Voters get the government and policy they vote for. The politicians they vote for are woke progressive virtue signaling egotists who think they know the correct answers and want to appear as good and kind and compassionate. In reality they don’t know what they are doing and end up hurting the people they claim they want to help being mainly criminals, illegal aliens, mentally ill, homeless and drug addicts. They don’t care about law abiding, honest, tax paying productive citizens. So, those people end up getting the government they vote for.

I love both Canadians & Americans. However, in my travels, I have felt Americans to be more tribal. People hold on to their political identity so hard it alienates others. Its starting to happen more here, but its common to put the person before the politics. Also, ever experience a kindness train at a Timmies line up (person pays for the person behind them at the drive thru)? That's Canadian kindness to me.

Why do we put ip with this? Irrespective of one’s ethnicity..rules are rules. Study then go back. We need to take care of our own citizens first.

hey from BC, Canada, and welcome to the farthest and coldest reaches of the North. there are good and bad places in Canada too, though compared to places in the States make it look tamer. i do envy some things in the States like entertainment. i have a friend that lives in Cleveland, Ohio and he went to a Cavaliers game for $20. in Canada, that might get you parking and a ticket to the Raptors was like $130-160 for nosebleed seats. quite a difference. (edit: air travel or telecoms/internet is super expensive since companies here don't like competition and the government is kind of gutless to make a fair price for things like the States does. Canada telecoms say because things are too spread out so things are expensive, but Australia is even more spread out than Canada and they have way cheaper prices of internet and telecoms)

I'm a dual citizen of the USA and Canada (born in Dallas Texas, now lived in Canada since age 7). I agree with your point about American's being kind but getting a bad rap. I think a big part of that is due to media because for the most part you hear about the bad news about what Americans have done but you rarely hear about the wonderful sides of American people.

I’m Indian, born and raised in Canada. My parents came here in 1994 and they made the best decision for our future. We adjusted to Canadian culture and have respect for the country that gave us opportunity. It makes me disgusted seeing my own kind come here and make a mockery of such a good country. As a Macedonian/Greek Canadian, whose family moved here from Greece in 1968, I am now preparing to move back to Macedonia or Greece. I am also considering moving to Thailand, Vietnam, or South Korea. I'm 36 years old and I can no longer make a decent wage with my college diploma. So I have gone back to university, and I'm 2 years through my 5 year degree. Once I get my degree I'll decide where I'll live for the rest of my life, but it will not be Canada, that's 100% for sure. I plan on liquidating my condo and house to buy much more land and nicer property, with money left over, rather than just surviving in Canada and living on scraps. This was once a great country for immigrants and native citizens, it's now become some kind of cruel joke. The only thing I'm thankful for is my Canadian education, as Canadian education is highly valued around the world. Other than that, Canada can kiss my Greek ass.

My suggestion to avoid these kinds of issues, Canadian Government only should recruit students to avoid these kinds of problems. No more recruiting agents in India, but only Canadian government should have government affiliated offices in India.

I would like to add something here to show my gratitude towards Canada. \nI immigrated in Canada and now a Canadian citizen. The best thing Canada has given me are equal opportunities, and system to adopt. \nWhen we immigrated to any country we should respect and obey the rules, culture and values of country. \nIt is hard to say but nowadays some kind of immigrants consultant become greedy and comming students also become blind followers that they are not doing research by themselves. \n\nCanada has very clear and easy to follow immigration rules that any one with basic education can read and understand. There is no place where it is written to give guarantee to PR or extension of the work permit beyond the limit. Usually anyone taking decision to immigrate any another country then obviously need to do some basic and easy home work. \n\nIt is totally not fare and ethically right to protest in the host country to change their clearly defined rules after landing despite of accepting terms while submitting the studen visa. So my humble respect to prospective immigrants and existing students that protesting to change rules in Canada should not be right way to do instead of protest against greedy and lying immigrants consultants who lied with you to save next students and immigrants.

Foreign students are not counted as immigrants, and they very well know that. After a students work permit expires, they have to leave the country.
