The Inmigrants leaving are most likely skilled Inmigrants compared to the new asylum seekers arriving in Canada without any skills. This means in the future we will have lots of people with no skills getting free money from the government making the economy slow down and costing more money for the tax payers . This is an issue to be addressed soon as we can see what’s happening in the US. \nMoreover Looking for a job in Canada as a skilled and educated immigrant is a hard task . You have to downgrade your education and skills to be suitable for the jobs . I got a masters degree and I had to removed from my curriculum in order to be considered for the job and not be overqualified. This is a common thing for skilled Inmigrants. This tells you a lot that being a skilled immigrant is not well recognized here in Canada

I met some of these people in Thailand after COVID. There was a small group of Chinese who kept to themselves at our hostel. One day I overheard them in Chinese repeatedly talking about my country Mexico which got me to talk with them. They were quite happy to learn I could speak Chinese but more excited to learn I was from Mexico. They started asking me a bunch of questions about crossing the border into the US to which I bluntly told them I had no idea about and discouraged it. I asked where they got these crazy ideas from and they said that people were posting videos and tutorials of how to cross into the US online. The Chinese government hard handed approach to COVID was what made them leave. They wanted to go both for the freedom and economic benefits but they had a very naive and overly optimistic view of the US. They saw the high wages US workers were making but had no idea as to the incredibly high living costs associated with living there. I tried explaining that there was a housing shortage and that their expectations for life in the US would set them for disappointment but they either didn't believe me or brushed off my criticism. I also tried encouraging them to go to German or Australia instead (places which I feel would be better and easier for them to enter) but they seemed dead set on just going to the US. Unfortunately I don't know where they are now as Wechat is blindly and constantly blocking and deleting accounts in SE Asia without reason......................

Canada by itself is very WELCOMING, the problem is that you dive into the trap, there only ONE way to do this right, GIVE TO ALL IMMIGRANTS TIME BUFFER, like 1-2 year, don't destroy them from the start, it`s like I call friends to my home, I will say hey please feel free like in your house, but then ill throw them dirt to a face and ask them hey please be clean in my house go find place where to wash up and don't use my towel. Time that migrants spend to find JOB and HOME are exceed TIME they can afford living, it means LOW CREDIT SCORE, DEBT Problems, bad mood, anxiety, no hope, and boom you have more homeless guys. You haven't mentioned enormous bureaucratic apparatus of the government which costs a lot to run being extremely inefficient at the same time. Canadian immigration program is just a cheap labor scam and Ponzie scheme. My wife works in retail. Earns minimum wage plus commission from sales. She made almost 25% less in 2023 compared to 2022. If adjusted for inflation that would be closer to 30%. My salary was ok in 2018 but became stagnant. Both incomes combined barely make us through the month. The fact that I have to work two weeks in a month just to pay rent is very depressing. Having lived in Canada for almost 6 years I seriously regret decision to move here.

We had to move out from Brampton bc it become terrible place to live. 3000 sq ft beautiful homes in nice subdivision. House next to us, 4 families in one house crowded like rats. Indian music playing laud in garage on Sundays. About 15 kids seating on top of 6 ft fence staring in our backyard. Couldn’t enjoy life anymore. Crime start to spike. Today people blame on Liberals, however that was during Conservative government of Brian Mulroney. Those immigrants destroy city. I hope they all leave Canada.

As a Canadian, I love immigration. As a renter though, our government failed us so hard. They defunded our housing in hopes that the private market would pick up the slack. It didn't, then because of our economy/demographics are we had to massively increase immigration. It broke a system that was already crumbling. Now a whole generation of people will never be able to afford to buy their own home many of us can't even afford the rent. Is it that surprising the majority of our legislators are landlords?

We allowed cowards for politicians and the LGBTQ rights lobbyists to separate us from Jesus who is God and then from our prosperity because the Word of God condemns them together. Canada is a veritable hellhole with no future. Do not come here without millions of dollars or be prepared to lose everything you brought with you from your native country.

The US cant continue to support this mass migration due to financial unsustainability and at the expense of Americans who are struggling and need support. Its outrageous that we have homeless populations ,vets and working Americans , families who cant afford housing not getting the help they need because resources are being diverted to support illegal migrants. Canada doesn’t have the infrastructure to support immigration at the scale it wants. It’s not just housing. It’s hospitals, schools, gov’t service centres—not only is everything expensive, it’s inefficient too. I genuinely feel bad for the immigrants coming here based on the Canadian governments empty promises and being left with nothing like the rest of us. I don’t know how Canada can fix this but if this keeps getting any worse the country is just going to fall apart at the seams.

The real problem is Canadian and Provincial governments obsession with taxation rather than investment. All governments all have a spending problem too. \n\nTax our income, tax our after tax dollar that we buy stuff with, tax the stuff we transport goods with, tax the land we live on with after tax dollars, oh yea and let’s tax the money the government rebates us cause that makes sense.

No surprise there, \n\nCanada is NOT attractive to migrants anymore due to multiple reasons.\n\nSoon a 1 bedroom apartment will probably cost 5000$/month for rent in the Major Cities making it impossible to settle here for newcomers.\n\nThe healthcare system has serious problems due to a lack of Doctors and Nurses who left for better paying jobs in US or Europe.\n\nIf you need immediate Specialist care you will probably have to pay hundreds of dollars just to see someone in the Private sector because the Public Health System has huge waiting lists and is understaffed.\n\nYou won’t be able to get a Government Family Doctor because the remaining ones have thousands of patients already so they’re swamped.\n\nYou can wait even 10 years for a Family Doctor and still won’t get one.\n\nYou can’t be bumped up on waiting lists for Doctors or Specialists even if you are in a critical condition because you aren’t a Celebrity / Politician / Millionaire.\n\nOnly those with a lot of money, status, power get immediate medical attention in case of an emergency.\n\nMost of the traditional medical costs like and eye exam, treating an ingrown toe nail, Physiatrie treatment are NOT covered by the Provinces anymore so you will have to pay out of pocket hundreds of dollars again.\n\nSome Provinces are already copying the US healthcare system which is 100% Private and for profit so don’t be surprised if you you’re gonna have to pay even for an infusion.\n\nThe minimum wage is only 15$/hour in most provinces when in reality you need at least 40$/hour to survive the ridiculous cost of living.\n\nYour typical salary will go 45% to taxes and 45% to rent leaving almost nothing for food / bills / gas / insurance etc. \n\nYou will struggle to make ends meet and possibly starve a week or two every month just to say that you’re “Canadian” \n\nThat is the sad reality but Canada is in a deep hole right now.\n\nUK is in a similar situation too.

I hope they pass the word around so we get fewer illegals and economic migrants. Canada has to get its house in order for its own people not for all the people coming without being properly vetted according to our “not so good” immigration Law. Our country has many serious problems to address and fix i.e., health care, military funding, police funding, housing, affordable food. We need our borders strengthened and we need a government that puts the citizens first, not a government leader who with his every off the wall action makes us look an easy touch for the criminal element roaming the world. An excellent example of that is the horror story that is New York City.

Native born, raised, and educated in Canada. I left Canada 25 years ago, first to the US briefly then to China and now living in Vietnam. No regrets. Best decision I ever made. Get out while you can.\n\nI would not recommend Canada to anyone. The Trudeau government has made things so much worse.

Re Indian students as a former teacher I have to also say that many Indian students coning here are lacking the basics. I also found that students educated in US states like Florida and Texas were around two grades behind. Many Indian studenrs here have high expectations but poor background and inadequate English language skills. It is a shame that people are getting into Canada with false documentation and credentials. Also they are enrolling in very dubious schools and it is no surprise that they find life here very difficult. Hopefully the Canadian government will take greater care to see that only suitable candidates are allowed to come to Canada as students. Also students from other countries should avoid coming here if they don't really have sufficient skills and should make sure that they are choosing reputable educational institutions. There are lots of private institutions with fancy names. Don't be fooled.

Again I never heard of the solution DORMSSSSSS! Canada dont need too many small colleges, just few in strategic areas where everyone will have access. These schools, they can accept international student but!!! They should have capacity to accommodate like having a dorrrmmmmm for the school. Im mad about this bc in SKorea, where I exchage, they have dorms, here in Canada, you have to find it yourself. We also get our food in the cafeteria which is healthier and have mang options. That 2 alone are solutions itself. I feel badly for immigrants that have come here to make a better life, being very disappointed with the reality of life in Canada with its high inflation, high taxes, high crime rates, a compromised judicial system and poor healthcare. Many of us that were born and raised here are also looking to leave. As a landlord, here's the difference between international students and migrants: One has money and pays me rent monthly on time, while the other one sleeps in the park, or somewhere else, PAID by the government. The government is doing everything in its power not to build enough houses. They’re outsourcing their responsibilities by making it seems like international students are the main reason of our housing crisis. Students contribute significantly to the economy and work anywhere and everywhere in jobs that many of us won’t do. The ripple effect of this decision on the economy is not good but I don’t expect much from our incompetent government

Change my mind. \nBut if Alberta starts slipping to the Left with another NDP/Socialist government, i would move to the US no question. Not just anywhere though. The 2 coasts are dumpster fires. As an American I have constantly heard how much better Canada is than the US. But I noticed a lot of things going on in Canada that made me question that narrative. It seems that people overestimated the benefits of Canada and down played the pluses of living in America. They did that in my opinion for ideological reasons because Canada has government healthcare. While healthcare is an important issue it is only one of many people should consider and they should consider them without bias when weighing the pros and cons of a country.

Almost a million foreign students allowed in country of 34 M people ! Mind boggling to say the least. Why is this problem happening ? Obviously, the minister Trudeau installed to run this, is incompetent, of low ID, or doesn’t care. Don’t blame the schools. Those who run these schools are like us, human beings, being thirsty for “money” is nothing out of the ordinary ! Getting $10K/yr. for a domestic student + subsidy fr. government of say another $10K, is about a third of a foreign student has to pay. Do the math ! Don’t blame them, blame incompetency of people Trudeau put in charge of it.

Problem with Canada is colleges and universities are not funded like US. For Engineering and STEM, US government and private companies like Intel/Microsoft/Qualcomm and many more spends million on research projects, and although US does rely on international students to fund students its not desperate like Canada. Besides, US has many college towns, no housing crisis like Canada and has robust economy. I studied in US free of cost with monthly stipend, fully funded by one such research grant. \nStudents should also realize sooner or later, especially in tech, that countries like Canada, NZ, Australia and UK are no. match for the United States. But then Indian students know in US they would never get green card. Canada/Australia/NZ were built like colonies, they don't have infrastructure- cities, roads, houses, airports, hospitals or even good colleges for such heavy immigration. They can take only limited immigrants in small busts.

The housing is something the government should have seen earlier, stepped in to start creating homes itself. It is too expensive for small companies to build or they are forced to sell what they build at a small margin or lose to regular people. Most other cases they are up against giant companies like BlackRock who use houses as investment. The hands off approach of the Liberals and Conservatives has lead us to a housing shortage. We need to build housing, and it is quite apparent that private companies too small to compete or too big to bother. The government and Canadians are going to have to solve this ourselves, and build more housing.

It seems like every Liberal Left government worldwide is determined to change and destroy the greatest cities on earth. You have to ask yourself why would they knowingly do this. There is definitely an agenda for this and to most if not all the citizens of these cities they have become complacent and accepting and saying oh well that must be progress. No, it’s not. Toronto, Vancouver are used by Chinese Triads like 14k and such to import the materials for Fentanyl from China and produce the final product there before delivering it to the US. Government officals got paid since 1990s so they can do in Canada whatever Business they want, there are many good documentaries about that.
