hear the Adhan. That’s what I often say… Do you want to live according to your religion? Go to a country that allows you to do so. Non-Muslim countries will not change. There is definitely only one solution: adapt or leave. Muslim countries are the same, you respect them, you leave them.

I came here on 28 August as international student in Vancouver from India and just after 4 days I left canada on 1 sep and came back to india. It's shocking to say within 4 days I returned back, canada is not worth it, people from all world are mixed there it causes problem of fights and #other matters, survival is difficult and cold conditions, that's why population is less there, it is aim of govt that's why attracting migration towards canada but not worth it, we're going there by leaving various things in home country such as home, car, family, nation, property this is foolishness by leaving all utilities of life and to start again from zero in Canada it is big foolishness aslo by leaving nationality, doing struggle of just settling, In my view , we have limited time in life, we're having things and doing hardwork to do those things agin in other nations, its better to do in own country. It doesn't matter opportunites are there in Canada etc, every nation has opportunity, you're from Singapore it's best country do there not leave nation, everyone not have to migrate all have to do in their home countries. In comparison of my country india, canada gone too back from India serioulsly, food is not fresh there freezed fruits same fruits and veges in stores for months, if you like this then reply back I can share my personal and known friends ground REALITY experiences with you..

As someone from the US, here’s what I will say- you can find a small community or a community within a large city that will fit your needs if you look hard enough. HOWEVER, outside of that community, our larger government will never be the right fit for you, for the same reason you’ve “outgrown”Canada. “We” rarely invest in our own country and citizens, and always have “our” hands and money in other country’s affairs where they don’t belong and aren’t welcome. The government is unbelievably corrupt, out of touch, and is more focused on getting one side to hate the other side than actually making “no-brainer” steps that we all agree on to make things better for everyone. If you’re looking for a place to land for a little while I’d say a place with a Muslim community is fine, but long term your money won’t be going to places that aligns with your morals and values.

Big decision to make when you have children but i must say you guys are very brave. Wishing you guys the best of luck wherever you decide to go . I also left Canada and living in Cuba for the past 9 years and these were the reasons i wanted to be in a country that i can be free of debt, cost of living , safe no drugs no guns and almost no crime believe me super happy here living like a king .

While your reasons for moving are very understandable and commendable, I also get a feeling of hopelessness when I hear that western countries are becoming hostile environments for practicing Muslims. I moved to Europe from Pakistan and I am constantly in a conundrum of whether I would want to settle here permanently. On one hand, the cultural differences here means that I will probably always feel like an outsider in this society and will always have to work harder to be able to practice my religion freely and to find a good community around me. On the other hand, because of Pakistan's economic situation, going back means constantly living under the threat of financial insecurity and a plethora of other problems such as a corrupt justice system, a weak passport etc. Not to even take into account that the average Pakistani society is just Muslim by name and not in actual practice. So it feels like there isn't any clear options and you just have to weigh the pros and cons of each situation. But I would warn you that while it's easy to say that you want to live in a Muslim country, the reality is hardly as idyllic. Its easy to play the azan in a mall but it's difficult to create a society that actually adheres to and values Islamic principles, and in Pakistan's case I don't think such a society exists. You would also find that many Muslim countries' leaderships have supported tyrannical regimes and nobody's hands are actually clean. It's a complicated decision but I hope you find a situation that works for your family.

Just remember wherever you guys pick make sure that they speak the same dialect that you do otherwise you're going to have that learning curve of learning their dialects. It is different in a lot of places like learning to speak like the yemeni do is different than the Pakistani. So just keep that in mind. My grandfather is from Yemen and his wife who is my grandmother and my dad's side is from sudan. And they used to tell me it took them a while to understand each other. My Syrian grandmother on my mom's side would teach me words and phrases and my grandpa who was from Yemen would always make fun of me because I wasn't saying stuff right. I'm not really good at speaking Arabic but I can get by so just remember when you guys are picking somewhere to pick a place that won't be that hard to understand people. I'm only saying that because with the kids you guys send the kids to school they may learn a different dialect than what you taught at home and it will be a learning curve for them to try to understand. But I'm sure you guys will make the right decision. I just figured I would throw that in there I'm sure you already know that the dialects are a lot different and Arabic is a lot different in different parts of the world. People think Arabic is all the same and it's really different. Just like people who speak Spanish in South America speak different dialects on the Puerto Ricans just like people in Brazil don't speak Spanish they speak portuguese. Just a thing to think about. Egypt seems to be a pretty good place I have family that live in Egypt and they really liked it but I'm sure you guys will pick a place that's wonderful for your family and I can't wait till you guys know when we can see everything that you guys are doing in your new home Korean and I totally understand I am so upset the United States took the stand that they did with the genocide in Gaza and in the occupied West bank. People don't understand exactly what's going on there they don't know if they're not really up on current events and don't have any people in their family who are from a Muslim country they don't really know what's been going on. It makes perfect sense to want to get away from the things you've mentioned. The world is not the same as it was even 10 years ago. That's the last time I visited home. (Abbotsford, BC) I've lived in the States for many years now and boy was I shocked how things have changed here in Canada. I realize you and your family don't use Bible, but just to give you a biblical perspective on things that very well may parallel scripture from the Quran, at 2 Timothy 3:1-5 it says... 1 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having an appearance of godliness but proving false to its power; and from these turn away. \nYou may be able to get away from the moral decline of where you live now, but honestly, these things are going to be world wide eventually if they aren't already. But there will be a time when God (for me his name is Jehovah), will step in and fix things. In the meantime, It's awesome you are putting your family first. It's sad that that is not the norm anymore.

We are originally from Bulgaria but Turks and came to UK 10 years ago, we just bought our house 3 years ago, basically created everything from scratch. It is bot an easy task to start from the beginning again but I believe that if Allah maid to think about moving that means He will help you.\nAs a hijabi muslim woman in a community that there are not other Muslims around I can say I feel relatively safe BUT some days I notice the look of hatred in n some peoples eyes. The other thing my girl started to question some topics they have been receiving at school and it is a constant battle for me to keep explaining to her the right and wrong. More over she is listening for now but not sure for future and this scares me.\nAs you said praying and being a practicing Muslim is difficult here as well. We are Turks but do not have Turkish nationality but when we go for religious holidays in Istanbul I feel completely different, it just feels like I have to live there near the mosque. My inner me begging me when we are in Istanbul in the old part of the city to stay there forever. \nI really know what you feel and want. I am looking for Muslim countries where possible we can move BUT unfortunately I made the conclusion that there is not a place even in a Muslim land that we can live the way of peaceful practicing and being a Muslim what we want to be. \nJust advise be careful with the Arab world, other than that if you look at Türkiye I would say do your research really well, not in every town there you can live your religion. Azerbaijan is excellent I would say but they are still under the influence of Russia. \nSo really difficult decision, may Allah guide you. Amin
