As someone born and raised in Toronto I have seen the massive delcine, problem is most big cities are getting worse, when they finally let me leave Canada for being unclean at the end of 2022 someone who travelled a lot before the pandemic, I have noticed many cites in the US and Europe have became much more violent, tent cities and much more expensive, so more of a global problem.

In 2021, I embarked on a life-changing journey with a dream to move to Canada through the Express Entry program. It was a decision that filled me with both excitement and trepidation. The prospect of a new beginning in a foreign land beckoned, and I was determined to make it a reality. The process started with rigorous research and countless sleepless nights. I gathered all the necessary documents, completed language proficiency tests, and meticulously calculated my Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. My aim was to secure a coveted Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.\nAs the year progressed, I faced moments of doubt and frustration. The pandemic had disrupted immigration processes, and the Express Entry draws became highly competitive.\nHowever, just as I was reaching the final stages of the process, something very negative and unexpected turn of events occurred in my life. My dreams were put on hold once more, and uncertainty loomed on the horizon. Although I faced setbacks and delays, I learned that it’s life and things happen for better or worse…. We just need to accept it and continue working towards our lives …. Be it in Canada or Elsewhere…!!!??? Opportunity will come but the only thing is if we are willing to grab it….!!! Acceptance is the key.

Mujhe to in logon ki baat bahut hi Ajeeb lagi hai kyonki main jab 2012 men Sydney aya to maine 4 jagah job apply aur charon jagah se job offer hua tha. Koi bhi problem, as such, nahin hue. Haan eknbaatbzaroor thi ki ghar milana asaan nahin hota. Magar ek realtor se contact kiya to bahut asani se mil gayaa.\n\nI think it boils down to how good you are with planning and communication skills.\n\nOne more thing, I had PR for both Canada and Australia from day one and we finally settled down in Melbourne. We did not do the common mistake of coming as students.\n\nTo conclude, I am 100% convinced that Melbourne, Australia is anytime a better choice than Canada.\n\nOne more thing, I do have a full time permanent govt job here in Melbourne. \n\nOnce again, I don't see any problem here in Australia. Wow, I finally hear someone saying that Vancouver is ugly. I thought I was the only one. I’m from Europe so it was super obvious to me that there is no comparison with European cities and I always cringe when I hear that Vancouver is one of the most beautiful cities. It’s literally just the surrounding that is beautiful, not the city. Having said that, I disagree that this is common with all North American cities. Even with my European eyes, I adore the older North American architecture. I think architecture in Chicago is great. San Francisco is beautiful (without the homeless), so to me Vancouver is ugly even in the context of North America. Most of downtown Vancouver has either new boring glass condos or the older ones that look like buildings from communist era in Eastern Europe. And I became really upset about that because this beautiful spot on the west coast deserved beautiful city, it should have been Canadian San Francisco. Original in its own way, but beautiful. But it’s really not. I’m sure it was way more interesting city 50 years ago. I saw old photos and it had some character.

Canada is nothing but a frozen hell on earth. Very hard to find a job even if you studied and graduated from a Canadian uni, Low wages that don't match with the expensive accommodation, Awful weather, Quality of life is zero, And finally it's not really safe like how people think it's you would see crimes occrue during the day time not just in the evening. \nBasically you cannot find anything to credit this country for.

I am from Cameroon, I am an assistant télécommunications engineer since 2016. I had the grace to be recruited by the end of my final year by a foreign company BUT, they are using holes in our labor law in Cameroon. The fact is for 6 years now, I am a temporary worker with monthly renewable contracts even though I am working at the same position for 6 years . The irony being, I barely make 500 usd per month, no salary increase for 5 years and with my wife and kid we can just afford to live day by days. No way for me to save some money. I made the maths: even if I work as a janitor in Canada, I can at least same some money for my child future. I am planning to move to Canada. It will always be better than the Bullshit I am through in my own country

You ignored a major reason of the severe housing crisis. Chinese citizens buy up huge amounts of, specifically condos. And then they lay empty, because the condo is an investment, and if someone lives in it, they could damage it, lowering the value. These condos are then sold to other chinese citizens, each time they are sold the price goes up. When someone finally re-enters the market the asking price is far above the actual worth because the condo has been traded around to make sure everyone makes a profit. In BC, to try to fight there there is both an empty home tax and a foreign buyer tax. Meanwhile new high end condos continue to get built which are simply bought up by Chinese owners. I know a building manager in Vancouver, who showed me just how empty her building actually is.\n\nAnd for anyone who thinks I'm being racist by targeting Chinese citizens. Ask yourself why would real estate agencies have billboards entirely in Mandarin. Why do real estate websites have devoted sections entirely in Mandarin, but not one for French, an actual official language.

America has plenty of room for all the people who are trying to enter this country. Most of this land is land banked by the wealthy. Those of you who have bought into the bullshit of the wealthy and the elite think there’s not enough housing, in fact there’s more than enough housing. Most of the housing that you don’t think it’s available is boarded up, or underutilized . Finally, please note that the individuals trying to enter the country from the southern border are the descendants of the original habits of turtle Island, .Clearly, we all understand that the thief always has better security than the person they stole from.

Aside from what was said (making more money), other reasons why many immigrants would fight tooth and nail to get U.S. citizenship are the fact that the U.S. has a bigger and wealthier population, which translates to American companies getting more investment money. And in turn, are alot more willing to invest more of that money into their employers. Other underlying reasons include an overall warmer climate, rich pay less taxes, and the fact that an immigrant finally obtaining U.S. citizenship is considered a status symbol. \n\nAnd there are other reasons why Canada government is far more immigrant friendly. The government wants to increase their country's population to at least 100 million, and that isn't possible with Canada being one of the numerous countries experiencing a decline in baby's being born. And the new immigrants are to hopefully prevent the time in the future when Canada has too many old people, but not enough caretakers and young people to tax.

This is why I'm very adamant on my dreams to work in the US. I'm a US citizen because I was born there when my dad went to school for his doctorate degree. I feel very lucky to have that, and that is why I have a dream to live and work there. I know applying for a residence and work permit is a very difficult process to do. I would feel very stupid not to take this chance to live and work in the US.\nAfter a few setbacks of me not being able to go to college there (my parents wouldn't let me because they're not sure of letting me living alone there even though we have a relative there), my parents finally let me go there for work. I just now finished my masters degree, I hope I can make it there as well.
