Why in god’s name would I go to a country that’s freezing, that’s tax heavy, that has a serious homeless/drug issue? To be poor?

Imma be honest I’m not surprised u moved to Canada Asians for the most part are always unaware about what goes on with the economies of the world unless u get your information from the news??.I mean seriously people it’s time to wake up in 2024 of course Canada isn’t a great country it hasn’t been in over 40 years same as my home country here in the USA where more Asians and Indians and Mexicans keep coming here but they will also learn the hard way about America ??.And don’t worry about it what they saying in the news it’s all garbage ?️ the problems in America and Canada including the u.k are server understated part of this is because these are developed countries with everything being so developed why would there be any problems I have talked to many Asians from Thailand and the Philippines ??.They literally told me they see USA as paradise like what the hell honestly because we have streets and expressways everywhere that’s exactly the problem and no agriculture no farming all warehouses and big retailers and no small businesses.All government shitty jobs paying average money we have some of the dirtiest and worst public transportation in the world it is so slow with constant delays and only go through major cities they will never fully extend it out into other areas.Condemning walking and by cycling is freaking insane to me making things more spread out instead of walkable.Allowing the cost of living and inflation to go up while keeping wages the same so your own citizens will get priced out of their own economy to allow foreigners to come in so u can get away with paying them less way to go America,Canada and the u.k.And don’t get me started with all of this dam regulations and laws being made surrounding everything my good ness man I’m so glad I’m leaving America all of these western countries are a hot piece of garbage.

I know a lot of people who are going back now. People who came with a PR and have an average yearly income of 190000 cad. \n\nIndia is growing at a higher rate than Canada. Standard of live used to be better in Canada but now with high cost of living, that is changing. Medical facilities are in doldrums in which India excels. I am 66 , I had to take my ill wife to emergency at the Peterborough hospital about 3 months ago. After sitting for 2.5 hours in an over crowded emergency room, I asked how much longer before we see a doctor. We were told by a nurse it would be another few hours at least and it could be up to 5 more hours after that to see the specialist she needed. So the wait could be 10.5 hours, we waited 2 more hours, then we got up and left. If we ever go back it will be in an ambulance. But to be honest We are done with this broken, rotting health care system. I blame the bum that has destroyed this country and destroyed the Canadian health care system.

Canadians don't like the US' expensive healthcare or the gun violence, and Britain is a sh*tshow with property prices that would make the average Canadian's eyes water and the highest rates of inflation in the G7. I was born and raised here. I am doing my exit plan as I cannot afford to live here as young-adult living on my own. The government knew exactly what they were doing when they allowed 9 million people to come here in a short amount of time. How can you provide billions for foreign aid but can't provide basic necessities to your own citizens? I have cut EVERYTHING extra out of my life and even while working a full-time job I cannot survive in my own country. Canada is a country for the elite, cliche style immigrants, and for the ultra wealthy who pass down intergeneration wealth. A failed health care system that provides little to no services at which you pay out of pocket to get access with private health care providers. You can't depend on transit as it is the mercy of the corrupt transportation/commissioners aka unions and the cost of gas is out of this world. I AM SO LUCKY I went to university and graduated when I did because the same degree would have cost 15k-20k more...food is super expensive...renting an apartment is seen as a form of luxury....you have to know someone to get basic things done. What a shameful society...a society that treats immigrants with upmost respect only to turn around looking the other way when it comes to homelessness...the housing crises...lack of employment oppts, gosh I can go on. My brother was lucky enough to move to Dubai and cash in on his savings by investing it into his properties where he pays 0 tax on his salary from his job.

Why would people go where there is no safe of life. The standard of life. Where there is no jobs. Prices are getting high up for everything.

Born and day raised here. Immigration is out of control as is all all the social services, bailouts, and specials needs funding. Rhis created a huge debt to income defeciet that anyone with any brains could see coming a mile away. We are also forcing ourselves out of any useful manufacturing and were fooled by the government that mass immigration would solve all the problems. It did the opposite. It was great 30 years ago. Still, I don't know where you could go that is better. Racism was almost gone and the complainers brought it back by wanting to be more than equal.

This is missing SOOOO much of the actual story of what is going on over here. There is a lot of corruption in our housing market fueled by faked incomes just for starters. That's not including the massive supply and demand crunch we are facing on multiple fronts from having too much people suddenly, to having not enough housing suddenly. For those curious, you can find some CBC marketplace videos that cover some of this from a couple years back. The banks have been caught f'ing around as well, what with pushing through mortgage requests that should never have been allowed to occur; and that's just what we know about. \n\nNo offense to anyone in this video, or anyone else like them. We know that a good large chunk of most of you are not at fault here with what's going on. But there are some people from all sorts who are all doing their own dirty little deeds, and they are culminating into the gigantic pile of BS that the rest of us now get to deal with. \n\nAnd make no mistake, what I am saying is not even close to the full extent of the BS going on. This is just one facet of it. There still is the universities mentioned that we need to talk about, whom have been fleecing internationals for years now. Or our employers who have gotten real used to having access to basically almost slave labor by comparison the wages and employees they would have to normally deal with. \n\nAnd again, none of this is being said to blame those who come here looking for a better life. Why would they want to go to Canada. When they've got to apply. Americans southern border is wide open and a free for all those entering illegally. Plus you get a free life as an illegal migrant in the United States. Free housing, free medical, free food, free cellphone, free clothes, free childcare, free transportation. I really feel for students who are scammed. But being an international students myself, and as a young adult, I did my research on the rent, job market, living costs of the city I was going to: Vancouver. I knew it wasnt gonna be easy from the get go, I struggled but dedicated to school and to my part time job. My personal experience was that most of these students do not focus on their assignments and rely on others to do their part. It was 10x more stressful and, sadly, my strategy to survive (and my friends’) school was to avoid doing school projects with students from one particular country. And worst yet, professors would turn a blind eye to this systemic situation cause I guess everyone was paying their tuition fees.

I don't even know what to think as an open work permit holder. Where I was from, 2 years ago, i sent like 20 job applications, went to 5 interviews and got 2 offers. Took me 2 months but that was it.\n\nNow I'm starting my 4th month in toronto and sent more than a hundred applications, and I've not even gotten a single interview. I had naively assumed that having a certified native-level proficiency in English would ease things up a little, but i just feel completely ignored in this city. Might have to cut losses and just go somewhere else. Rent is insane.

As an American I would NEVER want to live in Canada. Their salaries are much lower than an American salary and they have much higher taxes. As a huge hockey fan, you almost never see an American hockey player go to a Canadian team as a free agent because of the crazy taxes.

I'm so glad to finally see people talking about this issue. I'm originally from Africa, but I was raised in the US, so spent most of my life in the country (35+ yrs). And, I felt this deep loneliness even as a child. I would cry whenever we went back home to visit and it was time to go back to the US, and I would be really depressed for quite a while after getting back to the US. I never felt that life was normal, and everytime we met a new immigrant, I remember thinking to myself, even as a child or teenager that they just don't know the trap they are getting themselves into. Kudos to you for speaking up about this.

I'm from India and was in Indianapolis on work for one month. I thought i'll go nuts from the sheer lack of human contact. Practically nobody to talk to, the roads are empty, the streets are empty. If you start a random conversation with a guy in the street, he totally freaks out. Maybe it's different in other places but man it was very very depressing and i just couldn't wait to fly back. Of course, i love American people and they are very warm if you know them from before but strangers exchanging pleasantries, that is absent. It would be nice to just see people on the streets but no. Not sure how the kids keep themselves entertained

Problem is Americans have gone to soft go back in time and nothing going on today would be going on without the American people gathering together and putting a stop to it now all we can do is fuss about who's fault it is and try to make new laws for things we already have laws in place for try forcing your way into the countries these people come from and i can promise you that you will either find yourself in some horrible jail cell or dead or both

Who on Earth would want to live here? We are such a depressing and failing culture and society. We have placed ourselves in a situation where nothing properly can grow here. Canada will get far more depressing over the next decades. I tell people all the time don't come here, you'll pay more than money for coming here. And I tell people, who are able, to leave. Find a better place to call home. Canada can't be home to people. Not with how we are easily dislodged, displaced and how everything around us is on fire and burning down. \n\nDon't come to Canada unless you're suicidal and want to die, or you happen to be super rich and you can make it. \n\nCanada will be losing many many Canadians in the future. Whether it's people leaving the country, whether it's people returning to their old countries, or whether it's people killing themselves off desperately trying to find solutions to problems. \n\nPlease don't come here people. \n\nCanada is a horrible place to live. And if I could leave here, I would. But alas I'm a very poor Canadian. So that leaves me with options of suicide later in life, at least Canada is getting programs together for that and the options become more accessible every passing year. Its now impossible for a low to moderate income person to buy anything. The price of everything just keeps going up up up. Rent in this small town was 400/500 a month in 2015, that same place today runs 2 thousand,and for the first time ever I see, people living on the streets. The reason so many on the streets? Minimum wage 17.45 an hour, rent 2 thousand, do the math, do you want shelter or do you want to eat? We have the government thinking that the average wage is 70 thousand a year. How do they come up with that number, if you add the billionaires and millionaires to the equation the average worker looks to be better off. I would not recommend anyone to come to Canada.
