This needs to stop altogether. Immigration is NOT an economic plan and as such has worn quite thin. It has become so difficult to own and run a business (at least in Ontario) and probably the rest of the country due to taxation and added things like carbon tax which has never been explained in a meaningful way. There is also an issue of interprovincial consortiums buying up franchises in bulk and hiring only foreign nationals to work there. These politicians are in denial and have no stake in this which is why it seems like a viable solution. Some of them are also landlords and involved in the secondary mortgage market with investment funds, all the while making policy to keep working people and the middle class off the property ladder. You can’t get approved for a 2000 dollar a month mortgage but you sure can rent one of their properties through a buying consortium for 3500 dollars a month. It is obscene the grift that has taken place and all the while they have had a hand in fomenting a purchasing frenzy for homes which drives their property values / investments through the roof, sometimes to the tune of 10x what they paid for them. It is corrupt and if anyone thinks that 25million dollar Pollievre is going to be different then think again…..it will be a repeat of Stephen Harper only worse (he is pulling the strings for Pollievre.

We have enough unemployed able body people that can do these jobs plus our own students. Those on social assistance receive monies but in many cases do zero to deserve it. These folks can and should be put to work no questions asked. This would include refugees and asylum seekers.

Love immigration but hate tax funded Temp workers . Bad deal for Temp workers and very bad deal for Canada. Young people , seniors who needs a few hours to make ends meet, people living outside cities, adults returning to work , uneducated but hard working folks , disabled people and others are unable to find work . In the old days people would worry about jobs being outsourced overseas and now the work still being outsourced to Temp workers . This in turn ,is worsening the homeless problems throughout Canada. There is no such thing as jobs that Canadian people ( young and old )will not do and its not true that there is not enough workers ( skilled or otherwise) in Canada . The Canadian government needs to work for its people and not use failed economic models that increase profit for companies. All sectors should have restricts not just a few .

To limit it should not be a thing there are more homeless work less people then ever because Trudeau fast track all those people into the country and gave them housing and jobs and money that could have taken care of the homeless now it's quadrupled.

I think the Turk is being a bit unreasonable. I am a Nigerian living in the USA, and work with people all over the world. Unfortunately, the nature of the dominant culture you are living or working in is that you will have to make concessions, not the other way round. It's unreasonable to expect that brits in the UK will speak Italian to you because you are Italian.

The problem is not legal immigration. People who come to Canada legally have the means to pay rent because they have work and some even buy properties. THE PROBLEM IS ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION!

People are tribal; this is why multiculturalism will never work unless the cultures are already very similar.

Many people now just wait until they get their passport or PR and then immediately leave the country. In my personal circle even I have so many friends from university and work who as soon as they got their citizenship or PR they used it as a way to move to a different country.

I'm in Southern California. Several years ago our neighbor down the street got new renter,'s, they looked great on paper. As soon as the landlord handed over the keys, the nightmare began. Four adults who were not even on lease moved in, they had visitor's at all hours of the day, never paid a penny in rent, it took one year to get them out. House was totally thrashed. Owner lost rent money, in addition lost $30K to have repairs made. These scammers who play the system have no SOUL, zero morals. It's such a shame the laws are made to protect the SCUM of the earth who do this all their life to honest hard working people

18 years working and living, on and off, in most German big cities...i can safely say Germans are among the nicest people in Europe..as long as you are not an unruly clown wanting to force your way on them..... don't expect Germans to hug your at first sight , prove that you trust worthy, behave yourself , be respectful to rules, be kind, ...you get so much in return,

Talking about my trade, aviation., it is really huge in germany, but..with 50% tax on your income..and the german security clearance which is absolute bureaucratic nightmare to get..and it's only one among Others..i gave up .., going to more straight forwards neighboring countries...\nTalking about German people.. there are the one in Europe i enjoyed the most working with.. because they have the best compromise between discipline, ethics, and laid-back Attitude..\nPeople commenting, complaining about lack of English speakers in administration...come on !! this Germany ,you have to speak German..you are the guest not the host.

I feel bad for those who were duped into coming here to Canada. They had big dreams of becoming successful here, instead not being able to do that and being forced to live in cramped accommodations. I work in healthcare, and a lot of people who work in the facility in which I'm employed were brought here from the Philippines and India, mostly. Some were hired directly by this employer, while others came here some other way. Those with professions like being an RN were under the impression that it wouldn't take that long or be that difficult to get their Canadian certification to work as RNs here. Instead, they found out that the process for that here in Canada is a lot tougher and takes a lot longer than they'd been led to believe. So many are left not being able to use their education to its fullest, instead working as care aides until they can get the proper certification. I know that this has also happened with doctors and engineers and to many in other professions for which they went to school for years. It's a real shame.\n\nThis massive influx of people coming from other countries, though, has been really tough on those of us who were already living here. It's been way too many people, and we just weren't prepared. It's been one of the biggest factors in the huge increase of cost of living and, of course, it's by far the reason we have an enormous housing shortage.\n\nI'm not completely anti-immigration, but I think that it needs to be stopped, at least for a while. Let us deal with what's going on now instead of bringing in more people that would only help to make things worse, through no fault of their own. There's no reason that we need to have more people coming here right now. We have way more than enough people here right now.

I feel seen and heard after watching this video. Honestly, now I just want to move to the Netherlands ?\n What bothers me the most the lack of incentive to learn the language and the simultaneous judgement from people when you don't know the language. I'm disappointed by all those other problems that were pointed out but the language barrier is the biggest hurdle for me. I work for a multinational company, which means English is the language of choice there, and learning German means dedicating a lot of extra time to it, which I don't always have. \n\nExpats are expected to insert themselves in the culture, not be welcomed into it. And it's not just learning German, it's also not forgetting what you learned. You need to make extra effort to keep yourself in contact with the language and that is a bit tough as well. Do I watch Stromberg or The Office?

I came to Canada in 2020. I studied for 3 years in London, Ontario, and moved to Toronto 6 months ago to work. My opinion is that the city of Toronto is deeply ill and something is definitely wrong. I live and work Downtown, and have to pay 2650 CAD/month to live in 400 sq ft inside a condo. There are no trees/wild animals within many square kilometers of my house, but there are a lot of homeless people and dangerous drug addicts. I learned the hard way that living in Toronto and visiting Toronto as a tourist are totally different things. I hope to be able to leave the city as soon as possible, and possibly get back to London.

They need skilled immigration and they take unskilled immigration, which instead of adding to the budget will draw from it. Where is the sense and logic in that? For many years, Germany drained Poland and other post-communist countries of skilled workers, then the difference in the standard of living between the West and the East of Europe was huge, today it has decreased to the point that people prefer to live with dignity among their own people. Now Poland has become a country accepting immigrants from the East, the language is similar so it is easy to learn, the culture is similar, the standard of living is good and the streets are safe. Germany is no longer as attractive to skilled workers as it used to be, the cost of living is high and you can get stabbed in the liver on your way to work.

To all people here that object to Germany not making everything English-speaking.\n\nIn my experience working with a large German corporation, when in a remote meeting of 200+ people a handful of people say they prefer the meeting to be held in English, it’s going to be in English, even if it means that the speakers will automatically dumb down the content by 80%, have problems with vocabulary, and struggle to get across the finer details. The documentation for IT stuff will be written in approximate English to please the 3-5% readers who just wanted to earn a higher wage for a few years, but not commit to the culture of their host country.\n\nIf both sides speak only a second language and not their mother tongue, what are the chances of ever feeling like you really understand the other? It’s like shaking hands wearing gloves. If you come to Germany or any other non English speaking country, and feel at home there, commit. Learn the language. Embrace the cultural differences. I have worked in Australia, Europe - UK and Germany before moving to the US for my master's degree and worked there for many years. Then moved to India and then to Canada. If you are a tech worker, there is no country in the world more accepting than the United States. Period. \nIn US, people respect your talent than what ethnic background or linguistic background you have. People are more tolerant and accepting, and even let you go up the ladder. Thats why many Indian CEO are leaving US companies while Americans don't mind. \nEuropeans and Australians are the most racist people I have encountered, who have little to no empathy even towards highly skilled workers paying heavy tax in their county. \nIt is better to work for your whole life in the United States on work visa, than living in Australia/Europe/Canada as their citizens.

I work in small towns across Canada and over the years, I’ve seen these charming towns, such as a Yellowknife, Whitehorse, Meadow Lake Saskatchewan, turn into Punjab . And sadly as much as the Punjabi culture is fascinating, Punjabi people do not have Canadian ways, nor are they skilled in our national languages, which makes it very difficult for Canadians to interact with them, or get served by them at the service jobs. Just ordering a coffee at Tim Hortons. It has become stressful. Nine out of 10 times I’ll get the order wrong because of language barriers. I am all for multiculturalism, but there is no more Canadian identity left in Canada.

I am from India and been living in Canada for 18 years. I am living here with my family and I am so grateful to this country and respect the country and the freedom I have. The thing is homelessness is a fact that is coming from the most broken families. And here cannabis legal. I could see most white peoples don’t want to go to work, even there is enough work for them. And as a country to grow, they need youngsters for the workforce, but unfortunately Canadians people don’t have enough kids to support the country. And the kids are grown from the broken families maybe ending up in the streets. Indians are most of them only marry once and keep their marriage life till the end. So many divorce can ruin the life too. So the students coming here in Canada, how they get visa, Government don’t know that. We can’t blame them, because this is the offer they get from here. \nBut even though I am from India, I have enough from Indian people here in Canada. I always questioned the people from India either you guys respect the culture here or please go back. The reason I love Canada is Canadians are so pleasant and so helpful. Hindus wanted to bring their religion here, Muslims wanted to bring their religion, buddhists wanted their religion here. My US work permit got approved yesterday! Ive lived in Canada for 29 years but it started going steeply downhill around 2018 and the 2 years of covid were rough. I miss it a lot but the costs and constant fear of getting my house and car broken into, as well as watching my tax dollars go down the drain has been tough. Also I feel like people are hustling so hard they’re not as happy. It makes me sad as well

The Canadian people are being replaced. The immigrating people are provided for better than Canadian citizens. Housing and work is being given to immigrating people rather than citizens.

There is a great deal of reverse immigration now. My nephew works at the Toronto airport and they find discarded permanent resident cards in the trash cans as the people leave the country. Yes, that is how bad it is.

two reasons why no demographic problem: 1) AI and robotics.. in the next 20 years human labour will be drastically reduced and people will be working 2-3 day weeks or just paid national basic income to do nothing 2) massive advances are happening in anti age drugs.. experiments done on mice using same pathway that exists in humans shows that this intervention given at 55 will expand youth-span by 25% of a lifespan. Who told you that they need skilled immigrants? Opposite, they want low educated people who would accept to do hardest works with low salary and wouldn't complain about their work and life conditions.

Please Don’t blame Indian people, blame Canada’s government. Indian people come with Education and money. Yes we have our own culture and own language but we also like Canadian people and their culture. Canadian government wants more money and that’s why they are inviting more n more students from world and mostly come from India and there is nothing wrong with that. All Indians come here in Canada as a true immigrant. Why you are not talking about so many refugees, who come to Canada with no education no money and they are burden on government. Compare to refugees, Indians work hard, get education here, pay fees in colleges, earn work permit and then pass English exam and then get PR and then citizenship. Indians work hard and earn PR and citizenship here in Canada but what about refugees and asylum seekers. They fucking don’t do anything and they fucking easily get PR citizenship. It's really difficult to understand the bureaucracy.\n\nBureaucracy:\nIt took me 9 months to get a working permit.\nFor a renewal, I had to make an appointment to have an appointment... The last time they offered me an appointment after 1.5 years.\n\nYou don't get a right answer from the people who works there. Your life depends on those people.\n\nAs an expat who lives 3.5 years in Germany, I still don't have an German bank account which is not online. Basically, they don't open the account or giving an appointment to over 1 months or etc. \n\nBut this bureaucracy is for all. Germans also have the same issue.\n\nHousing is also an issue. I tried to apply the same places by my name and a German name. It was possible to get an appointment by a German name :) \nBut I do understand them that they find Germans of course more trustworthy.\n\nCulture:\nI don't think many people are racist here. I even live in Mecklenburg Vorpommern. They were mostly nice to me. However, the city you live change a lot. Hamburg is one of the best city about welcoming expats. People are nice and kind. Never had an issue here.

This is the problem with Canada and most of the West these days. Work some kind of BS job(web entrepreneur etc) and doesn't really contribute to the country like by raising a nuclear family. It's the aftermath of feminism. They just end up traveling the world figuring out themselves instead of really building their own country. The money that you pay in taxes has really no value. It's the kids that you could bear that would. That's the modern woman too.\n\nSo yeah governments try to solve this problem, which doesn't happen only in Canada but more across the West), by outsourcing its young people to third world countries like India. But that just compounds the problem because there are just more people, and more old people with time who aren't working.

Why would I support international students if I can't even support my family? You don't have money for tuition and for food, dont come to Canada. Do your research and dont burden an already stressed society. Everybody is struggling. People in Canada also have dreams and have to do hard work. Canadians are also poor and have dreams.

A more interesting and fair report would have interviewed the people living in working class areas in the host countries in the EU who are seeing the safety of their communities change drastically as a consequence of this illegal immigration which is supposedly meant to prop their economy up.

It's too expensive to live in Canada as an entrepreneur with unstable income and it's actually better to work remotely in a cheaper country, even if it's less stable. \n\nAs a few other comments have noted, many issues North America has developed are global issues. Many people don't realize many of the issues are from Central Banks lowering interest rates to zero or negative all to back stop aging demographics. This has been the trend for 30+ years if you check charts of interest rates and government bonds.

Your votes are important people! Choose a responsible gov't. Not one so willing to throw money around to those who dont work for it and print more and allow things to fall apart right before their eyes. I'm sad for Canada, this once great nation is in a state I never thought I'd see. I too am ready to move elsewhere. Family is holding me here, for now.

There was an incident were a cricket match was going to be shown in the mega plex put they did not show it something happened that was not mega plexes fault that it was not being shown there was a group of Indian students who started screaming at the ticket counter. The 2022 -2023 batch on international students are a disgrace not saying g all of them are bad just most dont come to study just a back door into the country they see one of there family members went to Canada and they should to ?‍♀️. Sounds like Germany is about to break down. If there's not enough of anything then it means there are too many people and not enough proper systems to work with. \nThey seem to mot be providing enough for the current population nor has a heart for it.

The problem with Germany is that every employee is taxed from the revenue /tax board. So the employers have to pay 25% on Top of the salary to the revenue board whereas the employee also pays tax on his salary. This leads employers to feel they are paying a lot for the service and the employees to feel that they are not getting enough in hand as net income. Both become unsatisfied. On the top, this money is used to support the social system where it is very easy to get to. So the people who are not willing to work sneak into the social support and are getting supported by the high taxes which the employees and the employers are paying. Unless this disparity is avoided and social reform is brought in, this dissatisfaction will continue and Germany will never get enough workers.
