Who in the right mind would come to Canada to study paying so much money in student tuition and not hope to become a citizen? It’s not their fault that they’ve been scammed out of money and now kicked out of the country because of poor administrative decisions. \n\nDual intent (of studying and wanting to stay) is completely legal and worked for decades. I don’t see any issues here. \n\nInstead of criticizing the actions of the government officials of screwing this up in the first place, it’s a shame to see you demonize the poor international students that have been defrauded in the first place.

Go home international students. Work on making your home country so good that you will never want to come back....because you are creating problems here for native-born Canadians by clogging up our health care system, our schools, our housing, and our national identity. Make India great, so that you don't want to leave. Leave our food banks alone; you were supposed to come here with enough money that we didn't have to support you.

They shouldn't be called immigrants they are international students. And they need to leave the county once their study is done. But how about dont let them in in the first place.

This is not about indian students only. If you people think that we come up from poor families to study abroad then you are truly wrong up in here. We belongs to well renowned family and we do have enough money to buy out things. @True North\nHonest fact: Canada is too generous and fair country. Many people of different backgrounds have exploited our countries relaxed policies, and our politicians have remained oblivious to these facts. \n\nSome of these students claim false refugee status/claims and other pretend to be students, only to expedite and circumvent the regular PR application process. Our country is great, but quality has deteriorated during current leadership. \n\nAll these students should go back home and then apply for WP or PR from home country, as the guidelines use to be. There should be limitation/cap on number of applications of students/ PR from particular country.\n\nAustralia has banned international students' from Indian states: Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Gujrat and Jammu and Kashmir over alleged submission of fraudulent documents and high rate of dropouts. Most of these students make up the majority that are seen on streets protesting now. \n\nOur policy target is to import 1.5 million immigrants in 2 years. Based on survey 25 % are Indians that 375,000 additional Indian nationals over 2 years. If cap is not placed, Canada will lose it diversity. We do need Quality over Quantity.

I am an international student as well and i can totally understand the situation of my community student and it is not just for Indians but for other international students from some other countries are also suffering because of unfair PNP draws. The thing is that only Indian came in-front to raise their voice and media is targeting Indians to leave. This is not fair at all. At least government should provide justice to them, as every international student on work permit are doing hard work to serve the community. Please, do not spread manipulative messages against Indians. Thanks

They come here under the guise of being international students and faking their finance documents so when they come to Canada they steal food from food banks meant for Canadians. That’s what’s wrong. Too many of these people who are defrauding the country.

The food court in our mall is 90% staffed with international students and don’t even get me started on Walmart

International students is another way to bypass our immigration laws as weak as they are and jump to the front of the line ahead of those people who filled out all the forms got all the health tests paid all the fees and wait years to come to Canada legally. The word is out come here as an international student then get your Class A license begin working as a truck driver and apply for landed immigrant. I have had more than one close call with transports on the highway and am never surprised when I see who is driving.

Please walk out and right to the nearest point of entry. Rules are rules your time is up. According to liberals parents don’t have rights in this country so international students shouldn’t either.

I totally agree that immigration has been uncontrolled lately, a pause is necessary and students should leave once their work permit expires, but the point is if Canada wants to release the burden off economy, they should first deport/stop refugees and stop sending billion dollar aid to Ukraine. International students boost the economy by bringing foreign investment, paying taxes and not put burden if done in a controlled way. Refugees(not all) who take advantage of the benefits, funding wars eat up the tax payers money. What kind of quality students you are bringing that is another story.

Lets be real. Canada wouldn't get a single international student unless they gave PR as a bait. No reasonable person would choose Canada over USA other than easy PR.

A big portion of the employment industry is suffering because of international students. Canadians need to be able to find work.

We heard an international student, working in a part time job say “I know my rights!” What rights does he think he has? Who told him this?

As a Canadian past middle age with health issues, I lost couple of my jobs to these younger international students with fake papers during & after Covid as the employers know they can just pay them minimum wage for a heavy equipment operator job. Now going back to a service industry as my health issues dictate & doctor’s’ orders I now have to slow down what was decade & half ago the wage was substantial to live on is now below it’s just minimum wage because employers now can get away to just hire these students at minimum, with most of them came here under false pretence as students but in reality take jobs & decent lives from hardworking tax paying Canadians, I know we’re immigrants here too, if you’re not native then you’re an immigrant eh, but these people are swindlers undermining our very lives.

Maybe we should force draft the international students for 2 years. Our army needs recruits

Remember The protest, which was called the Freedom Convoy, that many Canadians were a part of and look at the reputations many of them endured because they stood up for what they believed in. Now international students protest across Canada because they want to stay once their student visa expires, and they have a chance to be granted their demands; I don't see our PM threatening to freeze their bank accounts. I just don't get it.

I especially like having to train international students that do not care about the job, barely speak english, and know they are moving on. So I end up doing all the work, as they do their homework on they're lap top computers.

You cant just blame federal or JT for this issue. Provisional governments are equally responsible as well. They allowed mass international students due to their (provincial) going down economy for various factors. They made false promises to students that students can get PRI in less than a year, otherwise do you think students were willing to go to these cold areas to study without any benefits? You made a promise, now its time to fulfill.\n2. International students funds the college/school by paying fee 3 times more than a Canadian one. There was no check and balance from provincial governments on school/colleges, because they liked the inflow of $$$ within their provinces.\n3. Totally agree with you that fake students should not be getting any merci. But are all the fake students from India, not really. Both the federal and provincial governments were allowing more Indian students because they wanted to have more economic ties with Indian growing economy. \n4. Punjabi (including Sikhs) is one of the best marshal races to serve in army or security agencies. Our Canadian officials never hire personals without a proper security check. \n5. 99% of indian international students come to work in canada and not to study.

I have been an international student myself and I think that Canadian government and institutions must focus on bringing people with particular skillsets that is required in the economy. Anything apart from that is a burden to both the individuals and the citizens. It's sad to think that the government and educational institutions called in students over the past few years just for the money(tuitions).

It is hard for high school students to get a job. Everywhere you go, majority of odd jobs are filled with indian international students.\nIt is time for them to leave the country.

Canada is a life hack for migrants. the government hasn't built enough housing or infrastructure for the 2 million people they let in in the past few years. any more than 250,000 new people a year is too much for our system to handle. the international students are a scam for mass immigration to grow Canada's tax base as fast as possible, to keep wages low for big corporations, collect tax revenue from people who don't know what Canada was like ten years ago.

I not going to blame the international students at all but 100% blame JT and his incompetent Liberals ministers for creating this mess in Canada.

I lost very good friends over the years because they were not able to secure work visas after working, but its fair. Canada's system and social welfare has to be protected, Canadian jobs have to be protected and prioritized for Canadians first. No international student has a right to stay or live here past their studies. They can come back when they secure a work permit.

We can’t even find a job. They are taking our jobs. They don’t even qualify for some high paying jobs and no idea how they got those jobs. When I went to a job interview and the funny thing was I saw bunch of international students were going to every company and knocking the doors and asking jobs. This is ridiculous!

I think the main objective of “international student “ program is being ignored and lost here. The objective of bringing “international students” to a country is for them to study and after they finish their studies to go back to their country. Isn’t that the case? Absolutely, there should be no other expectations.Then why are they even entertaining this nonsense. Unless they want to use the “International student” program as a backdoor to enter and work in Canada, and it looks like that’s the case. They finished their “studies” they need to go back to their home country.

So basically international students wants Canadian citizens to pay for Indian immigrants' cost of living and subsidized housing. Also, Indian students want to own a house in Canada in a Tim Horton employee salary?

This is a Trudeau government mess that the Liberal/NDP coalition created and they are now furiously backpedaling.\n\nShame on them and the harm they are creating for raising unrealistic expectations of international students.\n\nMany of these students families have invested large amounts of money and incurred financial hardships in order to send a family member abroad to study.\n\nOne must count the cost on all fronts as a government before implementing an open door policy of this kind.\n\nIndia Canada diplomatic relations are already on a wobbly footing. I thought everyone is leaving Canada voluntarily, I read so many news about how those international students complaining our government didn’t take good care of them, why don’t they leave Canada if they are not happy with Canada.

Hey True North - You got some great points and I partially agree, but why dont you make a report on refugees who are are increasing at rapid pace and as matter of fact Refugees get more benefits from the tax payers money than the international students. I dare you make a video on the Refugees. I feel that Students are easy target and you know that. I really dare you making a report on the segment as well.

This is a joke..Theses students are not Canada citizens this is crazy and Canada is being taking advantage of...This wouldn't even happen in their country we would be jaile or throne out...Whst a waist of tax payers money...Oyr own Canada citizens are homeless and rents have sky rocket yet thses international students thinks they have more rights not...Time to go back ...
