When will we realize that the underlying reason worldwide for problems with immigration is that we are victims of our own reproductive success-too many people on earth for the amount of available resources? This fact is apparently not realized in the USA, for example where cannibus is becoming more legal to use, while it is now illegal in some areas to possess or use abortion medication!!!

I don't see how collapsing the infrastructure is helping anybody. If there's no room, there's no room. Out of the 8 billion people on the planet, something like 6.5 billion live in developing nations. Canada has 40 million people. When is it too many? Another 40 million? A billion?

I moved from the UK to Canada 28 years ago. It was great for 26 years to Mr. Trudeau ruined Canada. I read many people mentioning how salaries are low in Germany. What would be considered a good salary in one of the big cities in order to live a comfortable life?

Is everyone bad at math and economics? If you have too many people in a country….you drive up the costs of housing, food, etc because of “supply and demand”…..then as a result, most people get poorer. Only the very rich benefit. But if you LIMIT immigration numbers…costs for everything is lower and everyone gets a chance to use the extra money to grow and expand the economy that will benefit both the citizens AND the new immigrants. I really believe the globalists have the sinister agenda to erode the middle class and small businesses…to weaken their voters who will have to rely heavily on their government for everything. Canada is a failure because it doesn't utilize its mass resources and it inflated the economy and let in ways too many people in too short of time which made housing some of the highest in the world. Its hard to do business, taxes are high but see no benefit, and nearly 1/4 canadians work for the govt living off actual productive people. Its the perfect combination for a collapse with Trudeau

There has been way too many immigrants in all of western countries. It's the obligation of a government to make sure it's done in an intelligent, thoughtful manner. Any country should bring in people that make the country better, not use the resources of the people already there.

I came to Berlin, Germany ?? from India with my family in 2021 on EU Blue card. I work here as a Software Engineer and last month I got my PR. Below are my observations \n1) Not expat friendly at all - Most of Govt departments doesn’t want to speak English at all making us feel we are useless. Esp at initial level it is next to impossible \n2) Taxes are too high I have lots of friends in Netherlands in HSM visa and they have 30 percent off in total salary meaning taxes are charged on remaining 70 percent.\n3) Difficult to buy home in Germany ?? whereas in Netherlands it is super easy and banks easily give 100 percent mortgage. Many friends of mine took their own house on the very first year and their emi is almost equivalent to the rent.\n4) Openess to English is still an issue if Germany ?? needs more skilled workers which I feel they desperately need it they would need to be more open towards English which is a common linked language.\n5) People are not at all friendly and avoid small talks.

I left Germany after 5 long years. Despite having a Blau Karte, a salary of €86,000 and eligibility for the EU long term residence permit, I just couldn't stand the retarded bureaucracy, extremely inefficient systems, long waiting times for everything, the refusal of many businesses and service providers to even adopt English as an option, the dull cities, crazy real estate prices and a lot more. People were generally nice, but it wasn't too difficult to come across the nasty ones, especially in the service sector. Service, even with high prices, absolutely sucks in Germany, like the complete opposite of Asia. \n\nI didn't even apply for the EU residence permit because I couldn't bother with German B1. I speak 6 languages, so learning isn't an issue for me. My heart was just never in Germany, and it never felt like home at all.\n\nIn Germany, there's a shortage of everything, except attitude.

‘’ we need skilled workforce” means that the German government, like so many other countries, has had horrible budget management skills, and the retirement that people have paid into is already spent. Therefore, you need an endless cycle of robbing Peter to pay Paul. Of course you wouldn’t want to address the sources of the issue which is a. The cost of living being too high to entertain the idea of having children b. Cutting back on hefty government, payroll and services so that each person’s pension isn’t spent already.

The problem here is that the roles that are required to be filled are expecting experienced people or roles in high demand such as on nursing and medical services.\nFrom my POV German employers are cheap Bts, they don't like to compete with other employers on wages, and German Governments have obliged and effectively changed the labour market rules to favour a race to the bottom on wages. In many ways the merchantile policies to lower labour costs are there to keep domestic demand low and the economy focused on exports. This means that the wealthy families that run the big companies will only get richer while the common folk will struggle.

Many of my friends who studied Masters here in Germany are struggling to find a job and yet they say we need skilled workers. Where are the jobs.\nFor language issue why can't you work with companies and give conditional offer to employees that in 2-3 years you have to be fluent in German and give them an opportunity to learn the language and integrate.\nBut did we see this no and yet they say we want workers..Yes you will get people obviously the world is big but not the quality one and in some time your situation will become like of France and UK.\n\nAnd though I have finished my Master and working in a company for very less salary still i regret my decision to come here leaving my well paid job in my home country was the worst mistake. \nBut now i have to find a way out from here

It's on the rise everywhere, because people can't deal with the huge intake of MANY other people. Especially when they cause major issues on a regular basis.

Because Canadians are seeing their country disappear in front of their eyes. For a country with such a massive landmass, Canada's population is microscopic. It's why people travel. If I go to Japan, for instance, I want to feel the difference in the way of life, but if Japan suddenly opened its door to mass migration, I wouldn't any more. So Japan doesn't open its door to mass migration, and what would you know? Japan still resembles Japan.

This is a lie. Many skill workers are seriously searching and not employed because of low pay, bureaucracy, etc. Stop companies from hiring abroad and take care of their people. It will prevent non cohesiveness in communities in Germany and Europe. Did you not see that people of Germany want less and less immigration?

People, i moved here many years ago.... If you are not in real need don't do it... Salaries were not low but thanks to inflation you cannot afford that much anymore, plus is not a friendly culture and not an eas to learn language ( i speak it since before I came but i see how the others struggle a lot).

This is all politcally driven. There are actually very few jobs available. There are hundred of applications at very job ad posted by all the companies I know. I keep asking HR people, where are all these advertised jobs in channels like this? Can DW actually make a study on this? Hahaha this is the Guardian left leaning newspaper doing documentary on immigration, guess what the conclusion would be - more third world immigration?!? Most of the people I found that promote immigration are not the ones that really do anything to provide more infrastructure, they are the one that you can really do with out, some academics in the social sciences, career politicians, mostly pen-pushers. Have a look in UK who works in building sites and then look at people who are getting free housing, you need not look further to understand the unfairness and why people feel bitter. It's really sad to see this ..these kids don't come from great financial backgrounds ..and looting them for 20 to 25 lakhs is like a crime. It's like more educated way to loot someone. I went on an Office visit to Toronto back in 2013 when basement costed around 700 to 800 CAD, the student's situation wasn't that grave. One could see students, but not many. This should not be legal. That's messed up. They're taking those jobs from people that actually need those jobs. It's not easy for people in South Asian middle class families to get these jobs as their English is not fluent so these jobs go to privileged and educated families. They're getting the airline blacklisted by doing this, reducing jobs for the poor in their home country. This is selfish. As someone from a 3rd world country, this is dangerous. I've heard so many cases of people ending up as slaves because some idiot conned them into doing this. Canada also needs to look into corrupted politicians getting PR cause they bought land there through money laundering schemes in the home country. And these issues have existed even before Trudeau came into power. Stop blaming just 1 person, blame the entire system.

This is crazy. I work with many Indian people and i can honestly say the majority are respectful, courteous, educated and very friendly. They're absolutely no threat to anyone. Here in China, housing is so expensive that many young people give up on dating and getting married. Unlike in Western countries, where immigration is often blamed for housing issues, the core problem here lies with those who already own property. These property owners deliberately inflate housing and rent prices to maintain their wealth, while the government is more than happy to see property and land prices to stay high so they can earn higher tax revenue for their own politician’s pay bonus, forcing younger generations to work under exploitative conditions to pay for the predatory rent, leaving barely enough money to afford basic essentials .

One CRUCIAL point nobody is making is WHY there's SO MANY people seeking refuge in other neighbouring countries??\nEndless wars to support elitist agendas! You can thank the Western military industrial complex and their associates for that! All people have the right to practice their religion but when you move to a new country, you can’t expect that country to change everything for your religion you have to adapt you have to share you have to compromise, and this is the problem with some people not all in different religions not just Muslims There are many people in society that take their religion to the extreme and that’s the problem. To answer the question with another question, why do you think that adding 10 million immigrants to a country with a relatively small population in just 11 years was going to turn out well? \n\n10 million is roughly one-third of what Canada's population was 11 years ago. It is one-quarter of today's population. How was this not going to cause housing shortages and stress the social/health and education systems, overcrowd schools, and clog roads and public transport? How was it not going to grow homelessness and tent cities?\n\n10 million in 11 years were simply too many people in too short a time period. One has to ask whether this was deliberate or whether the federal government is lacking in powers of reasoning. I suspect both.

Many immigrants have to bring alot of money and skills just to enter the rat race on the lowest level and be ripped off in pay dumping and rent hiking schemes. I wished to move to Canada 12 years ago. I am American. I was told that I needed a job and that job NEEDED to be filled. This would allow me to move there. I didn't move. Now with the migration crisis, too many immigrants at one time will overload the system and overpopulate a country. I fear with the climate crisis constantly reshaping our futures, that immigration will be an ongoing problem for the entire world. I believe countries must plan for even more immigration waves due to climate change. The Earth is changing...people will be moving to save their lives, to have a future. As human beings we must adapt to these pressures and changes in our planet. Make it livable, or else face the consequences of seeing millions of people die because you were unwilling to open your borders. There is room, just get rid of the greed. This planet , its peoples,must find ways to live together. Education, to keep the planet healthy, stop overpopulation, keep the air and water clean...stop the greed are the goals we must strive to follow.

The cost of living in metro Vancouver, BC is so ridiculously high that many are either sharing a suite or living in motor homes. It's gotten so bad they had to shut down the Bradner Rest Area in Abbotsford because it was full of people living in motor homes and trailers.

I think people are missing the big picture. Canada does not want private citizens to be property owners,and especially not landlords who are earning income from property ownership. The struggle around landlord rights is specifically targeted to discourage property investment. As Canada does so well, the punishment is the process. This will not change regardless of how many 5min news bites are published.

Because multiculturalism is an experiment that is in many peoples opinion, not working. Country needs to be based on a strong community. That’s a very difficult to create when everybody thinks differently.

If Canadians are unhappy about immigration, that literally means it’s an indisputable scientific fact that there are immense issues with our system. The dark and disgusting side of this that doesn’t get talked about is how many newcomers leave shortly after spending everything they have to boost our GDP before they realize they’ll never get the opportunity or life they were promised here. I don’t think it’s just Canadians that see immense issues with our immigration system.\n\nImmigration also implies diversity. Not just flooding the country with millions of people from one section of the world.\n\nWe are indeed in a catch 22 though, because with the lack of replacement birth rate we’ve had, we can’t simply haunt immigration. But the asinine quota needs to go down. This all boils down to basic math and basic economics. There are no excuses for how badly this has been botched.

Canada has to start recognising degrees from other countries. Here in B.C. we have emergency rooms closing overnight due to lack of staffing. We need doctors and nurses yet the barriers for those immigrating to get their degrees recognised mean many never qualify.\n\nCanada also needs to look at who we are admitting in and to terminate the family unification policy. When immigration was helping the country grow there was a different demographic coming in. Often it was single men or young married couples. As they came by themselves they assimilated into the mosiac of the country. When you concentrate on immigrants from one country instead of assimilating they setup ethnic communities. \n\nLook into what study groups have said that is contributing to gang violence. It's ethnic groups that have the grandparents, parents and grand kids all living in one home. The grandparents want the grand kids to adhere to their native culture. Unfortunately by time you get to the grand kids they are Canadian. They speak English/French depending where they live with little interest in speaking their ethnic language. There is cultural conflict within the home hence street life is where they find love and caring.\n\nSome cultures are not as community minded. Part of the high cost of renting/housing is based on greed not need. In my own community I know of apartment units now renting at 2,500 - 4,000/month owned by the same people that even five years back you could have rented for 500 - 800. There is no justification for that percentage of increase other than greed.\n\nJob opportunities. Summer employment for school kids is going down yearly. You see local business that use to hire students over the summer month claiming they can't find any workers. They bring in TFW yet Canadian students can't find work. You can tell the owners nationality of a business by the nationality of the workforce. A local store bought by a east Indian two years ago which at the time had a diverse workforce is now entirely staffed by east Indians. Yet who screams racist? \n\nCanada definitely needs to reconsider its immigration policy and bring in major changes.

Canada needs better immigration laws. Also better screening for those who are chosen to stay. I’ve Hurd of so many people coming to Canada just to live off of welfare and child support benefits, and many who actually want to stay to work and continue a career are deported.
